입자 유동 해석(PFC)을 통한 근접터널의 거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Behavior of a Closely-spaced Tunnel by Using Particle Flow Code)

  • In general, it is considered that a pillar between closely-spaced tunnel is sensitive for stress concentration. Stability of a pillar is key factor for excavation of closely-spaced tunnel. In this paper, the study is focused on tracing the behaviors, displacement and plotting damages around tunnels that is modelled with Particle Flow Code, $PFC^{2D}$. Parametric study was performed with changing distance between center of tunnels and coefficient of earth pressure(K). Scaled-model tests were also carried out to validate a numerical analysis model. It was found that $PFC^{2D}$ could show dynamic visualized result in quite good agreement with the experimental test.

60TRIP강을 적용한 차체의 측면충돌 해석 (Side Impact Analysis of an Auto-body with 60TRIP Steel for Side Members)

  • The side impact behavior has been investigated when the high strength steel 60TRIP(Transformation Induced Plasticity) is replaced for the conventional low-carbon steel for weight reduction of an auto-body. The side impact analysis was carried out as specified in US-SINCAP with the center pillar and the side sill of the conventional steel or 60TRIP. For accurate impact analyses, the dynamic material properties are adopted with the Johnson-Cook model. The analysis results demonstrate that the penetration of the side members is remarkably reduced when 60TRIP is employed for the center pillar and the side sill replacing the conventional steel. The crashworthiness in the side impact is considerably improved with less penetration of the side members and less acceleration of the opposite floor.

  • Changes in the accuracy of the geometrical shape after a surface treatment are often very large due to the variation of the deformation mechanisms such as edge draw-in and the variation in springback caused by the reduction in the coefficient of friction between the tool and the blank. In the present study, the resulting shape accuracy due to the changes in deformation is quantitatively examined in order to predict the variation and to remove any undesirable additional tool compensation for the center pillar member made from steel with a UTS of 980MPa. The study examines important process parameters that are closely related with the edge draw-in such as the blank holding force, the contact status between the tool and the blank and the friction coefficient. The proposed method is applied within the finite element analysis of the stamping process for tools after a surface treatment and the amount of edge draw-in and flush values are compared between the analysis and experiments. The results demonstrate that the proposed quantification and finite element scheme are applicable to complicated tool compensation procedures and compensation can be designed effectively.

격자형 지하공간에서 굴착 공정과 지보재를 고려한 굴착 단계별 구조 안정성 해석 연구 (Study on Structural Stability Analysis of Excavation Stage Considering Excavation Process and Supporting Materials in Room-and-Pillar Underground Space)

  • 주방식 공법(room-and-pillar method) 또는 격자형 지하공간은 굴착부를 일정한 간격으로 직교하도록 굴착하여 자연 암반을 구조체로 활용하여 공간을 형성해 나가는 공법을 말한다. 이러한 굴착은 굴착 방향과 순서에 따라 최대 변위가 발생하는 굴착 단계와 크기가 다르게 나타날 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 격자형 굴착공정의 최적 설계를 위하여 숏크리트 및 록볼트 등 지보재가 설치되는 것을 고려하여 특정 지반조건에서의 격자형 지하공간 설계 및 시공 시 안정성과 시공성을 해석적으로 검토하였다. 해석적 방법을 사용하여 지반조건을 설정하고 일정 상재하중 하에서 굴착단계와 시공 종류별로 암주 응력과 천단 변위를 확인하였다. 공간의 높이는 8m로 일반 사무실 크기보다 높게 설정하여 장비나 플랜트 시설을 감안하여 검토되었다. 또한, 숏크리트와 록볼트를 고려하여 지보재 설치에 따른 변위 제어의 정도를 검토하였다.

