The Four Major Rivers Restoration Project was the multi-purpose green growth project on the four major rivers in South Korea. However, the Four Major Rivers Project has attracted significant criticism from various social groups and wider international groups, e.g. Friends of the Earth. This study reviews the four river restoration project from the standpoint of an evolutionary process of water paradigms. It reveals that the project has achieved its intended purpose yet, suggesting to apply some valuable lessons in the consideration of the integrated watershed management system. Finally, it urges to introduce tentatively named "Basic law on Water Management" preceded by enacting ordinances at local level, because it'll help us find out ways ahead for the Integrated Water law.

In 2017, amid changes in the security market such as integrated security (IS) and convergence security (CS), a variety of security paradigms in terms of operation and management have been suggested. Rather than changing existing network infrastructure and bringing about fluid, multi-dimensional changes, these solutions and technologies focus entire security capacity on a primary protection, leading to network infrastructure suffering from unexpected inherent violations and problems in a continued manner. Therefore, it is time to propose and develop a flexible network section that can protect from attacks of similar pattern and concentrated traffic attacks by applying a new concept of WB (Water-Bubble) to network infrastructure and analyzing on the basis of experiment and installation. Methodology of the WB-based highly secure flexible network section proposed in this study is expected to provide materials for studies on how to achieve network section security taking into account three major limitations and security standards: fluidity, unpredictability, and non-area scalability by contact point ratio, by changing a network area predicted to be the final target of attack into resonant network section (area) with flexible area changes.

With the changing of social needs and paradigms, citizens are concerned about aesthetic and cultural community gardens from productive urban farms in Korea. It is still difficult, however, to cultivate a beautiful garden with a community to design, install and manage it. Therefore, this study analyzed the community garden design guidelines of other countries to derive the characteristics and implications. The research method analyzed six guidelines for community garden design in the UK, Canada, the USA, Australia and Japan. As a result of the study, most community garden design guidelines are opened freely via on-line service. The guidelines are composed with chronological processes such as intro, site selection, design, construction and maintenance. The introduction section treats definition, purpose, meaning, efficiency and success factors for community gardens. Site selection emphasizes site conditions (soil, light, shadow, water, etc.), landholding and insurance. The design section, however, lacks adequate drawings and case images. These guidelines offer little explanation with few illustrations and sentences. Construction sections explain about plantings, facilities, expense and details. The maintenance guidelines of community gardens contain how to control members, funding, harvesting, pests and plants. In addition, some guidelines include vandalism, organic cultivation methods, recording and advertisement. Lastly, the appendix contains a variety of checklists, administrative documents, guidelines, drawings, and contacts. This study will help understand the trends and characteristics of overseas community gardens design guidelines so as to also supply directions for guidelines to be introduced in Korea.
