CFRP 복합재의 적층방향에 대한 마찰 및 마모 특성 (Friction and Wear Characteristics of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Composites against Lay-up Orientation)

  • This paper is the study on dry sliding wear behavior of carbon fiber reinforced epoxy matrix composites against lay-up orientation. Tests were investigated on the effect of the lay-up orientation, fiber sliding direction, load and sliding velocity when circumstance keep continuously at $21^{\circ}C$, 60%RH. Pin-on-disk dry sliding wear tests for each experimental condition were carried out with a carbon fiber reinforced plastic pin on stainless steel disk in order to search the friction and wear characteristics. The wear rates and friction coefficients against the stainless steel counterpart were experimentally determined and the wear mechanisms were microscopically observed. The effect on friction and wear behavior are observed differently, according to various conditions. When sliding took place against counterpart, the highest wear resistance and the lowest friction coefficient were observed in the $[0]_{24s}$ lay-up orientation at anti-parallel direction.

Thermostable Adsorption Filter Immobilized with Super Activated Carbons by Quinoline Soluble Isotropic Pitch Binder (I-a Novel Adsorption Filter)

  • Among other filters such as light filter, wave filter, air filter, ultra filter and filter paper, a novel adsorption filter from thermostable polyester nonwoven fabrics immobilized with functional super activated carbon by means of quinoline soluble, activateable isotropic pitch binder were developed in this study. The activated carbon precursor is available in the market branded as coconut shell based activated carbon(CCS-AC) produced by Dongyang Carbon Co. Ltd. BET-surface area of this precursor was $1,355\;m^2/g$, after KOH-activation it increased over $2,970\;m^2/g$ and was named as super activated carbon. In the preliminary research, this precursor was impregnated with $PdCl_2$(0.188 wt%) $KMnO_4$(3 wt%) and redox-agent(CuCl2, 0.577 wt%) in order to promote TOF up to 100/h and Selectivity up 99% and patented as a functional AC for the ethylene adsorption. The enhancement of the isotropic pitch binder to the AC-immobilized adsorption filter was BET-surface area upgraded by $266\;m^2/g$ and promoted the Iodine- and MB-adsorption by 1.4 times, respectively and also micro pore wide ranges < $5{\AA}{\sim}30\;{\AA}$ >.

변수 변경 및 재료적 특성에 따른 철골 구조물의 탄소 배출량 절감 효과 분석 (The Effect Analysis of Reducing Carbon Emission by Design Parameter Change and Material Properties)

  • The study used the whole-life carbon assessment method to conduct a thorough carbon-neutral evaluation of a standard steel structure. To further assess carbon emissions, 11 design-changed models were evaluated, with changes made to the span between beams and columns. The results of the carbon emission assessment showed savings of approximately 13.1% by implementing the stage of the beyond life cycle. Additionally, the evaluation of carbon emissions through design changes revealed a difference of up to 42.2%. These findings confirmed that recycling and structural design changes can significantly reduce carbon emissions by up to 48.6%, making it an effective means of achieving carbon neutrality. It is therefore necessary to apply the stage of beyond life cycle and structural change to reduce carbon emissions.

  • 카본슬러리 연료 제조 시 카본의 분산안정성에 미치는 공정변수의 영향을 조사하였다. 카본슬러리연료의 분산안정성은 위치별 입도분석, 카본함량 분석, 그리고 원심분리 후 분산상태 관찰을 통해서 측정하였다. 여러 종류의 첨가제를 적용한 결과, NB463S84 사용시 분산성과 분산안정성이 가장 우수한 것을 알 수 있었다. NB463S84와 비슷한 작용기를 가지는 PIBSI를 합성하였으며, 이를 카본슬러리 연료에 적용하여 유사한 분산안정도를 얻었다. 끝으로 g 규모에서 얻은 제조 조건을 kg 규모 제조에 적용하여 카본슬러리 연료의 실용화 가능성을 확인하였다.

  • This work presents that carbon dioxide, which is a main contributor to the global warming effect, could be utilized as a selective oxidant in the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene. The dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene over alumina-supported vanadium-antimony oxide catalyst has been studied under different atmospheres such as inert nitrogen, steam, oxygen or carbon dioxide as diluent or oxidant. Among them, the addition of carbon dioxide gave the highest styrene yield (up to 82%) and styrene selectivity (up to 97%) along with stable activity. Carbon dioxide could play a beneficial role of a selective oxidant in the improvement of the catalytic behavior through the oxidative pathway.

