We report a study on the dynamics of the transport of a capsule immersed in a vertical pipe. Techniques to convey objects through liquid flow pipes using a hydraulic mean are used to transport sludge and hazardous materials. For the better understanding of the techniques, we developed a theoretical model to predict the transport speed of a cylindrical capsule in a vertical pipe. The comparison of the model prediction with the experiments shows that our model using the lubrication approximation precisely describes the experimental observations in cases where the gap between the capsule and pipe wall is sufficiently small. Our study suggests parameters to control the falling speed and thus enable an accurate control of the capsule speed in hydraulic transport systems.
During demonstrations of a process conditioning spent nuclear fuels, it may be necessary to transport and handle Spent fuel road cuts from Post Irradiation Examination facility to Slitting device in The hot cell. It may be not easy to transport spent fuel rod cuts because rod cuts are high radioactive materials. For this purpose, we have developed a capsule for transporting and handling high radioactive materials. We have analyzed conditions of a hot cell and requirements of the device, designed and manufactured The prototype of the device, and done some performance tests. From the tests, it has been shown that transportation and handling without scattering nuclear material was smooth but the weight of capsule was heavy. These result will be reflected to a design of the improved transportation and handling device which will be used during demonstrations.
During demonstrations of a process conditioning spent nuclear fuels, it is necessary to transport and handle Spent fuel road cuts from Post Irradiation Examination facility to Slitting device in The hot cell. the spent fuel pellets which are highly radioactive materials are separated with its clad and are fed into the next conditioning process. For this, a spent fuel rod, 3.5 m long, is cut by 25 cm long which is suitable length for the decladding process. These rod-cuts are packed into the capsule and are moved to the ACPF(Advanced spent nuclear fuel Conditioning Process Facility). In the ACPF, Once the capsule is unloaded in the ACPF, Capsule is taken out one-by-one and installed on the decladding device. In these processes, the crushed spent fuel pellet can be scattered inside the facilities and thus it contaminate the hot cell. In this paper, we developed the specially designed transportation and storage device for spent nuclear fuel capsules.
The papillary tubercles (PTs) developed on the splenic capsule of normal Landrace pigs were collected and their histological structures were observed with light microscope. The results were summarized as follows : 1. The external features of the PTs were smooth spherical or oval form protruded on the splenic capsules. On cross section of PTs, the shapes were predominantly round or elliptical single follicular form, and were often multifollicular and irregular form in some PTs. 2. The PTs were interposed into the splenic capsule. Therefore the peripheral boundary of PT was consisted of splenic capsular tissue and this tissue was covered with mesothelium, The basal tissues of PT were consisted of thick connective tissue and smooth muscle of splenic capsule, and capsular foramen for transport tract between splenic parenchyma and the PT was found at the center of the basal boundary of PT. 3. The basal region of PT was composed of parenchyma and this tissue was the splenic red pulp but the central and peripheral regions of PT contained much more erythrocytes than in the splenic parenchymae. 4. The splenic parenchymae adjoining to PT contained more erythrocytes than in other splenic parenchymal regions and parallel fixed cells directed to the capsular foramen.

