  • This study aims to analyze the changes in the benthic macroinvertebrate community before and after a restoration project in a eutrophic stream. Species diversity and species richness increased at the points where the channel changed from standing water to running water. However, species diversity and richness decreased at the points where only riparian restoration was implemented, and the concentration of suspended solids increased, while biochemical oxygen demand and total phosphorus decreased and the concentration of dissolved oxygen increased. In such reaches, functional feeding groups went from collector-filterers to collector-gatherers, and habitat orientation groups changed from clingers to burrowers.

  • Good mechanical properties of thin-film transistors on plastic substrates are an essential parameter in the development of robust flexible displays. In this paper, a careful investigation is carried out on TFT backplane on plastic substrates under cyclic bending conditions. Bending modes of tensile and compressive as well as parallel and perpendicular orientation-dependent bending of channel have been analyzed carefully. This analysis will be helpful in knowing the electro-mechanical performance boundaries of the TFT devices so as to determine the bending limitations of our flexible displays.

  • In the current study, a rate-dependent crystal plasticity finite element method (CPFEM) was used to simulate flow stress behavior and texture evolution of a body-centered cubic (BCC) crystalline material during plastic deformation at room temperature. To account for crystallographic slip and rotation, a rate-dependent crystal constitutive law with a hardening model was incorporated into an in-house finite element program, CAMPform3D. Microstructural heterogeneity and anisotropy were handled by assigning a crystallographic orientation to each integration point of the element and determining the stiffness matrix of the individual crystal. Uniaxial tensile tests of single crystals with different crystallographic orientations were simulated to determine the material parameters in the hardening model. The texture evolution during four different deformation modes - uniaxial tension, uniaxial compression, channel die compression, and simple shear deformation - was investigated based on the comparison with experimental data available in the literature.

  • This study aims to develop the concept of innovation models with the marketing channel construct approach, marketing innovation, product segmentation, and customer insight; as well as improvements to the theory of resource-based combined with the method of service-dominant logic. This study approach is based on quantitative descriptive conducted with three stages of testing scenarios. The first test is the mapping of the innovation model construct through testing the validity and reliability with the moderation of customer orientation variables. The second scenario examines the relationship of influence between the independent variables on the dependent variable of 29 hypothetical analysis equation modeling. The unit of analysis was conducted on 497 SMEs involved in the food and beverage sectors, with the criteria being SMEs must have a rating of 4-5 points on the Go-Food applications software. The results shown that: 1) the construct used to develop an innovative model both directly and via moderation is positive and significant; 2) Through a complicated relationship that involves all components of the variable, it outlines a positive and significant effect except for the path of analysis (μ5). The theoretical and managerial implications state that the service-dominant logic approach and resource-based view theory have extreme reliability and interrelations.

  • A new deformation process termed "continuouis confined sup shearing" (CCSS) has been developed for shear deformation of metallic sheets. The tools of CCSS were designed to provide a constant shear deformation of the order of 0.5 per pass while preserving the original sheet shape. In order to clarify the evolution of texture and microstructure during CCSS, strips of the aluminum alloy AA3004 were deformed by CCSS in up to three passes. FEM results indicated that CCSS provides a quite uniform shear deformation at thickness layers close to the strip center, although the deformation is not homogeneous in the die channel, in particular at the surface layers. The rolling texture of the initial sheet decreased during CCSS, and preferred orientations along two fibers developed. However, with an increasing number of CCSS passes the deformation texture did not develop futher. The evolution of annealing textures depended on the number of CCSS passes. A strong {112}<110> component in the deformation texture led to the formation of a strong {111}<112) orientation in the annealing texture. Observations by TEM and EBSD revealed the formation of very fine grains of ∼1.0$\mu\textrm{m}$ after CCSS.

  • In this paper, we propose a second-order fiber flexible comb filter based on a polarization-diversity loop(PDL). The proposed filter consists of a polarization beam splitter, four half-wave plates(HWPs), and three high birefringence fiber(HBF) segments. In the previous Solc-type second-order filter based on the PDL, HBF segments were fusion-spliced with a fixed angle offset between their principal axes with each other. But, the proposed filter implemented by inserting two HWPs between three HBF segments has a great flexibility in adjusting relative angular difference between the principal axes of two adjacent HBF segments. Owing to this flexibility, second-order transmission spectra, which had a channel spacing of ~0.8nm, could be interleaved by controlling the orientation angles of four HWPs. The output transmission spectra of the proposed filter were theoretically analyzed and experimentally verified.

