묘박 중 외력에 의한 선체의 운동 특성 (Characteristic of hull motion due to external forces at anchor)

  • In order to provide basic data to increase the efficiency and stability of seamanship at anchoring, the characteristics of the hull motion including dragging anchor due to external forces were observed at Mokpo and Jinhae anchorage for the avoidance of the typhoon. As a result, it is necessary to check the embedding motion and holding power of the anchor according to at initial position to decrease dragging anchor. Dragging anchor at anchorage seems to have been easily caused according to discrepancy between embedded anchor flukes and the towing direction due to the change in wind direction, rather than the wind speed. This discrepancy, thus, should be considered when anchoring. This test vessel with a small radius of curvature of the stem is relatively vulnerable to the influence of wind direction and wind speed, so it is easy to cause a decrease in the holding power due to an increase in the rate of turn. When the current speed is greater than or equal to 1 knot, the range of the rate of turn is reduced resulting in a relatively increased holding power. In addition, during the swing, the tension of the chain was high according to the angular velocity change of heading at three-quarters of the swing length rather than the left and right ends.

  • This paper presents a cooling system using thermoelectron for improving the output of BIPV module. The temperature characteristic in regard to improving the output of BIPV system has rarely teen studied up to now but some researchers only presented the method using a ventilator. The cooling system efficiency of BIPV module applied to a ventilator mainly depends on the weather such as wind, insolation etc. Because the cooling system of BIPV module using a ventilator is so sensitive, that is being set off by wind speed at all time but is unable to operate in the NOCT(Nominal Operating Cell Temperature) which is able to make the maximum output. The paper presents the cooling system using thermoelectron so as to solve such problems. The temperature control of thermoelectron can be controlled independently in the outside environment because that is performed by micro-controller. The temperature control of thermoelectron, also, can be operated around NOCT through algorithm of the temperature control. Therefore, outputs of the whole system increase and the efficiency rises. The paper demonstrates the validity of proposed method by comparing the data obtained through a experiment of the cooling method of BIPV using a ventilator and proposed thermoelectron.

A New Approach of BLDC Motor Using Unidirectional Current in the Driver Circuit and its Future Prospects

  • Climate change and other pollutions make a huge demand of environment friendly and high efficient motors especially Brushless DC (BLDC) motors. Generally, bidirectional energized BLDC motors are used widely; however, inverter devices used in the driver put fear of being effected by noise. This paper proposes unidirectional energized BLDC motor which utilizes asymmetrical H-bridge circuit as the driver circuit. The Minato motor is one of the pioneers in unidirectional energized system. The use of bar magnets in the rotor is one of the biggest disadvantages of the motor. We proposed using tabular magnets. The paper compares the power consumption and efficiency of the Minato motor and the proposed motor. During high speed rotation, undesirable armature current is generated that has a deceleration characteristic. This current lowers the motor's efficiency. In this paper, we propose the solutions and show comparison through equations of the copper loss ratio for the Minato and our proposed motors. The third motor, which has the highest efficiency, was discovered during examination of the equations.

Modeling of a Compressed Air Energy Electrification by Using Induction Generator Based on Field Oriented Control Principle

  • The objective of this paper is to propose a modelling of a small compressed air energy storage system, which drives an induction generator based on a field-oriented control (FOC) principle for a renewable power generation. The proposed system is a hybrid technology of energy storage and electrification, which is developed to use as a small scale of renewable energy power plant. The energy will be transferred from the renewable energy resource to the compressed air energy by reciprocating air compressor to be stored in a pressurized vessel. The energy storage system uses a small compressed air energy storage system, developed as a small unit and installed above ground to avoid site limitation as same as the conventional CAES does. Therefore, it is suitable to be placed at any location. The system is operated in low pressure not more than 15 bar, so, it easy to available component in country and inexpensive. The power generation uses a variable speed induction generator (IG). The relationship of pressure and air flow of the compressed air, which varies continuously during the discharge of compressed air to drive the generator, is considered as a control command. As a result, the generator generates power in wide speed range. Unlike the conventional CAES that used gas turbine, this system does not have any combustion units. Thus, the system does not burn fuel and exhaust pollution. This paper expresses the modelling, thermodynamic analysis simulation and experiment to obtain the characteristic and performance of a new concept of a small compressed air energy storage power plant, which can be helpful in system designing of renewable energy electrification. The system was tested under a range of expansion pressure ratios in order to determine its characteristics and performance. The efficiency of expansion air of 49.34% is calculated, while the efficiency of generator of 60.85% is examined. The overall efficiency of system of approximately 30% is also investigated.

