  • The aim of this study was to explore the types of helicopter parenting among college students, and to examine how the identified types of helicopter parenting are associated with intimacy goals in dating. In order to investigate these purposes, 202 college students were recruited and analyzed. With the use of Mplus 7.4, a latent profile analysis identified latent profiles of helicopter parenting. Additionally, multivariate regression analysis was conducted in order to analyze the links between the types of helicopter parenting and intimacy goals in dating by using SPSS 26.0. The main findings of the study were as follows. Firstly, three helicopter parenting classes were identified: 1) strong decision-making, 2) strong helicopter parenting, 3) weak helicopter parenting. Secondly, college students in the strong helicopter parenting class reported significantly higher levels of intimacy goals in dating than those in the strong decision-making class. On the other hand, no significant connection was identified between the type of 'weak helicopter parenting' and the levels of intimacy goals in dating, referencing the type of 'strong helicopter parenting.' These results indicate that helicopter parenting has a certain number of types in nature, and the control-based parental behavior could have an impact on college students' intimacy goals in dating.

  • Conventional direct current (DC) rotating machines are usually used for crane and press machine using high torque in metal and steel industries, because of a constant output power along variable rotating speed. A general DC motor with permanent field magnets could not increase a magnetic flux density at a gap between armature coils and field magnets. However, a superconducting DC motor has field magnets composed with high temperature superconducting (HTS) coils and it could increase the magnetic flux density at the gap to over 10 times than those of a general DC motor by control the excitation current into HTS coils. The superconducting DC motor could be operated with extremely high torque and constant output power at a low rotational speed. In this paper, a 500 W superconducting DC rotating machine was conceptually designed with a LN2 (Liquid Nitrogen) cooling method and the operation characteristics results of HTS field magnets were presented. The two no-insulation HTS magnets for a 500 W superconducting DC rotating machine were fabricated. The excitation current for the HTS magnets could be controlled from 0 to 40 A. This test results will be available to design large-sized HTS magnets for a number of hundred kW class superconducting DC rotating machine under LN2 cooling system.

  • In this study, a programming class plan was designed for artificial intelligence education in technical high schools such as specialized high schools and Meister high schools. In elementary and middle schools or general high schools, it is not easy to secure the number of hours, so it is not easy to proceed with a lot of content and in-depth content. In addition, technical high schools have a good environment for nurturing human resources in the field of artificial intelligence. For this purpose, existing researches related to artificial intelligence education were explored, and programming classes related to artificial intelligence education were grafted into the units of the existing engineering high school programming classes.

  • Multi-band photometry provides an advantage in being able to perform taxonomic classification analysis on a large number of asteroids in a much shorter period of time than spectroscopy. We observed main-belt asteroids using Korea Microlensing Telescope Network (KMTNet) in CTIO during the summer seasons in the southern hemisphere, mostly in December 2015, 2016 and 2017 with two visible photometric systems, SDSS (g, r, i, and z), and Johnson-Cousins (B, V, R, and I). Targets were selected for the asteroids which had already been classified based on Bus-Binzel taxonomy (Bus & Binzel, 2002) and DeMeo taxonomy (DeMeo et al. 2009). Not only the targets but also numerous serendipitously observed asteroids were identified. In summary, 6817 and 5456 known objects, including 307 and 233 already classified asteroids were observed with SDSS and Johnson-Cousins systems, respectively. Using principal component analysis, the three major asteroid complexes and a class, S-, C-, and X-complexes and V class are found to be well separated in the principal component plane (spectral slope and 1 micron absorption depth) with both filter systems. We will present and discuss the results of our newly proposed three-dimensional color taxonomy for asteroids using the whole dataset (Roh et al., to be submitted).

  • This paper investigates the construction equipment accidents by time. Construction sites are unique with many different hazardous conditions which cause accidents. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), accidents related to construction equipment are one of the most leading causes of fatal injuries in the construction industry. While there have been many studies investigating the equipment-related accidents, few research studies provided in-depth analyses about the time that accidents frequently occurred. By using the OSHA accidents data collected between 1997 and 2012, this paper analyzed the accidents data by time, equipment type including excavator, backhoe, dozer, and crane, accident cause, and injury class. The analyses revealed that the time window with most accidents was between 13:00 and 13:59. In terms of the injury class, the time windows with the highest numbers of equipment accidents were between 13:00 and 13:59 and between 11:00 and 11:59 for fatality and hospitalization, respectively. For the accident causes, equipment operator's error was the highest number of accident causes. It is expected that findings from the analyses can be used to more strategically develop management plans and guidelines to prevent accidents related to construction equipment to practitioners.

  • This study was designed to investigate the displacements and reaction forces of teeth caused by the application of the rectangular shape-memory arch wires with curve of Spee. Computer-aided three dimensional finite element method was adopted. This finite element model consists of brick element for teeth, beam element for the wire, and contact element for the periodontal ligament. And the application of the MEAW(Multiloop Edgewise Arch Wire) was also studied so that the results of the two methods can be compared each other. Total number of the nodes and elements were found to be 5925 and 4031, repectively. In addition, several types of elastics and corresponding displacements and reaction forces were examined. The findings of this study were as follows: 1. When the rectangular shape-memory arch wire with curve of Sun was used alone, the intrusion and labioversion was noticeable on the upper incisors, while the upper molars showed less intrusion. With MEAW, the intrusion and labioversion of the upper incisors were slightly larger than those when the shape-memory arch wire was used, but on the upper molars the opposite result was obtained with respect to the intrusion. 2. The shape-memory arch wire with the vertical elastics caused the larger downward displacement on the upper canine than that when the MEAW was used with the vertical elastics. However, the downward displacement of the upper incisors was larger in MEAW. The uprighting and buccoversion of the molars were observed in both cases. 3. The use of the Class II or III elastics showed the extrusion and changes in torque of the corresponding teeth. The downward displacement of the upper canine was increased when the Class II and vertical elastics were applied simultaneously, but it was decreased when both of the Class III and vertical elastics were used.

