The Development of Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation Medical Devices for The Treatment of Non-implantable Urinary Incontinence (비이식형 요실금 치료용 신경근 전기자극 의료기기 개발)

  • In this paper, the neuromuscular electrical stimulation medical devices for non-implantable incontinence treatment other than vaginal insertion type was developed and commercialized. The structure of medical devices for electrical stimulation based on the anatomy of the pelvic floor muscle designed. Then, the optimum parameters that may be effective in pelvic floor muscle electrical stimulation was set. The circuit system based on the optimum parameters were designed and manufactured. The frequency of the pulse voltage for electrical stimulation is 75[Hz], the pulse width is 300[${\mu}s$], the development of medical devices was to have seven program functions to the various treatments. The circuit system of medical devices was composed of microcontroller, comparator and converter. The performance of the developed circuit system in KTC(Korea Testing Certification) were carried out medical equipment inspection test. Test results, test specifications were satisfied with the medical device, the performance was verified to be commercialized as a medical device. The development of medical devices were validated risk assessment and product performance through a software validation. Commercialization of medical equipment was acquired to enable the certification standards of the international standard IEC 60601-1.

  • The aircraft gas turbine engines with the Electronic Engine Controls(EEC) had been developed to save fuel and enhance their performance in the early days, and had employed the health monitoring function in the Full Authority Digital Engine Controls(FADEC) to improve their reliability. This has led to an increasing demand for the certification technology of these controls. The design and certification issues of power supply, aircraft supplied data, failure modes, software verification/validation, and lightning requirements need to be addressed. This paper presents the design considerations and the certification techniques applied to the electronic engine controls. And it is believed that this paper will be basis to establish a requirement in Korean Airworthiness Standard.

  • The Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) trends to delegate the certificate path processing to the Delegated Path Discovery (DPD) Server and Delegated Path Validation (DPV) server recently. The most critical factor for the selection of the delegated server is to allow the server to be equipped with a high reliability through a low cost, and simple implementation. In this paper, we propose a new certificate path processing scheme employed the trusted CA as the DPD/DPV server by adding the capability of the Validation Authority (VA) to the trusted CA. Since our proposed scheme uses the existing trusted CA as validation server, we can achieve a high trust through a simple implementation for the processing. Besides, we propose an additional scheme for reducing an overhead on the trusted CA. it is obtained by delegating digital signature verification to CAs on the path and by skipping the repeated path processing. As the result, our proposed validation scheme can be performed efficiently with high speed and low computational overhead.

  • 정보보호 핵심 기반 구조인 PKI는 인증서 검증에 따르는 클라이언트의 부담 및 CRL의 적시성 부재와 관리 문제, 또한 각각의 환경에 따라 구축된 PKI 도메인 간의 상호 연동 등 해결해야 할 문제점들이 있다. ETRI/VA는 클라이언트의 인증서 검증을 대신하여 클라이언트의 부담을 줄이고, 인증서의 상태 검증의 적시성 및 OCSP를 사용함으로써 CRL의 문제점을 해결하며, PKI 상호연동을 지원 및 도메인간의 인증서 정책을 중앙집중 관리함으로써 기존 PKI의 문제점들을 제거할 수 있다 본 논문에서는 이러한 ETRI/VA의 각 모듈 및 프로토콜에 대하여 간략히 소개하고 ETRI/VA의 인증서 검증 방법을 설명하였다.

  • This paper presents the case study of the airworthiness certification for the flight control system of tactical UAV. Airworthiness regulations for flight characteristics and design and construction based on the STANAG 4671 are selected, and safety assessment is performed. Stall protection on wing level and turning flight criteria, and flap interconnection system failures were analyzed and applied to the flight control system design. The Hardware-in-the-loop simulation including math model, integrated system verification and validation test and failure mode and effects test were also performed and they are used to validate the means of compliance of the proposed airworthiness.

  • SCMS is a security credential management system for V2X communication, which performs generation/ provision/validation of device's security certificates. In this paper, we will explain about the main functions of SCMS and the role of each institution, and propose the following improvement measures in the process of establishing the Korean V2X security certification system. First, connection scheme of ERA (Enrollment certificate RA) between SCMS and Vehicle Manager Information System (VIMS) will be proposed. Second part is the problem of certificate revocation and proposal of improvements.

  • For operating military aircraft, military certificate of airworthiness (MCA) must be obtained from military authority. Among procedures of general airworthiness certification, there is a military type certification process that aircraft design complies with military airworthiness certification criteria. The Surion is the first military rotorcraft which has obtained military type certificate, production validation and airworthiness certificate in Korea, and the Surion derivatives for special mission are being operated for government services. Based on Aviation Safety Act, in order to operate the Surion derivatives (military aircraft) for special purpose (such as emergency patient transportation and firefighting), the issuance of special airworthiness certificates was needed from civil airworthiness authority, and the restricted category type certification (RTC) is one of design approvals for special airworthiness certification to be streamlined. This study discussed the procedures for acquiring RTC for special purpose operation of the Surion derivatives classified as military derived aircraft, and suggested procedural ideas to improve Korean RTC system.

A kernel machine for estimation of mean and volatility functions

  • We propose a doubly penalized kernel machine (DPKM) which uses heteroscedastic location-scale model as basic model and estimates both mean and volatility functions simultaneously by kernel machines. We also present the model selection method which employs the generalized approximate cross validation techniques for choosing the hyperparameters which affect the performance of DPKM. Artificial examples are provided to indicate the usefulness of DPKM for the mean and volatility functions estimation.

Variance function estimation with LS-SVM for replicated data

  • In this paper we propose a variance function estimation method for replicated data based on averages of squared residuals obtained from estimated mean function by the least squares support vector machine. Newton-Raphson method is used to obtain associated parameter vector for the variance function estimation. Furthermore, the cross validation functions are introduced to select the hyper-parameters which affect the performance of the proposed estimation method. Experimental results are then presented which illustrate the performance of the proposed procedure.

  • This paper shows the kernel Poisson regression which can be applied in the claims reserving, where the row effect is assumed to be a nonlinear function of the row index. The paper concentrates on the chain-ladder technique, within the framework of the chain-ladder linear model. It is shown that the proposed method can provide better reserve estimates than the Poisson model. The cross validation function is introduced to choose optimal hyper-parameters in the procedure. Experimental results are then presented which indicate the performance of the proposed model.
