  • 본 논문에서는 자전거의 구동 및 변속 창치인 스프라켓에 관한 연구이다. FEM을 이용하여 티타늄 소재 스프라켓의 구조해석을 수행하기 위해 10단 Cassette를 설계하였고, 사용자가 가장 많이 사용하는 단수인 4, 5, 6단을 티타늄 소재로 선정하였다. 티타늄 재료의 물성치를 실험을 통해 확보하였으며, 이를 이용하여 티타늄 스프라켓의 각 치형에 걸리는 Equivalent Stress를 구하였고 스프라켓 고정장치인 스파이더와의 체결 후의 Equivalent Stress를 구하여 티타늄 스프라켓의 안정성을 확보한다.

  • Indoor air quality becomes of a concern recently in view of human health. This study investigates the air diffusion performance and the air change efficiency of a classroom, when outdoor air is introduced in addition to the heating/cooling operation of a ceiling-mounted heat pump. A CFD analysis has been performed to investigate the effect of the discharge angle of the air jets from the heat pump for both parallel and series types of outdoor air system. It is observed that the series type creates more uniform indoor environment compared to the parallel type in general. It can be concluded the discharge angle should not be larger than 40o for the parallel type, in order not to generate thermal stratification in the room.

선형전동기를 적용한 LCD 패널 자동반송용 순환궤도차량 시스템 개발 (Development of OHS System Driven by Linear Motor for Automatic Transfer of LCD Panels)

  • The authors investigated an overhead shuttle (OHS) system for automatic transferring the liquid crystal display (LCD) panels. The constructed tracks of OHS system include the linear and curve regions and have been installed on the ceiling to transfer the cassette of LCD glass along the closed-loop and open-loop tracks. In this study, the OHS system was implemented by a proposed linear motor to solve encoder installation and the system cost problems of the long distance transfer system. In addition, we utilized a new algorithm of the position detection and a new control algorithm for driving linear motor. The newly developed control algorithm was demonstrated from both a computer simulation and an experimentation, indicating that the highly reliable and speedy transfer system can enhance the LCD panel productivity of commercial OHS system.

  • In this paper we present robust optimal supporting positions for large glass panels used for TFT-LCD monitors when they are stored in a cassette during manufacturing process. The criterion taken is to minimize their maximum deflection. Since they are supported by some supports and have large deformations, contact analysis with a geometrically nonlinear effect is necessary. In addition, the center of a panel can not be positioned exactly as intended and should be considered as uncertainties. To take into account of these effects, the mean and the standard deviation of system response functions, particularly the deflection of the panels, need be calculated. A function approximation moment method (FAMM) is utilized to estimate them. It is a special type of response surface methodology for structural reliability analysis and can be efficiently used to estimate the two stochastic properties, that is, the system performance and the perturbations caused by uncertainties. For a design purpose, they are to be minimized simultaneously by some optimization algorithm to obtain robust optimal supporting positions.

  • tRNA and 7SL RNA based antisense vehicles were prepared by inserting conserved anti-viral and anti-viroid domains. Anti-PVS coat protein leader sequence (ACPL) and antistructural antihairpin domain of PSTVd (AHII) were inserted in tRNA cassette; anti- zing finger domain of PVS, AHII and anti hop latent viroid ribozyme were inserted in 7SL RNA gene isolated from A. thaliana. These constructs were shown to be transcribed both, in in vitro and in in vivo conditions. However, it followed from our work that closely linked position of PoIII reference genes and PoIIII antisense genes within T-DNA lead to the impairment of RNA expression in transgenic plants. To assay in vivo transcription of antisense genes, hairy root potato cultures were established using h. tumefaciens A4-24 bearing both, Ri plasmid and PoIII-promoterless plant expression vectors with antisense RNA genes. Expression of antisense RNA in transgenic potato tissues was proven by specific RT-PCR reactions.

공기 부상방식 이송시스템의 추진 노즐 배치방법에 따른 웨이퍼 이송 속도 평가 (Evaluation of a Wafer Transportation Speed for Propulsion Nozzle Array on Air Levitation System)

  • Automated material handling system is being used as a method to reduce manufacturing cost in the semiconductor and flat panel displays (FPDs) manufacturing process. Those are considering switch-over from the traditional cassette system to single-substrate transfer system to reduce raw materials of stocks in the processing line. In the present study, the wafer transportation speed has been evaluated by numerical and experimental method for three propulsion nozzle array (face, front, rear) in an air levitation system. Test facility for 300 mm wafer was equipped with two control tracks and a transfer track of 1,500mm length. The diameter of propulsion nozzle is 0.8mm and air velocity of wafer propulsion is $50\sim150m/s$. We found that the experimental results of the wafer transportation speed were well agreed with the numerical ones. Namely, the predicted values of the maximum wafer transportation speed are higher than those values of experimental data by 16% and the numerical result of the mean wafer transportation speed is higher than the experimental result within 20%.

