시민과 함께 하는 기록화 사업 :파주중앙도서관 사례 (Collaborative Archiving Project with Citizens: A Case Study on the Paju Central Library)

  • 파주중앙도서관은 2017년부터 '시민채록단'을 구성하여 파주에서 오랫동안 살아온 사람들의 생애를 구술 채록하는 '휴먼 in Paju'를 실시하였다. 이 성과를 토대로 전국 최초로 도서관에 '기록관리팀'을 신설하였고 이후 조례를 제정하고 민·관으로 구성된 위원회를 구성하면서, 기록화 사업의 지속적 조건을 갖추었다. 또한, 모든 단계에서 공론화와 협업을 중시하여 파주시 전체에 기록화 사업의 중요성을 알리고, 시민 스스로 기록화 사업의 주체로 성장할 수 있도록 지원하는 체계를 만들었다. 이 같은 기초자치단체 도서관의 사례를 소개하고자 한다.

지속가능한 건축의 계보들 (An Interpretation of the Perspectives of Sustainable Architecture)

  • This paper reviews the relationships between diverse ecological design strategies and competing conceptions of ecological approach in place making. It focuses conceptual trends of what we categorize a building "green" and outlines a social constructive perspective on the development of sustainable architecture. This study classifies seven logics of ecological design-eco-technical, eco-aesthetical, eco-social, eco-medical, eco-renewable, eco-cultural, eco-central - which have their roots in competing philosophies of environmentalism. In my analysis of the logics concerning sustainable architecture, the adapted and incorporated technology from high-tech to low-tech levels is a key issue. These points lead us to propose a way that each logic configures the technological approaches and alternative visions of sustainable places. This paper discusses the implications of the competent nature of plural ecological design perspectives for architectural education, practice, and researches.

지방자치의 활성화를 통한 수질보전정책연구: 낙동강 수계오염과 위천공단 조성에 관한 갈등해결의 모색 (A Policy Study to Preserve the Water Quality through the Activation of Local Autonomy)

  • This research emphasizes the necessity of the understanding and cooperation among focal governments to preserve the water quality of the Nak-dong river that runs through four local governments. First, this research considers the status of water-pollution in the Nakdong river, describes and finds problems within the central government's. "Clean Water Supply Plan" and local governments' water quality-related policies. Second, it deals with the conflict among local governments concerning the planning and building of "Wicheon Industrial Complex" in the middle-upstream of the Nakdong river which has triggered the opposition movement of the local governments and residents of the river's downstream area. With stressing the necessity of the understanding and cooperation among local governments, this research emphasizes roles of central government, of academic experts, and of local news-media in preserving the water quality. Key words : the Nakdong river, water quality policy, the conflict among local governments, the activation of local autonomy, Wicheon Industrial Complex, the cooperation among local governments.

Colossal Buddha Statues along the Silk Road

  • Beginning in the northwestern region of India, and spreading through Central Asia and the rest of Asia along the Silk Road, the making of colossal Buddha statues has been a major theme in Buddhist art. The colossal Buddha statues predominantly feature Śākyamuni (the Historical Buddha), Maitreya (the Future Buddha), and Vairocana (the Transcendant Buddha), and they were fashioned out of religious devotion and frequently in conjunction with notions of Buddhist kingship. This paper examines the religious, social and political circumstances under which these colossal statues were made, focusing on examples from Central and East Asia made during the first millennium CE. Beginning in the 1990s, there was a revival of making colossal Buddha statues across China and elsewhere. The paper also briefly compares the current wave of building colossal Buddha statues with historical examples.

Optimization of Heat Exchanger Network in the Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage Process Integration

  • The Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) process is an enhanced method to extract oil from bitumen which involves surface and central process facilities. This paper describes the Central Process Facilities (CPF) of SAGD and proposes several retrofit plans to the Heat Exchanger Network (HEN). In this approach, the process integration scheme is applied to estimate the energy saving in HENs, and various cases are modeled in favor of a commercial simulator. Throughout this work, a minimum approach temperature of 10℃ is assumed. The results reveal that, due to the HEN optimization using process integration, the heating and cooling duties can be reduced to 29.68MW and 1.886MW, respectively. Compared with the Husky case, all cases considered in this study indicate a potential reduction of at least 6% in total cost, including investment and operation costs.

