컴퓨터과학 분야 국제 공동연구의 세계적 추세 및 한국의 협력 방안 연구 (A Study on the global trend of international collaborations in the field of Computer Science and collaboration strategies for Korea)

  • 국제 공동연구의 중요성이 커짐에 따라 국제 공동연구 현황을 파악하고자 하는 요구가 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 국제 협력 관련 연구가 다각적으로 진행되고 있으나, 대량 데이터를 이용한 정량적 분석으로 이를 살펴본 연구는 많지 않은 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 SCOPUS 데이터베이스에 수록된 컴퓨터과학 분야 논문을 이용해 협력국가와의 국제협력친화지수(Probabilistic Affinity Index)와 국제협력강도지수(Indicator of Collaboration Strength), 국제 공동연구의 효과를 측정하는 인용영향력 증분(Incremental Citation Impact)을 측정하였다. 본 연구는 이러한 정량적 분석을 통해 컴퓨터과학 분야의 국제 공동연구의 추이와 효과를 파악하고자 함에 그 목적이 있다.

주요국의 학문분야별 과학연구의 영향력 분석 (International Impact of Scientific Research of Major Countries)

  • 본 논문은 과학연구의 국제적 영향력이 학문분야별로 어떻게 차이가 있는지를 분석하고 그 의미를 검토하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위해 주요국이 연구개발 투자로 얻은 과학연구의 산출, 즉 과학논문에 대한 피인용도가 가장 높은 논문(HCP)을 추출하여 국가 단위에서 연구수준을 측정하고 이를 학문분야별로 국제적 관점에서 비교하고자 한다. 이를 통해 과학연구 산출의 영향력이 국제적으로 얼마나 불균등한 상태에 있는지를 검토한다. 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 결론과 시사점을 도출하고 연구의 한계와 추후 과제를 제시한다.

Technological Convergence of IT and BT: Evidence from Patent Analysis

  • In recent innovation trends, one notable feature is the merging and overlapping of technologies: in other words, technological convergence. A key technological convergence is the fusion of biotechnology (BT) and information technology (IT). Major IT advances have led to innovative devices that allow us to advance BT. However, the lack of data on IT-BT convergence is a major impediment: relatively little research has analyzed the inter-disciplinary relationship of different industries. We propose a systematic approach to analyzing the technological convergence of BT and IT. Patent analysis, including citation and co-classification analyses, was adopted as a main method to measure the convergence intensity and coverage, and two portfolio matrices were developed to manage the technological convergence. The contribution of this paper is that it provides practical evidences for IT-BT convergence, based on quantitative data and systematic processes. This has managerial implications for each sector of IT and BT.

경혈 조사를 중심으로 본 고출력 Yttrium Aluminum Garnet (YAG) 레이저의 활용 (Utilizing the Application of High-Intensity Yttrium Aluminum Garnet (YAG) Lasers Focused on Acupoint Irradiation)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate on the application of the yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG) lasers for acupoints irradiation. Methods : We conducted a systematic search for peer-reviewed studies published from inception to November 2023, in the following electronic databases: PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science in English, Science ON, Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System (OASIS) and Research Information Sharing Service (RISS) in Korean, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and Wanfang in Chinese, and Japan Science Technology Information Aggregator, Electronic (J-STAGE) and Citation Information by NII (CiNii) in Japanese. Inclusion criteria were original articles including clinical and experimental studies related with YAG lasers for acupoints including Ashi or meridian sinews. Results : Among the 8 selected studies, there were 7 studies on human subjects and 1 study on animals, 7 studies on Nd:YAG (1,064 nm) laser, and 1 study on Er:YAG (2,940 nm) laser. A total of 16 acupoints were used, 15 of which were in the face and 1 of which was located in the foot. In addition, there were two studies using Ashi. 4 studies looked at the effect of pain relief, 2 studies looked at safety, 1 study looked at changes in blood flow, and 1 study looked at the effect of skin care. There were no reported adverse events, and the YAG laser was confirmed to be safe and effective in pain relief, beautifying the skin, and increasing blood flow. Conclusions : We suggest that high intensity YAG lasers can be applied to laser acupuncture or laser moxibustion. YAG lasers are considered to be worth using for various clinical indications of Korean medicine because of photobiomodulation effects, analgesic action, and deep penetration depth. Further scientific research and clinical evidences should be warranted.