  • In this study, we report on the novel lithographic patterning method to fabricate organic-semiconductor devices based on photo and e-beam lithography with well-known silicon technology. The method is applied to fabricate pentacene-based organic field effect transistors. Owing to their solubility, sub-micron sized patterning of P3HT and PEDOT has been well established via micromolding in capillaries (MIMIC) and inkjet printing techniques. Since the thermally deposited pentacene cannot be dissolved in solvents, other approach was done to fabricate pentacene FETs with a very short channel length (~30nm), or in-plane orientation of pentacene molecules by using nanometer-scale periodic groove patterns as an alignment layer for high-performance pentacene devices. Here, we introduce the atomic layer deposition of $Al_2O_3$ film on pentacene as a passivation layer. $Al_2O_3$ passivation layer on OTFTs has some advantages in preventing the penetration of water and oxygen and obtaining the long-term stability of electrical properties. AZ5214 and ma N-2402 were used as a photo and e-beam resist, respectively. A few micrometer sized lithography patterns were transferred by wet and dry etching processes. Finally, we fabricated sub-micron sized pentacene FETs and measured their electrical characteristics.

  • It has long been speculated that the visual system should use a coding strategy that takes advantage of statistical redundancies in images. But how such a coding strategy should manifest in neural responses has been less clear. Low-level image structure related to the power spectrum of natural images appears to be captured by a hard-wired efficient code in the retina of the fly and precortical structures like the LGN of cats that maximizes information content through the limited capacity channel of the optic nerve. But visual images are typically filled with higher-order structure beyond that captured by the power spectrum and visual cortex is not constrained by the same capacity limits as the optic nerve. Whether and how visual cortex can flexibly code for higher order redundancies is unknown. Here we show using psychophysical techniques that the neural response in early human visual cortex may be modulated by orientation redundancies in images such that a visual feature that is contained within a predictive pattern results in slower reaction times than a feature that deviates from a pattern, suggesting lower neural responses to predictable stimuli in the visual cortex. Our results point to a neural response in early visual cortex that is sensitive to global patterns and redundancies in visual images and is in marked contrast to standard models of cortical visual processing.

  • Purpose: Considering the COVID-19 pandemic and the increasing number of online food delivery applications (OFDA), this study aims to assess the distribution of the presence of Indonesian OFDA and to measure the factors that influence the spending habits of OFDA users. Research design, data and methodology: Two hundred and nine OFDA users from Jakarta's Generation Z were surveyed via a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling and SMART PLS 3.0. Results: OFDAs were introduced into Indonesia in the recent past with varying degrees of popularity determined by the number of downloads. Users' intention to use was not determined by the speed of the introduction of an OFDA. This study also reveals that previous experience of the service, the orientation of time and price savings had a significant effect on spending habits. A moderating role of the saving variable on time and price was not demonstrated. Conclusions: The results of the study suggest that, in COVID-19 pandemic conditions, the spending habits of Generation Z are not based on impulse, thrift, or extravagance. The pandemic shaped specific motivations in spending habits, namely prioritizing need. This study has limitations, including the small sample size and the use of internal variables.

  • This study aims to investigate the overall relationship between the deterring and facilitating factors in export activities of the small and medium export companies. Nine export deterring factors are analyzed by multinational dimensional scaling(MDS) method to identify key dimensions underlying those factors. Perceptual mapping shows that some factors such as brand image, operating capital and e-trade infra are found similar in its degree of difficulties in export activities. Regression analysis shows that government export promotion measures might play an effective export facilitating factors to ease the export deterring factors like market information and manufacturing skill. Whereas difficulties arising from e-trade infra, operating capital, and brand image might be eliminated by internal competency of company, difficulties from distribution channel might be lessened by overseas orientation of chief executive of company.
