In this paper, the performance of air pollution reduction by coating the photocatalyst solution on the mortar surface was analyzed to ensure the possibility of applying the photocatalyst to structures with a large specific surface area. The photocatalytic concentrations of the coating solution were set to 1.5 % and 3.0 %, and the types of binders were considered as experimental variables, such as ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC), ordinary portland cement (OPC), and blast furnace slag. As the photocatalyst concentration increases, the air pollution reduction performance increases. In addition, as a result of the air pollution reduction performance, the NOx concentration reduction rate was the highest for UHPC, and the air pollution reduction performance increased as the blast furnace slag was replaced. Therefore, the amount of TiO2 remaining on the surface varies depending on the density of the tissue due to the difference in particles caused by the difference in the amount of TiO2 remaining on the surface.

The aim of the study was to establish the influence of particle size, chemical and phase composition of fine microspherical high-calcium fly ash (HCFA), as well as superplasticizer content on the strength of cementless composite materials based on 100% HCFA and mixtures of HCFA with Portland cement (PC). For the initial HCFA fractions, the particle size distribution, chemical and quantitative phase composition were determined. The compressive strength of cured composite materials obtained at W/B 0.4 and 0.25 was determined at a curing time of 3-300 days. For cementless materials, it was found that a change in the particle size d90 from 30 ㎛ (fraction 3) to 10 ㎛ (fraction 4) leads to an increase in compressive strength by more than 2 times. Compressive strength increases by at least another 2.2 times with the addition of Melflux 5581F superplasticizer (0.12%) and at W/B 0.25. The HCFA-PC blends were investigated in the range of 60-90% HCFA and the maximum compressive strength was found at 80% HCFA. On the basis of 80% HCFA-20% PC blend, the samples of ultra-high strength (108 and 150 MPa at 28 and 100 days of hardening) were obtained with the addition of 0.3% Melflux 5581F and 5% silica fume. The quantitative phase composition was determined for composite materials with a curing age of 28 days. It has been established that in a sample with ultra-high strength, a more complete transformation of the initial phases of both HCFA and PC occurs as compared to their transformation separately.

To study the effect of foaming agent on the production and property of light weight concrete, the tests of compressive, tensile, bending strengths and absorption rates of mortar were done under the different mixing ratio with J, A and D foaming agents. The results obtained were summarized as follows : 1. The strengths were decreased in richer mixing ratio and more addition of foaming agent. The decrease of strengths was the greatest at the level of 0.75% of foaming agent. The decreasing rate of strengths was in order of J, A and D foaming agent. 2. At the mixing ratio of 1:1, ${\sigma}_{28}$ and 0.75% of foaming agent, the compressive strength was decreased up to 34.9% by D, 47.8% by A and 86.8% by J foaming agent, respectively, the tensile strength was decreased up to 14.8% by D, 20.2% by A and 77.9% by J foaming agent, respectively, bending strength was decreased up to 19.9% by D, 35.0% by A and 79.1% by J foaming agent, respectively. The decrease of compressive strength was more severe than that of tensile and bending strengths. 3. The absorption rates were increased in poorer mixing ratio and more addition of foaming agent. The absorption rate was significantly higher at the early stage of immersed water. The absorption rate was in order of J, A and D foaming agent. 4. The decrease of strengths was inevitable in cement-mortar with foaming agent, but the cement mortar with foaming agent has such the properties of the light-weight, lnsulation, Keeping-warmth, sound proof and fire-proof that if could be utilized to the constructions which need low strengths.