  • The Purpose of this Paper is the development of the day-to-day dynamic combined model on the evaluation of traveller's traffic information for multi-mode and multi-class environments. Information is assumed to be provided for multi-mode such as bus and automobile. and multi-class such as a driver with and without route guidance equipment when they depart for their trips. The information provision strategies have been developed in the base of user equilibrium, system optimum and in between them. The Sioux Falls network is used for the evaluation of the model and information provision strategies. In the numerical analysis, a Braess' paradox for the information provision, which is the increase of travel time even though the number of information usage level and user are increased, has been occurred so that these kinds of information strategies should be implemented with special care.

  • Objectives: A number of studies in economically developed countries have shown occurrence of stroke and cardiovascular disease to be inversely related to socioeconomic class. The purpose of this study is to investigate socioeconomic differentials in stroke and cardiovascular disease mortality in Korea. Methods: Two data from two sources, registry data from National Health Insurance Corporation and death certification data from National Statistics Office, were used to calculate mortality rate for five socioeconomic classes. Poisson regression analysis was used to calculate relative indices of inequality as a measure of mortality differentials between socioeconomic classes. Results: For males, graded socioeconomic differentials in mortality were observed with higher mortality rates related to lower socioeconomic class for intracerebral hemorrhage, cerebral infarct, hypertension, ischemic heart disease, myocardial infarct, and arrhythmia. The relative index of inequality for stroke and cardiovascular disease was 1.61(95% CI=1.54-1.68). For females, these differentials were observed for arrhythmia and intracerebral hemorrhage. The relative index of inequality was 1.06(95% CI=1.02-1.11). Conclusions: This socioeconomic differential in mortality, consistent with the results of other studies performed in economically developed countries suggest that Socioeconomic class can influence mortality regardless of the developmental stage of the country.

  • In selected patients with occlusive lesions of coronary arteries, aortocoronary bypass grafting has been effective in reducing anginal symptoms and in increasing the patients` longevity. Between May, 1977, and December, 1983, 41 patients with coronary occlusive disease received aortocoronary bypass surgery at Yonsei University Medical Center in Seoul. Thirty-three were male and 8 were female. Their ages ranged from 33 to 70 years [average 531.6 years]. Of the 41 patients, 11 suffered from stable angina, 30 suffered from unstable angina and 4 suffered from a variant type of angina. Eleven patients had 1 diseased vessel, 11 patients had 2 diseased vessels, 19 patients had 3 diseased vessels, and 5 patients had a diseased left main coronary artery. A single graft was placed in 5 patients, a double graft was placed in 17 patients, a triple graft was placed in 11 patients and a quadruple graft was placed in 8 patients. Nineteen patients received a sequential graft [40 sites of 20 vessels]. The average internal diameter of the grafted distal coronary artery was 2.380.15, 1.630.13 mm on the left side and 3.200.20, 1.830.21 mm on the right side. Two operative deaths occurred in the early years of our experience. The mortality rate was 4.87% and there were no late deaths. Of the 39 survivors, 30 [76.9%] were Functional Class I [free of symptoms without medication], 7 [17.9%] were Functional Class II and only 2[5.2%] were Functional Class III during the follow up period [653.75 patient-months]. On the basis of this experience, we conclude that coronary artery occlusive disease is occurring in increasing numbers in Korea. Therefore, a concerted effort is needed to detect this disease and to manage the increasing number of patients suffering from it.

  • A quantitative method was suggested for estimating damages in fishery production due to the diffusion and deposition of suspended silt and clay by various construction processes in tidal flat fishing grounds. Marine populations are maintained through the process of spawning, growth, recruitment, natural death and death by fishing each year. All of the year classes of the population in a fishery ground could be affected when damages occur by human activities such as land filling or reclamation. The propose of this study is to calculate damages in terms of fishery production using a quantitative population dynamic method. If the maximum age in the population is $X_\lambda,$ the starting year of damage is $t_s,$ and the ending year of damage is $t_e,$ the number of year classes damaged is $t_{s-n\lambda}-t_e,$ Many year classes present in the year $t_s,$ and so if damages occur, they Influence all the year classes which are present in the population. Damaged year classes in year $t_e$ would still be in the population until the year $t_{e+n\lambda}$, where $n_{\lambda}$ is the oldest age class. If the expected yield of a year class is constant, the total yield from year classes in the fishing ground during the construction periods can be calculated as follows: $Y_\Phi=[(t_e-t_s+1)+n_c]{\cdot}Y_E+\sum\limits^{n_\lambda-n_c}_{l=1}\;\sum\limits^{n_\lambda-n_c}_{l=i}\;Y_{n_c+i}$ This method was applied for damage estimation in the production of Ruditapes philippinarum in a tidal flat fishing ground.
