A Study on The Conditions of The Department Stores in Seoul -Emphasis on the Layout of the Fashion Zone and Brands- (국내 백화점의 패션매장 구성과 브랜드 전개현황 분석)

  • This study analyzed the trends of fashion market in 15 branch stores of 3 major department stores in Seoul. The purposes of this study were to classify fashion zone and brands in each floor of the department stores, and to analyze the rate which a fashion brand was located department store. The results were as follows : 1. There were sundry goods on main floor, women\`s clothings on 2-4th floor, sports & golf wears and infants & children\`s clothings from 6th floor to the top in most department stores. 2. Lotte Chamshil branch had the largest number of fashion brands in it, the nest was Lotte Main store and followed by Hyundai Chunhoe branch, Shinsegae Gangnam branch, Hunndai Shinchun branch, Lotte Gangnam branch, Hyundai Main store, Hyundai Muyeuk-Center branch, and Lotte Youngdeungpo branch, etc. 3. The fashion categories of the Lotte Department stores were segmented as the Casuals (character, young, young basic, career, town, jean, city), Young worlds, Imported beautique, Madams, Designers(beautique), Intelligences, Unisex, Ladies formal wears, the Seasonables, and the Formals, Missy Careers. This was the most various fashion market segments among 3 major department stores. This store had 667 Women\`s fashion and Casual brands. The Chamshil branch and Main store were intensified the Casual & sundry goods on 5th floor. 4. The fashion categories of the Hundai Department stores were segmented as Women\`s wears, Women\`s casuals, Young-Adult, Young live, Women\`s former wears, Royal beautique and Young characters. It was less segmented than other Department stores. Total number of Women\`s fashion and casual brands were 471 brands. The market segmentation of fashion zone was well done at Chunho branch and Shinchun branch. It was intensified that Fashion sundry goods at Muyeuk-Center branch and The Women and Young fashion zone at Chunho branch. 5. The fashion categories of the Shinsaegae Department stores were segmented as Casuals (young, young character, X-, missy, career, character), Imported beautique, Designer\`s characters, Young basics, Elegance, Missy, Young weave, Original brands. This store had 304 Women\`s fashion and Casual brands. Shinsaegae has also developed it\`s own brand(PB items) and classified as the Original zone which differentiated it from other Departments. 6. The Deco was the most popular brand in the department stores, the next were Micha/Botticelli, and followed by Darks/System/lzzat Baba, Givy/Obzee/Lee won jae/Kim yeon Joo, and so on. The target of 6 out of 10 brands which were included in here were career women of age 20 to 30 ages. The price rate were from 200,000 won to 300,000 won.

  • Regardless of area, public libraries should establish its status as the knowledge and information service center, cultural enjoyment and lifelong learning space in close contact with everyday life. To do this, it is necessary to survey the citizen's perception of the public library. In this study, researchers investigated and analyzed the perception of Daegu citizens including the weight and importance of public libraries, library use status and reasons for non-use, reading program participation and reasons for non-participation, and regions that require new library facilities. Based on these results, researchers suggested the measures to strengthen the infrastructure of public library and to increase its use in conjunction with other relevant data, that is, domestic and international researches, related laws, national reading survey, national cultural infrastructure overview, Daegu citizen survey, Daegu city brand perception survey, and the status of public libraries in national and Daegu Metropolitan City.

A Geographical Study on 'Daegusibyeong(大丘十詠)' written by Seo, geojeong (서거정의 '대구십영'에 관한 지리학적 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to critically investigate the places of the 'Daegusibyeong(大丘十詠)', written by Seo, Geojeong based on Chinese poem, old documents, and field surveys in terms of a geographical perspective. It is asserted that the controversial aspects on the 'Daegusibyeong(大丘十詠)' are corrected through the analysis of old documents and field surveys. The results are summarized in the followings. 1) Ascertain historical and geographical evidence on places of 'Daegusibyeong(大丘十詠)' are accomplished properly based on old documents and field surveys. 2) The existing misinterpretation of the 'Daegusibyeong(大丘十詠)' are corrected by the finding of one Chinese character in the 'Dongsasimseung(桐寺尋僧)', the seventh poem of 'Daegusibyeong(大丘十詠)' consisted of 10 Chinese poems. 3) Subjects and content of the 'Daegusibyeong(大丘十詠)' in Sagajib(四佳集) are more rightly written than those of the old documents such as Daegueubji(大丘邑誌), Sinjeungdonggukyeojiseungram(新增東國輿地勝覽). 4) A few mistakes in the subject and word of the 'Daegusibyeong (大丘十詠)' are corrected as compared with the those of the old documents. 5) It is assumed that the brand value and image of Daegu city will be improved if the 'Daegusibyeong(大丘十詠)' is restored based on the results of the study and its restoration is utilized in Daegu city tour program.

