  • The purpose of this article is to understand of the muscle adaptation based on myosin heavy chain. Especially, skeletal muscle dadptation in related to aging, unloading, training will discussed. MHC expression is highly plastic in muscles of adult mammals in accordance with the environmental conditions. These changes is called muscle plasticity. The plasticity is the atility of muscle cell to alter either the quantity of protein or the type of protein. MHC is both an important structural and regulatory protein comprising the contractile apparatus.

  • Roll forming process is one of important metal processing technology because the process is simple and economical. These days, roll forming process is tried to be employed in manufacturing the circuit board, barrier ribs and solar cell plate for productivity. However, it is difficult to apply to the forming of micro scale or sub-micro scale pattern. In this study, the roll forming processing for the micro scale is designed and analyzed. In this study, the forming of micro pattern for solar cell plate by incremental roll forming process is analyzed. The solar cell plate may have thousands of patterns, and the analysis of forming considering all the patterns is impossible due to the computational costs. In this study, analyses are carried out for various numbers of patterns and the results are compared. It is shown that the analyses results with four row patterns and twelve row patterns are same. So, it is considered that the analysis can be carried out for only four rows of pattern for the design of incremental roll forming process. Also experiment is carried out process that is designed through simulation.

  • In this study, we developed a decladding device which separates 250 mm length of simulated nuclear spent fuel rod into the pallets and the pieces of the hulls after inserting the rod cut into the module with several pairs of blades. To improve the performance of the equipment, we considered some mechanisms to prevent the rod cut from being exposed or bounced into the hot-cell, to reduce the operation time, and to insert the rods automatically. It is expected that the newly developed system will contribute to prevent radioactive pollution in the hot-cell, reduce the operation time, and to increase the safety of the operators. As a result of the performance test for some mockup fuel rod cuts in the ACP(Advanced Spent Fuel Control Process) facility, it was verified that the decladding device could be applied to the actual fuel rod cut. And it will be able to use for a scale-up facility in the future.

  • Too little and too much water due to climatic events is a significant cause of global food insecurity. Crops are less productive under water-limited conditions and all major crops, with the exception of rice (Oryza sativa), die within a few days of complete submergence. To complement our studies on genes such as SUB1A, (an ERF-VII transcription factor that provides robust submergence tolerance) and AG1 (a TREHALOSE 6-P PHOSPHATASE that promotes establishment of young seedlings underwater), we have retooled INTACT (${\underline{I}}solation$ of ${\underline{N}}uclei$ ${\underline{TA}}gged$ in specific ${\underline{C}}ell$ ${\underline{T}}ypes$) and TRAP (${\underline{T}}ranslating$ ${\underline{R}}ibosome$ ${\underline{A}}ffinity$ ${\underline{P}}urification$) for rice. These technologies enable us to follow dynamics in chromatin, nuclear pre-mRNAs and ribosome-bound mRNAs in meristems and diverse cell types. With these technologies we can better interpret responses to stresses and reestablishment of homeostasis. These include stress acclimation strategies involving changes in metabolism and development, such as dynamics in suberin deposition in sub-epidermal layers of roots that limit water loss under drought and oxygen escape during waterlogging. Our new data uncover dynamic and reversible regulation at multiple levels of gene regulation and provide new insights into processes of stress resilience. • This study is focused to predict the behavior of Al foam with closed-cell structure during the 3 point bending test and the upsetting test according to aspect ratio. We calculated characters of aluminum foams with closed-cell structure and took the simulation. The effects on the aspect ratio of the cell was investigated parametrically. The analysis was carried out on two models, First, the bending test in elasticity of the rectangular beam, and Second, the upsetting test in plasticity of the circular cylinder. In the analysis, the deformation of the beam and the cylinder was influenced by the aspect ratio of the cell. Further, We assumed that the geometry of feared aluminum cell change the stress and strain in the test.

