제주도입유우의 번식장애원인에 관한 연구 III. 사료급여 실태와 비유량 조사 (A Study on the Causes Reproductive Disorders of Dairy Cattle in Introduced Cheju-do III. The Investigation of Feeding Status and Amount of Milk)

  • Feeding ratio in relation to milk production, usage of silage, hay and minerals and vitamin suplement were investigated from 5 dairy farms located in the areas of Cheju city, Jochun, Hallim an Sung-up. In this survey conducted on the dairty cow of 51 farms in the four districts of Cheju-do, it was suspected that the reproductive disorders seemed to be high because of inadequate feeding of roughages (especially silage) and increasing feeding of concentrated feeds. The average milk production of dairy cows was 21.3 Kg in spring, 19.3 Kg in summer, 16.2 Kg in fall and 15.7 Kg in winter.

Studies on Pollution Characteristics and Sources of Precipitation in Jeiu Island

  • The pH, electric conductivity. and the major ionic components were analyzed for the precipitation samples collected at 1100 Site of Mt. Halla and Jeju city. The quality of analytical data was verified by the comparison of ion balances, conductivities and acid fractions, all of which correlation coefficients were over 0.952. The ionic strengths lower than 10$^{-4}$ M were found in 57 and 28% at 1100 Site and Jeju city respectively. The precipitation in Jeju city was influenced more by the oceanic effect than those in 1100 Site. The acidification of precipitation was caused mostly by S $O_4$$^{2-}$and N $O_3$$^{[-10]}$ in both areas, and the organic acids have contributed to the acidity with only 7~8%. The neutralization factors by N $H_3$ were about 44 and 47% at the 1100 site and the Jeju city, respectively, whereas those by CaC $O_3$were 21 and 24%, and the free acidity were about 38 and 28% at two sites. From the investigation of seawater and soil enrichment factors, the S $O_4$$^{2-}$, N $O_3$$^{[-10]}$ and N $E_4$$^{+}$ were immigrated by other sources rather than from the seawater or soil origins. but not in the case of $Mg^{2+}$, C $l^{[-10]}$ , N $a^{+}$, and $K^{+}$. Factor analysis has shown that the precipitation at the 1100 site had been influenced mostly by anthropogenic sources, followed by soil and sea-water sources. On the other hand, the precipitation at the Jeju city was mainly influenced by oceanic sources, followed by anthropogenic and soil sources.urces.

제주시와 부산시 해안변의 해안경관보전을 위한 경관평가 (Assessment of Coastal Landscape in Jeju City and Busan City)

  • 제주시와 부산시 해안변의 경관훼손부분에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 해안경관은 초점경관과 경관흡수인자들에 의하여 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 부산시과 제주시의 해안경관을 조사한 결과 횟집수조 내 공급되는 해수를 인근 해역에 해수 파이프를 설치하여 이용하고 있으나 무질서하게 설치된 해수 인수관으로 인하여 아름다운 해안경관의 미관을 해치고 있으며 부산시나 제주시를 찾는 관광객들의 많은 불만을 야기시키고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 해수인수관의 색상과 질감 그리고 그것을 관찰하는 행인이나 관찰자에 의한 두 가지 정보에 의하여 해안경관이 결정됨을 알 수 있었다.

제주해협에 출현하는 갈치 (Hairtail, Trichiurus lepturus)의 어업생물학적 특성 (The Study on the Fisheries Biological Feature of Hairtail, Trichiurus lepturus from the Cheju Strait)

  • 1992년 6월부터 12월까지 제주도 제주시, 한림, 성산, 서귀포에서 채집된 갈치 (Hairtail, Trichiurus lepturus LINNAEUS)를 대상으로 어업생물학적인 조사를 실시하여 결과를 요약하였다. 1) 생식소 중량지수 (GSI)는 암수 다같이 $6\~9$월에 높은 값을 유지하다가 10월부터 하강하기 시작하여 12월까지 낮은 값을 유지하고 있다. 2) 생식주기는 $6\~10$월에 완숙 및 산란기이고, 8월이 주산란기로 나타났다. 3) 갈치는 한 산란기 동안에 $2\~3$회 이상 산란하는 다회 산란종으로 나타났다. 4) 성비는 산란기에 암컷의 비율이 높고, 휴지기에는 암수 비율이 1 : 1이였다. 5) 포란수는 크기에 따라 개체당 최소 12,821개에서 최고 125,876개의 난까지 포란하고 있으며, 두동장과 체중이 증가할수록 포란수는 증가했다.

제주도 대기환경의 부식성 평가 (Assessment of Atmospheric Corrosivity at Jeju Island)

  • This study has been conducted to investigate corrosivity of carbon steel, Cu, Zn and Al for one year from Sept. 2003 to Aug. 2004. A model of ISO 9223-ISO 9226 that represents the relation between metal corrosions and environmental parameters was used for atmospheric corrosion evaluations. Environmental parameters for these evaluations are time of wetness(TOW), $SO_2$ and Chloride. Corrosion rates for four metals which are exposed indoors and outdoors were measured on five locations in Jeju Island; Gosan, Seogwipo, Seongsan, Chuna hill and Jeju city. The environmental factor of atmospheric corrosion of Jeju Island for $SO_2$ class is P0, a clean area. TOW as T3 and T4 indicates that Jeju has the characteristics of a tropical area. Chlorides class within 3 km from the coast show the features of costal area as S2 and S3 classes. Chuna hill show the features of woodland as a S1 class. In Corrosion classes of each site which was measured outdoors is higher than indoors. Gosan is the highest class as the rank of C5, and indicated that they're ranked as C3 or C4.