특허인용정보 기반의 연구집중도 분석에 관한 연구: 구글의 자율주행자동차 기술 중심으로 (A Study on Analysis of R&D Intensity based on Patent Citation Information: Case Study on Self-driving Car of Google)

  • 자율주행자동차는 자동차 스스로가 도로 위의 상황을 분석하고 판단하여 움직이는 인공지능과 자동차가 결합된 형태이다. 자율주행자동차에 대한 연구결과가 최근 언론을 통해 공개가 되고 있으며, 선두기업으로 구글이 평가받고 있다. 기술경영에서 기업의 연구개발방향 파악 및 개발전략수립을 위해 다양한 정보를 포함하고 있는 특허정보의 활용은 좋은 대안으로 평가받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 구글의 자율주행자동차에 대한 집중연구방향 파악 및 기술개발전략수립을 위해 구글의 자율주행자동차 관련 특허문서를 대상으로 문헌의 질적 측면을 평가할 수 있는 인용정보를 이용하여 사회네트워크분석 기반의 연구집중도 분석을 수행한다. 분석결과, 구글에서는 하드웨어 분야에 대한 기술이 미흡하여 최근까지 하드웨어 제어부분에 대한 기술개발에 집중한 것을 확인할 수 있으며, 현재 이 기술에 대하여 상당한 성과를 이룬 것으로 파악된다. 후발 기업에서는 향후 표준화를 대비하여 구글과의 공동연구를 진행하는 것이 필요할 것으로 예상된다.

계량정보분석 기반의 연구개발 성과분석 : 치매 치료용 천연약물 분야 (Research Performance Evaluation Based on Quantitative Information Analysis in the Field of Herbal Medicine for Dementia Treatment)

  • Objectives : Trend of R&D of herbal medicine for dementia treatment was examined based on the quantitative information analysis for establishing the national strategy of research on dementia treatment with oriental medicine. Methods : Definition was made to clarify the technology for development of herbal medicine for dementia treatment. Based on the initial keyword provided by experts in the field, queries were compounded to conduct search in the search engines of WoS and DWPI. The raw data (papers or patents) extracted from the initial search were examined by expert-review before objects of analysis were determined. Then, the accumulated data was analyzed in terms of year, country and organization, which led to examination of the trend of R&D. And the research performance evaluation for dementia treatment technologies was also made in terms of country, organization and researcher based on the forward citation analysis. The international cooperation intensity was examined on the basis of analysis of network by researcher before analysis results were put together to select lead researchers. Results : According to the quantitative information analysis of 1,330 articles that were selected as analysis objects, the number of papers on natural products research for dementia treatment has increased by around 4.6 times in recent five years. This indicates that the intensive studies have been underway recently. It was found to be the US that had the highest level in research filed of herbal medicine for dementia treatment and the highest capacity of international cooperation for that purpose. On the contrary, Korea had the share of papers at 5.1%, the number of countries in cooperation research at 8, and the article quality index at 0.40, showing that the qualitative level was insufficient, compared to the quantitative outcome. In particular, Korea was found to have no intensity of international cooperation among researchers. In case of patent, the results of information analysis of 305 patents selected as analysis objects demonstrated that China had the highest share while Korea had the very low frequency of patent application quantitatively. Conclusions : In this study, the research to develop herbal medicine for dementia treatment has recently drawn much attention that has spread around the globe. Therefore, these results suggest establishing the strategy to develop technology for dementia treatment with oriental medicine in the future based on quantitative information analysis.