Increasing Salesperson Performance through Relational Penetration Capability: The Implementation of Insurance Service Company Distribution

  • Purpose: This research aims to analyze the influence of relational penetration capability on salesperson performance and the influence of customer orientation, customer knowledge accessibility, and salesperson-customer relationship quality on the relational penetration capability of the insurance service industry in Central Java. Research design, data, and methodology: This explanatory research involved 211 respondents. Path analysis was used to analyze the primary data obtained. Results: The customer orientation positively influences relational penetration capability and customer knowledge accessibility which can improve salesperson performance. The salesperson-customer relationship quality shows a positive impact on the salesperson's relational penetration capability, salesperson performance, and relational penetration capability which will lead to an improved salesperson-customer relationship. Higher knowledge levels of customer necessity have important implications for a salesperson's capability of finding potential customers and of fulfilling customers' requirements through careful analysis of necessity. Conclusions: The salespeople should be capable of building and maintaining a good relationship with their customers as an indication that salespeople of Insurance Service Company Distribution in Central Java have good performance.

Embryonal Neuromesodermal Progenitors for Caudal Central Nervous System and Tissue Development

  • Neuromesodermal progenitors (NMPs) constitute a bipotent cell population that generates a wide variety of trunk cell and tissue types during embryonic development. Derivatives of NMPs include both mesodermal lineage cells such as muscles and vertebral bones, and neural lineage cells such as neural crests and central nervous system neurons. Such diverse lineage potential combined with a limited capacity for self-renewal, which persists during axial elongation, demonstrates that NMPs are a major source of trunk tissues. This review describes the identification and characterization of NMPs across multiple species. We also discuss key cellular and molecular steps for generating neural and mesodermal cells for building up the elongating trunk tissue.

A revised Hermite peak factor model for non-Gaussian wind pressures on high-rise buildings and comparison of methods

  • To better estimate the non-Gaussian extreme wind pressures for high-rise buildings, a data-driven revised Hermitetype peak factor estimation model is proposed in this papar. Subsequently, a comparative study on three types of methods, such as Hermite-type models, short-time estimate Gumbel method (STE), and new translated-peak-process method (TPP) is carried out. The investigations show that the proposed Hermite-type peak factor has better accuracy and applicability than the other Hermite-type models, and its absolute accuracy is slightly inferior to the STE and new TPP methods for non-Gaussian wind pressures by comparing with the observed values. Moreover, these methods generally overestimate the Gaussian wind pressures especially the STE.

ZEB 인증제 고도화를 위한 기존 건축물 부하별 연관성 연구 (A study on the relationship between the existing building load for the advance ZEB certification system)

  • 제로에너지 건축물 인증제도 시행에 따라 민간부문 활성화 및 보급 확대를 위한 제도의 지속적인 고도화가 이루어지고 있으며, 정부는 공공부문을 시작으로 민간부문에 확대 될 때까지 단계별 의무화 로드맵을 설정하였다. 이에 따라 제로에너지빌딩 인증제의 기반이 되는 건물에너지효율인증 기준에 따른 2016~2017년 기존 건축물들의 에너지소요량을 분석하여 주요 인자 변화에 따른 부하별 연관성에 대해 분석하였다. 기존 건축물중 아파트, 오피스텔 등 주거용을 제외한 중부 및 남부지역 714개 건물을 분류하여 1차 에너지소요량을 분석하였다. 새로운 설계기법들이 적용됨에 따라 패시브측면에서의 에너지요구량은 지속적으로 감소하고 있으며, 신재생에너지 보급 활성화와 연계되어 제로에너지빌딩 시범사업 또한 지속적으로 이루어지고 있는 실정에 제로에너지빌딩 인증 기준을 고도화하기 위해 다양한 방법들을 적용하여 해석할 필요성이 있다고 판단된다.

부산시 최저고도지구 실태 및 기준조정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Present Condition and Adjustment of the Minmium Height Regulation District in Busan Metropolitan City)

  • 본 연구는 부산시의 최저고도지구의 적정성을 평가하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 도심부의 최저고도지구에 대한 실태조사를 실시하였다. 조사결과, 도심부의 최저고도지구는 4층(12m)이상 건축해야 함에도 불구하고 4층 이하 건축물이 51%를 차지하였고, 평균층수도 4층이었다. 도심부의 건축물은 토지이용의 고도화와 가로경관을 위해 정책적으로 관리되고 강화되어야 할 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 전문가 설문조사 결과 등을 토대로 전면도로폭원(35m)과 이면도로폭원(8m)의 평균을 최저도고도지구의 최저기준높이로 설정하고, 도심부에 대해서는 토지의 고도이용을 위해 최저고도지구 기준을 7층(21m) 이상 상향시킬 필요가 있다는 제안을 하였다.
