In the past decade, East Asian Research has received attention from researchers as well as in South Korea society-at-large. The broad category of East Asian Research includes various disciplinary fields, such as "history, economics, and politics; however, few studies have used quantitative analysis to explore its development. In this paper, we used network analysis to identify the disciplines and active research areas, focusing on productivity, collaboration patterns, and citation networks of East Asian Research in South Korea. For this study, 6,646 journal publications related with East Asian Research and indexed by KCI (Korean Citation Index) during the 10-year period of 2004-2013 were considered. Results show that East Asian Research was led during this period by sole-researchers, rather than interdisciplinary studies. Moreover, a co-institution network represents active institutions with a high degree and collaborative centrality. In terms of journal-journal citation networks, journals belonging to both "history" and "Korean literature" disciplines were dominant.

이 연구에서는 연구자의 연구 이력을 분석하기 위해서 White(2000)가 제안한 인용 정체성과 Hellsten 등(2007)이 제안한 자기 인용 네트워크의 두 가지 최신 기법을 비교해보았다. 국내 대표적인 정보학자인 정영미의 연구 성과물을 대상으로 실험적인 분석을 수행해본 결과 두 기법에서 구분한 연구 시기가 동일하게 나뉘었으며 주요 연구 주제도 유사하게 파악되었다. 그러나 인용 정체성 지도에서는 주제영역별로 영향받은 주요 저자를 파악할 수 있는 반면에 자기 인용 네트워크에서는 시기별 핵심 문헌과 선도문헌이 식별되었다. 따라서 이 두 가지 기법을 상호보완적으로 사용할 때 연구자의 연구 이력에 대해서 풍부한 정보를 획득할 수 있다는 결론을 얻었다.

이 연구에서는 자관의 학술지 상호인용 및 동시인용 분석을 통하여 단순 피인용빈도 이상의 학술지 인용 패턴 분석을 시도 하였다. 이 연구를 통해 학술지의 중요도 파악에 있어서 자관 인용 네트워크의 구조적 분석이 인용빈도 이상의 자관 인용 패턴에 대한 설명을 하고 있는지와, Web of Science에서 제공하는 JIF 이외의 일반적 인용 지수 서비스들을 고려해야 할 필요성이 있는지를 살펴보았다. Y대학교 생명시스템대학 생명공학과 전.현직 교수진이 2006년과 2007년에 발표한 학술논문의 인용 네트워크 분석 및 Web of Science 이외의 일반적 인용 지수들간의 관계를 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 자관의 상호인용 네트워크를 통해 자관의 연구 분야를 확인할 수 있었다. 둘째, 자관의 동시인용 네트워크 지수들은 자관 인용 네트워크의 구조적 속성을 반영하는 인용 패턴의 설명이 가능하며 이는 피인용빈도와 유사하면서도 추가적인 설명력을 가지는 것을 확인하였다. 셋째, 일반적 인용지수로는 JIF 외에도 합산지향지수, h-index와 같은 다양한 일반적 인용 지수들의 설명력이 다양하므로 이를 이용하여 다각적으로 고려하는 것이 필요한 것으로 파악되었다. 또한 학술지 평가에서 인용 색인 데이터베이스의 수록범위보다는 지수의 유형에 따른 설명력 차이가 크다는 것을 확인하였다. 이와 같은 자관의 인용 네트워크 분석은 정보서비스의 여러 분야에서 유용하게 사용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

