  • In this paper, we investigate a new approach pilot-symbol-aided channel estimation for orthogonal frequency division multi-plexing (OFDM) systems. Until now, lots of channel estimation methods are proposed. The pilot symbol assisted modulation (PSAM) has good performance. But, our proposed Algorithm has more good performance than the conventional PSAM system. Our algorithm is that channel estimation performance using the less inserted pilot-symbols systems is almost same to the two times inserted pilot-symbols system. The proposed method is highly robust to fast Rayleigh fading channel. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the performance of our proposed algorithm.

  • In this paper, we design a segment training based individual channel estimation (STICE) scheme for the classical two-way relay network (TWRN) with multi-pair sources (MPS) and amplify-and-forward (AF). We adopt the linear minimum mean square error (LMMSE) channel estimator to minimize the mean square error (MSE) without channel estimation error, where the optimal power allocation strategy from the relay for different sources is obtained. Then the MSE gains are given with different source pairs among the proposed power allocation scheme and the existing power allocation schemes. Numerical results show that the proposed method outperforms the existing ones.

  • How well the self-interference cancellation (SIC) technique performs is a primary issue in realizing an in-band full-duplex (FD) wireless communication system. One factor affecting its performance is channel estimation error on the self-interference channel. We propose a new analog SIC scheme which is robust to channel estimation error. It uses phase rotators in the radio frequency (RF) chain. We also derive closed-form equations for the residual self-interference of the proposed and the conventional schemes. The analytical and numerical results show that the residual self-interference under the proposed SIC scheme is less than that using the conventional scheme, even though channel estimation error is present.

  • The polyphase filter-based orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (PF-OFDM) is proposed in [1]. It provides more efficient data transmission mechanism than the classical OFDM method. However, the channel estimation mechanism in the classical OFDM system such as the cyclic prefix can not be applied straightforwardly, since the received signal contains unpredictable terms. Therefore, the PF-OFDM system requires a complicated channel estimation scheme when it works on the multipath fading communication channel. In this paper, we proposed a pilot-symbol aided channel estimation algorithm suitable for the PF-OFDM system which efficiently deals with the unpredictable terms and verified its performance through a series of computer simulations.

  • Conventional channel estimation methods for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system don't show the good characteristics in terms of fast fading channels. To solve this drawback in conventional methods, we propose the channel estimation method fur OFDM, assisted pilot for improvement and convergence in mobile system (APIM), which has a good performance and computational complexity in consideration of other methods. APIM uses the more developed concept of conventional methods and a block frame structure within a whole channel. This concept prevents overall performance from diverging or showing a poor one. The simulation results demonstrate the APIM outperforms pilot symbol assisted modulation (PSAM) and extended symbol aided estimation (ESAE) in terms of mean square error (MSE) and bit error rate (BER) performance under all Rayleigh fading environment. Considering the simulation performance and computational complexity, we can see APIM shows better characteristics than conventional methods for OFDM and has not any error floor even in a fast Rayleigh fading environment.

  • In this paper, we propose a subspace channel estimation technique for DS/CDMA DMB down link system, which can obtain reduction in numerical complexity by using of matched filtering outputs. The complexity reduction is considerable when the channel length is small and the system is moderately loaded. Previously proposed subspace-based blind channel estimation algorithm suffer from high numerical complexity for systems with large spreading gains. Although the proposed algerian suffers a slight performance loss, it becomes negligible for large observation length. Performance is evaluated through simulations and the derivation of the analytical MSE.

  • In this paper, we propose a new channel estimation technique for long code DS-CDMA DMB down link system which estimate the channel response based on the signal space vector only, unlike the most conventional sub-space method relying on the orthogonal property of noise space vectors to the signal space vector. Because of this property of the proposed method, very optimum covariance matrix in its dimension can be used in subspace analysis channel estimation technique otherwise it is likely too large to be implemented practically.

  • This letter addresses the superimposed pilot aided multiuser channel estimation for the uplinks of multi-input multi-output orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing systems. To mitigate the embedded-data effects on the performance of channel estimation, a novel combining algorithm is proposed. Optimal pilot symbols are developed with respect to the least square channel estimate's mean square error. The averaged sum-capacity lower bound is derived and simulated. Simulation results show that on a low signal-to-noise ratio regime, our proposed scheme achieves better performance and higher capacity than the conventional pilot aided approach.

  • In multicarrier code-division multiple access (MC-CDMA) systems, conventional blind channel estimation schemes require the inverse matrix calculation or eigenvalue decomposition of the received signal covariance matrix. Therefore, computational complexity of the conventional schemes is too high and they cannot be employed in downlink systems. In this paper, we propose a simple blind channel estimation scheme with very low computational complexity. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme has better channel estimation and bit error rate (BER) performance than the conventional schemes.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel channel estimation method based on pilot channel in a frequency interleaved multicarrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA). Using the chip interleaving (CI) technique in the frequency domain make it possible to achieve higher frequency diversity gain than the system with conventional symbol interleaving. However, in CI-MC-CDMA systems, a pilot channel-based channel estimation (PCCE) cannot be applied because the orthogonality between pilot symbols and the data symbol is not maintained. The proposed method alters the system structure in order to maintain orthogonality between data and pilot channels over two consecutive subcarriers. Therefore, it can obtain accurate channel state information (CSI) in CI-MC-CDMA.
