차량용 모바일 앱의 분류: 융복합 관점의 앱 개발을 위해 (A Classification of Car-related Mobile Apps: For App Development from a Convergence Perspective)

  • 다수의 앱 개발업체가 사업에 어려움을 겪고 있는 상황에서 수익을 높일 수 있는 분야로 본 연구에서는 자동차용 앱을 선정하고, 자동차를 운전하거나 관리하는 용도로 쓰이는 모바일 앱을 분석하여 분류하였다. 총 697개의 자동차용 앱(애플의 앱 스토어에서 273개와 구글 플레이 스토어에서 424개)을 분류한 결과 8개 집단으로 나뉘었는데, 대부분 차량 뉴스 및 정보(28%), 위치 서비스(23%), 대여 서비스(15%), 안전/효율 운전(12%) 집단에 속하였다. 나머지는 매매, 운전자 소통, 유지보수 관리, 경비 관리용 이었다. 하지만, 다수의 앱들이 주 기능면에서 너무 비슷한 경우가 많았고, 단지 소수의 앱만이 둘 이상의 집단에 속할 만큼 다양한 기능을 제공하고 있었다. 분류 체계의 실용성을 높이기 위하여 분류자간 신뢰성 검사를 두 번에 걸쳐 실시한 결과 Cohen's Kappa 값이 0.886과 0.828로 수용할 만한 수준이었다. 본 연구의 결과는 자동차용 앱 개발업체가 기존 앱이 제공하지 않는 기능을 발굴내거나 다기능을 복합한 앱을 개발하는데 유용할 것이며, 향후 유망 앱을 찾기 위한 방안을 연구할 필요가 있다.

온라인-오프라인의 연결 그리고 인공지능 : 자동차 모바일 네비게이션 앱 활용 맥락 (Online-Offline Connectivity and Artificial Intelligence : Car Navigation App)

  • Cars have become a necessity in modern life. It is widely used to transport people or products to a destination conveniently. However, the addition of a navigation service that provides route information and more makes driving more convenient and safer. Recent developments in the mobile app ecosystem encourages people to adopt not only an installation-type car navigation, but also a mobile app navigation, supporting connected car concepts. It should be noted that mobile apps with mobile Internet can be a significant linkage between information acquired online and offline business. This study demonstrates the impact of the app use experience for a driver in the context of applying artificial intelligence service. As a result, the introduction of artificial intelligence services has a statistically significant moderating effect on the use of mobile navigation apps. This seminal research is valuable as it evaluates the role of artificial intelligence applied to mobile navigation apps.

  • 4차 산업혁명의 도래에 따라 물류 스타트업이 주도하는 생활물류 서비스가 급성장하고 있다. 이들은 물류 틈새시장에서 기존 물류 기업들과는 차별화되는 고객의 편의성 제고에 중점을 둔 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 모바일 앱을 구축하여 온디맨드, O2O(online to offline), 편의물류, 역물류, 라스트 마일 배송을 구현하고 있다. 물류 스타트업 주도로 소화물뿐만 아니라, 음식배달, 원룸 이사, 세탁물 배송, 출장 세차, 출장 자동차 정비 등 생활물류 서비스가 성장하고 있다. 생활물류 스타트업의 주요 성공요인 중 하나는 사용성이 높은 모바일 앱을 구축하여 고객의 충성도를 높이는 일이다. 평가는 개선을 위한 출발점이지만 모바일 앱의 사용성은 모바일 폰이 가진 특성 때문에 웹사이트와는 차별화된 평가기준을 마련하고 평가되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 사용성 테스트 방법을 통하여 국내 대표적인 생활물류 모바일 앱의 사용성을 평가한 후 그 시사점과 개선방안을 제안한다. 그리고 구글 플레이의 최상위 인기 앱과 디자인 관점에서 비교한다.

Security Threat Analysis for Remote Monitoring and Control Functions of Connected Car Services

  • The connected car services are one of the most widely used services in the Internet of Things environment, and they provide numerous services to existing vehicles by connecting them through networks inside and outside the vehicle. However, although vehicle manufacturers are developing services considering the means to secure the connected car services, concerns about the security of the connected car services are growing due to the increasing number of attack cases. In this study, we reviewed the research related to the connected car services that have been announced so far, and we identified the threats that may exist in the connected car services through security threat modeling to improve the fundamental security level of the connected car services. As a result of performing the test to the applications for connected car services developed by four manufacturers, we found that all four companies' applications excessively requested unnecessary permissions for application operation, and the apps did not obfuscate the source code. Additionally, we found that there were still vulnerabilities in application items such as exposing error messages and debugging information.

Development of Augmented Reality Walking Navigation App using Dijkstra Algorithm

  • There are a variety of apps that are finding their way. And in car navigation, we launched a product that reflects Augmented Reality technology this year. However, existing apps have problems. It is implemented in 2D or 3D, has a large error range because it has been modified in most vehicles, is not updated in real time, and car augmented reality navigation is a vehicle, and a separate device is required, etc. In this study, we implemented a smartphone app for walking directions using augmented reality, and made it possible to intuitively use a route service from a user 's location to a destination. The Dijkstra algorithm is applied to calculate the shortest path to solve the problem of finding the route with the least cost. By using this application, it is possible to use the route search service even in a data-free environment, to solve the inconvenience of the language barrier, and to update in real time, so that the latest information can be always maintained. In the future, we want to develop an app that can be commercialized by using a character in the path to promote it.