탄소나노튜브 및 그래핀 나노플레이트 폴리프로필렌 복합재 필름 압출 및 물성 평가 (A Study on Processing-Structure-Property Relationships of Extruded Carbon Nanomaterial-Polypropylene Composite Films)

  • 본 연구에서는 폴리프로필렌과 다양한 탄소나노소재를 사용하여 제조한 복합재의 압출방향 및 권취속도에 따른 기계적 물성과 결정화도에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 폴리프로필렌에 탄소나노소재를 균일하게 분산시키기 위해 미분쇄기에 폴리프로필렌 분말(<700 ${\mu}m$)과 탄소나노소재를 혼합한 후 나노복합재 필름 제조를 위해 압출기를 사용하였다. 나노복합재 필름의 결정화도를 분석하기 위해 differential scanning calorimetry를 이용하였다. 기계적 물성을 인장시험을 통해서 측정한 후 순수 폴리프로필렌 물성과 비교하였고, 압출 시 필름 권취속도에 대한 나노복합재 결정화도의 차이를 확인하였다. 탄소나노소재를 첨가함으로써 고분자 필름의 기계적 물성이 향상됨을 확인하였고, 그에 따른 결정화도 역시 증가하는 것을 확인하였다. 반면, 권취속도가 증가 할수록 압출물의 냉각속도도 역시 증가함으로써 결정화도가 오히려 감소함을 확인하였다.

카본아미노실리카 블랙 고성능감수제(CASB-SP)를 사용한 블랙콘크리트의 Mock-up Test 및 현장적용 (Mock up test and Field Application of Black Concrete Applying Superplasticizer containing Carbon Amino Silica Black)

  • 최근에는 생활수준 향상으로 인간친화적인 공간창조 등 의장적인 측면에서 다양한 요구가 나타나고 있다. 본 연구에서는 무주태권도원의 2개의 블랙콘크리트 교량에 기존연구에서 얻어진 카본아미노실리카블랙 고성능 감수제(CASB-SP)를 적용하기 위한 Mock up test와 현장적용사항에 대하여 보고하고자 하였다. Mock up test 결과 일반적인 품질 항목은 양호하게 나타났고, 백화방지와 관련한 발수제 도포는 에폭시계가 가장 양호한 것으로 나타나 현장적용에 활용하였다. 현장적용 결과 역시 기초적 특성은 모두 양호 하였고, 검정색 색상구현도 양호하였는데, 기존의 카본블랙 분말 색소를 이용하는 경우보다 시공성, 품질 모두 양호하면서 30 % 정도의 저렴한 경제성도 확인할 수 있었다.

Corrosion Inhibition of Carbon Steel in Sulfuric Acid Using Cymbopogon citratus as a Green Corrosion Inhibitor

  • The objective of this study was to determine whether Cymbopogon citratus extract as a corrosion inhibitor from natural tropical resources could prevent corrosion of carbon steel in sulfuric acid solution. Inhibitory action of this extract was investigated using electrochemical methods such as potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Those methods revealed corrosion rate, efficiency of inhibition, and adsorptions isotherm values when the extract was added to the sulfuric acid solution at concentration up to 500 ppm with various immersion time at ambient temperature. Results revealed that higher concentration of the extract and longer immersion time decreased the corrosion rate of carbon steel whereas the inhibition efficiency of the extract was increased up to 97.25%. The value of charge transfer resistance was increased significantly by adding the extract at concentration up to 500 ppm with an immersion time of 60 minutes. The type of the extract was a mixed inhibitor. It could inhibit the corrosion process in both anodic and cathodic sides electrochemically. Results of this study suggest that the mechanism of adsorption on the surface of carbon steel is related to Langmuir adsorption isotherm.

Adsorption and Thermal Regeneration of Toluene and Benzene on the Fixed Bed Packed with Activated Carbon and Activated Carbon Fiber

  • The characteristics of adsorption and desorption of benzene and toluene were investigated at a fixed bed packed with the activated carbon and activated carbon fiber. Through breakthrough experiments under various feed concentration conditions, it was found that the slope of mass transfer zone and the tailing in the breakthrough curves were different from the feed conditions due to different heats of adsorption. In hot nitrogen desorption, the regeneration time and mass transfer zone of the toluene desorption curve were longer than those of the benzene desorption curve because of the difference in adsorption affinity. With an increase in the regeneration temperature, the height of roll-up and the sharpness of desorption curves increased but the regeneration times decreased. The adsorption capacities of the activated carbon and activated carbon fiber after three-time thermal regenerations decreased about 25% and 37% for benzene and 18% and 25% for toluene, respectively. To investigate the effect of the regeneration temperature on the energetic efficiency, the characteristic desorption temperatures of toluene and benzene were investigated by calculating purge gas consumption and temperature.
