  • The most challenging issues in the multi-channel MAC of the IEEE 1609.4 standard is how to handle the dynamic vehicular traffic condition with a high mobility, dynamic topology, and a trajectory change. Therefore, dynamic channel coordination schemes between CCH and SCH are required to provide the proper bandwidth for CCH/SCH intervals and to improve the quality of service (QoS). In this paper, we use a Markov model to optimize the interval based on the dynamic vehicular traffic condition with high mobility nodes in the multi-channel MAC of the IEEE 1609.4 standard. We evaluate the performance of the three-dimensional Markov chain based on the Poisson distribution for the node distribution and velocity. We also evaluate the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) effect for the multi-channel MAC coordination scheme of the IEEE 1609.4 standard. The result of simulation proves that the performance of the dynamic channel coordination scheme is affected by the high node mobility and the AWGN. In this research, we evaluate the model analytically for the average delay on CCHs and SCHs and also the saturated throughput on SCHs.

  • We have observed the short-channel effect, narrow-channel effect and small-geometry effect in terms of a variation of the threshold voltage. For a short-channel effect the threshold voltage was largely determined by the DIBL effect which stimulates more carrier injection in the channel by reducing the potential barrier between the source and channel. The effect becomes more significant for a shorter-channel device. However, the potential, field and current density distributions in the channel along the transverse direction showed a better uniformity for shorter-channel devices under the same voltage conditions. The uniformity of the current density distribution near the drain on the potential minimum point becomes worse with increasing the drain voltage due to the enhanced DIBL effect. This means that considerations for channel-width effect should be given due to the variation of the channel distributions for short-channel devices. For CCDs which are always operated at a pinch-off state the channel uniformity thus becomes significant since they often use a device structure with a channel length of > 4 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and a very high drain (or diffusion) voltage. • In these days of severe changes in the environment and economic slump, it is indispensable for firms to cope with the environment effectively. This study is an attempt to investigate the mechanisms through which output sector munificence and dynamism affect distribution channel performances, such as, satisfaction, trust, and commitment. Especially, this study focus on moderating effects on distribution channel integration that has not been investigated in the past. For the purpose of empirical testing, 70 corporate channels, 120 contractual channels, and 100 conventional marketing channels have been selected and analyzed. According to the result from moderated regression analysis, munificence strengthens distribution channel performances, while dynamism weakens them. And integration reinforces the effects.

  • The main objective of this work is to experimentally investigate the effect of angle variation on the distribution of two-phase flow at header-channel junctions. The cross-sections of the header and the channels were fixed at $16mm{\times}16mm$ and $12mm{\times}1.8mm$, respectively. Air and water were used as the test fluids. Four different header-channel positions were tested : Vertical header with Horizontal channels (case VM-HC), Horizontal header with Horizontal channels (case HM-HC), Horizontal header with Vertical Downward channels (case HM-VDC), and Horizontal header with Vertical Upward channels (case HM-VUC). In all cases, liquid flow distribution tended to decrease gradually in the upstream header region. However, in the downstream region, different trends could be seen. The reason for these different tendencies were identified by flow visualization in each case. The standard deviations for the liquid and gas flow distribution in each case were calculated, and the case of VM-HC had the lowest values compared to other cases because of the symmetrically distributed liquid film and strong flow recirculation near the end plate.

  • Purpose - Distribution channels cannot function without cooperation. While evidence suggests channel power plays a fundamental role in fostering successful manufacturer-dealer channel cooperation in Western countries distribution systems, little is known empirically as to how dealers' possession of non-mediated powers influence SME manufacturers' cooperation in Asian developing countries. Research design, data, methodology - Drawing upon the extant distribution channels literatures; this study conceptualizes a model and examines the effects of dealer's non-mediated powers on manufacturing SME firms, as well as the mediating influence of trust, relationship satisfaction and commitment. A survey of 400 manufacturing SMEs in Taiwan empirically supports the proposed hypothesis. Results - The model is acceptable in terms of overall goodness of fit. Acceptable model fit are indicated by χ2/(df): 2.35, GFI≧.90; RMSEA values≦ .08; IFI, TLI and CFI values≧.90. Our results indicate that, GFI (0.910), IFI (0.937), TLI (0.903), CFI (0.936), and RMSEA (0.079) and therefore, achieved the suggested thresholds. Conclusions - The results of this study have some managerial implications for managers in the dealer's firms. The overall implication from the findings is that managers can utilize expert, referent and traditional legitimate powers to attain channel cooperation with manufacturing SMEs in addition to garnering their trust, relationship satisfaction and commitment.