경량화를 위한 RBFr 메타모델 기반 A-필러와 패키지 트레이의 소재 선정 최적화 (Material Selection Optimization of A-Pillar and Package Tray Using RBFr Metamodel for Minimizing Weight)

  • In this study, we propose the method of optimally selecting material of front pillar (A-pillar) and package tray for minimizing weight while satisfying vehicle requirements on static stiffness and dynamic stiffness. First, we formulate a material selection optimization problem. Next, we establish the CAE procedure of evaluating static stiffness and dynamic stiffness. Then, to enhance the efficiency of design work, we integrate and automate the established CAE procedure using a commercial process integration and design optimization (PIDO) tool, PIAnO. For effective optimization, we adopt the approach of metamodel based approximate optimization. As a sampling method, an orthogonal array (OA) is used for selecting sampling points. The response values are evaluated at the sampling points and then these response values are used to generate a metamodel of each response using the radial basis function regression (RBFr). Using the RBFr models, optimization is carried out an evolutionary algorithm that can handle discrete design variables. Material optimization result reveals that the weight is reduced by 49.8% while satisfying all the design constraints.

Development and application of Smart Water Cities global standards and certification schemes based on Key Performance Indicators

  • Smart water cities (SWC) are urban municipalities that utilizes modern innovations in managing and preserving the urban water cycle in the city; with the purpose of securing sustainability and improving the quality of life of the urban population. Understanding the different urban water characteristics and management strategies of cities situate a baseline in the development of evaluation scheme in determining whether the city is smart and sustainable. This research herein aims to develop measurements and evaluation for SWC Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and set up a unified global standard and certification scheme. The assessment for SWC is performed in technical, as well as governance and prospective aspects. KPI measurements under Technical Pillar assess the cities' use of technologies in providing sufficient water supply, monitoring water quality, strengthening disaster resilience, minimizing hazard vulnerability, and maintaining and protecting the urban water ecosystem. Governance and Prospective Pillar on the other hand, evaluates the social, economic and administrative systems set in place to manage the water resources, delivering water services to different levels of society. The performance assessment is composed of a variety of procedures performed in a quantitative and qualitative manner, such as computations through established equations, interviews with authorities in charge, field survey inspections, etc. The developed SWC KPI measurements are used to evaluate the urban water management practices for Busan Eco Delta city, a Semulmeori waterfront area in Gangseo district, Busan. The evaluation and scoring process was presented and established, serving as the basis for the application of the smart water city certification all over the world. The established guideline will be used to analyze future cities, providing integrated and comprehensive information on the status of their urban water cycle, gathering new techniques and proposing solutions for smarter measures.

레이저 TWB된 이종접합강의 기계적 특성 (Mechanical Properties of Laser-Welded Multi-Material Tailor-Welded Blanks)

  • 본 연구에서는 승객의 안전성을 확보하기 위하여 상부 고강도강 SABC1470, 하부 냉간 압연강 SPFH590과 SPFC980으로 경량화를 위하여 레이저 TWB 용접하였다. TWB 이종재료 시험편은 열처리에 의하여 SABC1470 재료에 고강도화 하였다. 수냉까지 대기 시간에 따르는 인장강도와 센터필라와 같은 부정 조건에 의한 고속 굽힘의 변형 거동을 평가하였다. 동일 온도에서 열처리 된 TWB 시험편은 수냉까지 대기 시간에 따라서 인장강도와 굽힘강도가 감소하였다. $850^{\circ}C$에서 열처리한 SABC1470 + SPFH590 TWB 시험편은 추돌에 의해 차체 파손시 파괴거동을 유도하여 승객을 보호할 수 있는 적절한 조건이었다. 사고에 의한 승객의 안전을 고려하면, 센터필라는 상부재로서 SABC1470, 하부재료로 SPFH590을 사용하는 것이 안전하다.

프런트 필라 트림의 내열특성 향상을 위한 순차적 실험계획법과 인공신경망 기반의 최적설계 (Optimum Design based on Sequential Design of Experiments and Artificial Neural Network for Heat Resistant Characteristics Enhancement in Front Pillar Trim)

  • Optimal mount position of a front pillar trim considering heat resistant characteristics can be determined by two methods. One is conventional approximate optimization method which uses the statistical design of experiments (DOE) and response surface method (RSM). Generally, approximated optimum results are obtained through the iterative process by a trial and error. The quality of results depends seriously on the factors and levels assigned by a designer. The other is a methodology derived from previous work by the authors, which is called sequential design of experiments (SDOE), to reduce a trial and error procedure and to find an appropriate condition for using artificial neural network (ANN) systematically. An appropriate condition is determined from the iterative process based on the analysis of means. With this new technique and ANN, it is possible to find an optimum design accurately and efficiently.
