  • The marine officer plays a pivotal role in the shipping organization as a professional who performs a complex and diverse function. On the sea, unlike land duty, the possibility of turnover increases due to characteristics such as living in isolated spaces, continuous shift work during a set sailing period, high intensity work tension, stress, and social isolation. In this study, the impact of the organization's civic actions on the intention of turnover as a mediator of organizational immersion was divided into three groups of large companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, and public enterprises to check the differences between each category in a structural manner. Analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences between the groups in loyalty and turnover intention when the sub-factors of organizational commitment and organizational citizen behavior of the marine officer, and the size of turnover intention were included. Organization citizen behavior did not directly affect turnover intention, but when indirect effects were included, there was an effect through loyalty, and relationship-oriented organizational citizen behavior negatively affected turnover intention through loyalty. Excluding public enterprises, the non-standardization path coefficients were -0.229±0.117 and -0.319±0.068, respectively, showing a statistically significant effect in large companies and SMEs. These results indicate that in order to lower the employee turnover intention in large corporations and small and medium-sized shipping companies, it is necessary to consider not only organizational citizen behavior but also measures to increase organizational commitment.

  • The purpose of this study is to reveal the similarity and difference by comparing the quality of life between senior citizen group and disabled people group. For this purpose, I surveyed the questionnaire composed of sociological variable of population, social support, society activity participation, activity of daily living, self-efficacy, and quality of life to 113 senior citizens and 107 disabled people and analyzed the actual proof relationship of cause and effect in between variables. I executed the analysis of structural equation model by using SPSS 14.0 and AMOS 7.0 for the analysis of data. As the result of the study, firstly, the variables highly co-related with the quality of life to both senior citizen group and disabled people group were self-efficacy and society activity participation, and the variables highly co-related with self-efficacy were the quality of life and society activity participation. Secondly, the variables which show the meaningful difference between senior citizen group and disabled people group were society activity participation and activity of daily living. Thirdly, in the senior citizen group, social support, society activity participation, and activity of daily living have meaningful effect on self-efficacy, and all variables have meaningful effect on the quality of life. However, in the disabled people group, social support did not have meaningful effect on self-efficacy, and the social support and self-efficacy did not have meaningful effect on the quality of life. Based upon these study results I discussed the meaning and implications of the study, and suggested the successive study tasks.

  • It is estimated that the need to build health facilities for the elderly will grow in the near future as the Korean society is aging. Thus the study on the spatial composition of 22 facilities as well as on the cases of health facilities for the elderly in Japan, where public health and medicare for aged people are well taken care of, was conducted and the following are the results: 1. As of 2000, there was one facility for every 8,000 and 1,100 aged citizen under long-term care, and these facilities secured beds enough for $8\%$ of those who need long-term care. 2. The spatial composition was categorized into general living space, long-term care, management, provision, and home assistance, and housing was provided. Moreover, the space was divided according to their nature of use, the arrangement, the form of entrance into the building, moving line inside, the relationship with the health facilities and their characteristics are analyzed based on different users, managers, moving line including that of provision of food, the relationship between different spaces with different functions as well as on the relationship between locations of each space. 3. The total capacity, building area and actual area of the welfare facilities for the elderly are analyzed, and area per person, detailed area for each space, percentage of each living space for long-term care patients and characteristics of recuperation room are suggested.

  • Objectives The purpose of this study was to compare sleep quality and chronotype by Sasang constitution and examine the relationship with nutritional status. Methods This study used 672 follow-up data from the Korean Medicine Daejeon Citizen Cohort study (KDCC). Demographic, Sasang constitution, sleep quality, chronotype, and nutritional status evaluation were conducted based on questionnaires. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to confirm the relationship between sleep quality and chronotype according to Sasang constitution and nutritional status. Results The relationship between sleep quality and chronotype by Sasang constitution and nutritional status is that Taeeum nutritional index is related to sleep quality (adj. B = -0.46, 95% CI = -0.79 ~ -0.12) and chronotype (adj. B = 0.38, 95% CI = 0.24 ~ 0.52), and Soeum and Soyang showed an association between nutritional indices only in chronotype (adj. B = 0.43, 95% CI = 0.23 ~ 0.63 in SE, adj. B = 0.55, 95% CI = 0.38 to 0.73 in SY). Conclusions This study confirmed the relationship between sleep quality and chronotype and healthy eating habits. For a balanced nutritional status, overall sleep management is necessary. Based on the results of this study, we intend to use it as basic data on the impact of the relationship between nutritional status and chronotype by Sasang constitution on health.

In order to be competitive and sustainable spatial information service, existing "spatial information open platform" strategy needs to be transformed into "spatial information social platform". The requirement for the spatial information open platform to be socialized and evolved into the spatial information social platform is investigated with respect to the characteristics of social platform P. Savalle(2010) suggested. Based on the investigation, the definition of spatial information social platform is formulated. Several roles of the government as a platformer to create and manage the spatial information social platform are suggested.

  • This research aimed at measuring Park and Green Satisfaction (PGS) using subjective indicators of 'surface, line and spot' green evaluated by citizens. Also frequency of visits to park and green measured using objective indicators (number of visits) to find the relationship with PGS. A conceptual model of PGS was developed to relate evaluation to satisfaction and finally to utilization of open spaces. A sample of 500 questionnaire survey was employed for Uijeongbu City in Korea. A Structual Equation Modeling (AMOS) techniques was used to test the hypothesized relationship among factors (construct). As a result, first, PGS was explained by three latent factors of 'urban park' (${\gamma}=0.54$), 'linear facilities' (${\gamma}=0.25$), and 'surface green' (${\gamma}=0.15$) respectively. These three exogenous construct was found very useful classification system for open spaces of cities. Second, PGS (${\gamma}=0.34$) was found as a mediating variable to utilization of open spaces and also PGS was closely related to citizens Environmental Quality Satisfaction (EQS), such concept as, 'livability' and 'aesthetic quality'. The more satisfied with park and green the more people use the space. The PGS was an important QOL indicator together with the subjective indicator of 'livability'. Third, jogging and walking trails and bike ways along the river corridor was the most important green facilities contribute to the PGS and EQS. The near the distance (within 500m) the more number of visit to river corridor (green way). The river corridor promote accessibility to nature and other parks.
