The Improved Characteristics of the Stand-alone PV System by the Independent Battery Control Method (밧데리 개별 제어 방식에 의한 소규모 독립형 태양광 발전 시스템의 특성 개선)

  • This paper studies the stand-alone photovoltaic system for the solar lighting lamp. The solar lighting lamp has PV modules, batteries, and charge & discharge system. The charge efficiency is improved for the control of each battery which is divided the charge from the discharge to change the structure of existing solar lighting lamp charge & discharge system. so, the charge and discharge times are reduced of 50% and the depth of discharge control can be controlled in the discharge cut off voltage. It can be effective of the battery use. If a battery is out of order, this system can be executed for a regular period. So we saved the repair cost and developed of system's stabilization. It Is possible to make economical effects to apply for solar lighting lamp used photovoltaic system.

  • In this paper, an integrated low-voltage control circuit is introduced for a charge pump DC-DC boost converter. By exploiting the advantage of the integration of the feedback control circuit within CMOS technology, the charge pump boost converter offers a low-current operation with small ripple voltage. The error amplifier, comparator, and oscillator in the control circuit are designed with the supply voltage of 3.3 V and the operating frequency of 1.6~5.5 MHz. The charge pump converter with the 4 or 8 pump stages is measured in simulation. The test in the $0.35{\mu}m$ CMOS process shows that the load current and ripple ratio are controlled under 1 mA and 2% respectively. The output-voltage is obtained from 4.8 ~ 8.5 V with the supply voltage of 3.3 V.

  • We have investigated the effect of interface trap charge on the characteristics of a monolithic 3D inverter by TCAD simulation. The interface trap charge affects the variation of the threshold voltage and threshold voltage. also The interface trap charge affects the IN/OUT characteristics of the monolithic 3D inverter.

  • Charge pump based upon a phase locked loop(PLL) is described. This charge pump show that it is possible to overcome the issue of charge pump current mismatch by using a current subtraction circuit. Also, this charge pump can suppress reference spurs and disturbance of the VCO control voltage. HSPICE simulations are performed using 0.25$\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS process.

Charge Balance Control Methods for a Class of Fundamental Frequency Modulated Asymmetric Cascaded Multilevel Inverters

  • Modulation strategies for multilevel inverters have typically focused on synthesizing a desired set of sinusoidal voltage waveforms using a fixed number of dc voltage sources. This makes the average power drawn from different dc voltage sources unequal and time varying. Therefore, the dc voltage sources are unregulated and require that corrective control action be incorporated. In this paper, first two new selections are proposed for determining the dc voltage sources values for asymmetric cascaded multilevel inverters. Then two modulation strategies are proposed for the dc power balancing of these types of multilevel inverters. Using the charge balance control methods, the power drawn from all of the dc sources are balanced except for the dc source used in the first H-bridge. The proposed control methods are validated by simulation and experimental results on a single-phase 21-level inverter.

  • The lifetime of a battery that supplies all the power required by a satellite in the eclipse is directly related to the lifetime of the satellite. Because the lifetime of the battery is influenced by the charging method of the battery, the power control unit that controls the charging of the battery should be designed in consideration of battery life. The battery charging is performed by controlling the charge current in the power control unit generated from the solar cell in the daytime. In order to prevent overcharge of the battery and for considering frequency of eclipse in each season, parameters related battery charging should be designed differently according to the season and to prevent over-current charging and over-voltage charging during charging, charge current is controlled by monitoring battery charge / discharge status, charge current amount, battery voltage, battery capacity, battery temperature and battery cell voltage. In satellite, tapering method is used to control charge current by reflecting each condition. In this paper, design battery charging algorithm of satellite power control unit using tapering charging method. convert the designed algorithm into a code that can be uploaded to satellites and verify the operation through testing in the established satellite environment.

  • Due to their better photosensitivity in X-ray, the amorphous selenium based photoreceptor is widely used on the X-ray conversion materials. It was possible to control the charge carrier transport of amorphous selenium by suitably alloying a-Se with other elements(e,g. As, Cl). The charge transport properties of amorphous Selenium is decided on hole which is induced from metal to selenium in metal-selenium junction and which is transferred in a-Se bulk. This phenomenon is resulted of changing electric field owing to increasing of space charge by deep trap of a-Se bulk. In this paper, We dopped the chlorine to compensate deep hole trap and deposited blocking layer using dielectric material to prevent from increasing space charge for injection charge between metal electrode and a-Se layer. We compared space charge and the decreasing of trap density through measuring dark and photo current.

  • This paper presents battery charging method using 3-phase AC-DC boost converter. General battery charging method is that charging the battery voltage to the reference voltage according to the constant current(CC) control, when it reaches the reference voltage, charging the battery fully according to the constant voltage(CV) control. However, battery chaging time is increased because of the battery impedance, constant current charging section which shoud take the large amount of charge is narrow, and constant voltage charging section which can generate insufficient charge is widen. To improve this problem, we proposes the method to reduce the charging time according to the SOC(State of Charge) estimation using battery impedance.
