  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the degree of improvement of scoliosis, muscle function and VAS between the exercise group and the control group after conducting correct posture exercise program with 20 female students diagnosed with scoliosis through PAPS in M middle school for 12 weeks. The conclusion was as follows. Cobb's angle in exercise group was changed from $11.6^{\circ}{\ae}2.5^{\circ}\acute{y} $ to $7.3^{\circ}{\ae}2.0^{\circ}\acute{y} $ which was statistically significant difference (p<.001). However, the change in Cobb's angle was not significant in control group, hence there was no statistically significant difference. The limber back strength was changed from $45.9^{\circ}{\ae}8.7$ kg to $51.6^{\circ}{\ae}14.9$ kg and sit-up was changed from $13.7^{\circ}{\ae}5.1$ times to $12.9^{\circ}{\ae}5.3$ times in exercise group, but they were not statistically significant. Control group also showed no statistically significant change in back strength and sit-up. The degree of VAS was changed from $7.3^{\circ}{\ae}1.6$ to $3.3^{\circ}{\ae}2.4$ which was a statistically significant difference (p<.01) in exercise group. However, there was no statistically significant difference in control group. Consequently, correct posture exercise program was considered to be effective for the reduction of Cobb's angle and degree of VAS for middle school female students with scoliosis. Therefore the correct posture exercise program can be recommended for youth scoliosis to improve and prevent the body imbalance and ultimately for the health of the youths.

  • In this study, a total of 32 individual musculoskeletal examinations were performed to prevent sarcopenia through squatting exercises and corrective exercises in the elderly, and then squatting exercises and corrective exercises were performed twice a week for 12 weeks to apply and improve various exercise programs, and the following results were obtained. Body composition was significantly increased in skeletal muscle mass and basal metabolism after 12 weeks compared to before participation in the exercise program, and static postural balance was significantly improved in front shoulder, pelvic balance and deflection, left leg medial and lateral cervical and thoracic spine, and pelvic tilt after 12 weeks. Dynamic postural balance showed that the composite imbalance index, excessive upper body lean, lumbar lordosis or kyphosis, and single knee tilt and drop were all highly significant postural balances after 12 weeks. As shown in this study, the variety and precise analysis of exercise prescriptions for customized exercise programs for the elderly is very important, and it is necessary to pay attention to research on the maintenance and promotion of elderly health through practical applications in the field.

  • The purpose of this study was to estimate correlations of craniocervical posture and craniofacial morphology in Korean young adults. The sample consisted of 50 young adults (25 males and 25 females) who had good profile and Class I molar relationship. The analysis of craniocervical posture and craniofacial morphology was performed on lateral cephalograms taken in natural head position. The results were as follows, 1. The mean and the standard deviation of postural and morphologic variables were obtained. 2. Korean young adult had cervical lordosis of which degree between OPT and CVT shows $3.55{\pm}2.58^{\circ}$ 3. Craniocervical posture and each of vertical ratio, facial prognathism, mandibular rotation showed high correlation. 4. Correlation coefficients between postural variables and each of intermaxillary relation, anteroposterior ratio were low. 5. The head positioning error of natural head position was smaller than the inter-individual variability of postural variables.
