Experimental Study of Wall Pressure Fluctuations in the Regions of Flow Transition (천이 경계층 유동의 벽면 변동 압력에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • It has been long suspected that the transition region may give rise to local pressure fluctuations and radiated sound that are different from those created by the fully-developed turbulent boundary layer at equivalent Reynolds number. Experimental investigation described in this paper concerns the characteristics of pressure fluctuations at the transition. Flush-mounted microphones and hot wires are used to measure the pressure fluctuations and local flow velocities within the boudary layer in the low noise wind tunnel. From this experimental we could observe the spatial and temporal development process of T-S wave using Wigner-Ville method and found the possibility of relation between the characteristic frequency of T-S wave and free stream velocity and the boundary layer thickness based on nondimensional pressure spectra scaled on outer variables.

  • The powershift transmission have the advantage of easier operation and higher efficiency by using the hydraulic clutch and mechanical power transfer system. It is important to control the engaging pressure and time. The hydraulic control system is used for these controls of the modulator valve, the accumulator, the sump valve and etc. This study have made a simulator for verifying the pressure characteristic of the shuttle powershift transmission and developed the computer simulation model of the hydraulic components and system by using 'AMESim'. As a result, the design parameters which have an effect on the pressure modulation are verified to the spring stiffness of the modulator valve and the volume of the accumulator.

  • The fabrication and performance of a thin film pressure sensor are described. Cu-Ni thin film strain gauges have been fabricated by RF magnetron sputtering. For all the gauges, the relative chance in resistance ΔR/R with pressure is of the order 10$^{-3}$ for the maximum pressure. The output characteristic is found to be linear over the entire Pressure range (0-30kgf/cm$^2$) and the output sensitivity is 1.6 mV/V. The maximum nonlinearity observed in output characteristics is 0.34%FS for 5V excitation and the hysteresis is less than 0.1%FS.

  • The present study concerns the stern slamming load of container carriers, with stern bulb arrangement variation. First, a series of wedge drop tests were conducted using simple wedge models with fixed deadrise angles, and tests with the cross-section models of practical container carrier sterns were followed. The deadrise angle of the simple wedge ranged from 0° to 10°. The pressure measurement results of the simple wedge drop tests were distributed between empirical formula and analytic solution, so the experimental setup was validated. In the cases of practical hull cross-sections, the water entry of the bulb prior to that of the transom resulted in characteristic water film generation and delayed pressure peak appearance. The trapped air between the bulbs damped the pressure in the twin skeg hull case, reducing the pressure peak and causing the pressure oscillation during water entry.

  • Film cooling effectiveness on a flat plate was measured with pressure sensitive paint. The pressure sensitive paint(PSP) changes the intensity of its emissive light with pressure and the characteristic was used in film cooling effectiveness measurement. The film coolants were air and nitrogen, and by comparing the intensity of PSP coated surface with each coolant, the film cooling effectiveness was calculated. Three blowing ratio of 0.5, 1, and 2 were tested with two mainstream turbulence intensities. Results clearly showed the effect of blowing ratio and mainstream turbulence intensity. As the blowing ratio increases, the film cooling effectiveness was decreased near the film cooling holes. However, the film cooling effectiveness far downstream from the injection hole was higher for higher blowing ratio. As the mainstream turbulence intensity increased, the film cooling effectiveness was decreased at far downstream from the injection hole.

  • A TVS and Varistor are preservative equipment against electro static discharge(ESD). We use a TVS for I/O protection of a circuit which has faster response time than a Varistor. And a Varistor has large power capability, therefore, which be used in input stage for internal pressure prevention. This paper will compare a TVS with a Varistor with respect to response characteristic to ESD in DC 24[V] low voltage circuit.

  • In this paper the characteristics of Hydrostatic Bearing of piston of cylinder are investigated . The dynamic characteristic equations of piston considering both parallel and rotational motion and time dependent modified Reynolds Equation are analyzed and the dynamic pressure distribution of oil film is numerically calculated by perturbation method and finite difference method. and the atatic analysis is carried out. so, the influence of design parameter of piston on the characteristic of bearing is analyzed.

  • This study investigated one-dimensional vertical infiltration to an unsaturated residual soil by numerical solutions, FDM. In order to estimate the parameters needed for numerical analysis, tire soil-water characteristic curve(SWCC) of Shinnae-dong soil, one of the most typical residual soils in Korea, were experimentally obtained. Then, the statistical analysis for obtaining the SWCC was performed. The numerical solution to the linearized governing equation for unsaturated groundwater flow provides the infiltration characteristics for the unsaturated residual soil represented by transient pressure profiles and water contents profiles.

  • The regulator that was designed for space use must be operating on the severe circumstance. For example, operating temperature is below 90K and operating pressure is 20.7 MPa.
