Dry film method for large size of PDP(Plasma Display Panel) module has been actively investigated. This method for lead-free transparent dielectric formation depends on green sheet technology. By adjusting the composition of transparent dielectric powders and organics, uniformly dispersed slurry was fabricated, Viscosity of the slurry exhibited pseudoplastic behavior for tape casting, Cast green sheets were tested under tensile condition at room temperature. It was found that the increase in transparent dielectric powder and binder ratio leads to decrease in strain to failure of green sheets from 120 % to 34 % and from 255 % to 4 %, respectively. Tensile strength of green sheets decreased abruptly with increase of transparent dielectric powder ratio, with minimum at 0.13 MPa. On the other hand, tensile strength increased continuously from 0.1 MPa to 2.4 MPa with increase of binder ratio. The green sheets were attached on the glass substrate and heated by following firing schedule. As a result, the best result was obtained when fired at 580 $^{\circ}C$ for 15 min and had transmittance of 78 % in visible range 550 nm.
Melt-quenching of steels leads to various metallographic effects such as refinement of grain size, extension of the solid solubility of carbon and alloying elements, and is expected to improve the mechanical properties of conventional steels. Furthermore, this technique is a useful method for producing sheet directly from liquid state. And it will lend itself to development as a continuous cast process which offers significant savings in energy and product costs. The purpose of this study is to present the microstructures of melt-quenched austenitic stainless steels. As the results of this study, the morphology of melt-quenched microstructure show that the roll contact area is columnar structure, and the free surface area is dendrite structure. As the line speed increases, the ratio of $d_{colunnar}/d_{total}$ increases from 0.12 to 0.60, but the ribbon thickness decreases from $150{\mu}m$ to $30{\mu}m$.
The aim of this study is to investigate the process conditions on the microstructual changes and mechanical properties of large 7175 aluminum ring roll forgings. The billets range from 370 mm to 720 mm in diameter were homogenized and ring roll forged after direct chill casting. The tensile properties of ring roll forged specimen manufactured with ${\Phi}370mm$ billets were superior to those of ${\Phi}720mm$ billets under $T_6$ condition. Also, these properties showed better than those of military specification under $T_{74}$ treatment. The impact value of ring roll forged specimen under $T_{74}$ treatment increased up to 20% than that of $T_6$ condition. The fracture toughness of ring roll forged specimen manufactured with ${\Phi}370mm$ cast billet showed nearly same level of ${\Phi}720mm$ billet which was processed using MF or Cog free forging followed by ring roll forging.
The popularity of Ni-Cr-Mo based metal alloys for metal-ceramic crown have increased recently because of low price, superior yield strength and rigidity. the use of these alloys give them the potential advantage of thinner copping with the required rigidity for long span bridges. The purpose of this study was to assess the microstructures and mechanical properties of Ni-Cr-Mo-(Si,Al,Nb,Zr,Ti.Cu,Mm) based Alloys not containing beryllium(Be) related toxic effects. The abtained results indicated that as-cast these specimen alloys showed compositional and microstructural differences, and mechanical properties values of Ni69Cr20Mo5Si2Al4 alloy among these specimen alloys was found to be superior to those of commercial Ni-Cr based alloy using in market place today.
The present study was aimed to investigate the dependence of fatigue property on microporosity variation of low-pressure die-cast (LPDC) A356 alloy. The fatigue property of A356 alloy was evaluated through high cycle fatigue test, and the microporosity-terms used were the fractographic porosity measured from SEM observation on fractured surface and the volumetric porosity obtained through the density measurement using Archimedes's principle. The number of cycles to failure of A356 alloys depends obviously upon the variation of fractographic porosity, and can describe in terms of the defect susceptibility which depends on the microporosity variation at a given value of stress amplitude. The modified Basquin's equation was suggested through the combination of microporosity variation and static maximum tensile stress to fatigue strength coefficient. Using modified Basquin's equation, it could suggest that the maximum values of fatigue strength coefficient and exponent achievable in defect-free condition of A356 alloy are 265 MPa, -0.07, respectively.
It has been well known that the assumption of full state availability is one of the most important restrictions to the practical realization of VSCS. And several attempts to alleviate the assumption had been made. however, it is not easy to find a positive scheme among them. Recently, an output feedback variable structure control system(OFVSCS) was proposed and the effectiveness of the scheme was validated for the disturbance free systems. The purpose of this study is to propose a robust OFVSCS that have the robust properties against process parameter variations and external disturbances by extending the basic OFVSCS and to evaluate its control performances. The ROFVSES is composed of dynamic switching function and output feedback switching control inputs that are constructed by the use of the unknown vector modeling technique. With the proposed schems, existence of sliding mode is guaranteed and any nonzero bias can be suppressed in the face of disturbances and process parameter variations as far as well-known matching condition is satisfied. Due to the fact that the ROFVSCS is driven by small number of measured informations, the practical application of VSCS for the systems with unmeasurable states and for high order systems, the conventional schemes cannot be applied, is possible with the proposed scheme. It is noticeable that the implementation cast of VSCS can be considerably reduced without sacrifice of control performances by adopting ROFVSCS since there is no need to measure the states with high measurement cost.