A Feasibility Study on Adopting Individual Information Cognitive Processing as Criteria of Categorization on Apple iTunes Store

  • Purpose More than 7.6 million mobile apps could be approved on both Apple iTunes Store and Google Play. For managing those existed Apps, Apple Inc. established twenty-four primary categories, as well as Google Play had thirty-three primary categories. However, all of their categorizations have appeared more and more problems in managing and classifying numerous apps, such as app miscategorized, cross-attribution problems, lack of categorization keywords index, etc. The purpose of this study focused on introducing individual information cognitive processing as the classification criteria to update the current categorization on Apple iTunes Store. Meanwhile, we tried to observe the effectiveness of the new criteria from a classification process on Apple iTunes Store. Design/Methodology/Approach A research approach with four research stages were performed and a series of mixed methods was developed to identify the feasibility of adopting individual information cognitive processing as categorization criteria. By using machine-learning techniques with Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency and Singular Value Decomposition, keyword lists were extracted. By using the prior research results related to car app's categorization, we developed individual information cognitive processing. Further keywords extracting process from the extracted keyword lists was performed. Findings By TF-IDF and SVD, keyword lists from more than five thousand apps were extracted. Furthermore, we developed individual information cognitive processing that included a categorization teaching process and learning process. Three top three keywords for each category were extracted. By comparing the extracted results with prior studies, the inter-rater reliability for two different methods shows significant reliable, which proved the individual information cognitive processing to be reliable as criteria of categorization on Apple iTunes Store. The updating suggestions for Apple iTunes Store were discussed in this paper and the results of this paper may be useful for app store hosts to improve the current categorizations on app stores as well as increasing the efficiency of app discovering and locating process for both app developers and users.

Sharing Economy with the Use of Car-Sharing Applications: An Empirical Study in Vietnam

  • The study aims to test the model of Yang et al. (2017) for the overall assessment of the transportation sector in the sharing economy and add some new elements on the benefits of customer loyalty from some previous studies that were not mentioned in Yang's model. This study will take examples from the two big brands of car-sharing apps in the sharing economy in Vietnam - Uber, and Grab. This research focuses on customer loyalty in the sharing economy with Uber and Grab as the transport sector in Ho Chi Minh City. Based on the survey data of 380 customers in Vietnam, the research results show that two independent factors positively impact commitment and satisfaction: social benefits and economic benefits. Simultaneously, economic benefit has a positive effect on satisfaction while trust benefit has a negative effect on commitment. Finally, commitment has a positive impact on customer loyalty in the sharing economy. As a result, companies in the sharing economy can identify which are the key factors that strongly influence customer satisfaction, commitment, trust, and loyalty to help managers to devise the appropriate solutions for promoting the strengths or overcoming limitations to contribute to perfecting and improving the quality of the company's services.

  • IoT should be considered security risk environments such as various platforms and services including smart devices that can be mounted on household electric appliances, healthcare, car, and heterogeneous networks that are connected to the Internet, cloud services and mobile Apps.. In this paper, we provide analysis of new security threats, caused by open-platform of IoT and sensors via the Internet. Also, we present the key recovery mechanism that is applied to IoT. It results to have compatibility with given research, reduces network overhead, and performs key recovery without depending on key escrow agencies or authorized party.

Tall Buildings and Elevator Technologies: Improving Energy Efficiency

  • The massive increase in elevator usage and a severe demand for energy efficiency have prompted manufacturers to develop various innovative technologies, including AC and gearless motors, machine-room-less (MRL) technologies, regenerative drives, elevator ropes, and LED lighting. In addition, manufacturers are providing software solution systems such as destination dispatching systems, people flow solutions, standby mode, and predictive maintenance applications. Future technologies include electromagnetic levitation, circulating multi-car elevator systems, robotization, and drones. This article outlines elevators' technological advancements. It discusses how to harness new technologies and apply them to aging, modern, and future buildings.

자동차 금융 애플리케이션의 인터랙션 모드에 따른 UX 라이팅 실험 연구 : 리스 서비스에서 전문용어 사용을 중심으로 (An Experimental Study of UX Writing based on Interaction mode in the Automotive Financial Application : Focusing on Terminology Use In Lease service)

  • 금융 서비스 앱에서 챗봇의 도입과 전문용어 풀어 쓰기가 일반화되고 있으나, 자동차 구매자들을 위한 금융 앱은 여전히 용어 이해가 어렵고 내용이 딱딱하여 만족도가 낮은 상태이다. 이 연구는 자동차 금융 앱에서 대화형 챗봇 인터랙션 모드와 전문 용어 풀어쓰기 방식이 사용자 경험에 미치는 효과를 검증하였다. 사용자 인터랙션 채널 유형(챗봇 vs 일반)과 전문 용어 사용 여부를 조건으로 자동차 리스 견적 태스크에 대한 프로토타입을 제작하고, 2 x 2 실험 조사를 수행하여 친근감, 이해 용이성, 신뢰, 정확성 인식의 차이를 측정하였다. 그 결과, 대화형 인터랙션 기반의 챗봇 모드는 메뉴 인터랙션 기반의 일반 모드에 비해 친근감이 더 높아지는 효과를 보였으며, 전문 용어 풀어쓰기는 이해 용이성과 친근감에 유의미한 영향을 미쳤다. 그러나, 신뢰와 정확성에는 두 조건 모두 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 또한, 모든 변인에서 두 조건 간 상호작용 효과는 발견되지 않았다. 이 연구의 의의는 챗봇 상담 모드의 고객 경험 효과와 금융 서비스 특성에 따른 전문용어 풀어쓰기 효과에 대한 정량적 검증과 실무적 제안을 제시한 점이다.
