  • Purpose This study is intended to catch the expansion of theory of Sasang Constitutional Medicine through comparison prescription of Sasang-Yihak-Chobonguen with prescription of Dongyi-Soose-Bowon Method I studied the archive of prescription and medicines concerned in the Sasang-Yihak- Chobonguen with Dongyi-Soose-Bowon Result and conclusion 1. The base of theory on prescription of Sasang-Yihak-Chobonguen is based on Naesang -oigam theory but the base of theory on prescription of Dongyi-Soose-Bowon is based on Pyoribyung theory of Sasang constitutional Medicine. 2. Medicines are confused in prescription of Sasang-Yihak-Chobonguen but medicines are not confused in prescription.

소음인(少陰人) 약방(藥方)의 형성과정에 관한 연구(硏究) (The study on the formative process of Soeumin prescription)

Purpose This Study is intended to catch the expasion of theory of Sasang Constitutional Medicine through comparision DongyiSooseBowon Chopanbon with DongyiSooseBowon Chobonguen and DongyiSooseBowon Gabobon. 2. Method I compared the Soeumin's prescriptions and medications of DongyiSooseBowon Chopanbon with those of DongyiSooseBowon Chobonguen and DongyiSooseBowon Gabobon. 3. Result and conclusion 1. The Soeumin's meducations used in the prescriptions of chobonguen are 44 and those of Gabobon are 47, those of chopanbon are 46 2. Soeumin;s Medications of the same kind in Chobonguen's precriptions and Gabobon's and Chopanbon's are twenty-five;like Daejo(大棗), Jinpi(陳皮), Gamcho(甘草), etc. and these medications are the princople in soeumin's disease. 3. Soeumin's Prescriptions of the same name in Chobonguen's prescriptions and Gabobon's and Chopanbon's are two;Gwakhanggeunggisan(藿香精氣散) and Bogungikgitang(補中益氣湯). These two prescriptions are correspond to the prescriptions those were recorded in Song-won-myuong Soeumin's princple prescription of experience(宋元明 少陰人經驗行用要藥). 4. Soeumin's Prescriptions of the same name in Chobonguen's precriptions and Gabobon's are two;Gwakhanggeunggisan(藿香精氣散) and Bogungikgitang(補中益氣湯). Chobonguen's precriptions were composed of Old prescriptions(古方) except the medications those were considered of wrong Sang Constitutional medications. 5. Soeumin's Prescriptions of the same name in Gabobon's prescriptions and Chopanbon's are nine and except Padudan(巴豆丹) have differences in the kind of medications and quantites. This fact shows that Dongmu(東武) roform the Sasnag Constitutional prescriptions continuously. 6. As this, Dongmu(東武) selected Sasang Constitutional prescription and medication in detail as he has the more experince of treatment.

Purpose This study is intended to catch the expasion of theory of Sasang Constitutional Medicine through comparision DongyiSooseBowon Chopanbon with DongyiSooseBowon Chobonguen and DongyiSooseBowon Gabobon. 2. Method I compared the Soyangin's prescription and medications of DongyiSooseBowon Chopanbon with those of DongyiSooseBowon Chobonguen and Dongyisoosebowon Gabobon. 3. Result and conclusion 1) Soyangin's Medications of the same kind in Chobonguen's prescriptions and Gabobon's and Chopann's are thirty-two; like Bangpoong(防風), Hyeunggye(荊芥), Sangjihwang(生地黃), sukgo(石膏), etc. And these medications are the principle in Soyangin's disease. 2) Soyangin's Prescriptions of the same name in Chobonguen's prescriptions and Gabobon's and Chopanbon's are Yangdokbackhotang(陽毒白虎湯). Chopanbon's Yangdokbackhotang(陽毒白虎湯) is more rational and effective prescription. 3) Soyangin's Prescriptions of the same name in Chobonguen's prescriptions and Gabobon's are eleven; Bangpoongtongseungsan(防風通聖散), chengumdojuksan(千金導赤散), etc. These prescriptions are similar in the structure. 4) Soyangin's Prescriptions of the same name in Gabobon's prescriptions and Chopanbon's are five; Hyungbangpaedoksan(荊防敗毒散), Yangdokbackhotang(陽毒白虎湯). etc. These Prescriptions make a change in the structure from Gabobon's to Chopanbon's. As this we know that Dongmu(東武) selected Sasang Constitutional prescription and medication in detail as he has the more experience of treatment.

