  • We tested for pesticide residues in 124 samples of 22 different items of imported fruits circulated in Gyeonggido. Total 218 pesticides were analyzed by multi-residue method using gas chromatography/nitrogen phosphorus detector-electron capture detector (GC/NPD-ECD), time of flight/mass spectrometer (TOF/MS), ultra performance liquid chromatography/photo diode array (UPLC/PDA), high performance liquid chromatography/fluorescence detector (HPLC/FLD) and mass spectrometer (LC/MS/MS). The pesticides were detected in 18 fruits samples, ranging 0.003~0.3 mg/kg and no samples had violative residue. The separation test to 14 sample pesticides detected was conducted to monitor the current status of pesticide residues according to the partial characteristic. The pesticides were detected in 14 peels ranging 0.03~1.5 mg/kg and 2 fleshes in less than detection limits. These results indicate that imported fruits are safe when the human takes normally but even the small amount of pesticides is harmful when the human takes it in a prolonged period. Therefore, the pesticide residual amounts of imported friuts should be constantly monitored for food safety.

  • This study was aimed to investigate the current status and expectations of orphan drugs in Korea. The Korea Orphan Drug Center was established to supply many medicines for the patients with rare diseases. Among the medicines supplied by the Center, the number designated as the orphan drugs by the KFDA is quite few. However, a few of medicines are not under circulation even if the items are designated as the orphan drugs. Neoplasm-related medicines, infectious and parasitic disease-related medicines, endocrine, nutritional and metabolic disease-related medicines are the ones circulated most. There are several unapproved drugs among the medicines supplied by the Center. It's because the director of the Center can import the goods without a process to getting an approval from the KFDA. The Korea Orphan Drug Center has contributed to the selection of the medicines for treating the rare disease. On the contrary, some problems remain in the supply process. The safety and effectiveness of the medicines supplied by the Center are not guaranteed. So far, rare diseases have no specific legal definition, and therefore are only referred to in terms of the population of patients, which prevent from establishing the range of medicines. The introduction of Special Access Program or Access to Unapproved Therapeutic Goods will be the solution of these problems. In addition, it is another solution to keep intimate relations with the Rare and Intractable Disease Center and the Medicine Safety Information Center which will be open soon.

  • This study attempts to propose a priority of national nutrition targets and strategies for health promotion by the year 2000 in Korea, as a part of the task set for national health promotion objectives and strategies. Among all of the important health issues raised, ten were chosen, nutrition was one priority area. In the first part, the current status of the nutrition-related health problems and risk factors are reviewed, in conjunction with the newly arisen health phenomena, such as changes in prevalence of lifestyle disease and causes of death, changes of food consumption patterns in our country. In the second section this study suggests six feasible national nutrition targets, eight implementing strategies and current major tasks on the basis of the assessment of present status and in consideration of the other health promotion goals and strategies, with reference to that of other developed countries. The main targets and strategies are suggested as follows ; Firstly, the national nutrition monitoring and surveillance system should be established for identifying the nutritional problems for our people, and current National Nutrition Survey is a strong need for improvement to a more comprehensive and reliable one. Secondly, effective administrative mechanism should be operation at national level for the development of nutrition policy. Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) as well as local health department must be remarkably renewed and strengthened the nutrition section. And it is recommended that MOHW organize and operate “The Council of Nutrition”, in which all government authorities related with foodstuffs and nutrition would incorporated. The Council of Nutrition would act as an adjustor as well as a coordinator in nutrition related policy-making. Thirdly, healthy eating pattern will be supported by activities of introducing a nutrition labeling for providing consumers with the necessary information and skills for food selection. Fourthly, nutrition education, and nutrition intervention programs will be carried out in various settings such as health centers, schools, and clinical fields and workplace. Fifthly, the current dietary guidelines shall be continuously improved in detail, and publicly circulated to particular levels of people by age group and by health condition. And finally, researches and epidemiological studies particularly in regard to diet for development of chronic diseases are needed for more investigation and up-to-date national health and nutrition data should be collected with the support and cooperation from the various medical professional teams . • "Information", which is circulated in society by information technology development represented by computer, has brought innovation not only to physical civilization, but also deep into our daily lives. This is to say that information has brought fundamental change to its form of existence, and value system through being faster regarding the circulation and the way of management being diverse. As time goes by, this kind of change would stimulate more changes to be made as the development of scientific civilization. Therefore, informatization is one of the important characteristic that defines modern society's essence, but on the other side, information has been taken advantage of that temperament and abused in a lot of different ways. "The Law Regarding Computer Network Diffusion Expansion and Usage Promotion"(1986), as a counterplan of informatization is our nation's first Act about informatization, which enacts national policy and system about this issue. Since then, many laws has been enacted down to "Private Information Protection Act"(2011), forming a comprehensive system. The basic background of these laws are based upon the premise that even if the place where the information is managed is virtual space, rules that are considered valid in the real world should be basically applied in the virtual space. Therefore, the violation of the law in the real world is also considered the violation in the virtual space. This direction of current law regarding information is shared with both the theories and the reality. However, current law system and notion are based upon the premise that the law regards material objects, thus the characteristic of the information, which is "Immaterial Being" is not reflected. Also, the management and approach to this issue is allopathic, exposing many problems. Thus, this paper examines the way of protecting information stipulated in the current law, contemplates its protection scope and limitation, and seeks the direction of the improvement, based on the critical mind explained above.