This study predicted the probability of corrosion initiation of reinforced concrete tunnel boxes structures using the Monte Carlo Simulation. For the inner wall and outer wall in the tunnel boxes, exposed to airborne chloride ion and seawater directly respectively, statistical values of parameters like diffusion coefficient D, surface chloride content $C_s$, cover depth c, and the chloride threshold level $C_{lim}$ were examined from experiment or literature review. Their average values accounted for $3.77{\times}10^{-12}m^2/s$, 3.0% by weight of cement, 94.7mm and 45.5mm for outer wall and inner wall, respectively, and 0.69% by weight of cement for D, $C_s$, c, and $C_{lim}$, respectively. With these parametric values, the distribution of chloride contents at rebar with time and the probability of corrosion initiation of the tunnel boxes, inner wall and outer wall, was examined by considering time dependency of chloride transport. From the examination, the histogram of chloride contents at rebar is closer to a gamma distribution, and the mean value increases with time, while the coefficient of variance decreases with time. It was found that the probability of corrosion initiation and the time to corrosion were dependent on the time dependency of chloride transport. Time independent model predicted time to corrosion initiation of inner wall and outer wall as 8 and 12 years, respectively, while 178 and 283 years of time to corrosion was calculated by time dependent model for inner wall and outer wall, respectively. For time independent model, the probability of corrosion at 100 years of exposure for inner wall and outer wall was ranged 59.5 and 95.5%, respectively, while time dependent model indicated 2.9 and 0.2% of the probability corrosion, respectively. Finally, impact of $C_{lim}$, including values specified in current codes, on the probability of corrosion initiation and corrosion free life is discussed.

State assessment of an operational tunnel is usually done by performing visual inspection and durability tests by following the detailed guideline for safety inspection (SI) and/ or precision inspection for safety and diagnosis (PISD). In this study, 12 NATM tunnels, which have been operational for more than 10 years, were inspected to figure out the cause of longitudinal cracks for the purpose of modifying the scoring items in the state assessment NATM tunnel related to the longitudinal crack and the thickness of concrete lining. All investigated tunnels were classified into four groups depending on the shape and usage of each tunnel. The causes of longitudinal crack occurrence were analyzed by investigating the correlations between the longitudinal crack and the following four factors: the patterns of ground excavation; construction state of primary support system; characteristics of material properties of the concrete lining; and thickness of lining which was obtained by Ground Penetration Radar (GPR) tests. It was found that influencing factors causing longitudinal cracks in the lining were closely related with the construction condition of the primary support system, i.e. shotcrete, rockbolt, and steel-rib; crack occurrences were not much affected by the excavation patterns. As for the properties of concrete lining materials, occurrence of the longitudinal crack was mostly affected by the following three items: w/c ratio; contents of cement; and strength of lining. When estimating the lining thickness of the concrete lining by GPR tests and taking thickness effect into account in the statement assessment, it was concluded that increase of the index score by an average of 0.03 (ranging from 0.01 up to 0.071) is needed; a more realistic way of state assessment should be proposed in which the increased index score caused by lack of lining thickness should be taken into account.
This study is intended to find out the influence of Lignosulfonic Acid Type Admixture on compressive, tensile, flexural strength and dispersing action of mortar, and fixation of by-product of pulp industry. 1. The more Pozzolith-84 is added, the larger flow value is. The admixture of lignosulfonic acid type adhere to cement particles and the surface potential of particles is generated. On account of the repulsion among the cement particles, they are dispersed and the mortar get workable, so the production cost of precast product is curtailed and the amount of cement is reduced in a certain workability of mortar. 2. The strength of mortar is greater than plain mortar when P/C added is 0.2 and 0.4%. As time passed the potential energy is reduced and the distance of particles which lignosulfonic acid adhered to get near according as the amount of adhesion is increased. The setting and hardening reaction of morter is occurred in close state, so the strength of mortar is increased a little. The strength of mortar is less than plain mortar when amount P/C added is 0.8%. Pozzolith-84 is mainly composed of lignosulfonic acid and lignin does not influence the hardening of mortar, therefore the remained $SO_3$, $SO_3H$ are the reason of decrease of strength. 3. There is high significance between specific gravity and compressive strength. The larger specific gravity is, the more compressive strength is increased. There is high significance between 7 day's strength and 28 day's strength. The larger compressive strength is, the more tensile and flexural strength are increased. 4. Since Pozzolith-84 is a by-product of pulp industry, by using the Pozzolith-84 admixture the concreate quality is improved. The water pollusion is reduced according to fix by-products in concrete structure.

