GNSS Services and Applications are today in permanent evolution in all the market sectors. This evolution comprises: ${\bullet}$ New constellations and systems, being GALILEO probably the most relevant example, but not the only one, as other regions of the world also dwell into developing their own elements (e.g. the Chinese Beidou system). ${\bullet}$ Modernisation of existing systems, as is the case of GPS and GLONASS ${\bullet}$ New Augmentation services, WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS, GRAS, GAGAN, and many initiatives from other regions of the world ${\bullet}$ Safety of Life services based on the provision of integrity and reliability of the navigation solutions through SBAS and GBAS systems, for aeronautical or maritime applications ${\bullet}$ New Professional applications, based on the unprecedented accuracies and integrity of the positioning and timing solutions of the new navigation systems with examples in science (geodesy, geophysics), Civil engineering (surveying, construction works), Transportation (fleet management, road tolling) and many others. ${\bullet}$ New Mass-market applications based on cheap and simple GNSS receivers providing accurate (meterlevel) solutions for daily personal navigation and information needs. Being on top of this evolving market requires an active participation on the key elements that drive the GNSS development. Early access to the new GNSS signals and services and appropriate testing facilities are critical to be able to reach a good market position in time before the next evolution, and this is usually accessible only to the large system developers as the US, Europe or Japan. Jumping into this league of GNSS developers requires a large investment and a significant development of technology, which may not be at range for all regions of the world. Bearing in mind this situation, MAGIC appears as a concept initiated by a small region within Europe with the purpose of fostering and supporting the development of advanced applications for the new services that can be enabled by the advent of SBAS systems and GALILEO. MAGIC is a low cost platform based on the application of technology developed within the EGNOS project (the SBAS system in Europe), which encompasses the capacity of providing real time EGNOS and, in the near future, GALILEO-like integrity services. MAGIC is designed to be a testing platform for safety of life and liability critical applications, as well as a provider of operational services for the transport or professional sectors in its region of application. This paper will present in detail the MAGIC concept, the status of development of the system within the Madrid region in Spain, the results of the first on-field demonstrations and the immediate plans for deployment and expansion into a complete SBAS+GALILEO regional augmentation system.

The behaviour characteristics of Granular Compaction Pile (GCP) are mainly governed by the lateral confining pressure mobilized in the soft soil matrix to restrain the bulging failure of the granular compaction pile. The GCP method is most effective in soft soil with undrained shear strength ranging $15{\sim}50kPa$. However, the efficiency of this method reduces the more compressible soil conditions, which does not provide sufficient lateral confinement. In the present study, the GCP method reinforced with uniformly graded permeable concrete is suggested for the extension of application to the soft ground. Also, large triaxial compression tests are conducted on composite-reinforced soil samples for verification of availability of the suggested method and the settlement estimation method of the reinforced GCP is proposed. Furthermore, for the verification of the proposed method, predicted settlements by the proposed method are compared with results of 3-dimensional numerical analyses. In addition, parametric studies are performed together with detailed analyses of relevant design parameters.
Excessive earth pressure is one of the major mechanical factors in the deformation and damage of Cut-and-Cover Tunnel lining in shallow tunnels and portals of mountain tunnels (Kim, 2000). Excessive earth pressure may be attributed to insufficient compaction and consolidation of backfill material due to self-weight, precipitation and vibration caused by traffic (Komiya et al., 2000; Taylor et al., 1984; Yoo, 1997). Even though there were a lot of tests performed to determine the earth pressure acting on the tunnel lining, unfortunately there were almost no case histories of studies performed to determine remedial measures that reduce differential settlement and excessive earth pressure. In this study the installation of geotextile mat was selected to reduce the differential settlement and excessive earth pressure acting on the cut-and-cover tunnel lining. In order to determine settlement and earth pressure reduction effect (reinforcement effect) of geotextile mat reinforcement, laboratory tunnel model tests were performed. This study was limited to the modeling of rigid circular cut-and-cover tunnel constructed at a depth of $1.0D\sim1.5D$ in loose sandy ground and subjected to a vibration frequency of 100 Hz. Model tests with varying soil cover, mat reinforcement scheme and slope roughness were performed to determine the most effective mat reinforcement scheme. Slope roughness was adjusted by attaching sandpaper #100, #400 and acetate on the cut slope surface. Mat reinforcement effect of each mat reinforcement scheme were presented by the comparison of earth pressure obtained from the unreinforced and mat reinforced model tests. Soil settlement reduction was analyzed and presented using the Picture Analysis Method (Park, 2003).

