A primary concern of national R&D plans is to encourage technological development in private firms and research institutes. For effective R&D planning and program support, it is necessary to assess technological impacts that may exist both directly and indirectly among technology areas within the whole technology system; however, previous studies analyze only direct impacts among technologies, failing to capture both direct and indirect impacts. Therefore, this study proposes an approach based on decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) to identifying specific characteristics of technology areas, such as technological impact and degree of cause or effect (DCE). The method employs patent co-classification analysis to construct a technological knowledge flow matrix. Next, to capture both direct and indirect effects among technology areas, it incorporates the modified DEMATEL process into patent analysis. The method helps analysts assess the technological impact and DCE of technology areas, and observe their evolving trajectories over time, thereby identifying relevant technological implications. This study presents a case study using Korean patents registered during 2003-2012. We expect our analysis results to be helpful input for R&D planning, as well as the suggested approach to be incorporated into processes for formulating national R&D plans.

The effects on the size selectivity for Muraenesox cinereus caught by coastal longline fishery were investigated in the southern coast of Korea from June 2 to 17, 2019. Four sizes of hooks (sizes 15, 17, 18 and 19) and two sizes of bait (sizes 9.9 g and 18.3 g) were tested in seven and three fishing trials, respectively. Such results revealed that smaller hook and bait size improved capture efficiency. And our results demonstrate that there was no significant size selectivity effect for hook size (ANOVA, p>0.05), but small bait improved on catching smaller fish (ANOVA, p<0.05).
CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) is considered as the most promising interim solution to deal with the greenhouse gas such as $CO_2$ responsible for global warming. Even though carefully chosen geologic formations are known to contain stored gas for a long time period, there are potential risks of leakage. Up to now, applicable risk assessment procedures for the leakage of $CO_2$ are not available. This study presents a basis for risk analysis applicable to a complex geologic storage system. It starts with the classification of potential leakage pathways. Receptors and the leakage effect on them are identified and quantified. Then, a fault tree is constructed, which yields the minimum cut set (i.e., the most vulnerable leakage pathway) and quantifies the probability of the leakage risk through the cut set. The methodology will provide a tool for risk assessment in a CCS project. The outcomes of the assessment will not only ensure the safety of the CCS system but also offer a reliable and efficient monitoring plan.
Nanoporous carbons with a high specific surface area were prepared directly from thermoplastic acrylic resin as carbon precursor and MgO powder as template by carbonization over the temperature range, $500-1000^{\circ}C$. The effect of the carbonization temperature on the pore structure and $CO_2$ adsorption capacity of the obtained porous carbon was examined. The textural properties and morphology of the porous carbon materials were analyzed by $N_2/-196^{\circ}C$ and $CO_2/0^{\circ}C$ adsorption/desorption isotherms, SEM and TEM. The $CO_2$ adsorption capacity of the prepared porous carbon was measured at $25^{\circ}C$ and 1 bar and 30 bar. The specific surface area increased from 237 to $1251m^2/g$, and the total pore volumes increased from 0.242 to $0.763cm^3/g$ with increasing the carbonization temperature. The carbonization temperature acts mainly by generating large narrow micropores and mesopores with an average pore size dependent on the level of carbonization of the MgO-templated nanoporous carbons. The results showed that the MgO-templated nanoporous carbons at $900^{\circ}C$ exhibited the best $CO_2$ adsorption value of 194 mg/g at 1 bar.
The present study conducts experimental investigation on spreading and deposition characteristics of a $4.3{\mu}l$ de-ionized (DI) water droplet impacting upon aluminum (Al 6061) flat and textured surfaces. The micro-textured surface consisted the micro-hole arrays (hole diameter: $125{\mu}m$, hole depth: $125{\mu}m$) fabricated by the conventional micro-computer numerical control (${\mu}$-CNC) milling machine process. We examined the surface effect of texture area fraction ${\varphi}_s$ ranging from 0 to 0.57 and impact velocity of droplet ranging from 0.40 m/s to 1.45 m/s on spreading and deposition characteristics from captured images. We used a high-speed camera to capture sequential images for investigate spreading characteristics and the image sensor to capture image of final equilibrium deposition droplet for analyze spreading diameter and contact angle. We found that the deposition droplet on textured surfaces have different wetting states. When the impact velocity is low, the non-wetting state partially exists, whereas over 0.64 m/s of impact velocity, totally wetting state is more prominent due to the increase kinetic energy of impinging droplet.
In order to capture the fast crack propagation in an unmanipulated concrete fracture test, we employed mechanoluminascent(ML) material, which emits visible light when stressed, as a crack visualization tool. Three-point bending fracture test setup, a paint type ML material and a high speed camera were used to capture the images of fast moving cracks. The maximum size of coarse aggregates of concrete was used as an experimental parameter. The crack images, loading, and crack mouth opening displacement were successfully recorded as a function of time elapsed. From the test results, several interesting cracking behavior in the unmanipulated fracture test was observed in such that (1) the crack moves fast while the load is slowly decreased after the maximum loading, and (2) the crack in concrete with larger coarse aggregates moves faster than the others.

