  • Fe based (Fe$_{68.2}$C$_{5.9}$Si$_{3.5}$B$_{6.7}$P$_{9.6}$Cr$_{2.1}$Mo$_{2.0}$Al$_{2.0}$) amorphous powder, which is a composition of iron blast cast slag, were produced by a gas atomization process, and sequently mixed with ductile Cu powder by a mechanical ball milling process. The Fe-based amorphous powders and the Fe-Cu composite powders were compacted by a spark plasma sintering (SPS) process. Densification of the Fe amorphous-Cu composited powders by spark plasma sintering of was occurred through a plastic deformation of the each amorphous powder and Cu phase. The SPS samples milled by AGO-2 under 500 rpm had the best homogeneity of Cu phase and showed the smallest Cu pool size. Micro-Vickers hardness of the as-SPSed specimens was changed with the milling processes.

고속전철 내·외장재용 알루미늄 합금의 압출 금형 개발 및 압출 조건의 제어 (Extrusion Die Development of Interior & Exterior Parts for High Speed Train on Aluminum Alloys and Controls of Extrusion Conditions)

  • 압출기술에서 중요한 것은 금형의 설계 및 제작이며, 원하는 형태의 압출이 원활히 이루어지는 동시에 금형의 수명을 최대한 연장하고 효율성을 높이기 위한 금형의 설계가 필수적이다. 압출 온도, 압출 속도 등이 압출시의 주된 변수이며, 압출비 및 재료의 물성, 압출 형태에 따라 각기 다른 조건이 부가되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 고속전철 내외장재 부품용 알루미늄 6xxx 계열 주조 합금의 압출공정에 대해 연구하였다. 6063, 6061, 6N01, 6005, 5083 and 6060 알루미늄 합금의 압출 금형 단면을 설계하였으며 이에 대한 실험을 실시하였다. 또한, 빌렛온도, 압출온도 및 재료의 변화에 따른 압출 압력과 같은 압출 조건들을 분석하였다. 6063 알루미늄 합금이 가장 낮은 온도와 압력에서 압출이 가능한 반면 6061 합금은 가장 높은 온도와 압력에서 압출이 가능하였다. 이들 실험결과로부터 수립된 조건들을 이용하여 성공적인 압출제품을 제조할 수 있었다.

  • 일체형 배기다기관은 하이드로 포밍 대량 생산이 가능한 부품으로 국내, 국제적인 환경문제에 따른 배출 규제와 매우 밀접한 관계에 있기 때문에, 국내 완성차 업체에서 큰 관심을 가지고 있다. 일반적인 주조부품과 비교해서 관형 배기다기관은 용접공정 감소에 따른 단순화된 제작 공정 뿐만아니라, 엔진 시동시 가스 분해능이 우수한 특징을 가지고 있다. 본 연구는 부품, 공정, 금형 설계를 포함하는 배기다기관을 개발하는데 목적이 있다. 배기 시스템의 성능은 유동해석, 열전달, 열응력, 내구해석 시뮬레이션을 통해 평가하였다.

A study on Production of Al Foam by Using of Al Return Scrap for Sound and Vibration Absorption Materials

  • Porous structures of aluminum foam have been studied by using return aluminum scrap. The apparent foam shape, foam height, density, pore size and their distributions in various section areas of the experimental samples have been investigated. The sample have been cast into metallic mold, using aluminum foam prepared from a precursor based on pure Al ingot and return aluminum scrap mixed with various amounts of 1-2wt% increasing viscosity and foam agent materials. The process provides for flexibility in design of foam structures via relatively easy control over the amount of hydrogen evolution and the drainage processes which occur during foam formation. This is facilitated by manipulating parameters such as the foaming agent, thermal histories during solidification and mix melt viscosities. A metal for producing the foamed are decomposing a foaming agent in a molten metal such that there is an initial and a subsequent expansion due to foaming agent. It has been found that the Al porous foaming with variation amount of 1∼2wt% foam agent and at 2min holding time, which melting temperature has appeared homogeneous pore size at 650∼700$^{\circ}C$. The compression strength were 10-13 kg/min at 125ppi, and increased by higher pore density. The acoustical performance of the panel made with the foamed aluminum is considerably improved; its absorption coefficient shows NRC 0.6-0.8. It has been found that the Al foam is very preferable for the compactness of the thermal system.