유체커플링에서 유량과 동력전달특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Power Transmission Characteristics Flow Rate in Fluid Couplings)

  • The fluid coupling combined with a pump and a turbine have many merits compared with other couplings, their uses are increesing rapidly in various industrial fields at home and abroad in pursuit of high-speed more efficiency durability of various mechanic devices. The authorities concerned have recognized the improtance of the fluid coupling and supported its developement and now some trial products began to show up. As the structrue and characteristics of the fluid coupling have little similarity to other kinds of couplings and its fluid behavior is unique, so its characteristic analysis is expected to be difficult. Until now no satisfactory study on the characteristics of the fluid coupling seems to have been conducted at home, so a study on this field needs to be done urgently. The purpose of this research is to construct the experimental test set-ups and establish a series of performance test program for the domestically developed fluid couplings and to provide a software to store and utilize these experimental data which can be used to improve the performance of the fluid coupling and solve on the job problems confronted in operation. The performance test consists of taking measurment of torque, rpm and efficiency of the fluid coupling for three different amount of working fluid inside with various loads to the output shaft and finally infestigating the torque, rpm and efficiency characteristics of the fluid coupling with respect to these parameters. The results of this study can contribute valuable references to the development of variable speed fluid coupling and torque converter currently pursued by the domestic industry.

해안림에 의한 풍속저감 효과의 수치적 모의 (Numerical Simulation of the Wind Speed Reduction by Coastal Forest Belts)

  • The objective of this study is to develop numerical simulation model for analysing the wind speed reduction effect by coastal forest belts. The horizontally homogeneous turbulent flow equations, which are derived from the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes method, both above the tree canopy and within the canopy were first formulated, and a first-order closure scheme with the capability of accounting the bulk momentum transport term within the canopy was employed. The averaged equations were solved numerically by finite difference method, FTCS (forward time centered space) scheme. The proposed model was also used to numerically investigate the effects of structural characteristic of forest belt on the wind speed. The effects of maximum leaf area density were evaluated, with the leaf area density of $1.0m^2/m^3$, $2.0m^2/m^3$, $3.0m^2/m^3$, and $4.0m^2/m^3$. Vertical distributions of leaf area, both uniform and varied distribution with a height, were also considered. A comparison of wind profile indicated that there was in good agreements between simulated and measured wind speed. Also, the results showed horizontal wind speed decreased under a height of the tree with increasing maximum leaf area density. In conclusion, in applications where computational efficiency and simplicity are desirable, the proposed numerical model has of great capability to determine the vertical turbulent momentum transport and wind profile in the costal forest belt.

내부정합된 GaN HMET를 이용한 광대역 J-급 전력증폭기 설계 (Wideband Class-J Power Amplifier Design Using Internal Matched GaN HEMT)

  • 이동통신 시스템의 멀티미디어 서비스 확산과 고속통신 기능의 수요를 충족시키기 위해서 다중대역 전력증폭기의 고효율, 광대역 특성 및 비선형 특성의 개선이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 J-급 전력증폭기 동작조건을 만족하는 2차 고조파 정합회로를 단일-스터브 정합회로로 구성하였다. 광대역 J-급 동작조건을 만족시키기 위해 단일-스터브 정합회로는 낮은 특성임피던스를 갖는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 낮은 특성 임피던스를 갖는 단일-스터브 정합회로를 패키지 내에 높은 유전율의 세라믹 기판을 이용하여 구현하였다. 이에 따라 2차 고조파 정합회로가 패키지된 GaN HEMT와 외부 기본파 정합회로를 이용하여 넓은 주파수 대역에서 J-급 출력 임피던스 조건을 만족하는 전력증폭기를 구현하였다. 제작된 J-급 전력증폭기 측정 결과, 1.8~2.7 GHz(900 MHz)의 대역폭에서 50 W(47 dBm) 이상의 출력전력과 최대 72.6 %의 드레인 효율, 최대 66.5 %의 PAE 특성을 확인하였다.

