건식 필름 적층 성형기에서 고온 롤러의 열해석 (Thermal Analysis of Hot Roller in a Dry Film Laminator)

  • The thermal analysis of the hot roller in a dry film laminator is studied numerically by steady-state two-dimensional heat transfer. In the laminating process for PDP glass or PCB, the temperature distributions in a hot roller are presented considering the effects of the roller rotation speed and the inner and outer radii of the roller. The results show that the temperature distributions are strongly dependent on Peclet number. If Pe number becomes larger, the iso-thermal lines are more concentric about the rotating axis and the temperature difference on the hot roller surface decreases exponentially. It also shows that if the contact angle between the roller and the film becomes smaller the temperature difference becomes smaller. However, the changes of the rollers inner or outer radius have little effect on the temperature difference.

FC-77의 분무냉각 비등열전달 특성에 관한 연구 (Study on Boiling Heat Transfer of FC-77 in Spray Cooling)

  • The boiling heat transfer was experimentally investigated for the FC-77 sprays impacting a square heated test surface in a downward direction. Full cone spray nozzles were employed for the spray cooling experiment, and experiments were made under the test conditions of $Q=3.32{\times}10^{-6}{\sim}2.30{\times}10^{-5}\;m^3/s$, ${\Delta}T_{sub}=20{\sim}70^{\circ}C$. Also, heat transfer measurements were made using the copper block of $10{\times}10\;mm^2$ test area heated by nine cartridge heater. From the experimental results, correlation between the Nusselt number and Reynolds number based on droplet-flow-rate was developed. The correlation shows good predictions with ${\pm}30%$ error for FC-77.

  • 본 연구에서는 핫플레이트를 균일한 표면 온도로 가열시키기 위한 카트리지 히터의 설계를 시도하였다. 이를 위하여 1. 표면 전력밀도 및 전열선 전력밀도에 따른 발열온도 측정 실험 2. 카트리지 히터의 분할 영역과 전열선 권선 비율에 따른 온도 측정 실험을 실시하여 온도분포형 카트리지 히터의 설계 사양을 선정하였다. 또한 이렇게 설계한 카트리지 히터를 직접 제작하여 기존의 표준형 카트리지 히터와의 성능 비교 측정 실험을 실시하여, 본 연구에서 제시한 방법으로 제작한 카트리지 히터의 표면 온도 균일도가 우수함(표면 온도차 ${\leq}1.25[^{\circ}C]$)을 증명하였다.

  • In the last five years, 91 accidents from portable gas ranges and non-refillable metallic gas cartridges have occurred. The gas cylinder installed with a relief valve was developed to prevent an explosive accident from the gas cartridge. In this study it was carried out to evaluate the safety of a gas cylinder mounted with a relief valve which can prevent an explosion. Under the real using condition and the extreme condition the gas cylinder is heated with an electric heater. Simultaneously, the operating pressure is checked and the suitability of releasing flux is evaluated. And the possibility of fire or explosion was tested when the gas was released from the relief valve at the real using condition. Using a numerical simulation method, the diffusion of butane gas released from a relief valve was visualized.

나노유체 액적의 증발에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study of Evaporation of Nanofluid Droplet)

  • 본 연구에서는 산화구리(CuO) 나노분말과 순수 물을 혼합하여 제조한 나노유체를 이용하여 가열된 고체표면에 있어서 나노유체 액적의 증발특성에 대한 실험적 연구를 수행하였다. 실험결과로부터 가열된 표면에서 나노유체 액적의 증발속도는 순수 물 액적보다 증발속도가 약간 증가하는 경향이 있음을 알 수 있었으며, 이는 나노유체에 포함된 나노입자가 유체의 열전도도를 향상시켜 고체 표면에서 액적으로의 열전달이 촉진되었기 때문인 것으로 판단된다. 또한 고체의 표면조도가 커질수록 액적의 증발속도가 약간 증가하였으며, 이는 고체의 표면조도가 커질수록 고체-액체의 접촉 면적이 증가하여 열전달이 촉진되었기 때문인 것으로 추정된다.

