  • 지난 100 여 년 동안 지상 대기와 해수면 온도는 온실기체의 증가로 인해 0.3~0.6 $^{\circ}C$ 가량 상승하였다는 것이 확인되었다 (IPCC, 1995). IPCC의 예측에 따르면 2030년경에는 $CO_2$ 농도가 산업혁명 이전의 두 배에 달하게 되며, 지구 평균기온이 1.5~4.5 $^{\circ}C$ 상승하여, 해수면이 20 cm 정도 상승할 것으로 보고 있다. 그리고 2100년경에는 기온이 약 3~6.5 $^{\circ}C$, 해수면은 약 65 cm 정도 상승할 것으로 예측하고 있다 (IPCC, 1995).   • This study aims to devise and analyze a power generation system combining the solid oxide fuel cell and oxy-fuel combustion technology. The fuel cell operates at an elevated pressure, a constituting a SOFC/gas turbine hybrid system. Oxygen is extracted from the high pressure cathode exit gas using ion transport membrane technology and supplied to the oxy-fuel power system. The entire system generates much more power than the fuel cell only system due to increased fuel cell voltage and power addition from oxy-fuel system. More than one third of the power comes out of the oxy-fuel system. The system efficiency is also higher than that of the fuel cell only system. Recovering most of the generated carbon dioxide is major advantage of the system.

  • 연소전 조건에서 물리적 흡수제로 사용되는 PEG를 이용하여 이산화탄소 흡수특성을 조사하였다. 회분식 기-액 평형반응기를 이용하여 PEG분자량, 흡수반응 온도와 압력 등의 다양한 조건에서 흡수능을 측정하였다. 실험결과 PEG의 경우 분자량이 작을수록 흡수능이 뛰어났으며 흡수반응온도가 낮을수록 흡수능이 우수하였다.

Simple Iysine sensing system using $CO_{2}$ electrode and enzyme immobilized to CNBr-activated sepharose 4B

  • A potentiometric L-lysine-selective sensor is described for the direct determination of lysine. The sensor system is based on a carbon dioxide gas sensing electrode and an L-lysine decarboxylase immobilized to CNBr-activated sepharose 4B. A highly selective L-lysine sensor has been prepared with immobilizing enzyme slurry put into reaction buffer solution. The optimum conditions for the measurement were evaluated by various experiments. This sensor exhibits a linear response to L-lysine concentrations from $10^{-4}M$ to $10^{-1}M$. Response time of this lysine sensor is shorter than 30secs and the immobilized enzyme slurry is stable over one year.

Appraisal of Building Energy Systems considering Environment Constraint Conditions

  • This study aims to find out sector effects with the appraisal of building energy systems of urban ecosystem considering cost effects and environmental constraints condition such as climatic change factors including $CO_2$ gas which are not dealt in the institutional boundary as components standards and performance standards on energy performance of each part of a building applied on heavy energy spending buildings at present. The results of the appraisal of building energy systems shows that the existing building energy systems are not enough to fulfil the environmental condition under the environmental constraints supposing QELROs(Quantified Emission Limitation and Reduction Objectives) of carbon-dioxide exhaust. Henceforth, it is needed to fulfill the environmental criteria required by the Climatic Change Agreement for improving the adiabatic performance of each part of a building and active using of the solar energy.

  • This paper introduces the methode to improve the indoor air quality for Korea Tilting train express(TTX). TTX operates more than 80,000km in commercial line and in the near future service is expected. To improve air quality effective heat and cooling system is proposed. Also according to the ministry of environment guide line, major factor component are selected to Co2(carbon dioxide) and Pm10(particle matter). The database of the vital factor was accumulated by the various case of operation environment. Finally, optimal air condition controling device is developed and installed.

  • We must stabilize quickly increasing waste matters in urban life and livestock industry. Biogas including landfill gas and digester gas is byproduct of anaerobic decomposition of organic waste matter and contains 40%-70% methane, which can be used for energy purposes. Utilization of biogas reduce the emission of methane into the atmosphere to minimize greenhouse effect and the carbon dioxide (CO2) emitted when biogas is converted to energy has been taken out of the atmosphere by growing plant. Recently, bioenergy is world-widely noticeable as all contributing to the greenhouse effect. This paper presents development process of a biogas engine for cogeneration system and results of application to digester gas and landfill gas in site. The biogas engine is a dual fuel engine operated on biogas with a diesel pilot. At present, the engine can substitute biogas for diesel fuel up to 85%. but it can be said that there is a possibility of improvement in performance.

  • The worldwide annual production of polyolefins amounted to 60 million tons in 2000. During the process, 1-2 wt% of the olefin monomers have been emitted and flared into the air, causing the huge energy consumption and severe carbon dioxide emission. Recently, membrane process has been proved to be the most competitive among other separation processes in terms of cost of equipments, energy consumption and safety in this application. The performance of membrane process highly depends on the membrane properties and thus, it is very important to develop good membrane materials and composite membranes. We prepared PMDS dense and composite membranes and studied basic permeation behaviors of a series of olefins(ethylene, propylene, 1 -butylene), nitrogen and hydrogen as model gases.

  • $CO_2$를 이용하여 제조된 PPC-PVL과 PVL은 부산시 을숙도매립장의 통양에서 분리된 Stenotrophomonas maltophilia에 의해 일부 생분해되었다. 생분해는 FTIR로 확인되었으며, 28일간의 배양에서 PPC-PVL의 중량은 $6.6\%$, PVL은 $12\%$감소하였다.
