유도전동기의 동특성해석에 있어서의 Time constant parameter에 의한 간이해석법 (Simple analysis on induction motor dynamic performances by time constant parameter)

  • Induction motors are known to cause voltage dip, oscillating torque and inrush current on the dynamic period. To compensate for these undesirable effects, the prediction of dynamic performances is required. The dynamic performances are determinated by circuit time constants. From this point of view, in this paper, the dynamic equivalent circuit included only three time-constant parameters are presented. To predict more simply dynamic performances, the new characteristics time constant parameters are analyzed, and now these parameters are described as the function of circuit time constants. This paper reviews and analyzes the use of series capacitance compensations, and the use of this analysis can make simply a prediction about oscillating conditions.

  • Snow accretion on transmission lines may cause critical accidents such as sleet jump, tower collpases, etc,. In order to assist power system operators to prevent thses accidents, aprototype expert system had been developed. The system has basic functions of forecasting snow accretion on transmission lines and making a list of all feasible and effective deicing countermeasures. The knowledge of the effect of weather conditions on the snow accretion process continue main rule base. Simulation results show that the proposed system is very promising.

  • Transient tachypnea of the newborn (TTN), respiratory distress syndrome (RDS), and persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN) are the three most common disorders that cause respiratory distress after birth. An understanding of the pathophysiology of these disorders and the development of effective therapeutic strategies is required to control these conditions. Here, we review recent papers on the pathogenesis and treatment of neonatal respiratory disease.

  • Malfunction or inappropriate management of ventilation system in public transportation may cause unpleasant atmosphere or health problems to the old or feeble passengers. In this work, adsorption/desorption system for gaseous carbon dioxide is developed and tested under the various indoor conditions. Finally an optimum design specification for the indoor $CO_2$ control will presented.

  • In order to analyze the shaped drawing process, it is necessary that the friction boundary condition between dies and blanks should be worked out the accurate numerical friction models. But, the existing numerical models of the drawing may be large different from the actual conditions. In this paper, accurate analysis of the drawing process should be subjected. It is to develop accuracy of the numerical friction models and potentialize to apply for the high speed forming work in the drawing process. Therefore, the results should improve the accuracy, cause the energy saving for the drawing process and finally expand the applying areas of the results.

  • The admittance of one-port electrostatic actuator are modeled using the steady-state sinusoidal response. Also the admittance of the differential type actuator is derived taking the practical conditions into consideration, although it has no admittance in ideal case. It is a function of biasing error, driving error, and capacitive mismatch including parasitic capacitors. The validity of the admittance model is proved by comparing between the modeled and measured admittances. The distortion in the frequency response curve measured by a capacitive sensor is analyzed and it is concluded that the admittance is the main cause of this distortion.

  • Brushless DC motors have a trapezoidal back EMF wave form and are fed with rectangular stator currents. Under these conditions, the torque produced is theoretcally constant. However, in practice, torque ripple may exist, one major cause of which conies from phase current commutation. In this paper we propose an improved method of reducing the torque ripple due to phase current commutation of indirectly restricting the uncommutated current through control of the other phase currents. Simulation results are present.

Observation of Soft-Rot Wood Degradation Caused by Higher Ascomyceteous fungi

  • The capability of higher ascomyceteous fungi to cause typical soft-rot decay for wood under laboratory conditions is reviewed and discussed. Fungi tested were extremely active in the decomposition of timbers. Scanning electron micrographs illustrated typical soft-rot decay pattern of higher wood decay ascomycetes, with the exception of H. trugodes that caused white-rot decay. Most of the fungi tested could be grouped as soft-rot fungi that showed typical soft-rot type II. Hypha confined primarily to the resin canals in softwoods or vessel elements in hardwoods and spread tracheid to tracheid via pits of cell wall to cell wall with mechanical force.

  • During the plant operation, steam generator U-tube assembly will potentially be subject to adverse environmental conditions which can cause damages to them. This report addresses the major design factors of CANDU type steam generator which are intended to minimize the potential tube damages. Such factors include U-tube material, high circulation ratio, tube-to-tubesheet joint, tube support design. Also a few suggestions are presented for the design and performance improvement of CANDU type steam generators.