최근 지식기반 사회의 진입과 더불어 지식재산에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 특히 하이테크산업을 이끌고 있는 ICT기업들은 지식재산의 체계적 관리를 위하여 끊임없이 노력하고 있다. 기업의 지적 자본을 대표하는 특허정보가 지속적으로 축적됨에 따라 정량적인 분석이 가능해졌다. 특허정보를 통하여 특허수준부터 기업수준, 산업수준, 국가수준에 이르기 까지 다양한 수준에서의 분석이 가능하다. 특허정보는 기술 현황을 파악하거나 성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하는데 활용되고 있다. 네트워크를 통한 분석은 지식 영향의 흐름을 나타내며, 이를 통하여 기술의 변화를 확인할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 앞으로의 연구 방향을 예측할 수 있다. 네트워크를 활용한 분석 분야에서는 기업이 차지하는 네트워크상에서의 위치가 기업성과에 미치는 영향을 다각도에서 분석하는 연구가 진행되고 있다. 특허 인용 정보를 활용한 분석은 크게 두 가지로, 인용 횟수를 활용하는 인용지표 분석과 인용관계를 바탕으로 한 네트워크 분석으로 나뉜다. 본 연구는 기업간 규모의 차이가 기업 간 특허 인용 관계에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 하였다. S&P 500에 등록된 IT 및 통신서비스를 제공하는 74개 기업을 선정하였으며 기업 간 특허 인용 관계를 구하기 위하여 2009년, 2010년의 특허 인용 정보를 수집하여 기업 간 특허 인용 관계를 나타냈다. 또한 기업규모를 대표하는 지표로 기업 총 자산에 대한 정보를 수집하였다. 기업규모에 따라 외부 지식에 대한 의존도가 달라지는 선행연구를 통하여 기업규모가 기업간 특허 인용 관계에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 이에 기업 간 총 자산의 차이에 절대값을 취한 값을 기업 간 거리로 정의하였으며, 기업 간 규모의 단순 차이를 기업 간 계층으로 정의하여 새로운 소시오매트릭스를 생성하였다. 2010년도 기업간 특허 인용 관계를 나타낸 소시오매트릭스를 종속변수로 하였으며, 2009년도 기업 간 특허 인용 네트워크, 기업 간 거리 및 계층을 독립변수로 하여 QAP분석 및 MR-QAP분석을 실시하였다. QAP분석 결과 기업 간 거리와 계층은 특허 인용 관계에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. MR-QAP분석에는 2009년도 기업 간 특허 인용 관계와 기업 간 거리만 유의함을 확인할 수 있었다. 특히 2009년도 기업 간 특허 인용 관계가 2010년도 기업 간 특허 인용 관계에 가장 큰 영향력을 행사하는 것을 볼 수 있어 기업 간 특허 인용관계는 연속성이 존재하는 것으로 볼 수 있었다.

Purpose This study intended to introduce new approaches to identify the intellectual structure of supply chain management(SCM) researches, which combines author co-citation analysis(ACA) and social network analysis(SNA). Design/methodology/approach We searched RISS(www.riss.kr) and NDSL(www.ndsl.or.kr) database and collected 292 academic papers on supply chain management between 2001 and 2011. Among 9,637 references of these papers, we analyzed 1,848 references that were published by domestic authors. We produced a correlation matrix of 32 author co-citation matrix and conducted multi-variate statistical analysis such as factor analysis. We also performed social network analysis to identify the main researchers in SCM. Findings We found four main sub-areas of supply chain management research: SCM adoption factors, logistics, SCM performance, and SCM structure. We could present the authors who played important roles within the network by using SNA indicators. The finding of this research also suggests more collaborations among domestic researchers are required to overcome the low co-citation rates among domestic authors.

One of the distinctive characteristics of industrial engineering (IE) is its multidisciplinarity. This paper explores the multidisciplinary nature of IE using journal citation network analysis. Using the relatedness indexes of IE journals obtained from journal citation report (JCR), we firstly construct the IE network only composed of 26 IE journals. The resulting IE network is partitioned into three sub-networks: management engineering, manufacturing/quality, and ergonomics. We then propose the IE convergence network which includes 81 related journals in other disciplines as well as 26 IE journals. Scrutinizing the IE convergence network reveals that IE has a high degree of interactions with seven disciplines : Operations Research and Management Science, Statistics and Probability, Manufacturing Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering Design, Business Management, Human Factors and Ergonomics. We investigate the contributions of the related disciplines to IE as well as contributions of IE to the related disciplines. The role of IE journals in exchanging knowledge with related disciplines is also identified by brokerage analysis. It is shown that visualizing and analyzing the IE convergence network can provide an excellent overview of the multidisciplinary structure of IE, which can help IE researchers easily grasp the state-of-the art of IE research.