The synthetic fibers including Polyvinyl alcohol and Polyethylene fibers have been successfully used in the manufacture of high ductile fiber reinforced cementitious composites. Polypropylene (PP) fiber has also been used in composites, not for the purpose of achieving a high level of tensile ductility but to improve the fire resistance performance of concrete exposed to high temperatures. This paper discusses the method for enhancing the performance of composites supplemented with PP fiber. Five types of mixture proportions were designed with high volume fly ash for testing the performance of composites. Type I cement and fly ash F were used as binding materials. The water-to-binder ratio was 0.23~0.25, and the amount of PP fiber used was 2 vol%. Polystyrene bead were also used to increase the tensile ductility of composites. A series of experiments including slump, density, compression and uniaxial tension tests were performed to evaluate the performance of cementitious composites supplemented with PP fiber. From the test results, it was exhibited that the performance of composites supplemented with PP fiber can be enhanced by adopting the mechanics and statistics theory.

The thermal characteristics of concrete specimens were analyzed using cement paste specimens with artificial cracks. In order to understand the temperature characteristics of the specimen depending on the crack depth, the specimen was heated and the minimum temperatures of the specimens at which cracks appear were investigated according to the crack depth. It was confirmed that the surface temperature distribution of the specimen varies depending on whether the specimen is cracked or not, because of the single and multiple reflections of the incident energy. Furthermore, as the temperature distribution of the specimen reaches a steady state, the temperature data tends to decrease with the crack depth. Through the observation of the normalized temperatures, it was found that the temperature of the specimens obtained from this experiment reached a steady state after 10 minutes. At this time, the standard deviation of the normalized temperature is around 0.01 or less, and the temperature decreases linearly with increasing crack depth. This result is considered to be closely related to the area where multiple reflections occur in the cracked region. If the correlation between the crack region and the incident energy is analyzed for various specimens, it can be applied to the diffuse reflection of the light.

The inorganic insulating material was fabricated with quartzite, ordinary portland cement(OPC), lime, anhydrous gypsum and foaming agent by hydrothermal reaction. The inorganic insulating material was fabricated by using autoclave chamber under high-temperature and high-pressure. The inorganic insulating material is a porous lightweight concrete. Because of its porous structure, properties of inorganic insulating material were light-weight and high-heat insulation property. Properties of fabricated inorganic insulating material were $0.26g/cm^3$ in specific gravity, 0.4MPa in compressive strength and 0.064W/mK in thermal conductivity. In this study, the inorganic insulating material was fabricated and analyzed at different size of quartzite/OPC, various foaming reagent and functional additives to improve the properties. Consequently, polydimethylsiloxane can improve density and thermal conductivity. Especially, polydimethylsiloxane showed excellent improvement in compressive strength.

In this study, a lightweight geopolymer was prepared using by slag discharged from IGCC (Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle) power plant and its physical properties, the density and compressive strength, were analyzed as a function of the concentration of alkali activators, W/S ratio and aging times. Also the possibility of applying it to lightweight materials by adding Si sludge as a foaming agent to the geopolymerg was investigated. In particular, a complex composition of alkali activator and a pre-curing process were applied to improve the strength properties of lightweight geopolymers. While the compressive strength of the lightweight geopolymer using a single activator was 9.5 MPa, the specimen made with a complex composition of alkali activator had compressive strength of 2~5 times higher. In addition, the lightweight geopolymer with pre-curing process showed a compressive strength value of 18~48 % higher than that of specimen made with no precuring process. In this study, by using a complex activator and a pre-curing process. the maximum compressive strength of lightweight geopolymer was obtained as 40 MPa (The specimen was aged for 3 days and had density of $1.83g/cm^3$), which is comparable to cement concrete. By analyzing the crystal phase and microstructure of geopolymers obtained in this study using by XRD and SEM, respectively, it was confirmed that the flower-bud-like zeolite crystal was homogeneously distributed on the surface of the C-S-H gel (sodium silicate hydrate gel) in the geopolymer.
