  • According to the burst of aged people, researchers have focused on aging-related diseases. Cognitive impairment including Alzheimer's disease (AD), one of the representative diseases related to aging, has no treatment option until now. Recently, it has been revealed that systemic inflammation plays a fundamental role in the pathogenesis of AD. Previous studies have suggested the association between poor oral health and cognitive impairment. Poor oral health can cause dental caries, chronic periodontitis, multiple tooth loss, and poor chewing ability, etc. Especially, periodontitis is a well-known chronic inflammatory disease and affects cognitive impairment directly and indirectly by inflammatory products mediators. Therefore, reduction of pathogenic microbial burden and inflammatory products by treating periodontitis can be a therapeutic modality to prevent cognitive impairment or to slow down the progression of it. Future studies are necessary to elucidate the causal relations and plausible mechanisms between poor oral health and cognitive impairment.

  • Altered intracellular $Ca^{2+}$ homeostasis is presumably the primary mechanism of the diastolic impairment in diabetic cardiomyopathy. However, causal relations of numerous environmental changes observed in the diabetic heart have been left unresolved. In the present study, we sought to establish an in vitro model of diabetic cardiomyopathy using H9c2 cardiac myocyte cell line.(omitted)

  • Statistics by structural equation modeling techniques were used to assess a model of chemistry learning strategy based on performance goal orientation. In the optimal Model III of this research, Performance-approach goal was positively related to the use of learning strategy(p<.05) and achievement need(p<.05). Performance-avoidance goal was negatively related to learning strategy(p<.05) and was positively related to self-handicapping tendency(p<.15). Performance-approach goal affected learning strategy indirectly through achievement need(p<.05). Use of achievement need was positively related to learning strategy(p<.05) and self-handicapping tendency(p<.35). Self-handicapping tendency affected learning strategy negatively(p<.05). Implications of these findings for learning strategy in chemistry education are discussed.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among variables of somatic attribution, chronic pain, depression and chronic fatigue in the elderly. Methods: Empirical data for testing hypothetical models was collected from 311 people over 65 years old in a community settings in Seoul, Korea in June and July, 2000. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and correlational analysis using pc-SAS program. The Linear Structural Modeling(LISREL) 8.0 program was used to find the best fit model which explained causal relationship of variables. Result: According to Accepted model, the relation of variables is that the somatic attribution is the influencing variable to chronic pain and depression and chronic pain and depression is the influencing variable to chronic fatigue. Conclusion: The findings of this study give useful information to construct intervention program relating chronic pain, depression and chronic fatigue for the elderly.

  • This study analyzed the causal relationship between positive psychological capital and psychological well-being of hospital administrative staff among the medical institution workers who were hard to find in previous studies. The purpose of this study is to suggest the policy implications to improve the psychological well-being level of the hospital administrative staff through the analysis results. For the empirical analysis of variables, self-efficacy, hope, optimism, and resilience were selected as the independent variables. Selfacceptance, positive relations with others and autonomy were selected as dependent variables. The results of empirical analysis showed that there is a significant relationship between the variables and theoretical and policy implications were suggested based on these results.

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate the causal relations among attachment, and school adjustment influencing psychological well-being in middle school students. The data contains 564 middle school students. The statistical techniques were correlation analysis and structural equation modeling. To summarize the results, the correlations among attachment, school adjustment and psychological well-being were significant. The results of the structural equation modeling show that students's attachment and school adjustment had direct positive influence on psychological well-being. These results imply that perceived attachment, school adjustment influence adolescents' psychological well-being.

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate the causal relations among attachment, and social support influencing problem behavior in middle school students. The data contains 482 middle school students. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS and AMOS statistical package for correlation analysis and structural equation modeling. Study results were as follows. The correlations among attachment, social support and problem behavior were significant. The results of the structural equation modeling show that students' social support had direct positive influence on problem behavior, but students' attachment didn't have direct positive influence on problem behavior. That is to say, social support mediated the effect of attachment on problem behavior. These results imply that perceived attachment, and social support influence adolescents' problem behavior. Results suggest that programs that promote social support should be given to reduce problem behaviors of middle school students.

  • For urban regeneration, the direction and vision of the correct regeneration policy should be established. Therefore, the regeneration policy of local small and medium cities should be able to increase the collective efficacy of local residents from the uniform physical redevelopment policy or budget support. The first purpose of this study is to investigate the present decline in the degree of decline of old urban residents in small and medium cities, Social Environment population education welfare Culture, and so on, revealing the difference in the pattern and degree of decline among the various sectors. Second, the purpose of this study is to investigate the causal relationship between the perceived decline of old residents and the influence of local residents on collective efficacy and attitudes toward rehabilitation projects. The subjects of the study were 309 questionnaire respondents who responded to the questionnaire of D city in Gyeonggi - do. For statistical analysis, SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0 were used and statistical significance was judged based on significance level .05. The implications of this study are the research data necessary for the regeneration policy of local small and medium cities. The implications of this study are to investigate the level and characteristics of urban decline by integrating various phenomena of qualitative factors as well as quantitative factors of decline An alternative to developmental policies that address regional disparities can be suggested.

  • The purpose of this study is to look into how elderly people's health promoting behaviors influence their successful aging, to realize how their perception of successful aging and their life satisfaction have the mediating effect on the path from health promotion behaviors to successful aging, and to find the significant influence of successful aging perception and life satisfaction on successful aging. This researcher conducted a questionnaire survey with elderly people using a senior welfare center in Gyeonggio-do, and analyzed 250 copies that. For data analysis, SPSS Win 25 was applied to conduct frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and correlation analysis. Mediating effect analysis was made to verify the causal relations between health promoting behaviors and successful aging, and to validate the mediating effect of successful aging perception and life satisfaction on the causal relations. As a result, elderly people's health promoting behaviors influenced their perception of successful aging, their life satisfaction, and their successful aging. Their perception of successful aging had the mediating effect on health promotional behaviors and successful aging, but life satisfaction did not so. This study has the following implications: it is necessary to train persons specializing in support for health promoting, to develop an efficient health promotional model and program, and to provide an opportunity of education. It is necessary to come up with a support policy in consideration of tangible or intangible factors. It is necessary to establish a policy in line with economic levels and health conditions of elderly people.