The principle which select the Sasang-in Prescription in Dongmuyugo is Hyung-Choei-Eik-Mi(馨臭液味) and Seung-Gang-Gae- Hap(升降開闔) 2. The same Medicine in Dongyi-Soose-Bowon Chopanbon and Sasang-Yihak-Chobonguen and Dongyi-Soose-Bowon Gapobon is 27 and this medicines are the principle medicine in the Taiyin Disease 3. The same Herb-Medication in the Sasang-Yihak-Chobonguen and Dongyi-Soose-Bowon Gapobon is 4 and the concept in the Sasang-Yihak-Chobonguen is succeded to Dongyi-Soose-Bowon Gapobon 4. The same Herb-Medication in the Dongyi-Soose-Bowon Gapobon and Dongyi-Soose-Bowon Chopanbon is 7 and the Change between the Dongyi-Soose-Bowon Gapobon and Dongyi-Soose-Bowon Chopanbon is the cognition between the Pyozeung(表證) and Lizeung(裏證) in the disease 5. There is no same Herb-Medication in that three books. This result can prove that the Dongyi-Soose-Bowon Chopanbon's New Herb-Medication(新定方) was made in the last stage of Sassng-Yihak

Purpose The purpose of this article was to find the change of Dong-mu's conceptions about constitutional disease through comparing with ${\ulcorner}$Sasang-Yihak-chobonguen${\lrcorner}$, ${\ulcorner}$Dongyi Soose Bowon${\lrcorner}$ written in 1894(Old edition) and ${\ulcorner}$Dongyi Soose Bowon${\lrcorner}$ published in 1901(In Edition) 2. Methods Comparing with ${\ulcorner}$Sasang-Yihak-chobonguen${\lrcorner}$, ${\ulcorner}$Dongyi Soose Bowon${\lrcorner}$ written in 1894(Old edition) and ${\ulcorner}$Dongyi Soose Bowon${\lrcorner}$ published in 1901(In Edition) we found the change of Dong-mu's conceptio ns about constitutional disease 3. Result 1) In ${\ulcorner}$Sasang-Yihak-chobonguen${\lrcorner}$, diseases were classified 'Oi-Gam(外感)‘, ’Nae-sang(內傷)‘, ’Ok-roi(牢獄)‘. ’Wi-gyoung(危傾)‘. In ${\ulcorner}$Sasang-Yihak-chobonguen${\lrcorner}$ ordinary symptoms was more impotant than disease, and good life style was emplasized for health 2) In ${\ulcorner}$Dongyi Soose Bowon${\lrcorner}$ written in 1894(Old edition), diseases were classified 'Oi-Gam(外感)‘, ’Nae-sang(內傷)‘. siseases from exterior causes was classified into 'Oi-gam-noi-chu-byoung(外傷腦?頁病)’, and diseases from interior causes was classified into 'Nae-sang-wi-wan-byoung(內觸胃脘病).‘ Herbal medication yet was't used by Disease 3) In ${\ulcorner}$Dongyi Soose Bowon${\lrcorner}$ published in 1901(In Edition), diseases was classified not by causes of disease but by mechanism and symptom of disease, so into Exterior-cold disease' and 'Interior-hot disease'. Herbal medication was used by pattern of Disease. 4) Conception of constitutional diseases was gradualy complished through edition.

『동의수세보원사상초본권(東醫壽世保元四象草本卷)』에서의 양생(養生)에 관(關)한 고찰(考察) (A Study of preservation of health in the Dongyi Soose Bowon Sasang Chobonguen)

  • 1. 연구목적 "동의수세보원사상초본권"의 내용 중에서 무병장수(無病長壽)를 하기 위한 양생(養生)은 어떠한 방법들이 있는가 조사해 보았다. 2. 방법 "동의수세보원사상초본권"에 기재된 글 중에서 예방적 사고방식 및 올바른 생활습관에 관하여 서술된 내용을 고찰하였다. 3. 결과 (1) 섭생(攝生)과 정신적 안정이 약(藥)보다 중요하니 조양(調養)하여 본상지기(本常之氣)를 50%이상(以上) 올려놓아 자발적으로 나아지려고 하는 항병력(抗病力)을 도와주면 병(病)을 관리하는 정신으로 편소지장(偏小之臟)의 취약점을 극복할 수 있으니 약(藥)의 중용(中庸)이 필요하다. 2) 주색(酒色)과 사노교착(思盧膠着)이 병(病)의 원인이 되므로 주색재권(酒色財權)의 중용(中庸), 성정(性情)의 중용(中庸), 인사(人事)의 능(能) 부능(不能)의 중용(中庸)을 통한 사상인(四象人)의 건강유지 방법과 치료정신을 제시하였다. 3) 자폭자엽(自暴自葉)하지 않고 주어진 여건에서 최선을 다하려는 긍정적인 자세와 희노애락(喜怒哀樂)을 중(中)과 절(節)에 맞춰서 크게 어긋나지 않게 노력하고 안빈락도(安貧樂道)하고 극기(克己)하는 생활속에서 복(壽)과 수(壽)를 누릴 수 있다. 4) 일반론적(一般論的) 지행(知行)으로서의 명지성행(明知誠行)보다 체질론적(體質論的) 지행(知行)으로서의 선사경행(善思敬行)으로 이기해물(利己害物)되지 않게 호심술(好心術)을 발휘하여 살아가는 것이 득수(得數)의 요인이 된다.