수직면에서의 비등 열전달에 대한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Investigation of the Boiling Heat Transfer on the Vertical Square Surface)

  • An experimental study was carried out to identify the various regimes of natural convective pool boiling and to determine the boiling heat transfer curve and Critical Heat Flux(CHF) on a vertical square surface having a 70mm width and a 70mm height. The heater made of copper block with embedded cartridge heaters is submerged in a water tank at atmospheric pressure. As the heat flux increases from 100kW/㎡ to 1.2MW/㎡, the heat transfer regime migrates from the nucleate boiling to the film boiling. The boiling heat transfer data are fitted by Rohsenow type correlation. An explosive vapor generation on the heated surface, whose size and frequency are characterized by the heat flux, is visualized using a high speed digital imaging system.

Nucleate Boiling Heat Transfer Coefficients of Mixtures Containing Propane, Isobutane and HFC134a

  • Nucleate pool boiling heat transfer coefficient (HTCs) were measured with one nonazeotropic mixture of propane/isobutane and two azeotropic mixtures of HFC134a/isobutane and propane/HFC 134a. All data were taken at the liquid pool temperature of $7^{\circ}C$ on a horizontal plain tube of 19.0mm outside diameter with heat fluxes of $10\;kW/m^2\;to\;80kW/m^2$ with an interval of $10\;kW/m^2$ in the decreasing order of heat flux. The measurements were made through electrical heating by a cartridge heater. The nonazeotropic mixture of propane/isobutane showed a reduction of HTCs as much as 41% from the ideal values. The azeotropic mixtures of HFC134a/isobutane and propane/HFC134a showed a reduction of HTCs as much as 44% from the ideal values at compositions other than azeotropic compositions. At azeotropic compositions, however, the HTCs were even higher than the ideal values due to the increase in the vapor pressure. For all mixtures, the reduction in heat transfer was greater with larger gliding temperature difference. Stephan and Korner's and lung et al's correlations predicted the HTCs of mixtures with a mean deviation of 11%. The largest mean deviation occurred at the azeotropic compositions of HFC134a/isobutane and propane/HFC134a.

Unsteady Wet Steam Flow Measurements in a Low-Pressure Test Steam Turbine

  • An experimental study is conducted for unsteady wet steam flow in a four-stage low-pressure test steam turbine. The measurements are carried out at outlets of the last two stages by using a newly developed fast response aerodynamic probe. This FRAP-HTH probe (Fast Response Aerodynamic Probe - High Temperature Heated) has a miniature high-power cartridge heater with an active control system to heat the probe tip, allowing it to be applied to wet steam measurements. The phase-locked average results obtained with a sampling frequency of 200 kHz clarify the flow characteristics, such as the blade wakes and secondary vortexes, downstream from the individual rotational blades in the wet steam environment.

열감지인광온도계를 이용한 물에 잠긴 물체 표면 온도장의 비접촉식 측정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Non-contact Surface Temperature Field Measurement of a Body Immerged in Water Using Thermographic Phosphor Thermometry)

  • Thermographic phosphor (TP) thermometry is a noncontact optical measurement method and has been applied in many fields such as combustion and heat transfer. However, due to the limitation of bonding technology and measurement method, most TP thermometry studies were conducted only on the air environment with water-soluble binders. In this paper, a temperature measurement technology in water using TP is proposed by coatings of manganese activated magnesium fluorogermanate (Mg4FGeO6:Mn4+, MFG) with Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). Four MFG-PDMS coatings with different thicknesses were prepared. The lifetime of MFG was not affected by the thickness of the coating as a result of the experiment and analysis of phosphor intensity using a photomultiplier tube. To measure the surface temperature field of an immerged body in water, a cylinder-type cartridge heater was coated with MFG doped PDMS. Transient surface temperature field was successfully measured even the initial temperature is higher than the boiling point of water.