최근 지식기반 사회의 진입과 더불어 지식재산에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 특히 하이테크산업을 이끌고 있는 ICT기업들은 지식재산의 체계적 관리를 위하여 끊임없이 노력하고 있다. 기업의 지적 자본을 대표하는 특허정보가 지속적으로 축적됨에 따라 정량적인 분석이 가능해졌다. 특허정보를 통하여 특허수준부터 기업수준, 산업수준, 국가 수준에 이르기 까지 다양한 수준에서의 분석이 가능하다. 특허정보는 기술 현황을 파악하거나 성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하는데 활용되고 있다. 특허 인용 정보를 활용한 분석은 크게 두 가지로, 인용 횟수를 활용하는 인용지표 분석과 인용관계를 바탕으로 한 네트워크분석으로 나뉜다. 네트워크를 통한 분석은 지식 영향의 흐름을 나타내며, 이를 통하여 기술의 변화를 확인할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 앞으로의 연구 방향을 예측할 수 있다. 네트워크를 활용한 분석 분야에서는 기업이 차지하는 네트워크상에서의 위치가 기업성과에 미치는 영향을 다각도에서 분석하는 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 소셜네트워크분석 기법을 활용하여 특허 인용을 기반으로 한 기업 간의 네트워크를 도출하고 특허 인용 네트워크에서 차지하는 기업의 위치적 특성이 기업성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 미국 S&P500에 등록된 IT 및 통신서비스 기업 가운데 74개 기업을 표본으로 선정하였다. 소셜네트워크분석을 통하여 개별 기업들의 아웃디그리 중심성, 매개 중심성, 효율성(구조적 공백)을 측정하여 네트워크 상에서의 위치적 우위를 나타내는 독립변수로서 이용하였으며, 기업성과 변수로는 순이익을 사용하였다. 실증 분석 결과, 각각의 네트워크 지표는 기업성과인 순이익에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 두 가지 중심성 지표는 기업성과에 정(+)의 영향을 미친 반면, 구조적 공백으로 인한 위치적 우위를 나타내는 효율성은 기업성과에 부정적(-)인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 세 가지 네트워크 지표를 동시에 고려할 경우에는 매개 중심성만이 기업성과에 대해 통계적 유의성을 보였다. 분석 결과를 토대로 연구의 발견점을 토의하고 시사점을 논의하였다.

Exploring research similarity of researchers offers insight on research communities and potential interactions among scholars. While co-authorship is a popular measure for studying research similarity of researchers, it cannot provide insight on authors who have not collaborated yet. In this work, we present novel approach to capture research similarity of authors using citation information. Extensive study is conducted on DATA & KNOWLEDGE ENGINEERING (DKE) publications to demonstrate and compare suggested approach with co-authorship based approach. Analysis result shows that proposed approach distinguishes author relationships that is not shown in co-authorship network.

본 연구는 인용 네트워크 분석을 통해 국내 문헌정보학 분야의 주요 학술지간의 인용관계를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국학술지인용색인에 기재된 국내 문헌정보학 분야 4개 학술지의 논문 4,471편과 이 논문들을 인용한 18,424건의 인용정보를 수집하여 학술지간 인용네트워크 분석을 수행하였다. 문헌정보학 분야에서 인용을 가장 많이 받았던 학술지는 한국문헌정보학회지로, 한국문헌정보학회지의 주요 연구주제들이 인용을 통해 문헌정보학 내부 연구 분야에 영향을 주고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 한국문헌정보학회지와 한국도서관·정보학회지의 상호인용이 많았으며, 정보관리학회지의 연구주제 중 연구동향분석이나 지적구조분석과 관련된 연구들이 문헌정보학 이외의 분야로부터 많은 인용을 받아, 문헌정보학 외부의 영역에 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 파악되었다.

A citation analysis utilizes the relations among citations and is the most popular bibliometric method. This analysis is based on 1) the evaluation by paper, journal and researcher of the research output, 2) the identification of emerging research topics, 3) the production of a map of the intellectual structure of the research domain and 4) various services for academic information. However, this approach has a limitation in that a citation is treated in a very simple manner, even though the purpose of citation can vary greatly. To address this problem, new approaches have been studied that take into account the citation context. This research separates the citations according to the citation functions and tries to conduct an analysis according to the newly classified citations. Furthermore, research on the citation summarization and visualization based on both the citation context and the citation function of the citations was also attempted. However, since there are very few studies related to citation context in South Korea, more research and development is needed in this area. This study analyzes the status of the research in terms of the citation context. For this, we utilized social network analysis methods.