원격장 와전류 배관 탐상 시스템 개발 (Development of Remote Field Eddy Current Pipeline Inspection System)

  • 배관의 관벽투과 특성을 지닌 원격장 와전류 비파괴 검사법은 열교환기 세관 검사에서부터 천연가스 수송관에 이르기까지 다양한 형태의 배관과 결함을 대상으로 적용 연구가 진행되고 있다. 공칭 외경 100mm의 주철관은 주로 상수도 관로의 배수관으로 활용되고 있는데, 차량 진동과 부식에 의한 결함의 생성으로 정수의 누수 문제를 일으킨다. 그러나, 탐상 경제성 및 효용성 문제로 관내 검사장치 투입과 같은 직접적인 검사 방법의 수행이 제한되어 왔다. 원격장 와전류 방법은 시스템 구성이 용이하고 내 외부 부식 결함에 대한 정량적인 평가가 가능하기 때문에 경제성 있는 장치 개발이 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 원격장 와전류 기술을 이용하여 상수도 관망의 특성을 고려한 매설 배관 검사시스템 개발을 수행하였다. 세부적으로는 관내 투입 원격장 와전류 검사의 기구부 설계 및 제작, 원격장 와전류 신호의 획득 및 처리 프로그램 개발, 그리고 개발 장치의 운용 방법 및 절차 검토 등으로 되어 있다.

주조/단조 공정에서 Al6061의 단조효과에 관한 연구 (Forging Effect of Al6061 in Casting/Forging Process)

  • In this study, the casting/forging process was applied in manufacturing a low control arm, in order to prove that application of casting/forging process to Al6061 is likely to get the effect of light weight compared with existing steel products and to reduce the cost of materials. Firstly, In order to set up the optimum casting condition of the forging material, Al6061, casting experiments were carried out by controlling pouring temperature of the aluminum for casting, mold temperature, and pouring time. $700^{\circ}C$ pouring temperature, $300^{\circ}C$ mold temperature and 10-second pouring time were taken into account as the optimum casting conditions. With respect to a hot forging test, it is practiced on the basis of a temperature of materials, strain rate, and reduction rate so as to observe each microstructure and examine strain-stress curve simultaneously; examine tensile test and hardness test; eventually set up the optimum hot forging condition. A hot forging test, tensile test, hardness experiment, and microstructure observation were carried out on condition of $70\%$ reduction rate, $500^{\circ}C$ temperature of materials, and 1 strain rate. As a result of those experiments, 330MPa tensile strength, $16.4\%$ elongation, and 122.8Hv hardness were recorded. In oder to get a sound preform which has no unfitting cavity and less flash, two preforms were proposed on the basis of volume rate of the final product; the optimum volume rate of preform for the low control arm was $115\%$. In conclusion, it is confirmed that using the forging material rather than casting materials in casting/forging process is likely to get more superior mechanical properties. Compared with Al6061, performed by means of general forging, moreover, cast/forged Al6061 can not only stimulate productivity by reducing production processes, but cut down the cost of materials by reusing forging scraps.

용탕단조한 미세강선 보강 알루미늄 복합재료의 미세조직에 대한 고찰 (Microstructure of Squeeze-cast Aluminum Matrix Composite Reinforced by Fine Steel Wires)

