소아 환자 분류도구의 개발 (Development of Pediatric Patient Classification System)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to develop a valid and reliable Pediatric Patient Classification System (PPCS). Methods: The study was conducted in a children's hospital which included various ward settings. Content validity was analyzed by Delphi method and to verify intraclass correlation reliability, 7 nurse managers and 29 staff nurses classified 216 patients. To verify construct validity, the staff nurses classified 216 patients according to PPCS comparing differences by age, days of stay, type of stay and medical department. Results: The developed PPCS has 12 categories, 55 nursing activities and 80 criterions. High agreement among nurses (r=.90) suggested substantial reliability. Construct validity was verified by comparing differences in age, days of stay, type of stay and medical department (p<.05). The entire patient group were classified to four groups using PPCS. Conclusion: The findings suggest that PPCS would be a useful tool for estimating nursing demands related to medications and the complexity of pediatric patients.

안양지역 어린이집에서의 블루투스 염도계 사용에 따른 국의 염도 비교 (Comparison of Salinity of Soups on the Use of Bluetooth Salinity Meter at Childcare Centers in Anyang Area)

  • 이 연구는 블루투스 염도계 사용이 어린이집에서 제공하는 국의 적정 염도 수준을 조절하는 데 영향을 미칠 수 있는지 확인하고자, 2019년 1월부터 12월까지 안양시 어린이급식관리지원센터에 등록된 어린이집 중 나트륨 저감화 특화사업에 참여를 희망하는 어린이집(블루투스 염도계 사용 군, BG)과 참여하지 않은 어린이집(블루투스 염도계 미사용군, NG)을 대상으로 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 블루투스 염도계 사용 여부에 따라 국의 염도와 나트륨양을 비교하였을 때, BG의 값이 NG보다 유의하게 낮았으며, 블루투스 염도계의 사용 횟수가 증가함에 따라 염도와 나트륨양이 감소하였다. 결론적으로, 블루투스 염도계는 어린이집에서의 나트륨 저감화 교육과 관련하여 조리원들의 자발적인 염도 조절을 유도하는 수단으로 활용 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

국민건강영양조사 식품안정성 측정 도구의 타당도 조사 (Validation of Food Security Measures for the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey)

  • The objective of this study was to assess the reliability and validity of food security measures, which was developed based on the US household food security survey module (US HFSSM) with content validity in the Korean population. The reliability and validity were assessed by internal consistency, construct validity and criterion-related validity. The study included 446 households. Among those, 46.2% were households with children. The proportion of food insecure households was 33.3%. Among those, 35.4% and 64.6% households were food insecure with hunger and without hunger, respectively. The Cronbach's alpha coefficients were 0.84 and the infit value by the Rasch model analysis ranged from 0.68 to 1.43. The scale item response curves by food insecurity severity explained well the nature and characteristics of food security, indicating the highest proportion of "yes" for the items on diet quality, followed by those with diet quantity. The result of criterion-related validity showed that food insecurity status was significantly related in a dose-response manner with the household income level, food expenditure, subjective health state, subjects' educational level. Household food security status was also related to dietary diversity regarding protein foods, fruits and fruit juice, and milk and dairy product. These findings suggest that the food security instrument is reliable and valid and would be used to assess food security status in the Korean population.

사회인지론 모델을 적용한 나트륨 섭취 줄이기 소비자 영양교육 프로그램 개발 - 포커스그룹 인터뷰에 기초하여- (Development of Nutrition Education Program for Consumers to Reduce Sodium Intake Applying the Social Cognitive Theory - Based on Focus Group Interviews -)

