Objects : This study was to report a clinical effect of Korean Treatment for a patient diagnosed by Computed Tomography as Cervical Spinal Stenosis with Ossification of posterior Longitudinal Ligament. Methods : In order to alleviate left shoulder pain and neck stiffness, the patient was treated by acupuncture therapy, herbal medicine, distilled herbal injection, cervical traction technique of Chuna treatment and conservative managements. To evaluate the effect of the treatment, Recovery rate of Hirabayashi, VAS(Visual Anlaogue Scale), NDI and ROM(Range of Motion) were used. Lhermitte's sign, Valsalva test, Distraction test, Compression test and Spurling test were carried out. Results : VAS, NDI and ROM were improved and Recovery rate was 100%. Conclusions : Korean Treatment can be effectively used for a patient with Cervical Spinal Stenosis with OPLL. Further clinical studies are needed to verify the findings.

Methods: In order to alleviate shoulder pain and neck stiffness, the patient was treated by acupuncture therapy, herbal medicine, pharmacopucture, cervical traction technique of Chuna treatment and conservative managements. To evaluate the effect of the treatment, Recovery rate of Hirabayashi, VAS(Visual Analogue Scale), NDI and ROM(Range of Motion) were used. Objectives : This study was to report the improvement of the patient with multiple sclerosis treated by Korean Medical treatment. Methods : The patient diagnosed as multiple sclerosis treated by acupuncture, bee venom pharmacupuncture, chuna manual therapy, and herbal medicine. To evaluate the effects of korean medicine, we used manual muscle test(MMT), the standard for assessment of the effect of stroke treatment, functional system(FS), visual analog scale(VAS). Results : 1. The patient's pain and optic dysfunction were reduced by the above therapy. 2. There was no change in manual muscle test(MMT), but there was mild improvement in finger joints function in the standard for assessment of the effect of stroke treatment. 3. In functional system(FS) scale, there was enhancement in optic function within a range. And there was improvement in expanded disability statue scale(EDSS) from 4.0 to 3.0. 4. In visual analog scale(VAS), there was considerable improvement from 9 to 6. Conclusions : The korean medical treatment was reduced pain and optic dysfunction.