Carbon Capture and Storage with ocean sequestration is being considered as one of the most effective option for reducing the $CO_2$ net flux from atmosphere nowadays. But it is still possible for $CO_2$ substance to leaks out from transport pipeline or from the under seabed storage sites and causing damage to ambient environment. The behavior of liquid $CO_2$ under droplet shape would be strongly affected by the presence of other contaminants such as $SO_2$ comes from processing processes. This presentation shows the behavior in the sea water of pure liquid $CO_2$ droplets as well as droplets that consist of $SO_2$ substances. The study uses computational fluid dynamic models in comparison with experimental data from other previous researchers. Droplet of liquid $CO_2$ is assumed to be released at several depths in deep ocean, with other environmental conditions are set up respectively. All calculations are conducted with many different ratio of contaminant $SO_2$ to provide fundamental data of those particles rising characteristics. The effect of contaminants on the behavior of $CO_2$ droplets would be clearly shown through the results of particle deformation, terminal rising velocity happen due to buoyancy force driving from the difference in density of $CO_2$ substance and ocean water around.

Attrition characteristics of WGS catalysts for pre-combustion $ CO_2$ capture were investigated to check attrition loss of those catalysts, to check change of particle size distribution during attrition tests, and to determine solid circulation direction of WGS catalysts in a SEWGS system. The cumulative attrition losses of two catalysts increased with increasing time. However, attrition loss under humidified condition was lower than that under non-humidified condition case for long-term attrition tests. Between two catalysts, attrition loss of PC-29 catalyst was higher than that of commercial catalyst for long-term attrition tests. However, the commercial catalyst generated much more fines than PC-29 catalyst during attrition. Therefore, we conclude that the PC-29 catalyst is more suitable for fluidized bed operation if we take into account the separation efficiency of cyclone. Based on the results from the tests for the effect of humidity on the attrition loss, we selected solid circulation direction from SEWGS reactor to regeneration reactor because the SEWGS reactor contains more water vapor than regeneration reactor.
A comprehensive study on seismic performance of wood frame building in hilly regions is presented. Specifically, seismic fragility assessment of a typical wood frame building at various locations of the northeast region of India are demonstrated. A three-dimensional simplified model of the wood frame building is developed with due consideration to nonlinear behaviour of shear walls under lateral loads. In doing so, a trilinear model having improved capability to capture the force-deformation behaviour of shear walls including the strength degradation at higher deformations is proposed. The improved capability of the proposed model to capture the force-deformation behaviour of shear wall is validated by comparing with the existing experimental results. The structural demand values are obtained from nonlinear time history analysis (NLTHA) of the three-dimensional wood frame model considering the effect of uncertainty due to record to record variation of ground motions and structural parameters as well. The ground motion bins necessary for NLTHA are prepared based on the identified hazard level from probabilistic seismic hazard analysis of the considered locations. The maximum likelihood estimates of the lognormal fragility parameters are obtained from the observed failure cases and the seismic fragilities corresponding to different locations are estimated accordingly. The results of the numerical study show that the wood frame constructions commonly found in the region are likely to suffer minor cracking or damage in the shear walls under the earthquake occurrence corresponding to the estimated seismic hazard level; however, poses negligible risk against complete collapse of such structures.
Purpose: The government around the world is still highlighting the effect of the new variant of Covid-19. The government continues to make efforts to restore the economy through several programs, one of them is National Economic Recovery. This program is expected to increase public and investor confidence in handling Covid-19. This study aims to capture public sentiment on the economic growth rate in Indonesia, especially during the third wave of the omicron variant of the covid-19 virus, that is at the time in the fourth quarter of 2021. Research design, data, and methodology: The approach used in this research is to collect crowdsourcing data from twitter, in the range of 1st to 10th October 2021. The analysis is done by building model using Deep Learning Neural Network method. Results: The result of the sentiment analysis is that most of the tweets have a neutral sentiment on the Economic Growth discussion. Several central figures who discussed were Minister of Coordinating for the Economy of Indonesia, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises. Conclusions: Data from social media can be used by the government to capture public responses, especially public sentiment regarding economic growth. This can be used by policy makers, for example entrepreneurs to anticipate economic movements under certain conditions.
