Purpose - The objectives of this study are as follows. First, it aims to suggest an analysis model that has integrated the relationship between the two factors and export performance and conduct an empirical analysis of the factors. Second, the study seeks to analyze the mediating effect by setting direct channel governance as a specific activity to connect market orientation, a cultural asset, to export performance. Third, through these analyses, the study intends to apply the relationship between market orientation and direct channel governance that the existing studies have failed to observe comprehensively on SMEs in Korea. Based on these analyses, the study expects to expand the discussion of previous researches by analyzing the mediating effect of direct channel governance. Research design, data, and methodology - This study developed a model that has integrated market orientation, direct channel governance, and export performance. It established 7 hypotheses including the mediating effect of direct channel governance. Market orientation was consisted of customer orientation and competitor orientation, and 4 latent variables were measured by 18 questions. LISREL, an analysis tool of structural equation model, was used for hypothesis test and there were 183 sample for analysis. Results - The analysis results showed that customer orientation has a positive influence on direct channel governance, but competitor orientation did not have a statistically significant effect. On the contrary, export performance showed an opposite result. That is, customer orientation did not have any influence but competitor orientation had a significant influence on export performance. It was also confirmed that there was a significant influence in the relationship between channel governance and export performance. According to the analysis of mediating effect, direct channel governance had a full mediating effect between customer orientation and export performance. Conclusions - The study results demonstrated that it is important to build a direct channel governance on the export SMEs in Korea, especially since the direct channel governance complements the influence of customer orientation that does not directly influence export performance among market orientation activities. This implies that Korean export SMEs must strive to build an effective direct channel governance.
In order to maintain high level of control over and close coordination of foreign marketing activities, export manufacturers often consider vertical integration strategy into global distribution. However, full integration is not always a feasible option. The purpose of this study is to investigate the alternative ways to achieve optimal level of control over export channel system for desirable channel performance. This study investigates different options for integration of the vertical channel structure, and examines their effect on the performance. The findings of this study suggest different combination of ownership and coordination level has varying impact upon channel performance: efficiency, effectiveness, and adaptiveness. This implies exporters may achieve desirable performance control over export channel without fully integrating the channel via ownership.
A hybrid performance prediction method is proposed in the present study. A channel diffuser is divided into four subregions: vaneless space, semi-vaneless space, channel, and channel exit region. One-dimensional compressible core flow and boundary layer calculation of each region with an incidence loss model and empirical correlation of residuary pressure recovery coefficient of a channel predict the performance of diffusers. Three channel diffusers are designed and tested for validating the developed prediction method. The pressure distributions from an impeller exit to the channel diffuser exit are measured and discussed for various operating conditions from choke to nearly surge conditions. The strong non-uniform pressure distribution which is caused by impeller-diffuser interaction is obtained over the vaneless and semi-vaneless spaces. The predicted performance shows good agreement with the measured performance of diffusers at a design condition as well as at off-design conditions.
The performances of side channel type regenerative blowers were evaluated by the blower performance test, 1-D performance prediction and CFD. The performance prediction method was modified using the results of the performance test and CFD and applied to the design of the new regenerative blowers. The major geometric parameters such as channel height, channel area and expansion angle were decided from the performance prediction method for the improved models and the predicted results were compared with CFD and experimental data. Both of the modified models showed improved efficiency at the operating condition. Especially, model3 could be possible to reduce operating rotating speed, that is benefit to noise performance, because of the high head performance at the design point. The CFD results showed that the performance of the regenerative blower was influenced by the secondary circulatory flow in the channel.

This paper proposes an adaptive channel estimation scheme for OFDM-based IEEE 802.11ad wireless local area network (WLAN). The standard supports two types of information of OFDM packets for estimating the communication channels, which are the channel estimation field (CEF) of preamble and pilot subcarriers. The CEF-based channel estimation provides better BER (bit error rate) performance at slow fading channel state, whereas the pilot-based channel estimation is good at fast fading channel state. Hence, a combined channel estimation method is introduced to improve the performance. The prediction of the channel state to select the proper channel estimation method is required. In this work, an adaptive channel estimation scheme is also proposed to improve the performance of channel estimation (CE). Basing on a channel quality indicator (CQI), the proper channel estimation method corresponding to the channel type is decided.
We consider a cognitive network with a primary and a secondary channel. Primary users have higher priority on the usage of the primary channel, and secondary users are allowed to opportunistically access the primary channel at times when the channel is not occupied by primary users. The secondary channel is dedicated only to secondary users. An analytical model is presented to obtain the performance of an opportunistic spectrum access using both the primary and secondary channels, and is validated by simulations.
The performance of a coherent rake receiver of DS-CDMA systems is significantly affected by the accuracy of channel estimation. The performance of the channel estimator can be improved by employing a channel estimation filter (CEF) whose impulse response is adjusted according to the channel condition. In this paper, we consider the design of an adaptive channel estimator for DS-CDMA systems with a pilot channel. The proposed channel estimator estimates the channel condition, which can be performed without haying exact a priori information on the operating condition. The estimated channel condition adjusts the impulse response of the CEF. Numerical results show that the use of the proposed channel estimator can provide BER performance quite robust to a wide range of channel condition.
The effects of channel area on the performance of regenerative type fuel pump were numerically studied by commercial CFD code (ANSYS CFX-10). To examine the effects of channel area, the shapes of the side channel and blade were simplified. The channel area affected the flow characteristics of the internal recirculation flow between the side channel and the blade groove and also made a difference in the overall performance. These loss mechanism with circulation flow were adopted as a loss coefficient in the performance prediction program. The loss coefficient was newly derived from the results of calculations with different channel area, and compared with the experimental results in the reference paper and used to modify the performance prediction program. The circulation flow characteristics with different channel area, which is related with loss mechanism, were also discussed with the results of 3-dimensional flow calculations.
Purpose: Distribution competence plays a key role in supply chain management. A successful distribution system will bring high values and profit for company. Omni-channel is a modern type of distribution which is used by many companies to access customers more effectively. This research is about the influence of distribution competence on customer value creation, competitive advantage and business performance of retailers in omni-channel. Research design, data and methodology: Questionnaires were issued to 200 managers who have experiences in using an Omni-channel to provide consumer goods. PLS-SEM is used to check the relationship among these above factors in omni-channel in Vietnam context. Results: Distribution competence has positive direct effect on business performance. At the same time, it has positive indirect effect on business performance through the mediating role of customer value creation and competitive advantage. Moreover, the role of mediating variables make contribution to strengthen the relationship of distribution competence and business performance in omni-channel. Conclusions: Through distribution competence, retailers can get competitive advantage, create more values for customers and increase business performance in omni channel in Vietnam.

IEEE 802.11 devices are widely used, and terminals can be equipped with multiple IEEE 802.11 interfaces as low-cost IEEE 802.11 devices are deployed. The off-the-shelf IEEE 802.11 devices provide multiple channels and multiple data rates. In practical multi-channel networks, since there is channel heterogeneity which indicates that channels have different signal characteristics for the same node, channels should be efficiently assigned to improve network capacity. In addition, in multi-rate networks, low-rate links severely degrade the performance of high-rate links on the same channel, which is known as performance anomaly. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a heterogeneity aware channel assignment (HACA) algorithm that improves network performance by reflecting channel heterogeneity and performance anomaly. Through NS-2 simulations, we validate that the HACA algorithm shows improved performance compared with existing channel assignment algorithms that do not reflect channel heterogeneity.