Two patients with sequelae of peripheral facial nerve palsy were treated with Facial Chuna Manual Therapy (FCMT) and acupuncture over 6 months. The House-Brackmann (HB) scale, facial nerve grading system 2.0 (FNGS), the scale of Peitersen, the scale of Murata, and the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) were used to assess the effects of treatment. The HB scale, FNGS and NRS scores showed improvement for both patients (Case 1: HB scale 5 to 3, FNGS 4 to 2, NRS 10 to 5; Case 2: HB scale 5 to 3, FNGS 4 to 3, NRS 10 to 2.5) following 6 months of treatment. The scores for the Peitersen and Murata scales showed improvement over 6 months in Case 1 (Peitersen 2 to 1, Murata 10 to 7), but there was no change in Case 2 over the test period (4 months). FCMT and acupuncture may help patients with sequelae of facial palsy.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to assess the use of Korean medicine for treating radial nerve palsy. Methods : We searched for studies on the use of Korean medicine for the treatment of radial nerve palsy in 7 electronic databases and analyzed these studies. Results : We found 95 studies on radial nerve palsy from 7 electronic databases. We excluded 77 duplicate studies, 1 review article and 2 studies published before 2000. As a result, 15 case studies(36 patients) were included. Acupuncture(15 times), electroacupuncture(6 times), pharmacopuncture(9 times), herbal medicine(11 times), physical therapy(10 times), moxibustion(3 times), cupping therapy(1 time), chuna manual therapy(1 time) and yinyang balancing appliance(1 time) were used. LI11 for acupuncture, LI4, LI11 for electroacupuncture, bee venom as pharmacopuncture material and LI4, LI10, LI11 in pharmacopuncture point, Boik-tang gami as herbal medicine, hot pack for physical therapy, LI4, LI11 for moxibustion were the most frequently used. Conclusions : Korean medicine treatment for radial nerve palsy has been performed in various ways. However, we found limited evidence regarding Korean medicine for radial nerve palsy. Thus, we think various types of studies including more case reports, for radial nerve palsy should be performed in the future.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Dang Dang integrated corrective therapy including myofascial release, chuna therapy, and exercise therapy on height, muscle mass, body fat, and body water in patients with body imbalance. The secondary aim was to investigate whether the percent of change in height, muscle mass, body fat, and body water varied by age group. Methods : In total, 279 patients with body imbalance between the ages of 10 and 79 were recruited at hospitals. All participants had Dang Dang integrated corrective therapy including myofascial release, chuna therapy, and exercise therapy. The patients' height, muscle mass, body fat, and body water were measured before and after Dang Dang integrated corrective therapy using InBody. Results : The height, muscle mass, and body water significantly increased after Dang Dang integrated corrective therapy in all age groups except for the 70~79 age group and body fat significantly decreased (p < .05). The age group comparison of the percent change in height, muscle mass, and body water showed significant differences (p < .05). In the post hoc test, the percent change of height in the 10~19 age group was significantly greater than in the other age groups except for the 70~79 age group. The percent change of muscle mass and body water in the 10~19 age group was significantly greater than in the 30~39 age group. Conclusion : These findings suggest that applying Dang Dang integrated corrective therapy to patients with body imbalance, excluding patients aged 70~79, may be a useful method to increase height, muscle mass, and body water and decrease body fat through spinal and joint realignment. The best results were observed in teenagers.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of spinal cord stimulation acupuncture therapy for lower limb numbness resulting from lumbar herniated intervertebral disc(HlVD). Methods : From 8th August, 2015 to 30th October, 2015, 1 male patient diagnosed as herniated intervertebral disc at L5/S1(Diffuse bulging disc with smooth ventral thecal sac indentation at L5-S1) was treated with spinal cord stimulation acupuncture and general Korean medicine therapy(acupuncture, herbal injection). Numerical Rating Scale(NRS) and Oswestry Disability Index(ODI) were recorded during the treatment. Results : 1. The patient's chief complaints were remarkably improved - Rt. lower limb numbness remained 15% compared before treatment, Rt. lower limb paresthesia and gait disturbance almost disappeared after 25 times of treatment during 3 months. 2. NRS score decreased from 7 to 3, ODI decreased from 16 to 7. Conclusions : This study demonstrates that spinal cord stimulation acupuncture therapy with Korean medicine treatment has notable effect in improving lower limb numbness induced by lumbar HlVD.

Fibromyalgia(FMS) is a heterogeneous construct of chronic and widespread musculoskeletal pain that is frequently associated with sleep difficulties, fatigue, and other adjunctive symptoms. This article aims to review the literature on the theory and treatment for fibromyalgia in the chinese language article. chinese language aricles In wanfang data between 2001 and 2004 were reviewed. this result of research demonstrate that Acupuncture, Negative Pressure Therapy(Buhang), the Electrical Acupuncture Stimulation Therapy. Acupoints TENS are applied to treatment for fibromyalgia and these therapic managements of chinese medicine are more effective than western drug treatment.

The aim of this study is to estimate clinical outcome of Conservative treatment for patients with Herniated Intervertebral Disc(HIVD) of lumbar spine. We investigated the 33 cases of Inpatients who were diagnosed as the HIVD of L-Spine and were treated Acupuncture therapy, Herb-medicine, Bee-vom treatment in Oriental Medicine Hospital from March 1, 2005 to November 31, 2005. We evaluated the subjective symptoms by Visual Analogue Scale, Hudgin's classification and follow-up of Activity Daily Living status. The improvement index showed that the oriental medical conservative therapy improved the symptom of HIVD effectively.
