폴리피롤로 개질된 SPE 전극촉매의 제조 및 PEMFC로의 응용 (Preparations of SPE Electrocatalysts Modified with Polypyrrole and Its Application for PEMFC)

  • 본 연구에서는 폴리피롤로 개질된 Nafion 막에 직접적으로 백금촉매를 담지하는 방법을 제시하고 PEMFC로의 응용을 검토하였다. 개시제로 $FeCl_3$$Na_2S_2O_8$을 사용하여 피롤을 Nafion 막에 중합하였다. 제저된 PPy/Nafion 복합체 막의 양이온 전도도와 함수율을 측정한 결과, $Na_2S_2O_8$을 사용하여 제조된 복합체 막은 피롤 중합시간이 증가할수록 양이온 전도도와 함수율은 감소하였고, $FeCl_3$의 경우 함수율은 감소하지만 양이온 전도도는 유지되었다. 폴리피롤로 개질된 Nafion 막에 백금 촉매를 화학적 환원법에 의해 함침한 결과, 폴리피롤의 전자 전도성 특성에 의해 백금 담지가 향상됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한 Pt/PPy/Nafion 전극촉매와 확산 전극으로 구성된 MEA를 단위 연료전지 성능평가를 행한 결과, 0.3 V의 전위에서 $569mA/cm^2$의 전류밀도 값을 갖는 연료전지 성능을 얻을 수 있었다.

바닥판조립식 단순보교량의 합성거동에 관한 연구 (The Composite Behaviors of Fabricated Concrete Deck Simple Bridges)

  • 본 연구는 거더 상면에 연장 형성된 수직돌출부의 양측에 상부 플랜지를 가지는 주형과 바닥 면에 모서리보다 형성되어 있는 바닥 판이 현장에서 그라우팅에 의한 전단 키로 연결되어 교량구조물을 형성하는 새로운 형태의 바닥 판 조립식 교량구조를 제안하고 그에 따른 정적실험 및 유한요소해석을 통해 구조거동을 분석하여 실제 적용가능성을 입증하는데 목적이 있다. 먼저 주형과 바닥 판의 연결부에서 발생하는 구조적 평형조건을 입증하기 위해 주형과 바닥 판의 연결부에 스프링 효과를 이용한 유한요소해석을 통해 바닥 판에서 발생하는 부재 력을 해석하였다. 이때 바닥 판에 가장 불리하게 작용하는 하중위치를 관찰하였으며 이를 실제 정적실험 모델과 동일한 유한요소해석결과와 실험결과의 비교로부터 바닥 판 조립식교량은 설계하중 하에서 충분한 저항내력을 확보하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 정적실험에서의 내·외측 주형의 처짐과 유한요소해석결과를 비교한 결과로부터 실험에 의한 처짐이 유한요소해석결과보다 작게 나타났으며 이러한 결과로부터 바닥 판 조립식교량의 실제 강성은 충분한 것으로 증명되었다. 또한 바닥 판 조립식교량에서 주형사이에 가로 보의 설치 갯수에 따른 하중 횡 분배효과 및 바닥 판이 합성된 후의 합성효과 등을 관찰하기 위한 유한 요소해석을 수행하였다. 하중 횡 분배효과는 편심 하중 재하 시에 가로 보의 개수가 3개로 증가하였을 때 가장 현저하게 나타났으며 합성단면에서의 하중 횡 분배는 바닥 판 연결에 의한 합성효과로 인해 비 합성 단면에서의 하중 횡 분배의 약1/2의 크기로써 효과적인 합성효과가 발생하는 것으로 나타났다.

