남녀노인의 상실경험과 우울이 자아통합감과 초월에 미치는 영향 (The Influences of Loss Experiences and Depression on Ego-integrity and Transcendence of Elderly Korean Men and Women)

  • This study was conducted to explore the influences of loss experiences and depression on ego-integraty and transcendence of elderly Koreans and to identify gender differences in the relationships among loss experiences, depression, ego-integrity, and transcendence from 146 men and 194 women aged over 60 years in Busan, Gyeong-Nam, and Gyeong-Buk area. The main results were as follows: elderly men reported more loss experiences and transcendence than elderly women. Next, loss experiences influenced ego-integrity and depression mediated the relationship between loss experiences and ego-integrity. Also, ego-integrity had a direct effect on transcendence. Last, depression of elderly men fully mediated the relationship between loss experiences and transcendence. The relationship between loss experiences and ego-integration was partially mediated by depression for elderly women. These results were discussed in terms of gero-education and elderly welfare.

어머니의 우울이 유아의 발달에 미치는 영향: 가정환경의 매개효과를 중심으로 (The Effect of Mothers' Depression on Preschool Children's Development: Focusing on the Mediation of Home Environment)

  • The aims of this study were to investigate the relationships among mothers' depression, home environment, and preschool children's development. The participants in this study were 199 parents of 3- to 5-year-old children. Statistical methods used for the data analysis were the frequencies, means, standard deviations, Pearson correlation, simple and multiple regression. The major findings were as follows. First, mothers' depression had a negative influence on home environment. Second, mothers' depression had a negative influence on children's development. Last, the effect of mothers' depression on children's development was partially mediated by home environment. The results suggest that mothers' depression and home environment may predict children's development.

여대생의 스트레스, 우울과 양생 간의 관계 (Relationship of Stress, Depression and Yangsaeng(養生) in Korean College Women)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of stress, depression and Yangsaeng in Korea. Yangsaeng is a traditional health care regimen for the promotion of health and prevention of illness by means of specific principles and methods, whose purpose was to improve longevity and healthy life. Method: The subjects of this study were 523 college women in Korea. Data were collected by using a self-reported questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, t-test, ANOVA and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. Results: There was statistically significant difference in stress and depression according to drinking and positive thinking. There was statistically significant difference in Yangsaeng according to grade, drinking, exercise and positive thinking. Stress was positively related depression. Stress and depression was negatively related Yangsaeng. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that Yangsaeng as oriental health care regimen could lower level of stress and depression. Therefore, Yangsaeng could be recommended a way of mental health promotion in Korean culture.

집단정신치료극이 아동의 우울에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Group-Psychotherapy Oriented Psychodrama on Child's Depression)

  • This study was executed to examine the effect of group-psychotheray oriented psychodrama on child's depression. For this study self-reporting Kovacs's children's depression inventory(C.D.I) was administered for primary school children. and 8 children were selected in experimental and control group each. The experimental group acted the psychodrama for 15 session. The first follow-up test was executed at 8 weeks after pre-test and second follow-up test at 10 weeks after first follow- up. Every time children acted the psychodrama all behaviors had been recorded. Also in order to find out any changes in daily life after the psychodrama their parents class teachers and children themselves were interviewed. Basal depression level was 23.38 for experimental group and 23.63 for control group. Depression level of experimental group was reduced to 12.38(p<0.01) There was significant difference in depression level between experimental and control group (p<0.01) Reducing effect of experi ental group by the psychodrama was maintained as well. As a result group psychotherapy oriented psychodrama was effective to reduce depression level of childern. Group psychotherapy oriented psychodrama program for children need to be developed for more effectiveness.