The construction cost is estimated based on the drawings at the design stage and constructor will find efficient construction methods for budgeting and budgeting appropriate to the budget. Accurate quantity estimation and budgeting are critical to determining whether the project is profitable or not. However, since this process is mostly performed depending on manpower or 2D drawings, errors are likely to occur and The BIM(Build Information Modeling) program, which can be automated, is very expensive and difficult to apply in the field. In this study, 3D architectural modeling was performed using SketchUp which is a 3D modeling software and suggest a methodology for Quantity Estimation. As a result, 3D modeling was performed effectively using 2D drawings of buildings. Based on the modeling results, it was possible to calculate the difference of the quantity estimation by 2D drawing and 3D modeling. The research suggests that the 3D modeling using the SketchUp and the calculation of the quantity can prevent the error of the conventional 2D calculation method. If the applicability of the research method is verified through continuous research, it will contribute to increase the efficiency of architectural modeling and quantity Estimation work.
The purpose of this study is to analyze and evaluate the role and merits and demerits of insurance agencies, which are the main sales channels of the domestic insurance market, from a neutral standpoint, and to present a roadmap by finding ways and tasks for the sustainable development of the insurance agency industry. Recently, criticisms and regulations on independent distribution channels have been strengthened due to deterioration in growth potential and profitability, and increase in civil complaints of insurance companies. In the 2000s, as the center of insurance sales channels shifted to GA and bancassurance, the supervisory authorities regarded the irrationality of project costs and recruitment fees as the root causes and announced a regulatory improvement plan. In view of these circumstance, the operating status, problems of domestic insurance agencies and their contribution to the insurance industry were reviewed. In addition, we tried to find a mid-to-long term development plan by analyzing the case of insurance agency operation in Japan. This study identified the operating status and contribution of insurance agencies in South Korea, and focused on the major status of the Japanese insurance agency industry, ways to improve management efficiency, and the status and role of self-regulatory organizations for insurance agencies. Based on this, it was proposed to improve the professionalism of the sales organization, introduce a company specializing in insurance sales, and to strengthen the status of the association of the insurance agency as for the development plan of the insurance agency industry in South Korea.

In this study, we compare and analyze the performance of three inventory management policies for raw material inventory management in a Precast Concrete production plant: Fixed Order Quantity Policy (FOQP), Fixed Order Interval Policy (FOIP), and (s, S) Ordering Policy (sSOP). In order to make more realistic conclusion, we developed and utilized the ARENA simulation model, a performance evaluation tool that considers the variance of raw material demand and supply for the entire production process in a PC production plant using multiple raw materials. For the three policies, reorder point, order quantity, target level, and order interval parameters were initialized by using Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) model and then optimized through OptQuest. As a result of optimization, inventory management costs were reduced by an average of 97.28% compared to the EOQ model that does not consider the variance of demand and supply. After setting three influencing factors, Project Occurrence Cycle (POC), Raw Material Lead-time (RML), and Unit Stock-out Cost (USC), a performance evaluation was conducted for the three policies. As a result of evaluation, the inventory management costs of FOQP and sSOP, which determine order intervals by considering inventory levels by real-time or daily, were 30.6% and 27.9% lower than FOIP with fixed order intervals respectively. In addition, inventory management costs were affected by RML and USC factors excluding POC, but the differences were 2.17% and 2.09% respectively, which were not large due to the optimization of parameters for responding the variance of raw material demand and supply.