  • This study aims to define the concept of the futuristic image in fashion since 2000. In this study, earlier studies of the futuristic images in the fashion are analyzed and it is discovered that the most important characteristics of the futuristic images are the cosmic space and virtual reality. An analysis of actual data of the futuristic images of the fashion since 2000 produces the following conclusions. First, since 2000 the futuristic fashion to convey the image of space tends to be minimalist, taking H or A silhouette and using white, silver, or other vivid colors. Second, since 2000 the image of virtual reality is often expressed in the fashion of futuristic image as female fighters or vampires of the future who mostly wear pants suit or skirts that expose the body line. Materials of advanced technology or shiny leather are often used and dark colors including black are dominant in these images. Third, when the space image is expressed, the androgynous youth is emphasized. However when female fighters or vampires of the future are shown, sexual image of gloomy atmosphere is often stressed. Fourth, the fashion of futuristic image since 2000 takes up the space age look of the 1960s and the techno-cyber look of the 1980s and the 1990s. However their internal meanings are lost and only external forms are repeated. In sum, the current fashion of futuristic image emulates the past look of the fashion which was circulated as futuristic images and may be considered as a result of combination of futuristic image and retrospective image.

  • Objectives: This study is designed to survey the current status of trade secrets in GHS MSDS circulated in workplaces and indicate problems in the chemical information system. According to the survey results, we suggest management plans including political improvement of the trade secret system for MSDS and technical support to workplaces following enhanced chemical communication. Methods: To review this subject, we selected 153 manufacturers and six importers working in such fields as organic chemical production. We then investigated the retention status of GHS MSDS, application of trade secrets, and the content of trade secret components in MSDSs for mixtures. Results and Conclusions: Within the results, the content of trade secret ingredients was 67.4% (single: 9.0%, mixture: 75.6%). This is an increase compared with the previous results of 45.5% in 2011. Among 59,393 GHS MSDSs, 74.5% had ingredients less than 10% trade secret components, 19.1% had 10-30%, 1.8% had 30-50%, and 4.6% had more than 50%. To settle this issue, we recommend registration or evaluation of trade secrets as implemented in advanced countries. Also, business should be required to undergo regular evaluations of application status for trade secrets in workplace GHS MSDS.

  • According to the current legislation in Korea, some of national R&D reports cannot be disclosed or registered, when they need external security or the interested parties require them to be classified for a certain period of time. Therefore, there are some effects on the collection and circulation of information about R&D reports. Since those closed national R&D reports are the important outcomes from national R&D projects, they should be properly open, circulated and used by the public, when the reasons for closing those reports are removed. This study examines the present condition of the closure system of national R&D reports, and proposes a plan for collecting and utilizing the closed national R&D reports at the national level.

  • In chip plating, several parameters must be taken into consideration. Current density, solution concentration, pH, solution temperature, components volume, chip and media ratio, barrel geometrical shape were most likely found to have an effect to the process yields. The 3 types of barrels utilized in chip plating industry are the onventional rotating barrel, vibrational barrel(vibarrel), and the centrifugal type. Conventional rotating barrel is a close type and is commonly used. The components inside the barrel are circulated by the barrel's rotation at a horizontal axis. Process yield has known to have higher thickness deviation. The vibrational barrel is an open type which offers a wide exposure to electrolyte resulting to a stable thickness deviation. It rotates in a vertical axis coupled with multi-vibration action to facilitate mixed up and easy transportation of components. The centrifugal barrel has its plated work centrifugally compacted against the cathode ring for superior electrical contact with simultaneous rotary motion. This experiment has determined the effect of barrel vibration intensity to the plating thickness distribution. The procedures carried out in the experiment involved the overall plating process., cleaning, rinse, Nickel plating, Tin-Lead plating. Plating time was adjusted to meet the required specification. All other parameters were maintained constant. Two trials were performed to confirm the consistency of the result. The thickness data of the experiment conducted showed thatbthe average mean value obtained from higher vibrational intensity is nearer to the standard mean. The distribution curve shown has a narrower specification limits and it has a reduced variation around the target value. Generally, intensity control in vi-barrel facilitates mixed up and easy transportation of components. However, it is desirable to maintain an optimum vibration intensity to prevent solution intrusion into the chips' internal electrode. A cathodic reaction can occur in the interface of the external and internal electrode. 2H20 + e $\rightarrow$M/TEX> 20H + H2.. Hydrogen can penetrate into the body and create pressure which can cause cracks. At high intensity, the chip's motion becomes stronger, its contact between each other is delayed and so plating action is being controlled. However, the strong impact created by its collision can damage the external electrode's structure there by resulting to bad plating condition.