소아 청소년 정신건강 선별검사 및 치료 연계 효율성에 대한 연구 : 지역사회 중심 연구 (The Effectiveness of Mental Health Problems Screening and Treatment Linkage in Children & Adolescents : Community Based Study Focused on ADHD and Depression)

  • Objectives : This study evaluated the effectiveness of school-based mental health screening and treatment linkage programs, focusing on attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and adolescent depression. Methods : All 11,158 children and adolescents aged 8-14 years in Seoul received a school-based mental health screening, consisting of the Korean versions of the ADHD rating scale and the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), for ADHD, and the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale (CES-DS) and the Suicidal Ideation Questionnaire-Junior (SIQ-JR), for depression. The high-risk children's and adolescents' diagnoses were confirmed using the Diagnostic Interview Schedule for Children-IV (DISC-IV). Treatment linkage programs were managed by the Seoul Metropolitan Community Mental Health Center (Program 1), the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education (Program 2), or the Dongjak District Office of Education (Program 3). We estimated and compared the referral rates of the three programs. Results : Program 1 screened and referred 22.9% of ADHD youths to mental health services, Program 2, 68.8%, and Program 3, 40.0%. Program 1 screened and referred 22.8% of depressed youths to mental health services, Program 2, 53.8%, and Program 3, 88.9%. Key elements for successful screening and referral programs were an effective school/community mental health center/Office of Education network, the parents' financial support and perception of their child's mental health status as being problematic, and the teachers' active engagement. Conclusion : This is the first study investigating the effectiveness of school-based mental health screenings' linkage to treatment for primary and middle school students in Korea. An effective network for community mental health and improvements in parents' and teachers' perceptions regarding mental health are needed for more successful treatment linkage.

청소년의 자살생각 관련변인들 간의 인과적 구조분석 : 가족응집성, 가족적응성, 자아존중감, 집단따돌림, 그리고 우울을 중심으로 (A Structural Relationship between the Related Variables of Adolescence's Suicidal Ideation)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the structural relationships between variables related to the Suicidal Ideation of Adolescences. A total of 923 Middle school students residing in Daegu City completed questionnaires which assessed family adaptability, family cohesion, self-esteem, bullying victimhood, depression and suicidal ideation. The sample variance-covariance matrix was analyzed using AMOS 20.0, and a maximum likelihood minimization function. Goodness of fit was evaluated using the SRMS, RMSEA, and its 90% confidence interval, CFI, and TLI. The results were as follows : First, the variables of family adaptability and family cohesion did not have a statistically significant direct impact on adolescence's suicidal ideation, although they may well have an indirect effect on suicidal ideation through self-esteem, bullying victimhood and depression. Second, Self-esteem and bullying victimhood had significant direct effects on depression and suicidal ideation. Moreover, they also had an indirect effect on suicidal ideation through self-esteem. Third, depression had a substantial direct effect on suicidal ideation. Finally, self-esteem did not indicate a direct effect on bullying victimhood.

자녀의 일상생활에 대한 부모의 관리와 청소년의 일탈행동, 자아존중감 간의 관계 (The Relationship of Parental Monitoring to Deviant Behaviors and Self-Esteem in Adolescents)

  • This study examined links between parental monitoring of child's daily activities, 3 sources of parents' knowledge, and children's deviant behaviors and self-esteem. Participants were 276 tenth grade boys. Children completed questionnaires about parental monitoring and their own internal adjustments and deviant behaviors. High parental control was linked to less deviant behavior in children regardless of children's feelings of being controlled. The association between parental control and children's feelings of being controlled was moderated by children's depression. Parental control was not related to children's depression and self-esteem, and further, children's feelings of being controlled were not related to self-esteem after controlling for depression. The findings suggest that parental control efforts are an effective way to prevent children's deviant behaviors.

