  • In this paper, the problem of axisymmetric deformation of the circular membrane fixed at its perimeter under the action of uniformly-distributed loads was resolved by exactly using power series method, and the solution of the problem was presented. An investigation into the so-called Hencky transformation was carried out, based on the solution presented here. The results obtained here indicate that the well-known Hencky solution is, without doubt, correct, but in the published papers the statement about its derivation is incorrect, and the so-called Hencky transformation is invalid and hence may not be extended to use as a general mathematical method.

  • Identifying the load and mutual inductance is essential for improving the power transfer capability and power transfer efficiency of Inductive Power Transfer (IPT) systems. In this paper, a steady-state load and mutual inductance identification method focusing on series-parallel compensated IPT systems is proposed. The identification model is established according to the steady-state characteristics of the system. Furthermore, two sets of identification results are obtained, and then they are analyzed in detail to eliminate the untrue one. In addition, the identification method can be achieved without extra circuits so that it does not increase the complexity of the system or the control difficulty. Finally, the feasibility of the proposed method has been verified by simulation and experimental results.

  • In this study, the problem of axisymmetric deformation of prestressed $F{\ddot{o}}ppl-Hencky$ membrane under constrained deflecting was analytically solved and its closed-form solution was presented. The small-rotation-angle assumption usually adopted in membrane problems was given up, and the initial stress in membrane was taken into account. Consequently, this closed-form solution has higher calculation accuracy and can be applied for a wider range in comparison with the existing approximate solution. The presented numerical examples demonstrate the validity of the closed-form solution, and show the errors of the contact radius, profile and radial stress of membrane in the existing approximate solution brought by the small-rotation-angle assumption. Moreover, the influence of the initial stress on the contact radius is also discussed based on the numerical examples.

  • Blind restoration for motion-blurred images is always the research hotspot, and the key for the blind restoration is the accurate blur kernel (BK) estimation. Therefore, to achieve high-quality blind image restoration, this thesis presents a novel windowed-total-variation method. The proposed method is based on the spatial scale of edges but not amplitude, and the proposed method thus can extract useful image edges for accurate BK estimation, and then recover high-quality clear images. A large number of experiments prove the superiority.

  • A novel interference isolation method is proposed by using several designed coils in capacitive power transfer systems as isolation impedances. For each designed coil, its stray parameters such as the inter-turn capacitance, coil resistance and capacitance between the coil and the core, etc. are taken into account. An equivalent circuit model of the designed coil is established. According to this equivalent circuit, the impedance characteristic of the coil is calculated. In addition, the maximum impedance point and the corresponding excitation frequency of the coil are obtained. Based on this analysis, six designed coils are adopted to isolate the interference from power delivery. The proposed method is verified through experiments with a power carrier frequency of 1MHz and a data carrier frequency of 8.7MHz. The power and data are transferred parrallelly with a data carrier attenuation lower than -5dB and a power attenuation on the sensing resistor higher than -45dB.

  • The purpose of this work is to solve the problem of representing an entire video using Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) features for human action recognition. Recently, due to insufficient GPU memory, it has been difficult to take the whole video as the input of the CNN for end-to-end learning. A typical method is to use sampled video frames as inputs and corresponding labels as supervision. One major issue of this popular approach is that the local samples may not contain the information indicated by the global labels and sufficient motion information. To address this issue, we propose a binary hashing method to enhance the local feature extractors. First, we extract the local features and aggregate them into global features using maximum/minimum pooling. Second, we use the binary hashing method to capture the motion features. Finally, we concatenate the hashing features with global features using different normalization methods to train the classifier. Experimental results on the JHMDB and MPII-Cooking datasets show that, for these new local features, binary hashing mapping on the sparsely sampled features led to significant performance improvements.

  • This paper proposes a payment-based power control scheme using non-cooperative game with a novel pricing function in cognitive radio networks (CRNs). The proposed algorithm considers the fairness of power control among second users (SUs) where the value of per SU' signal to noise ratio (SINR) or distance between SU and SU station is used as reference for punishment price setting. Due to the effect of uncertainty fading environment, the system is unable to get the link gain coefficient to control SUs' transmission power accurately, so the quality of service (QoS) requirements of SUs may not be guaranteed, and the existence of Nash equilibrium (NE) is not ensured. Therefore, an alternative iterative scheme with sliding model is presented for the non-cooperative power control game algorithm. Simulation results show that the pricing policy using SUs' SINR as price punishment reference can improve total throughput, ensure fairness and reduce total transmission power in CRNs.

  • Aggregation of titania nanotubes (TNTs) fabricated by hydrothermal method were calcined in air and dry nitrogen; Changes in morphology and crystallinity of the nanotubes were studied by means of TEM, EDX, and XPS. EDX patterns and XPS spectra proved that there were a certain densities of oxygen vacancies in TNTs annealed in $N_2$. The photocatalysis experiments revealed TNTs/$N_2$ possesses significantly higher photocatalytic efficiency than TNTs annealed in dry air to degrade methylene blue. The correlation between oxygen vacancies and photocatalytic property may be attributed to: 1) oxygen vacancies might have affected results on water molecules adsorption and increase of the hydroxyl concentration; and 2) oxygen vacancies resulted in some changes in electronic structure of TNTs/$N_2$ aggregation and Fermi level extends into the conducting band.

  • In order to detect the current flowing through concealed conductor, this paper proposes a new method based on derivative method. Firstly, this paper analyzes the main peak characteristic of the derivative function of magnetic field generated by a current-carrying conductor, and a relationship between the current flowing through the conductor and the main peak of the derivative function is obtained and applied to calculate the current. Then, the method is applied to detect the conductor current flowing through grounding grids of substations. Finally, the numerical experimental and field experiment verified the feasibility and accuracy of the method, and the computing results show that the method can effectively measure the conductor current of grounding grids with low error, and the error is within 5 %.

  • Tracking human body is an important problem in computer vision field. Tracking failures caused by occlusion can lead to wrong rectification of the target position. In this paper, a robust human tracking algorithm is proposed to address the problem of occlusion, rotation and improve the tracking accuracy. It is based on Tracking-Learning-Detection framework. The key auxiliary information is used in the framework which motivated by the fact that a tracking target is usually embedded in the context that provides useful information. First, face localization method is utilized to find key face location information. Second, the relative position relationship is established between the auxiliary information and the target location. With the relevant model, the key face information will get the current target position when a target has disappeared. Thus, the target can be stably tracked even when it is partially or fully occluded. Experiments are conducted in various challenging videos. In conjunction with online update, the results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms the traditional TLD algorithm, and it has a relatively better tracking performance than other state-of-the-art methods.
