This study investigated the characteristics of elementary science-gifted education teachers' reflection on their science teaching. To do this, the reflective journals of 33 elementary science-gifted education teachers were analyzed in terms of 'productive reflection'. The results revealed that most of reflective journals included the aspects of 'instructional strategies and instruction for science-gifted education (100.0%)' and 'science-gifted students (90.9%)'. 'Curriculum for science-gifted education (42.4%)' was also frequently included although fewer than two previous aspects. However, 'subject matter knowledge' and 'assessment in science-gifted education' were included less than 10%. The mean score of the inclusion scores was 2.48 on a scale of 5 points and was not significantly correlated with the teaching careers in science-gifted education. 18.2% of the journals showed no integrations, which were unproductive reflection. 66.7% of the journals integrated only two aspects and 24.2% of the journals integrated three aspects. Only 6.1% of the journals integrated four aspects and no journals integrated all five aspects. Especially, the integrations between 'science-gifted students (81.8%)' or 'instructional strategies and instruction for science-gifted education (81.8%)' and the other aspects were most frequent. The integrations between 'Curriculum for science-gifted education (30.3%)' and the other aspects were also frequently included. However, the integrations between 'subject matter knowledge (6.1%)' or 'assessment in science-gifted education (0.0%)' and the other aspects were hardly included. The mean score of the integration scores was 2.12 on a scale of 5 points and was not significantly correlated with the teaching careers in science-gifted education.

This preliminary study examined the degree programs in data science at the School of Information in the States. The focus of this study was the data science degrees offered at the School of Information awarded by the 64 Library and Information Science (LIS) programs accredited by the American Library Association (ALA) in 2022. In addition, this study examined the degrees, majors, minors, specialized tracks, and certificates in data science, as well as the potential careers after earning a data science degree. Overall, eight Schools of Information (iSchools) offered 12 data science degrees. Data science courses at the School of Information focus on topics such as introduction to data science, information retrieval, data mining, database, data and humanities, machine learning, metadata, research methods, data analysis and visualization, internship/capstone, ethics and security, user, policy, and curation and management. Most schools did not offer traditional LIS courses. After earning the data science degree in the School of Information, the potential careers included data scientists, data engineers and data analysts. The researcher hopes the findings of this study can be used as a starting point to discuss the directions of data science programs from the perspectives of the information field, specifically the degrees, majors, minors, specialized tracks and certificates in data science.

This study aims to help elementary school teachers increase their knowledge about the changes in the positions of the sun and moon during the day and the first time the moon observation begins in the Earth and Space section of the Earth and the Moon. The survey questions were grouped into four categories, namely, textbook explanation, inquiry activities, achievement of learning goals, and other opinions. The perception of each question differed according to advanced science majors and teaching careers and experiences of this unit. In addition, understanding the diverse views of the participants using descriptive questions was possible. The study recruited 67 teachers working at an elementary school in Gyeonggi-do. The conclusion is as follows. First, the teachers exhibited similar positive and negative perceptions about the description of the textbook on the changes in the positions of the sun and moon during the day. Second, the study found that majority of teachers used alternative methods when guiding students regarding the change in the positions. This trend was not correlated with the sun and the moon, and the study observed no difference in advanced majors and teaching careers and experience of this unit. Third, the majority of teachers responded that they could achieve their learning goals through this learning. However, many teachers complained of various difficulties in guiding students about the lesson, and the majority alternative methods. The results demonstrated the perception of teachers that students can achieve learning goals through alternative methods without direct observation.
A significant number of cases of illness has been attributed to food consumption in restaurants, and as the number of meals eaten away from home continues to rise, the potential for large-scale, foodborne illness outbreaks will continue to increase. It is critical that hospitality and culinary arts students preparing for careers as professionals in foodservice establishments or restaurants have an appropriate understanding of food safety. The level of food safety knowledge was similar between hospitality and culinary arts students, and an analysis of 266 questionnaires indicated that specific areas, such as hand washing, cross contamination in refrigerator, reheating leftovers, refrigeration of cooked food within two hours, proper temperature of food storage, using of thermometers to monitor temperatures, proper egg handling, and possible food borne illness caused by fruits, should be the primary focus of educational resources. Student respondents showed a higher awareness level of responsibility in their roles for food safety, but more emphasis needs to be given to the correct understanding of food safety issues. Hospitality and culinary arts educators can use this precise information to develop food safety education materials and programs to assist in the prevention of foodborne illness and to knowledgeably educate their graduates about food safety.

This thesis suggests how to design and implement an Android smart phone application which can perform self check or safety inspection of lifts effectively. The safety checks of lifts go in the way that inspectors check the lifts' conditions generally and record manually following a form at the moment. This thesis analyses lift maintenance industry and introduces how to design a system to proceed effective self check using a smart phone with Android OS. By using a smart phone to check lifts, we can have advantages to improve the quality of self check and maintain careers establishing information database about safety items.
This paper presents the results and gained experiences from the Project Based Learning (PBL) of magnetic component design within a Power Electronics Course. PBL was applied during the laboratory exercises through a design-project task based on a boost converter test board. The students were asked to calculate the main boost converter's circuit parameters' capacitor C and inductor L, and then additionally required to design and build-up the inductor L, in order to meet the project's goals. The whole PBL process relied on ideas from the CDIO (Conceive, Design, Implement, Operate), where the students are encouraged to consider the whole system's process, in order to obtain hands-on experience. PBL is known to be a motivating and problem-centered teaching method that gives students the ability to transfer their acquired scientific knowledge into industrial practice. It has the potential to help students cope with demanding complexities in the field, and those problems they will face in their future careers.