  • Recent evidence has suggested that trunk neural crest cell generally assumed to have equivalent differentiation potentials, demonstrate differentiation bias along the anterior/posterior axis. In amphibian and fish, neural crest cells give rise to three chromatophore types, melanophores, xantho-phores, and iridophores. Each pigment cell type has distinct characteristics but there is speculation about the cellular plasticity that exists among them. Neural crest cells migrate along specific routes, ventromedially and dorsolaterally. Neural crest cells that travel dorsolaterally are the first cells to begin migration in the axolotl and are the major contributors to the visible pigment pattern. Many factors and mechanisms that are responsible for guiding migratory neural crest cells along potential pathways or determining their fate remain unknown. A single lineage of the crest, which becomes restricted to one of the three pigment cell types, gives us the opportunity to examine the existence of neural crest stem cell populations and cellular plasticity. Study presented here showed results from recent in vitro studies designed to identify parameters influencing differentiation events of individual neural crest-derived pigment cell lineages. Melanophore production from neural crest explants originating from different levels along the anterior/posterior axis of wild type-axolotl embryos were compared and demonstrate that the differentiation of melanophores is enhanced in subpopulation of neural crest treated with forskolin. Forskolin (an adenylate cyclase activator) increases intracellular CAMP concentration and eventually activates the protein kinase-A signaling pathway. Melanophore number, melanin content, and tyrosinase activity in explants taken from the anterior-most region of the crest increased significantly in response to forskolin treatment. This study suggests implications of region specific influences and developmental regulation in the development of pigment pattern.

  • Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a genetic multisystem disorder that results from mutations in the TSC1 or TSC2 genes, and is associated with hamartomas in several organs, including subependymal giant cell tumors. The neurological manifestations of TSC are particularly challenging and include infantile spasms, intractable epilepsy, cognitive disabilities, and autism. The TSC1- and TSC2-encoded proteins modulate cell function via the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling cascade, and are key factors in the regulation of cell growth and proliferation. The mTOR pathway provides an intersection for an intricate network of protein cascades that respond to cellular nutrition, energy levels, and growth factor stimulation. In the brain, TSC1 and TSC2 have been implicated in cell body size, dendritic arborization, axonal outgrowth and targeting, neuronal migration, cortical lamination, and spine formation. The mTOR pathway represents a logical candidate for drug targeting, because mTOR regulates multiple cellular functions that may contribute to epileptogenesis, including protein synthesis, cell growth and proliferation, and synaptic plasticity. Antagonism of the mTOR pathway with rapamycin and related compounds may provide new therapeutic options for TSC patients.

  • The past two decades have witnessed an upsurge in the appreciation of adipose tissue (AT) as an immunometabolic hub harbouring heterogeneous cell populations that collectively fine-tune systemic metabolic homeostasis. Technological advancements, especially single-cell transcriptomics, have offered an unprecedented opportunity for dissecting the sophisticated cellular networks and compositional dynamics underpinning AT remodelling. The "re-discovery" of functional brown adipose tissue dissipating heat energy in human adults has aroused tremendous interest in exploiting the mechanisms underpinning the engagement of AT thermogenesis for combating human obesity. In this review, we aim to summarise and evaluate the use of single-cell transcriptomics that contribute to a better appreciation of the cellular plasticity and intercellular crosstalk in thermogenic AT.

  • The development and differentiation of endothelial cells (ECs) are fundamental processes with significant implications for both health and disease. ECs, which are found in all organs and blood vessels, play a crucial role in facilitating nutrient and waste exchange and maintaining proper vessel function. Understanding the intricate signaling pathways involved in EC development holds great promise for enhancing vascularization, tissue engineering, and vascular regeneration. Hematopoietic stem cells originating from hemogenic ECs, give rise to diverse immune cell populations, and the interaction between ECs and immune cells is vital for maintaining vascular integrity and regulating immune responses. Dysregulation of vascular development pathways can lead to various diseases, including cancer, where tumor-specific ECs promote tumor growth through angiogenesis. Recent advancements in single-cell genomics and in vivo genetic labeling have shed light on EC development, plasticity, and heterogeneity, uncovering tissue-specific gene expression and crucial signaling pathways. This review explores the potential of ECs in various applications, presenting novel opportunities for advancing vascular medicine and treatment strategies.