  • Objectives: This study aimed to develop nutrition education program for consumers to reduce sodium intake based on social cognitive theory (SCT). Methods: The main factors of SCT related to low sodium diet were investigated by using focus group interview (FGI) with 30 women who participated in consumer organizations. Results: The main target groups for the education program were housewives (H), parents (P), and the office workers (OW), for which we considered their influences on other people and the surroundings. According to the results of FGI, in carrying out low sodium diet, 'positive outcome expectation' were prevention of chronic disease and healthy dietary habit, and 'negative outcome expectation' were low palatability of foods, difficulty in cooking meals, and limited choice of foods. The contents of the program and education materials were individualized by each group to raise self-efficacy and behavioral capability, which reflected the results of the FGI. The program included 'salt intake and health' to raise positive outcome expectation. For improving the ability to practice low-sodium diet, the program contained the contents that focused on 'cooking' and 'food purchasing' for H, on 'purchasing and selection of low-sodium food with the children' for P, and on 'way of selecting restaurant menu' for OW. Also the program included 'way of choosing the low-sodium foods when eating out' with suggestions on sodium content of the dishes and snacks. Further, 'dietary guidelines to reduce sodium intake' was also suggested to help self-regulation. Conclusions: This nutrition education program and education materials could be utilized for the community education and provide the basis for further consumer targeted education program for reducing sodium intake.

불임여성의 식생활 특성 (Dietary Behavior of Infertile Women In Korea)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to identify dietary factors related to infertility in Korean women through a case-control study. Methods: The case group was composed of 236 women who had been diagnosed as infertility in hospital. The control group of 181 healthy women with children were recruited from local immunization centers. Socio-economic status, medical history, dietary intakes using food frequency questionnaire and stress were surveyed by interview. Anthropometric measurements were made and the causes of infertility were identified through medical records. Fasting blood samples were taken from subgroup of the subjects. Results: The mean age of infertile and control groups was 31.1 and 32.4 years, respectively and the difference was statistically significant. The mean Body Mass Index of infertile women was not significantly different from control women, however, Waist/ Hip Ratio and Triceps Skinfolds Thickness were significantly lower in infertile women than in control women. The dietary intake status was generally satisfactory in both groups. The intakes of energy, protein, fat, carbohydrate, retinol, vitamin B2 and niacin were lower in infertile women than in control women. The infertile women also showed lower intakes of animal foods. No differences were found between two groups in serum concentrations of albumin, hemoglobin, Fe, TIBC, total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol, triglyceride, C3, IgA, IL-2, however, infertile women showed higher levels of Zn and IgG. The stress score was higher in infertile women. Conclusions: From the results of this study, dietary factors and nutritional status do not seem to be directly related to infertility. However, the intertile women have lower nutrient intake and lower body fat content than control women. Further researches are needed according to the causes of infertility for long term to establish the relationship between dietary factors and infertility.

멀티미디어 유해 콘텐츠 차단을 위한 다중 기법 (Multimodal approach for blocking obscene and violent contents)

  • IT 기술의 발달로 유해 멀티미디어가 무분별하게 유포되고 있다. 또한 선정적, 폭력적 유해 콘텐츠는 청소년에게 약 영향을 끼친다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 선정성, 폭력성이 드러나는 영상 콘텐츠 차단을 위한 다중 기법을 제안한다. 다중 기법 내에는 선정성, 폭력성을 검출하는 두 가지 모듈이 있다. 선정성 검출 모듈 내에는 성인 점수와 외설점수를 기반으로 선정성을 검출하는 모델이 있다. 폭력성 검출을 위한 모듈 내에는 RGB 영역을 이용한 피 검출 모델과 폭력적인 움직임은 방향과 크기 변화가 크다는 것에 착안한 움직임 추출 모델 두 가지가 있다. 이와 같은 총 세가지 모델의 검출 결과에 따라 해당 콘텐츠의 유해 여부를 판단한다. 본 논문의 유해 콘텐츠 차단 다중 기법은 무분별하게 유포되는 선정적, 폭력적 유해 콘텐츠를 차단한다.

  • 본 연구에서 curcumin이 계란 알러젠 중의 하나인 OVA에 의해서 유도된 NF-${\kappa}B$ 활성화 및 iNOS 발현에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아보았다. Curcumin은 OVA에 의해서 유도된 NF-${\kappa}B$ 활성화와 iNOS 발현을 억제시켰다. 이러한 결과는 curcumin이 계란 알러젠인 OVA에 의해서 유도된 NF-${\kappa}B$의 활성화와 iNOS의 발현을 억제하여 염증반응이나 알러지와 같은 만성적인 질병들을 조절할 수 있다는 것을 보여주는 중요한 결과라 사료된다. 이러한 연구는 추후 알러지 작용기전 규명 및 알러지 치료제 개발에 중요한 역할을 할 것으로 기대한다.