가중 다목적성을 고려한 구조물 응답 제어용 TMD의 RSM 기반 실용적 최적 설계 (RSM-based Practical Optimum Design of TMD for Control of Structural Response Considering Weighted Multiple Objectives)

  • 본 연구는 전산실험을 통해 중규모 건물에 설치한 수동형 TMD의 매개변수에 대한 가중 다목적 최적화 설계를 다루고 있다. MATLAB으로 수치 시뮬레이션 코드를 작성함으로써 지진하중에 대한 동적응답을 파악하였으며 중심합성계획법과 반응표면법으로 구성한 전산실험을 기반으로 하는 가중 다목적 최적화 기법을 적용하여 TMD의 최적 동조 매개변수를 찾고자 하였다. 본 연구에서는 10층 건물을 대상으로 El Centro를 벤치마크 지진으로 가진하여 반응모델을 생성하고, AHP를 이용하여 반응변수 사이의 상대적 중요도를 산출한 후 가중다목적최적화 설계를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 방법으로 최적화된 매개변수를 가진 TMD는 지진 응답을 효과적으로 저감하였다. El Centro 지진이 작용하는 경우 RSM 기반 가중 다목적 최적설계방법으로 최적화한 TMD의 진동수 응답과 최상층 평균제곱변위는 비제진시보다 각각 31.6%와 82.3% 향상되었고, 모든 적용 지진에서 기존 설계법보다 동등 또는 이상의 성능을 가진 것으로 확인되었다.

반응표면법을 이용한 DTF의 석탄 연소 안전성 평가 (Assessment of Coal Combustion Safety of DTF using Response Surface Method)

  • The experimental design methodology was applied in the drop tube furnace (DTF) to predict the various combustion properties according to the operating conditions and to assess the coal plant safety. Response surface method (RSM) was introduced as a design of experiment, and the database for RSM was set with the numerical simulation of DTF. The dependent variables such as burnout ratios (BOR) of coal and $CO/CO_2$ ratios were mathematically described as a function of three independent variables (coal particle size, carrier gas flow rate, wall temperature) being modeled by the use of the central composite design (CCD), and evaluated using a second-order polynomial multiple regression model. The prediction of BOR showed a high coefficient of determination (R2) value, thus ensuring a satisfactory adjustment of the second-order polynomial multiple regression model with the simulation data. However, $CO/CO_2$ ratio had a big difference between calculated values and predicted values using conventional RSM, which might be mainly due to the dependent variable increses or decrease very steeply, and hence the second order polynomial cannot follow the rates. To relax the increasing rate of dependent variable, $CO/CO_2$ ratio was taken as common logarithms and worked again with RSM. The application of logarithms in the transformation of dependent variables showed that the accuracy was highly enhanced and predicted the simulation data well.

입지 경쟁력과 공간상호작용 모형의 유의성 검정 (A Study on the Significance of Spatial Interaction Model from the Urban Competitive Point of View)

  • This study aims at finding relationships between the competitiveness of cities and the size or distance of them, based on some premises; (1) the competitiveness can be measured on the interval-ratio level, that is, factor scores, (2) a hypothesis that the spatial interaction model is valid for the relationships can be generally accepted. Based on the general recognition a research hypothesis that the more is the population or the nearer is the distance from a central city the higher is the competitiveness score is constructed. According to the premises 5-factor scores and composite score are calculated by means of regression method, and the scores are regressed on cities' populations and distances from Seoul city. Using bootstrapping method for the tests of significance is effective due to small sample of 21 cities. Results of the analyses show that most aspects of the hypothesis should be rejected or adjusted. Scores on Health-welfare factor, public service factor, and commercial vitality factor have no relation to the cities' sizes or distances. But the results also find the facts that the strong (negative) relationships exist between (1) educational base factor score and population, (2) density factor score and distance. Although this study improves systematic and analytic understanding of spatial interaction patterns, the understanding should be invalid for the general context because it has used the data on 21 cities in the capital region at the time of 2009.

의료용 베드 헤드 콘솔의 강도조건을 고려한 최적 설계 (Optimal Design of Medical Bed Head Consol Considering the Strength Condition)

  • Medical bed head consoles (BHC) are generally used to increase the efficiency of medical equipment and speed the medical treatment response time. The BHC design has been consistently improved including a movable shelf unit that is embedded to mount stably medical instruments on the lower part of the main console. The cost of a BHC can be reduced through design optimization to limit the overall weight. However, as the size of a head console might decrease due to design optimization, the BHC deflection could be increased. In this study, multi-objective optimal design was adopted to consider this BHC design problem. In order to reduce the cost of optimization planning, an approximate model was applied for the design optimization. In the context of approximate optimization, we used the response surface method and non-dominant sorting genetic algorithm developed from various fields. Multi-objective optimal solutions were also compared with a single objective optimal design.