  • Aluminum matrix composites reinforced by fine steel wires were fabricated by squeeze casting process. Preforms made of fine steel wires were prepared with different surface conditions, namely uncoated(TN), carbo-nitriding treated(TT), and brass coated(TA). Squeeze casting were performed under the pressure of $1500kg/cm^2$ for 3min. during solidification, and pouring temp. of the melt being $750^{\circ}C$ and the steel mold being preheated at $250^{\circ}C$. Microstructural characteristics were evaluated, particularly concerned with the effect of the surface conditions of the preforms. The results obtained from this study are like these. TN specimens show partially non-wetted regions, due to easy formation of oxides on the surface of the fine steel wires. TT specimens show no interfacial reaction between the steel wires and the aluminum alloy matrix, possibly due to the formation of carbo-nitrided zone on the surface of the steel wires. TA specimens show excellent wettabillity between the reinforced steel wires and the aluminum alloy matrix and very thin interfacial zone is formed between them. During the solution hardening treatment of TA specimens, thickness of the interfacial reaction zones were increased with the solution treating time. TA specimens show typical ductile fracture in tensile test, but TT specimens show brittle fracture possibly due to the formation of the brittle hard surface on the steel wires during carbo-nitriding treatments. TA specimens which were reinforced with 40 vol.% of the fine steel wires exhibit high tensile strength of $77.1kgf/mm^2$ and impact value of $8.1kgf-m/cm^2$.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of the Junk Art represented in the second half 20the century fashion. The highly developed material civilization resulted in human alienations environmental distruption. By this fact human being of the 20the century was to overcome social com-plexity. In this respect this research was focused that how the characteristics of the junk Art was expressed in the second half 20th century fashion. The concepts of the Junk Art lied in the creation of art work in the 2-dimentional plane of 3-dimentional space through the application of all junks (wood pieces industrial debris trash ready-made goods etc) cast by the mod-ern industrial society and the mass production system. Juck Art had been further envigorated in the footstep of the development of the collage method based on the creation of object aes-thetics. And junk artists have untitled social environments with art by assembling junks as a way of exploring the material world of cur-rent society and provided infinite possibilities of expressional medium and technique. Above all junk Art has been reflected in the fashion as well as other art. Especially a lot of the fashion design by the use of junks and the expressive image of junks is produced in the 20th century. That is many of fashion designers have always been aware of what is happening in the arts and have always been able to use the dis-coveries and ideas of the artist to help them solve design problems and creat fashion which are new inventive and reflective of their time. The fashion designers of the junk fashion design could be said to have presented much more possibilities and new development for-mulas to modern fashion design and provided a new order of other formative arts. Unlike the negative and destructive punk cyberpunk fashion junk fashion was a positive and optimistic aesthetics. junk fashion that keeps pace with science and the development of technology is devoted to trying to grasp the real form of ultimate re-ality.

하남시 춘궁동 출토 청동현향로(靑銅懸香爐)의 제작기술과 보존처리 (Conservation of a Bronze Incense Burner from Chungung-dong, Hanam)

  • 청동현향로(靑銅懸香爐)는 1971년 경기도 하남시 춘궁동에서 발견된 고려시대의 향로이다. 유물의 표면에는 점토가 두껍게 고착되어 있으며, 부식으로 인해 청동병과 다수의 균열이 존재하고 일부분이 결손되어 취약한 상태였다. 청동현향로의 안정한 보존과 전시를 위해 표면에 고착된 이물질을 제거하고 취약한 재질을 강화하였고, 균열부위와 결손부위는 직조유리섬유로 보강하고 에폭시 수지로 복원하였다. 제작기술을 규명하기 위해 성분 분석과 미세조직을 관찰하였다. 성분분석 결과, 몸체, 귀, 고리, 뚜껑, 꼭지부위는 주성분이 Cu-Sn-Pb인 3원계 청동합금으로 주조하였고, 몸체와 귀는 구리의 함량이 높은 구리못으로 고정하였음을 확인하였다. 미세조직은 α상이 대부분이며 Cu와 S이 주성분인 비금속개재물이 존재한다.

황남대총 남분 출토 용문투조은판피안교의 보존과 제작기법 연구 (A Study on Conservation and Manufacturing Technique of Saddle Ornament(Angyo) Excavated from South Tomb Hwangnamdaechong)

  • 황남대총 출토 용문투조은판피안교의 보존처리 과정과 제작기법에 대해 소개하고자 한다. 보존처리는 물리적, 화학적 방법을 병행하여 이물질제거를 실시하였으며, 강화처리와 함께 결실 및 취약한 부분은 접합·복원하였다. 안교금구와 좌목선금구 분석결과 은(Ag)이 99 wt%이상이며, 원두정, 내연금구, 복륜은 구리 위에 수은아말감 금도금기법으로 제작하였다. 은판으로 투조된 안교금구와 좌목선금구의 결합방법은 두금구를 포갠 후 내연금구를 올려 놓고 금동원두정을 일정 간격으로 박아 결합시켰다. 그리고 곡선 형태로 생장한 나무를 의도적으로 목심으로 사용하였으며, 마(麻), 모(毛) 종류의 평직직물이 부착되어 제작되었음을 확인하였다.