제주특별자치도 거주 베트남 결혼 이주민 여성의 자녀 안전사고 경험과 안전사고 예방행동 및 교육요구 (Child Safety Injury Experiences, Prevention Behaviors and Educational Needs among Immigrant Vietnamese Women on Jeju Island)

  • Purpose: Study purpose was to describe the child safety injury experiences, injury prevention behaviors and educational needs of immigrant Vietnamese women on Jeju Island, and to explore associations among those factors. Methods: A descriptive correlational study was conducted using structured questionnaires to collect data from immigrant Vietnamese women who visited a multicultural centers on Jeju Island from January to April, 2017. Results: Data from 60 women were analyzed. They were $28.2{\pm}5.5$ years old, had resided in Korea for $40.6{\pm}31.1$ months, and had $1.5{\pm}0.6$ children on average. In total, 51.7% had previous injury prevention education, 68.2% had experienced child safety injuries, and 95.0% wanted to receive education on how to prevent child safety injuries. The mean total score of child injury prevention behaviors was $27.33{\pm}17.79$, and that variable was associated with a longer duration of formal education (t=2.41, p=.021) and with women's experiences of child safety injury (t=5.97, p<.001). Conclusion: Immigrant Vietnamese women experienced a higher frequency of child safety injuries and needed educational opportunities to prevent these injuries. Further research is necessary to develop the essential content and effective methods for education on child safety injury prevention among this unique multicultural population.

Acceptance and Effectiveness of Distance Learning in Public Education in Saudi Arabia During Covid19 Pandemic: Perspectives from Students, Teachers and Parents

  • The movement control order and shutting down educational institution in Saudi Arabia has jeopardized the teaching and learning process. Education was shifted to distance learning in order to avoid any academic loss. In the middle of the Covid-19 crisis, there is a need to assess the full image of e-learning in Saudi Arabia. To investigate student and teachers' perception and acceptance, parents' attitudes and believes about distance education are the main goals of the study. The mix-method research design was employed to collect data. Three surveys were distributed to 100 students and 50 teachers and 50 parents from different educational institutions in Saudi Arabia, while semi-structured interviews were conducted with 10 parents. Random stratified and convenient sampling methods were adopted. Both descriptive and content analysis was conducted using SPSS25.0 and NVIVO software for quantitative and qualitative data accordingly. The findings showed that students are comfortable with remote education and are receiving enough support from schools and instructors but they think online education can't replace conventional face-to-face learning. Moreover, the results showed that teachers are having challenges in preparing online classes because of the development of conducting online classes and the lack of training. However, parents showed negative attitudes regarding the benefits and values of remote education and preferred conventional learning styles in elementary schools. Parents tended to reject and resist distance learning for several reasons: professional knowledge and lack of time to support their young kids in online classes, the shortcomings of e-learning, young children's inadequate self-regulation. Saudi parents are neither trained nor ready to use e-learning. The study provided suggestion and implications for teacher education and policymakers.

Meat Quality Changes in Aged Pork Loin using Jeju Volcanic Scoria Earthenware

  • This study aimed to investigate changes in the quality of meat aged using Jeju scoria earthenware. Water-holding properties, pH, color, tenderization, fatty acid composition, and free amino acid characteristics of aged pork loin were evaluated to determine the effects of wet and dry (normal and Jeju Scoria) aging methods and aging time (0, 10, 20, 30, and 40 days) on meat quality. The aging methods altered pH and CIE L* after 10 days of aging. However, the aging method did not alter the pH and CIE L* of the aged pork loin after 10 days of aging. The shear force was significantly lower in the Scoria aging method than in the wet aging method after 10 and 20 days of aging. Both the normal and Scoria aging methods increased aging loss compared to the wet aging method, which could be attributed to longer air exposure times of the two non-packaged aging methods than in the packaged aging method. The scoria aging method had significantly higher contents and ratios of saturated (SFA) to mono-unsaturated fatty acids but lower ratios of poly-unsaturated fatty acids to SFA than the wet aging method. The content of most free amino acids significantly increased with aging time, especially those related to the sweet, and umami categories. In summary, this study suggests that the Scoria aging method provides positive aspects of eating quality, such as improvement of meat tenderness and taste, including umami, with minimum changes in the overall meat quality.