An Environmentally Friendly and Efficient Method for Extraction of PHB Biopolymer with Non-Halogenated Solvents

  • The present study developed an efficient and environmentally friendly method for recovering polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) from Cupriavidus necator. Several non-halogenated solvents were tested and it was found that butyl acetate and ethyl acetate are powerful solvents for the biopolymer. Testing was performed to examine the effects of temperature (25℃ until temperature below solvent boiling points) and heating incubation time (0-60 min) on the two solvents. Butyl acetate had a higher recovery level (96%) and product purity (up to 99%) than ethyl acetate at 103℃ and a heating incubation time of 30 min. Under these conditions, PHB recorded the highest molecular weight of 1.4 × 106 compared with the standard procedure (i.e., recovery using chloroform). The proposed strategy showed that butyl acetate is a good alternative to halogenated solvents such as chloroform for recovery of PHB.

  • Like composite material. the coil winding pack of the KSTAR (Korea Superconducting Tokamak Advanced Research) consist of multiphase element such as metallic jacket material for protecting superconducting cable, vacuum pressurized imprepregnated (VPI) insulation, and corner roving filler. For jacket material, four CS (Central Solenoid) Coils, $5^{th}$ PF (Poloidal Field) Coil, and TF (Toroidal Field Coil) use Incoloy 908 and $6-7^{th}$ PF coil, Cold worked 316LN. In order to analyze the global behavior of large coil support structure with coil winding pack, it is required to replace the winding pack to monolithic matter with the equivalent mechanical properties, i.e. Young's moduli, shear moduli due to constraint of total nodes number and element numbers. In this study, Equivalent Young's moduli, shear moduli, Poisson's ratio, and thermal expansion coefficient were calculated for all coil winding pack using Finite Element Method.

실험계획법을 이용한 주축 형상 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on Spindle Shape Design using Design of Experiments)

  • Spindle units of machine tool are very important part in the manufacturing area. Recently high speed machining has become the main issue of metal cutting. To develop high speed machine tools, a lot of studies have been carried out for high speed spindle. Due to increase of the rotational speed of the spindle, there has been renewal of interest in vibration of spindle. This paper concerns the improvement of spindle design using design of experiments. To improve the design of critical speed and weight of spindle, the experiments using central composite method have been carried out. The targets are critical speed and weight of spindle. For optimization of critical speed and weight and optimization of only critical speed by operation of all area search through response optimizer, the result of analysis has improved design of each factor. Finite element analyses are performed by using the commercial codes ARMD, CATIA V5 and ANSYS workbench. From the results, it has been shown that the proposed method is effective for modification of spindle design to improve critical speed and weight.

Simplified robustness assessment of steel framed structures under fire-induced column failure

  • This paper proposes a Global-Local Analysis Method (GLAM) to assess the progressive collapse of steel framed structures under fire-induced column failure. GLAM obtains the overall structural response by combining dynamic analysis of the heated column (local) with static analysis of the overall structure (global). Test results of two steel frames which explicitly consider the dynamic effect during fire-induced column failure were employed to validate the proposed GLAM. Results show that GLAM gives reasonable predictions to the test frames in terms of both whether to collapse and the displacement verse temperature curves. Besides, several case studies of a two-dimensional (2D) steel frame and a three-dimensional (3D) steel frame with concrete slabs were conducted by using GLAM. Results show that GLAM gives the same collapse predictions to the studied cases with nonlinear dynamic analysis of the whole structure model. Compared with nonlinear dynamic analysis of the whole structure model, GLAM saves approximately 70% and 99% CPU time for the cases of 2D and 3D steel frame, respectively. Results also show that the load level of a structure has notable effects on the restraint condition of a heated column in the structure.