The Confidence Band of $ED_{100p}$ for the Simple Logistic Regression Model

  • The $ED_{100p}$ is that value of the dose associated with 100p% response rate in the analysis of quantal response data. Brand, Pinnock, and Jackson (1973) studied the confidence bands of $ED_{100p}$ obtained by solving extremal values algebraically on the ellipsoid confidence region of the parameters in the simple logistic regression model. In this paper, we develope and illustrate a simpler method for obtaining confidence bands for $ED_{100p}$ based on the rectangular confidence region of parameters.

  • Flagship store opening is one of the most frequently reported retail news in which it is widely used to promote a new store opening. The purpose of this study was to explore the flagship stores on media reports. Flagship store cases were collected from the news article database of the largest internet portal in Korea. A total of 210 cases were collected and content-analyzed. Though various business types of flagship stores were observed, most were in fashion. The most common characteristic of the flagship cases was the location of the prime sites in a metropolitan city. Global luxury and designer fashion brands met most characteristics, but many flagship stores were not more than a brand-owned store. The flagship store term is emphasized with dramatic expressions and various promotional events for media interests and in turn for marketing communication effect.

  • This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of remodeling business by predicting the future price of apartment house after remodeling using Hedonic Price Model. The data concerning such 8 independent variables as location, unit size, unit plan, landscape, parking, the number of elapsed years after completion, number of units, brand per apartment unit from 25 regions in Seoul metropolitan city were collected and evaluated by established evaluation criteria. The coefficients affecting the price of apartment unit were made by way of linear multi-regression and put into Hedonic Price Model. The feasibility evaluation model for apartment was made and verified by data of remodelled apartment. The predicted results using suggested evaluation model coincide with actual apartment market situations.

The life style and dwelling preferences of the university students (대학생의 생활스타일과 주거의 선호성향)

  • The objective of this research is an investigation and analysis of life style and preference trend for dwelling for 450 university students. The major findings are as follows: (1) The life style is classified into 3 categories according to the priority of fashion and privacy, brand and social relationship, and family and domesticity. Women give priority to fashion and privacy as well as family and domesticity than men do. (2) Dwelling awareness is grouped into 3; one for pursuing the value of asset, another with the inclination to residential transition and the other for preferring for a detached house. Women have a stronger inclination to the economical value of house and prefers to live in the big city than men do. (3) As a factor affecting the dwelling preference, men give priority to the exterior condition such as environment, but women do the interior condition like the size of house. Men and Women showed various preferences for housing style such as detached house, villa, apartment and commercial complex dwelling, which is accord with the present housing style.

  • The study on Wholesale pricing of MVNO using two way interconnection charge system is rare. This paper considers MVNO possessing its own facilities and subscribers. While previous studies focus on wholesale provision by MNO, this paper employs another approach from existing MVNO model. This paper introduces two way interconnection charge system by recognizing that mobile network interconnection is important to complete the call from MNO to MVNO as well as the call from MVNO to MNO. Also it is interesting to analyze wholesale pricing when there is brand loyalty between MNO and MVNO. This paper analyzes retail pricing and wholesale pricing under duopoly competition and drives social optimal solutions using linear city model.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze Adolescents spending habits and examine it. The data was collected from 1125 high school students and their parents nationwide. The resets are as follows. 1. About seventy eight percent of the responded students own relatively high-priced goods such as brand-name jeans (59.1%), a mobile phone (31.9%), perfume with a price of 50,000 won or more (26.5%), CD Player (24.4%) or electronic pocket diary (17.1%). The percentage varies according to region. 2. The Adolescents tendency for conspicuous consumption is reflected by 2.92 points out of a total 5 points, while their mothers'marks 2.18 points. By region, conspicuous consumption behavior is more common in Seoul than in other small and medium-sized cities and towns. Also, the more mother attribute children's behavior internally, the lower the childeren's competence is.

  • Under the dual pressure of population growth and land shortage, threedimensional development is the inevitable choice for cities in China. In such a scenario, a mixed-use complex has considerable potential in its realization and research. Based on space syntax and the three-dimensional visibility graph analysis, this paper describes the spatial and functional layout of the Shanghai Super Brand Mall and studies the relationship between spatial visibility and user behaviour through linear regression analysis and correlation analysis. This paper studies three different types of user behaviour, namely, path selection, staying selection, and store selection, and finds that spatial visibility and accessibility have different effects on user behaviour depending on the type and purpose of the activity. This paper reveals the influence of spatial and functional layout on user behaviour and puts forward the corresponding design strategy under the three-dimensional environment.