제주도에서 산출되는 화강암에 관한 연구 (A Petrological and Geochemical Study of Granites in the Cheju Island)

  • A granite drilling core (-1200 m) obtained near the Majang cave in east part of the Cheju island. The rock is pinksh in color and has miarolitic cavities. It is coarse-grained rock and consists of quartz, plagioclase, alkali feldspar, biotite and magnetite. The rock shows characteristically micrographic texture. The alkali feldspar is subhedral to anhedral and generally interstitial grains and fonns micrographic texture. K/Ar age of alkali feldspar in the core specimen is $58.14{\pm}1.4Ma $ (early Tertiary). The age, rock features and whole rock chemistry of the rock has strong resemblance to micrographic granites, so called "masanite", in southeastern part of the Korean peninsular. The granitic fragments from drilling core (- 920 m) obtained in Jungmun area in south part of the Cheju island consist of quartz, plagioclase, alkali feldspar and biotite. The fragments in the Jungmun area are similar to granitic xenolith near the Cheju city for the absence of micrographic texture and different alkali feldspar.

  • 강우현상은 지역별로 그 특성이 다르고, 장기간을 관측하여 보면 강우특성도 전에 비해서 많이 변화하므로 보다 정확한 배수계획의 수립이나 수공구조물계획을 위해서는 그 지역의 최근의 관측자료까지 포함한 강우특성을 연구하여 적용하는 것이 바람직하다. 따라서 제주지방의 주요 우량관측소(제주시, 서귀포, 성산포)의 최근 20년간(年間)의 자기우량기록지에서 연최대(年最大) 강우량만을 골라서 우량지속기간별로 실측우량을 발췌하였으며, 강우강도식은 일반적으로 많이 사용하고 있는 Talbot형(型), Sherman형(型), Japanese형(型)에다 새로운 Semi-log형(型)을 추가해서 제주지방의 지역별 최적확률 강우강도식을 유도해 본 결과 제주시는 확률년이 3년(年)~5년(年)에는 Japanese형(型), 그 외는 Talbot형(型)이고, 서귀포는 Sherman형(型), 성산포는 Talbot형(型)으로 나타났다.

Chemical Composition Characteristics of Precipitation at Two Sites in Jeju Island

  • The major ionic components of precipitation collected at the 1100 Site of Mt. Halla and Jeju city have been determined. The reliability of the analytical data was verified by the comparison of ion balances, electric conductivities and acid fractions; all of their correlation coefficients were above 0.94. Ionic strengths lower than $10^{-4}$ M were found in 53% of the 1100 Site samples and 28% of the Jeju city samples. Compared with other inland areas, the wet deposition of $Na^+,\;Cl^-\;and\;Mg^{2+}$ was relatively larger, but that of $NH_4^+,\;nss-SO_4^{2-}$(non-sea salt sulfate) and $NO_3^-$ was lower. Especially the wet deposition increase of $Ca^{2+}$ in the spring season supports the possibility of the Asian Dust effect. The acidification of precipitation was caused mostly by $SO_4^{2-}\;and\;NO_3^-$ in the Jeju area, and the organic acids have contributed only about 7% to the acidity. The neutralization factors by NH₃were 0.47 and 0.48, and that of CaCO₃was 0.31 and 0.25 at the 1100 Site and Jeju city, respectively. Investigation into major influencing sources on precipitation components by factor analysis showed that the precipitation at the 1100 Site had been influenced mostly by an anthropogenic source, followed by soil and seawater sources. The precipitation at Jeju city was mainly influenced by oceanic sources, followed by anthropogenic and soil sources.

서울 대기 중 미세 먼지 노출로 인한 위해도에 근거한 우선 관리 지역 선정 -이론적 사망 위해도 및 손실비용을 근거로- (Selection of Priority Areas Based on Human and Economic Risk from Exposure to Fine Particles in Seoul)

  • It is important to select a risk based priority area for environmental policy formation and decision-making. We estimated the health risks and associated damage costs from exposure to fine particles and assigned priority areas for twenty -five districts in Seoul. In order to estimate the theoretical mortality incidence of the health risk, baseline risks were estimated from mortality rates in two low level areas of fine particles, Seocho Gu and Cheju city To estimate the damage cost from the risk estimates, we investigated and estimated the willingness to pay (WTP) for specific risk reduction. We assumed two different locations as the reference area, Cheju city as Scenario I and Seocho gu as Scenario II. From the results, the five districts, Kwangjin, Chungnang, Kangbuk, Nowon, and Kangnam, ranked high in the categories of both health risk and economic risk. Damage costs were over twenty billion won in each of these districts. As there are uncertainties in these results, the parameter values such as PM$_{2.5}$ level, dose -response slope factor, baseline risk, exposure population and WTP should be continuously validated and refined.d.

동위원소를 이용한 제주지역 수질원에 관한 연구 (Environmental Isotope-Aided Studies on Water REsources in the Region of Cheju)

  • This investagation was carried out by analyzing water types and measuring the environmetal isotopes (tritium and deuterium) for development of water resources and protection of ground waters from sea water intrusion. The water sample were taken monthly from April to June, 1983 from sixteen sites in the Cheju metropolitan area; three sea, three spring, and ten ground waters. The ground water in the midwest area of the city contained 20 TU of tritium and-46 per mille of deuterium, classified as the $NaHCO_3$ type of ground water, generally deep seated. The spring water and ground water in the southern part of the city contained 15 to of tritium and-39 per mile of deuterium, and appeared to the $CaHCO_3$ type of shallow ground water, easily affected 표 precipitation. The results of tritium and deuterium analyses showed that the ground water in the coastal area were not affected by sea water intrusion, although they changed from $NaHCO_3$ or $CaHCO_3$ type to NaCl type in May and June. It is concluded that the high Na and Cl content in those ground waters might come from municipal sewage. The sea water in the Yong-duam area was influenced by sping water.