사상의학의 예방의학사상 (The Preventive Thoughts of Sasang Constitutional Medicine)

  • Objectives On the point of modern preventive medicine, Sasang Constitutional Meidicine(SCM) has the thoughts of preventive medicine. Modern preventive medicine has the three dimensional prevention; primary, secondary and tertiary prevention. The preventive thoughts of SCM concerning three dimensional prevention have been investigated in this article. Method Materials and references were collected about the prevention of SCM. Lee Jema's books such as Donguisusebowon, Gyeokchigo and Donguisusebowon Chobonguen were included. Result and Conclusions As the primary prevention of SCM, Regimen according to ages, explanation according to health index as Myeongmaeksilsu(命脈實數), moderation of four ruinous causes such as intoxication, seduction, opulence and authority, adequate social life and control of 4 kinds of emotions(sorrow, anger, joy and pleasure) are included. As the secondary prevention of SCM, explanation according to disease index, fragile Organs and frequently acquired diseases according to constitutions are included. As the tertiary prevention of SCM, rehabilitation for the stroke patients according to constitutions is included. In conclusion, SCM has all of 3 dimensional prevention methods although that might be applied with modern considerate modification.

Methods We compared conceptions, symptom, mechanism and treatment of Soeumin Gwakran(곽란(藿亂)) Disease in ${\ulcorner}$DongMuYooGo${\lrcorner}$, ${\ulcorner}$SooSe Bowon Sasang Chobonguen${\lrcorner}$, ${\ulcorner}$SooSe Bowon Gabobon${\lrcorner}$ and ${\ulcorner}$SooSe Bowon Sinchucbon${\lrcorner}$ 3. Results and Conclusions (1) In ${\ulcorner}$DongMuYooGo${\lrcorner}$ and ${\ulcorner}$SooSe Bowon Sasang Chobonguen${\lrcorner}$, Dongmu Lee Je-Ma?s conception about soeumin Gwakran(곽란(藿亂)) Disease is yet based on previous traditional medicine based on ${\ulcorner}$DongEuiBoGam${\lrcorner}$ (2) In ${\ulcorner}$SooSe Bowon Gabobon${\lrcorner}$, Seupgwakran(습곽란(濕藿亂)) is described within the catego of Taeum syndrome(태음병(太陰病)), and Geongwakran(건곽란(乾藿亂)) is described within the catergory of Soeum syndrome(소음병(少陰炳)). But conception about Soeurnin Gwakran(곽란(藿亂)) Disease is not yet definitely settled. (3) In ${\ulcorner}$SooSe Bowon Sinchucbon${\lrcorner}$, Geongwakran(건곽란(乾藿亂)) is described within a severe case of Taeum syndrome(태음병(太陰病)) ? Dongmu Lee Je-Ma? s conception about Soeurnin Gwakran(곽란(藿亂)) Disease is changed.

명현현상(瞑眩現狀)에 대한 사상의학적(四象醫學的) 고찰(考察) (A Sasang Constitutional Study on the Myunghyun Symptom)

  • 1. Objects Myunghyun Symptom(瞑眩現狀) is widely regarded as 'symptoms of discharge the accumulated poison in body', 'symptoms in the process of healing' apart from any other side effects of drugs. Recently, Natural Medicine of Europe and the U.S.A named it 'healing crisis'. However, this tends to be used indiscriminately. I took a look at the meaning of the Myunghyun Symptom correctly, and the meaning at a point of Sasang Constitutional view 2. Methods It was researched on the literal study about the meaning of the Myunghyun Symptom on the book "Seokyung"(書經), "Dongeuibogam(東醫寶鍵)", "Dongyi Suse Bowon(東醫壽世保元)", "Yakjing(藥徵)", and the meaninig at a point of Sasang Constitutional view through the "Dongyi Suse Bowon(東醫壽世保元)", "Dongyi Suse Bowon Sasang Chobonguen(東醫壽世保元 四象草本卷)". 3. Results and Conclusions 1. The original meaning of the Myunghyun symptom is 'dizziness by the use of massive effective drugs'. 2. Yoshimasu Todo interprεtated broadly the Myunghyun symptoms as the discharge of the accumulated poison in body, the symptoms in the process of healing. 3. Dongmu recognized the Myunghyun symptom as dizziness by massive effective drugs and shun the use of massive effective drugs. 4. Dongmu established the concept of 'Jang-gi(臟氣) and 'Yak-gi(藥氣)' and esteemed Jang-gi more than Yak-gi. So he contended that When there is no disease does not use drugs, even if the illness prioritized the use of mild drug, use the massive effective drugs a little while when there is an acute disease. 5. When the Sasnag Constututional Drugs help the Bomyungjiju(보명지주), Sometimes the Myunghyun Symptom is appeared. it is the process of Tongoi by Taeum Drugs, Chungjang by Soyang Drugs, Gojung by Tayang Drugs, Onri by Soeum Durgs. 6. Myunghyun symptoms which used indiscriminately in present is stopped and needs a clear observation and description about the drug reactions to the patient's condition.