고속 RFID 필터링 엔진의 설계와 캐쉬 기반 성능 향상 (Design of a High-Speed RFID Filtering Engine and Cache Based Improvement)

  • 본 논문은 다수의 RFID 태그가 사용되고 있는 환경에서 고속 필터링을 수행하기 위한 필터링 엔진을 설계한다. 이를 위하여 우리는 고속 라우터나 방화벽에 적용되었던 고속 패킷 필터링 기법이 RFID 데이터 필터링과 매우 유사함을 보이고 그 중 대표적인 기법인 Bit Parallelism 기반의 Aggregated Bit Vector(ABV)를 고속 RFID 필터링 엔진에 적용한다. 또한, RFID 데이터 필터링의 성향을 관찰한 결과 태그 인식 및 필터 부합의 시간적 중복성을 발견하고 두 가지 캐쉬(태그 캐쉬, 필터 캐쉬)를 적용하여 추가적인 필터링 성능 향상을 꾀하였다. 설계한 RFID 고속 필터링 엔진의 성능 평가를 위해 프로토타입 애플리케이션을 제작하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 결과로써 기존의 순차적인 RFID 데이터 필터링에 비해 고속의 필터링 성능을 보이며 특히 필터의 수가 증가할수록 필터링의 효율이 높아짐을 보인다.

소형 무인항공기 탑재형 안테나 개발 (Development of Flight Antennas for Micro Aerial Vehicle)

  • The existing antenna that equipped with Micro Aerial Vehicle, microstrip antenna only can send and receive image signal because of limited bandwidth. But, proposed antenna that equipped with Micro Aerial Vehicle flight introduces tapered type patch antenna, also improves bandwidth then can transfer present location, altitude, movement speed. Furthermore, as a result of introduce stacked type, it transfers more quality of image signal, and represents most suitable performance in Korean peninsula that has many mountain peaks. In this paper, to transmit and receive the wideband signals with a antenna system, the wideband microstrip antenna is proposed and designed. This antenna operates at 2.4GHz. In this thesis, the resonance frequency of 2.4GHz and the reflective loss of the antenna of -22dB were calculated by measuring the fabricated Tapered Microstrip Patch Antenna which was designed with the resonance of 2.4GHz. The calculated gain and efficiency of antenna were 6.7dB and $60\%$ respectively. The characteristic of the bandwidth shows with $50\~60MHz$ which is $6.02\%$ at the basis of -l5dB reflective loss. The experimental results can be used in the characteristic of the resonators and this antenna produces a greatly enhanced bandwidth.

MCSA 기반의 BLDC 모터 기어박스의 고장 진단 (Fault Diagnosis Based on MCSA for Gearbox of BLDC Motor)

  • In this paper, the fault diagnosis for a gearbox of BLDC motor. The stator of BLDC motor consists of coil winding so it is easy to cool down and it also has a high reliability. In addition, it doesn't have a brush so it is less trouble and good in maintenance. Coupling with the motor which is the power sources, the gear has a high power transfer efficiency and various rotation speed. The gear gets a high driving force through deceleration. Thus it has been widely used. The gearbox fault detection area has not attracted much attention from electrical engineering community. A few papers describe gearbox fault based on vibration. Gearbox fault is diagnosed through FFT analysis of current and voltage. Fault characteristic frequency side band detected by calculating fault frequency. A threshold value is suggested by comparing normal peak value with fault peak value using detected fault characteristic frequency side band. Experimental results demonstrate that motor current and voltage signal analysis are viable tools in detecting these gear faults. Lower side band(LSB) is bigger than upper side band(USB) in current FFT. LSB and USB are similar in voltage FFT. Finally, fault diagnosis system that can easily detect flaws is developted for gearbox of BLDC motor.
