  • This study aims to clarify the regional role, usage status, and evaluation of various outdoor destinations, such as parks and plazas. For preschoolers and their parents, who spend relatively limited time with their children, outdoor playgrounds such as parks are valuable places. This study discusses the characteristics of such places in each region. Forty five parents from Setagaya-ku, To-kyo, and Tama City were part of the study. The results were organized by region using photographs, positions, evaluations, and description information from the parks by the caption evaluation method to find the most effective placement of these areas.

  • Purpose: Bullying is a global problem, and various programs are under way to prevent it. The purpose of this study was to review school bullying interventions for Korean school-age children and adolescents. Methods: Online databases such as RISS, KISS, DBpia, NDSL and KMBASE were searched, identifying 32 intervention studies published from January 2009 to November 2018. Results: Thirty-two intervention studies were identified: 23 included school bullying prevention and 9 included school bullying treatment for victims or youth at high risk for bullying. The main purpose of preventive intervention was to decrease the bystander's attitude toward group bullying and treatment program was to improve the psychosocial adaptation of bullying victims. The school bullying interventions varied from group counseling, social skills training, art therapy, bibliotherapy using role-play, game & activities. Classroom environment variables and self-esteem, peer-related variables improved significantly after the school bullying prevention programs and school bullying treatment programs, respectively. Conclusion: There is potential for enhancing the outcomes of the behavioral, interpersonal psychological variable. Integrated interventions considering the individuality, gender and physical health of children and adolescents will also be needed. However, a rigorous study design is required to compensate for the methodological limitations.

  • Background: Over the past few decades, various goals have been defined to reduce the mortality of children caused by acute lower respiratory infections (ALRIs) worldwide. However, few spatial studies to date have reported on ALRI deaths. Purpose: We aimed to assess the spatial modeling of mortality from ALRI in children under 5 years of age during 2000-2017 using a global data. Methods: The data on the mortality of children under 5 years old caused by ALRI were initially obtained from the official website of the World Health Organization. The income status of their home countries was also gathered from the Country Income Groups (World Bank Classification) website and divided into 5 categories. After that, in the ArcGIS 10.6 environment, a database was created and the statistical tests and related maps were extracted. The Global Moran's I statistic, Getis-Ord Gi statistic, and geographically weighted regression were used for the analyses. In this study, higher z scores indicated the hot spots, while lower z scores indicated the cold spots. Results: In 2000-2017, child mortality showed a downward trend from 17.6 per 100,000 children to 8.1 and had a clustered pattern. Hot spots were concentrated in Asia in 2000 but shifted toward African countries by 2017. A cold spot that formed in Europe in 2007 showed an ascending trend by 2017. Based on the results of geographically weighted regression test, the regions identified as the hot spots of mortality from ALRI in children under 5 years old were among the middle-income countries (R2=0.01, adjusted R2=8.77). Conclusion: While the total number of child deaths in 2000-2017 has decreased, the number of hot spots has increased among countries. This study also concluded that, during the study period, Central and Western Africa countries became the main new hot spots of deaths from ALRI.

We obtained the following results: 1. Women who are living in larger housing sought 'elegant', 'sophisticated', and 'gorgeous' images. There was a high correlation between the image sought through the surrounding environment and the image sought with clothing. Those who wanted an image of Korean traditional and classic living environment, also sought the same image in their clothing. 2. There was a significant difference in the preference of home fashion products among women seeking specific images in their living environment. In the preference of children's bed sheets and comforters, there was a significant difference in Korean traditional image. • Satisfactory for children's spectacles fitting can only be achieved with the resonable selection and assortment of frames of different pad shapes, size, materials, the general property of sample frame are flexibility for the temple. Loughness for bridge and variety for the length of temple, a selection of the lens is chosen usually by the characteristic of the power, safty, size and so on, it will be comport fit of frame controlled the hight and width of pad and angle of pad between the nose side, frontal angle of pad will be determinded that whether a frame may be capable of providing a comport fit. An important part of the fitting of spectacles is the final adjustment before the wearer takes them away, and also their continued adjustment to maintain the optimum comport and lens efficiency. It is suggested that spectacle adjustment is essentially a practical art that can only be acquired by continual practice.

  • This study examined the effects of the mothers' sense of humor, ego-resilience on the maternal behavior. 187 mothers of 24~36 month old children completed the questionnaires. To analyze the data, descriptive statistics, Pearson's co-relation and hierarchical regression analysis were used. The results were as follows. First, concerning the mothers' personal variables, the mean of the sense of humor, ego-resilience, and maternal behavior were relatively high. Second, the mothers' sense of humor and its sub-scales, except as a copying strategy, and ego-resilience had a positive co-relation with the maternal behavior and its sub-scales. Lastly, the mothers' sense of humor and its sub-scales, and ego-resilience were significant variables to influence the maternal behavior. As stated above, the ways were discussed to improve the mothers' sense of humor and ego-resilience.

  • This case study examined the effects of synchronization-based group music therapy for improving peer interaction of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The participants were five children between the ages of 6 and 10 with ASD. A total of eight 30-minute music therapy sessions were conducted two times a week. During sessions, target behaviors (i.e., engagement in joint action, synchronized movements, eye contact, and initiation of social interaction) were observed and analyzed. Also, the PIPPS-P was completed by parents to identify behavioral changes in real-life environments from pretest to posttest. Following the intervention, all of the participants showed increases in synchronized movements with peers and attempts to initiate social interaction. In addition, parents rated their children's play behavior as being improved in their everyday living environment. These results support that synchronous movements between children with ASD, which were facilitated with rhythmic cueing, led to enhanced engagement in joint action. Considering that those movements are the basis for further social skills (e.g., play behavior), this study also indicates that synchronization-based group music therapy could be an effective therapeutic approach for improving the peer interaction of this population.