영아 자녀를 둔 어머니의 양육스트레스 변화가 온정적 양육행동 및 유아의 사회정서발달에 미치는 영향: 어머니 취업여부에 따른 차이 (The Effects of Maternal Parenting Stress Trajectory on Affective Parenting and Socioemotional Development of Preschooler: Differences Between Employed and Unemployed Mothers)

  • Objective: This study aimed to investigate the trajectory of maternal parenting stress during infancy according to the employment status of mothers when each year's depression was controlled and examine the longitudinal effects of parenting stress on affective parenting and socioemotional developmental outcomes for preschoolers. Methods: Using latent growth modeling, the first 4 waves of panel data collected from 2,078 mothers and their babies were analyzed. This nationwide data was provided from the 2008 Panel Study on Korean Children, conducted by the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education. Results: First, maternal parenting stress showed a linear increasing pattern, and there were individual differences in intercept and slope. Second, when each year's maternal depression was controlled, the intercept of parenting stress was lower, but the rate of increase was higher. In multiple group analyses, this increasing pattern of parenting stress was significant only in unemployed mothers. Lastly, the increase of unemployed mothers' parenting stress had direct effects on child emotionality and peer interaction and had an indirect effect on child peer interaction (mediated by affective parenting). Conclusion: The current study verified that the longitudinal effects of increasing parenting stress of unemployed mothers on affective parenting and child socioemotional development when maternal depression level was controlled. These results imply that we need to pay more attention to emotional health and resources of unemployed mothers and provide them with social support as well as employed mothers.

소아 ${\cdot}$ 청소년 우울장애의 생물학적 연구 (BIOLOGICAL STUDIES IN CHILD AND ADOLESCENT DEPRESSION)

  • 성인기 우울증의 생물학적인 연구는 25년 이상의 역사를 가지고 있으나, 소아 또는 청소년기 우울증에 있어서의 생물학적인 연구는 아직 초보 단계이다. 그러나 현재까지 연구된 바에 의하면, 결론을 내리기는 시기 상조이나, 소아 또는 청소년기의 우울증에 있어서도 생물학적인 이상소견이 원인의 일부로 작용할 가능성은 크다고 할 수 있다. 이러한 생물학적 소견은 연령이나 사춘기의 변화가 소아 또는 청년기의 우울증의 생물학적인 이상 소견과 관계가 있을 가능성이 크다. 성인기내에서도 나이에 따라서 생물학적인 이상 소견이 다르게 나타날 수 있기 때문에 성인의 연령도 구분하여야 할 필요성이 강조된다. 따라서 성인기에서의 연구가 소아 또는 청소년기의 생물학적인 소견을 이해하는데 있어서 도움이 되기는 하지만, 소아 또는 청소년기의 생물학적인 소견을 해석할 때에는 반드시 성장, 발달, 연령 및 사춘기의 변화를 고려하여야 한다. 이러한 소견을 이해하는데 있어서는 정상 아동에 있어서의 신경전달물질계 및 수용체의 개체발생적인 과정이 반드시 밝혀져야 한다. 발달학적인 측면에서의 신경생물학적인 연구, 이와 행동상의 특징과의 상호관계가 규명되어야 하며, 이에는 동물실험 모델의 개발이 필수적이다. 왜냐 하면, 윤리적인 문제로 아동들을 연구하는데 있어서 많은 제한점이 있기 때문이다.

유아보육 및 교육기관장의 변혁적 리더쉽과 교사의 심리적 임파워먼트 : 교사 우울의 조절효과 (The Relationship between Supervisors' Transformational Leadership and Teachers' Depression on Psychological Empowerment by Teachers in Kindergartens and Childcare Centers)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between supervisors' transformational leadership, teachers' depression and the psychological empowerment of teachers in kindergartens and childcare centers. The subjects were 208 teachers employed in kindergartens or childcare centers in Daegu and Gyeongbuk Province. Questionnaires, which required self-reporting by teachers, were used to investigate supervisors' transformational leadership, teachers' depression and psychological empowerment. The data thus collected were analyzed by mean of Pearson's correlation, hierarchial regression, and by the use of SPSS Win 15.0. The results of our study were as follows. First, Supervisors' transformational leadership was positively associated with teachers' psychological empowerment. Second, teachers' depression was negatively associated with teachers' psychological empowerment. Finally, The interaction effects of supervisors' transformational leadership and teachers' depression on teachers' psychological empowerment were observed.