Unlike conventional construction production methods, OSC (Off-Site Construction) have many restrictions depending on the production environment and technology, so it is important to develop a design plan considering these restrictions and select the optimal design alternative considering the overall efficiency of the building production process. Accordingly, the construction industry is paying attention to DfMA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly) to derive the optimal design plan for the OSC project. Leading OSC countries such as Singapore and the United Kingdom have recognized the need to apply DfMA and presented DfMA guidelines and application strategies suitable for the characteristics of the OSC industry, and several researchers are conducting research to integrate DfMA into the construction industry. However, in the case of Korea, the need for industrial application and industrial application of DfMA is recognized, but there are no methods and tools necessary to implement the concept of DfMA in the design of actual construction projects. Therefore, this study aims to present the basic direction of strategy for applying DfMA and developing tools for the development of the domestic OSC industry by analyzing the development and application of DfMA in overseas construction. The results of this study can be used as basic data for the development of DfMA tools suitable for the domestic OSC industry and the establishment of policies related to DfMA in the future.

During the four river restoration project, several weirs were constructed in the four rivers to prevent drought and flood, to improve water quality, and to manage water resources. However, due to the weir construction, bed changes are produced in the upstream channel of installed weirs because the incoming flow velocity is reduced and sediment transport capacity is also lowered. Especially, since the Haman Weir is located in the lowest downstream section among newly installed weirs in Nakdong River, bed change and sedimentation problems are expected due to the mild slope and reduced velocity. Therefore, numerical simulation was performed to analyze flow and bed changes in the upstream channel of Haman Weir and to evaluate quantitatively sediment control methods for bed stabilization using CCHE2D model. As a result of flow and bed change simulation after installation of Haman Weir, the flow velocity at the initial condition was faster than the final bed condition with the specific simulation time and it was represented that the locations where bed changes were great were identical for all modeling conditions of flow discharge. In case of 4.5 m of water level lowered from 5.0 m of the management water level at Haman Weir for bed stabilization, the flow velocity was generally faster than the case of the management water level and the continuous erosion was developed at the most narrow channel section as the applied discharge and simulation period were increased. The channel width extension at the most narrow channel section was proposed in this study to prevent and stabilize continuos bed erosion. As a result of numerical analysis, there was no bed erosion after channel width extension and it was presented that the channel geometry extension was effective for bed stabilization at Haman Weir.
In order to meet the new requirements for landfill materials, this study planned a study to apply mixed soil of mixing bottom ash and coastal dredged soil to the dredged ground. Coal ash generated from thermal power plant is divided into fly ash and bottom ash. In the case of fly ash, many studies have been conducted because small particles causes permeability coefficient to be small during recycling so no problem has been raised in the environmental area but the utilization of bottom ash has been limited because environmental problems have been raised during recycling due to its larger particle size and greater permeability coefficient. According to recently published studies, however, the results of the study that conducted the water analysis of leachate generated in the ground improvement section using bottom ash showed that heavy metal contamination levels were found to be within the reference value and no significant environmental problems were found so utilization of bottom ash is evaluated to increase significantly in the future. This bottom ash has the particle size of sand and only transportation costs need to be considered when providing materials because the majority has been disposed and it is judged as the most suitable material in dredging landfill in the economic aspect because most thermal power plants are located in the coast and transportation costs can be reduced by ship. Also, research on mixed soil that can maximize the effect of the construction period and construction cost savings than dredged soil is determined as needed because the demand for coastal dredging reclamation is increasing such as Saemangeum project etc. Therefore, we studied self-weight consolidation characteristics depending on sample processing and mixing method of mixed soil by carrying out interior self-weight consolidation experiments on mixed soil of mixing bottom ash and Kaolinite according to the new development needs of recent coastal reclaimed ground and these result findings are expected to be used as basic data when applying the large coastal dredged ground in the future.
