이제마(李濟馬)는 각 체질의 판단을 위해 체형기상(體形氣像)등의 방법을 제시하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 우리는 여러 가지 다양한 방법의 체질판단을 시도할 수 있다. 그러한 이론의 바탕에는 이제마(李濟馬)의 행위결정론적 사고방식이 강하게 뿌리박고 있다. 이는 "성명론(性命論)"의 '두견요둔(頭肩腰臀)', '이목비구(耳目鼻口)', '함억제복'등의 단어들을 볼 때, 기존처럼 형(形)을 상(象)을 반영하는 객체로 인식하는 것이 아니라, 하나의 부분 주체적 개념으로 인식하고 있는 것을 보면 알 수 있다. 이로 보아 이제마(李濟馬)는 인체의 각 부위에 대하여 기존에 가지고 있던 육체적 기능뿐만 아니라 복잡한 성정적(性情的) 기능도 가지고 있다고 본 것이다. 이러한 고찰과 인체의 외형에 대한 직접적 서술이 있는 "장부론(臟腑論)" 등을 종합해 보면 현재 이용하고 있는 체질판단의 체형기상(體形氣像) 부분에 대하여 일정한 이론을 가지고 설명할 수 있다고 생각하여 다음과 같은 가설을 제시하여 보았다. "사단론(四端論"과 "확충론(據充論)"을 볼 때, 사상인(思象人)의 직부대소(職腑大小)는 태음인(太陽人)의 경우 폐(肺) > 비(脾) > 신(腎) > 간(肝)의 순으로, 소양인(少陽人)은 비(脾) > 폐(肺) > 간(肝) > 신(腎)의 순으로, 태음인(太陰人)의 경우 간(肝) > 신(腎) > 비(脾) > 폐(肺), 소음인(少陰人)은 신(腎) > 간(肝) > 폐(肺) > 비(脾)의 순으로 생각할 수 있으며, "직부론(職腑論)"에서 사람의 형(形)이 형성되는 과정 중에 보이는 '신기혈정(神氣血精)'이라는 개념은 형(形)의 생성과 관련이 있음과 아울러 각 직국(職局) 및 애노희락(哀怒喜樂)의 기운과 통한다라고 할 수 있다. 이러한 관점에서 사상인(四象人)을 분류해 보면, 태음인(太陽人)을 신기정혈형(神氣精血型), 소양인(少陽人)을 기신혈정형(氣神血精型), 태음인(太陰人)을 혈정기신형(血精氣神型), 소음인(少陰人)을 정혈신기형(精血神氣型)으로 분류할 수 있을 것이다. 이러한 역량관계에 따라 각 체질의 외형에 대하여 일정한 설명방법을 도입해 보았으며, 이러한 시도를 바탕으로 사상의학의 형상에 대한 논의가 활발해졌으면 하는 바램이다.

1. Objectives The purpose of this study is to give an account of the effects of Korean herbal medicine therapy which is based on the Sasang Constitutional Medicine for the patient who has suffered from low back pain caused by the Herniated Lumbar Disc. 2. Methods Consulting her sungjeong(性情), Chehyungkisang(體形氣像) and QSCCII, we have diagnosed her as Soeumin(少陰人), and have prescribed Hyangbujapalmul-tang(香附子八物湯). 3. Results After the treatment, she felt her symptoms, low back pain, headache, and general condition, improved. 4. Conclusions This paper describes the process of management and changes of symptoms. We hope this paper useful to rehabilitatable treatment for low back pain caused by the Herniated Lumbar Disc through Sasang Constitutional Medicine.

1. Objectives In general, arthropathy is treated with conservative method or only observed. Recently, I have effectively treated one patient with chronic arthropathy caused by loose body using constitutional method. So, I would like to report about this case. 2. Methods Consulting her Sungjeong(性情), Chehyungkisang(體形氣像) and QSCC II, I diagnosed her as Taeumin and treated her with Taeumjowi-tang(太陰調胃湯) plus jejo etc. 3. Results After treatment she felt her symtoms-pain, edema, stiffness of joint improved. 4. Conclusions This paper describes the process of management and changes of symptoms. I hope this paper useful to rehabilitatable treatment for arthropathy through Sasang Constitutional Medicine.

Purpose: In general, Acute Pyelonephritis is effectively treated with the use of antibiotics. However, some antibiotics are reported to cause side effects, and the abuse of antibiotics results in the increase of the disease's tolerance to antibiotics. Recently, I have effectively treated five cases of Acute Pyelonephritis by using only Constitution - Acupuncture and Herb, and therefore I would like to report about these cases. Methods: I diagnosed Acute Pyelonephritis of these five patients by confirming symptoms and employing a urine analysis with reagent strip(Multi $stix{\circledR}$). I used Kuon's method of constitutional diagnosis for the purpose of the diagnosis of the constitutional 8 morbidities. I relied on Sungjeong(性情) and Chehyungkisang(體刑氣像) in diagnosing Sasang Constitutions(四象人). I performed acupuncture on the left and right sides, depending on 8 constitutions, by employing Chang - temperament Inflammation Formula(臟系炎症方) that is used for the treatment of all kinds of chang-temperament inflammation diseases, as well as Bactericidal Formula(殺菌方) that is used for the treatment of all kinds of bacterially caused diseases. I prescribed by consulting the appearance of disease and general symptoms of each case with Dongyi Soose Bowon(東醫壽世保元)'s prescription symptoms. Result: Two of them showing severe symptoms were hospitalized, while three others took OPD treatment. The patient who was PANCREOTONIA and Soyangin improved through hospitalization for three days, another patient who was PULMOTONIA and Taeyangin with severe symptoms, improved through hospitalization for seven days, and completely recovered through OPD treatment later. The three others took only OPD treatment, and improved within 5-7 days. Conclusion: I confirmed that each of 8-constituions and Sasang Constitutions were all treated effectively without antibiotics.