Key aspects of the Norwegian Method of Tunnelling (NMT) are reviewed. These include a predictive method of support design using the six-parameter Q-system of rock mass characterisation. The rock mass rating or Q-value is updated during tunnel driving. The designed tunnel support generally consists of wet process, steel fibre reinforced shotcrete combined with fully grouted, untensioned rock bolts, Even in poor rock conditions S(fr) + B usually acts as the final rock reinforcement and tunnel lining. Since it is a drained lining, it is very economic compared to cast concrete with membranes. Light, free-standing steel liners are used to prevent water affecting the runnel environment. Rock mass conditions, and hence lining design and cost estimation can be assessed by careful use of seismic surveys. Relationships between the P-wave velocity, the rock mass deformation modulus and the Q-value have recently been established, where tunnel depth, rock porosity and the uniaxial compression strength of the rock are important variables. The rock mass modulus estimate, and simple index testing of the joints, provide the key input which joints are discretely represented (either in two dimensions with the UDEC code or in three dimensions with the 3DEC code) is generally favoured compared to continuum analysis. The latter may give a misleading impression of uniformity and deformations tend to be understimated. Q-system NMT designs of S(fr) + B (fibre reinforced shotcrete and bolting) are numerically checked and adjustments made to bolt capacities and shotcrete thickness if overloading is evident around the modelled profile.
High welding speed and narrow weld seam are favorable for welding of magnesium alloy. Magnesium alloy is recommended for the smart frame because it has several advantages such as low density, high thermal conductivity, EMI shielding capability and good cast ability. This study is for the assembly welding of the magnesium smart frame with high productivity, good performance and low cost. The window for battery on AZ91D frame produced by die-casting was prepared by CNC machining. Corresponding AZ31 blank of 0.2mm thickness was prepared by die-blanking cut. All system set was fixed at the stationary bed but the laser beam was manipulated by scanner up-to 1,000mm/s speed. The weld joint between AZ31 sheet and AZ91D frame was welded by fiber laser on 850~1,000W output power. The joint showed penetration enough but some humping bead. The distortion by the weld heat was almost free because of the quick dissipation of the heat by small beam size and fast welding. Consequently, the thinner magnesium foil was assembled successfully to the magnesium frame of mobile phone.
p-(2-Vinyloxyethoxy)benzylidenemalononitrile 2 and methyl p-(2-vinyloxyethoxy)benzylidenecyanoacetate 3 was prepared by the condensation of p-(2-vinyloxyethoxy)benzaldehyde 1 with malononitrile or methyl cyanoacetate, respectively. Vinyl ether monomers 2 and 3 polymerized quantitatively with radical initiators in γ-butyrolactone solution at 65 ℃. The trisubstituted terminal double bond participated in the vinyl polymerization and radical polymerization of 2 and 3 led to swelling polymers 4 and 5 that were not soluble in common solvents due to cross-linking. Under the same polymerization conditions ethylvinyl ether polymerized well with model compounds of p-methoxybenzylidenemalononitrile 6 and methyl p-methoxybenzylidenecyanoacetate 7, respectively, to give 1:1 alternating copolymers 8 and 9 in high yields. Polymers 4 and 5 showed a thermal stability up to 300 ℃ without any characteristic Tg peaks in DSC thermograms. Alternating copolymers 8 and 9 were soluble in common solvents such as acetone and DMSO, and the inherent viscosities of the polymers were in the range of 0.36-0.74 dL/g. Films cast from acetone solution were cloudy and tough and Tg values obtained from DSC thermograms were in the range of 59-60 ℃.
ο-(2-Vinyloxyethoxy)benzylidenemalononitrile (3a) and methyl ο-(2-vinyloxyethoxy)-benzylidenecyanoacetate (3b), m-(2-vinyloxyethoxy)benzylidenemalononitrile (4a), and methyl m-(2-vinyloxyethoxy)benzylidenecyanoacetate (4b) were prepared by the condensation of ο-(2-vinyloxyethoxy)benzaldehyde (1) and m-(2-vinyloxyethoxy)benzaldehyde (2) with malononitrile or methyl cyanoacetate, respectively. Bifunctional vinyl ether monomers 3a and 3b polymerized quantitatively with radical initiators in γ-butyrolactone solution at 65 ℃, while meta-isomers 4a and 4b gave lower yields of polymers under the same conditions. The polymers 5-6 obtained from the monomers 3-4 were insoluble in common solvents due to cross-linking. Under the same polymerization conditions ethyl vinyl ether polymerized well with model compounds ο-methoxybenzylidenemalononitrile 7a, methyl ο-methoxybenzylidenecyanoacetate 7b, m-methoxybenzylidenemalononitrile 8a, and methyl m-methoxybenzylidenecyanoacetate 8b, respectively, to give 1:1 alternating copolymers 9-10 in high yields. Cross-linked polymers 5-6 showed a thermal stability up to 300 ℃, and showed a double phase degradation pattern in their TGA thermograms. Polymers 5-6 showed broad endothermic bands around 75-110 ℃ without any characteristic Tg peaks in DSC thermograms. Alternating copolymers 9-10, except copolymer 9b were soluble in common organic solvents. The inherent viscosities of polymer 9-10 were in the range of 0.35-0.62 dL/g. Polymer films cast from acetone solution were cloudy and tough and Tg values obtained from DSC thermograms were in the range of 118-165 ℃.