Erdosteine, the thiol derivatives chemically related to cysteine, is a mucolytic and mucoregulator agent which modulates mucus production and viscosity and increases mucociliary transport. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of two erdosteine capsules, Erdos (Dae Woong Pharmaceutical Co., Korea) and Erblon (Kuhn Il Pharmaceutical Co., Korea), according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). The erdosteine release from the two erdosteine capsules in vitro was tested using KP VII Apparatus II method with various different kinds of dissolution media (pH 1.2, 4.0, 6.8 buffer solution and water). Twenty four healthy male subjects, $23.33{\pm}2.06$ years in age and $66.18{\pm}8.19\;kg$ in body weight, were divided into two groups and a randomized $2{\times}2$ cross-over study was employed. After three capsules containing 300 mg as erdosteine were orally administered, blood was taken at predetermined time intervals and the concentations of erdosteine in serum were determined using HPLC method with UV detector. The dissolution profiles of two formulations were similar at all dissolution media. Besides, the pharmacokinetic parameters such as $AUC_t,\;C_{max}\;and\;T_{max}$ were calculated and ANOVA test was utilized for the statistical analysis of the parameters using logarithmically transformed $AUC_t\;and\;C_{max}$ and untransformed $T_{max}$. The results showed that the differences between two formulations based on the Erdos were 0.20%, 1.10% and -9.44% for $AUC_t,\;C_{max}\;and\;T_{max}$, respectively. There were no sequence effects between two formulations in these parameters. The 90% confidence intervals using logarithmically transformed data were within the acceptance range of log(0.8) to log(1.25) $(e.g.,\;log(0.94){\sim}log(1.22)\;and\;log(0.92){\sim}log(1.20)\;for\;AUC_t\;and\;C_{max},\;respectively$. Thus, the criteria of the KFDA guidelines for the bioequivalence was satisfied, indicating Erblon capsule and Erdos capsule are bioequivalent.
In this study, for textile use, the octadecane of phase change materials(PCM) was encapsulated in several micro-diameter shell which prevents leakage of the material during its liquid phase. Microencapsulated PCM(PM) was prepared with the different weight ratio of core material to wall material and by interfacial polymerization methods using polyurea as shell material. Phase stability for O/W emulsion of PCM and PVA aq. (PE) was evaluated by Turbiscan Lab. The capsule formation win identified using FT-IR. Physical properties of microcapsules including diameter, particle distribution, morphology were investigated. Thermal transport properties of suede treated with PM(SPM) were determined by KES-F7 system.
Three-dimensional neutron flux and fluence of Kori Unit 3 were evaluated using the synthesis technique described in Regulatory Guide 1.190 for all reactor geometry. For this purpose DORT neutron transport calculations from Cycle 1 to Cycle 15 were performed using BUGLE-96 cross-section library. The calculated flux and fluence were validated by comparing the calculated reaction rates to the measurement data from the dosimetry sensor set of the $5^{th}$ surveillance capsule withdrawn at the end of cycle 15 of Kori Unit 3. And then the best estimation of the neutron exposures for the reactor vessel beltline region was performed using the least square evaluation. These results can be used in the assessment of the state of embrittlement of Kori Unit 3 pressure vessel.
Sulfisoxazole, a chemotherapeutic agent, was microencapsulated with ethylcellulose by means of phase separation form cyclohexane by temperatture change. The size distribution was determined by use of standard sieves and the effect of core to wall ratio was noted. To examine their shapes and usrface characteristics, the microcapsules were observed with a scanning electron microscope. Release of the drug from microcapsules into pH 7.5 buffer medium was studied. The release pattern was found to have similar properties to the release of a drug from an insoluble porous matrix reported. The apparent diffusion coefficient of sulfisoxazole was measured for the transport of the drug from the core of microcapsules into the surronding sink condition. The apparent diffusion coefficient increased with increasing capsule size.
Nanomotors are gaining popularity as novel drug delivery methods since they can move rapidly, penetrate deeply into tissues, and be regulated. The ability of manufactured nanomotors to swiftly transport therapeutic payloads to their intended location constitutes a revolutionary nanomedicine strategy. The nanomotors for the drug delivery purpose are released in the blood flow under the different physical conditions, so the stability investigation of these devices is essential before the production, especially in the sport and physical exercise conditions that the blood flow enhances. As a result, using dynamic analysis, this article investigates the stability of the nanomotor released in the blood flow when sport and physical activity circumstances increase blood flow. The considered nanodevice is made of a central motor, and nanotubes are used for the nanomotor blade, which is the drug capsule. Finally, the stability examination of nanomotor as the drug delivery equipment is discussed in detail, and the proposed results can present beneficial results in designing and producing small-scale intelligent devices.
