  • This paper presents a method for optimizing a carrying pose of human body for a given object. The inputs are articulated human body model and and arbitrary-shaped object. We assume that the object is big and heavy, so that both arms should be used to carry it. Unlike small and light objects, big and heaby objects can be hold by only a small range of body poses while keeping a physical statbility. We first introduce an algorithm that evaluates a physical stability of a given human body pose and object state (position and orientation). Then, we define a configuration space and search the space for the most stable carrying pose by using the evaluation algorithm. Finally, to demonstrate the usability of our method, we present the results which each is experimented with different shaped objects and additional user conditions.

  • The purpose of this study is to classify of the ancient belt 'the Gwathai' especially in the timesof three countries. For this purpose the Gwathai was classified as to the motif which was decorated on the plate of the Gwathai and also another parts of the Gwathai were studied. The Gwathai could be classified of three parts. The first rectangular plate and the hanging part with heart motif and the second reverse-heart plate. The character of the third part was the specificity of the plate motif. Also there was a hanging part at the Gwathai and it was organized with the diverse form At first it was used for the practical pur-pose and then later for the decorational pur-pose. But this study could'nt reval the chang channel of the Gwathai and the relation be-tween region. This is the limit of this study. So more study is necessary to clarify this point.

  • In early stages of film or animation production, storyboard is used to visually describe the outline of a story. Drawings or photographs, as well as the texts, are employed for character / item placements and camera pose. However, commercially available storyboard tools are mainly drawing and editing tools, not providing functionality for item placement and camera control. In this paper, an Augmented Reality based storyboard tool is presented, which provides an intuitive and easy-to-use interface for storyboard development. Using the presented tool, non-expert users may compose 30 scenes in his or her real environments through tangible building blocks which are used to fetch corresponding 3D models and their pose.

  • Identifying and searching for characters appearing in scenes during multimedia video editing is an arduous and time-consuming process. Applying artificial intelligence to labor-intensive media editing tasks can greatly reduce media production time, improving the creative process efficiency. In this paper, a method is proposed which combines existing artificial intelligence based techniques to automate character recognition and search tasks for video editing. Object detection, face detection, and pose estimation are used for character localization and face recognition and color space analysis are used to extract unique representation information.

  • Timing plays a key role in expressing the qualitative aspects of a character's motion; that is, conveying emotional state, personality, and character role, all potentially without changing spatial positions. Temporal editing of locomotion style is particularly difficult for a novice animator since observers are not well attuned to the sense of weight and energy displayed through motion timing; and the interface for adjusting timing is far less intuitive to use than that for adjusting pose. In this paper, we propose an editing system that effectively captures the timing variations in an example locomotion set and utilizes them for style transfer from one motion to another via both global and upper-body timing transfers. The global timing transfer focuses on matching the input motion to the body speed of the selected example motion, while the upper-body timing transfer propagates the sense of movement flow - succession - through the torso and arms. Our transfer process is based on key times detected from the example set and transferring the relative changes of angle rotation in the upper body joints from a timing source to an input target motion. We demonstrate that our approach is practical in an interactive application such that a set of short locomotion cycles can be applied to generate a longer sequence with continuously varied timings.

  • The market of digital avatar with internet and digital technology is increasing rapidly. The users want to express any free-formed motion of their avatars in the cyber space. The user s motion capturing method as the avatar's motion can express any free-formed motion of the avatar in real-time but the methods are expensive and inconvenient. In this paper, we proposed a new method of expressing any free-formed motion of the avatar in real-time. The proposed method is an algorithm for real-time control of a 3D avatar in symmetry-formed free motion. Specially, the algorithm aims at the motion control of a 3D avatar for online dancing games. The proposed algorithm uses the skeleton character model and controls any one of two hands of the character model by a joystick with two sticks. In the symmetry-formed motion, the position and orientation of one hand can determine the position and orientation of the other hand. And the position and orientation of a hand as an end-effector can determine the pose of the arm by Inverse Kinematics. So the algorithm can control the symmetry-formed free motions of two arms by one joystick with two sticks. In the dance game, the algorithm controls the arm motion by the joystick and the other motion by the motion captured DB.

  • Named entity recognition (NER) is a crucial task for NLP, which aims to extract information from texts. To build NER systems, deep learning (DL) models are learned with dictionary features by mapping each word in the dataset to dictionary features and generating a unique index. However, this technique might generate noisy labels, which pose significant challenges for the NER task. In this paper, we proposed DL-dictionary features, and evaluated them on two datasets, including the OntoNotes 5.0 dataset and our new infectious disease outbreak dataset named GFID. We used (1) a Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) character and (2) pre-trained embedding to concatenate with (3) our proposed features, named the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), BiLSTM, and self-attention dictionaries, respectively. The combined features (1-3) were fed through BiLSTM - Conditional Random Field (CRF) to predict named entity classes as outputs. We compared these outputs with other predictions of the BiLSTM character, pre-trained embedding, and dictionary features from previous research, which used the exact matching and partial matching dictionary technique. The findings showed that the model employing our dictionary features outperformed other models that used existing dictionary features. We also computed the F1 score with the GFID dataset to apply this technique to extract medical or healthcare information.

  • This paper addresses the issue of continuous user authentication within the metaverse environment. Recently, the metaverse plays a vital role in personal interaction, entertainment, education, and business, bringing forth significant security concerns. Particularly, vulnerabilities related to user identity verification have emerged as a major issue. This research proposes a novel method to verify identities by analyzing users' character movements in the metaverse through a pose estimation model. This method uses only video data for authentication, allowing flexibility in limited environments, and investigates how character movements contribute to user identification through various experiments. Furthermore, it explores the potential for extending this approach to other digital platforms. This research is expected to significantly contribute to enhancing security and innovating user identity verification methods in the metaverse environment.

  • A method to visualize human body is proposed for various human pose. The method affords three 3D-styles of the same body: firstly, one which wares clothes specified from pattern of dresses, second, body shape, lastly bone structure of body. For this objective, standard body data are prepared which is constructed from CT images. Individual body is measured by 3D body scanner. The present status of our research is limited to offer still images, though we are engaged to accommodate various poses.