In silico Study on the Interaction between P-glycoprotein and Its Inhibitors at the Drug Binding Pocket

  • P-glycoprotein (P-gp) is a member of the ATP-Binding Cassette transporter superfamily and mediates transmembrane efflux of many drugs. Since it is involved in multi-drug resistance activity in various cancer cells, the development of P-gp inhibitor is one of the major concerns in anticancer therapy. Human P-gp protein has at least two "functional" drug binding sites that are called "H" site and "R" site, hence it has multi-binding-specificities. Though the amino acid residues that constitute in drug binding pockets have been proposed by previous experimental evidences, the shapes and the binding poses are not revealed clearly yet. In this study, human P-gp structure was built by homology modeling with available crystal structure of mouse P-gp as a template and docking simulations were performed with inhibitors such as verapamil, hoechst33342, and rhodamine123 to construct the interaction between human P-gp and its inhibitors. The docking simulations were performed 500 times for each inhibitor, and then the interaction frequency of the amino acids at the binding poses was analyzed. With the analysis results, we proposed highly contributing residues that constitute binding pockets of the human P-gp for the inhibitors. Using the highly contributing residues, we proposed the locations and the shapes of verapamil binding site and "R" site, and suggested the possible position of "H" site.

Isolation and characterization of BrMDR1 a novel MDR-type ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter in Brassica rapa L.

  • A cDNA clone encoding a MDR-like ABC transporter protein was isolated from Brassica rapa seedlings, through rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE). This gene (named as Brmdr 1; GenBank accession no.: DQ296184 ) had a total length of 4222 bp with an open reading frame of 3900 bp, and encoded a predicted polypeptide of 1300 amino acids with a molecular weight of 143.1 kDa. The BrMDR1 protein shared 71.0, 62.5, 60.0 and 58.2% identity with other MDR proteins isolated from Arabidopsis thaliana (AAN28720), Coptis japonica (CjMDR), Gossypium hirsutum (GhMDR) and Triticum aestivum (TaMDR) at amino acid level, respectively. Southern blot analysis showed that Brmdr1 was a low-copy gene. Expression pattern analysis revealed that Brmdr1 constitutively expressed in the root, stem petals and stamens, but with lower expression in leaves and open flowers. The domains analysis showed that BrMDR1 protein possessed two transmembrane domains (TMDs) and two nucleotide binding domains (NBDs) arranging in "TMD1-NBD1-TMD2-NBD2" direction, which is consistent with other MDR transporters. Within NBDs three characteristic motifs common to all ABC transporters, "Walker A", "Walker B" and C motif, were found. These results indicate that BrMDR1 is a MDR-like ABC transporter protein that may be involved in the transport and accumulation of secondary metabolites.

천정형 정풍량 시스템에어컨의 적용높이에 따른 실내온열환경 특성 (Comparison of the PMV and ADPI according to Adapted Height of Ceiling-type System Air-conditioner in Large space)

  • PMV and ADPI were numerically investigated in a large space of various ceiling height with air-conditioning systems of two type. The numerical results showed that it is small that the growth of cooling load according to ceiling height rise in a large space without windows. In case of system air-conditioner of duct type embedded in the ceiling, the air mixing effect in indoor is superior to a case installed 4way cassette type in it. For controling thermal comfort at indoor, a system air-conditioner of duct type embedded in the ceiling is little influenced according to ceiling height rise in a large space considered.

척추 및 경막외마취 수술환자에게 시행한 개방적 및 폐쇄적 음악요법의 효과 (The Effects of the Closed and Open Musical Therapies to the Patients with Spinal and Epidural Anesthesia Operation)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this research was to examine the effects of musical therapy and the differences of two different ways of musical therapy: the closed musical therapy using a headset and the open musical therapy using cassette player. Methods: his study was designed with the non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The research cases were 60 spinal and epidural anesthesia surgery patients at K University Hospital in C city from January 3, to March 31, 2005. We measured trait & state anxiety, blood sugar level, vital signs. The group was divided into two: experimental and control group. Results: 1) There are no significant differences between an experimental group and a control group in homogeneity test. 2) We can see that musical therapy during operations stabilizes blood pressure, and reduces sugar level in blood, and decreases psychological anxiety. 3) And the closed musical therapy has more obvious and significant effects than the open musical therapy. Conclusion: We could conclude our study here saying musical therapy during operations is necessary in easing patients' anxieties. More advanced researches on the subject are required to prove validity of the findings in our pilot study.
