  • 유도 결합 플라즈마는 비교적 간단한 방법으로 1$\times$$10^{10}$㎤ 이상의 높은 플라즈마 밀도, 저용량 결합(low capacitive coupling), 대면적 균일성을 제공하기 때문에 플라즈마 공정의 관점에서 매우 효율적이다. 따라서 유도 결합 플라즈마의 이러한 장점들은 화학적 기상 증착법으로 적용하였을 때 코팅의 특성을 향상시키는데 매우 유리할 것으로 생각된다. 특히, 좋은 특성을 가진 carbon nitride 박막을 제조하기 위해서 높은 밀도를 이용한 반응 기체의 분해와 상온에서의 증착이 필수적인데, 유도 결합 플라즈마 공정은 이런 점에서 매우 효과적이다.

Nanoparticle plasmonics: from single molecule chemistry to materials science

  • I will present my research group's recent investigation on how the localized plasmon of a nanoparticle interacts with another plasmon, and with nearby molecules. First, I will demonstrate the use of scattering-type scanning near-field microscopy (s-SNOM) to directly visualize the capacitive / conductive coupling in dimeric nanoparticles and heterometallic nanorods. Second, I will talk about the use of gap-plasmons to locally induce photochemical reactions, and to follow chemical kinetics of individual organic molecules using the gap-plasmons. As a last topic, I will talk about the use of near-field coupling between a scanning probe and graphenes to visualize / identify the stacking domains (e. g., ABA versus ABC-type stacking in triple layer) hidden in multilayer graphenes.

RLSE Based Batteryless Telemetry Capacitive Sensor System

  • In case, sensor system performs where it is difficult to access physically and it is in the poor environment, it is limited to communicate by using wire and installing power module in sensor system. In this paper, it suggests how information is obtained from telemetry sensor by means of inductive coupling without battery. Comparing with the telemetry sensor system of inductive coupling by the power supply, this system estimates the capacitance of sensor with high precision in using RLSE, not the process of modulation and demodulation. In order to activate this system, inductive model is used and in case of time variant parameter, telemetry sensor system which has got high rate in accuracy is implemented by using the forgetting factor.

  • In this paper, a modified feeding structure for microstrip patch antenna is suggested for improving the performances. The proposed antenna has a gap between the transmission line and the recessed part of the radiating patch which makes a capacitive coupling. It shows higher 511(-l4dB) and lower cross polarization level(-2OdB) compare with the conventional inset ftd patch antenna while having a similar characteristics in another evaluating items. Experimental results are examined and considered to apply to the S-Band application, and the effectiveness has been confirmed by FDTD simulation and measurement simultaneously.

  • The application of the AC and DC lines on the same transmission tower is an economical and practical approaching that increase the power transmission capacity of an existing transmission corridor. But, In this case, Inductive and capacitive coupling between AC and DC lines on the same tower should be investigated in advance. According to the installation plan of 80kV ${\pm}$60MW bipole HVDC in Cheju, KOREA that will be commissioned until 2011, DC lines will parallely operate with 154kV 2 AC lines in existed 154kV AC 4 lines transmission tower. This paper presents the steady state analysis results about the interaction between 154kV AC and 80kV DC lines in the same transmission tower.

  • The inductive interference can be happened on some of the communication line that is located near by paralleled transmission line. The causes of inductive interference are magnetic coupling, capacitive coupling and residual voltage at neutral point of transmission line. In this paper, after grounding the one side of communication line, we have measured the voltage to ground at the other side of it. And we also have measured the voltage to ground at the end of it without grounding. As a result, we proved that the cause of inductive interference is the difference of ground voltages.

  • In this paper, time-varying parameter of passive telemetry RF sensor system is estimated using RLS(Rescursive $\leq$* Square) algorithm. In order to overcome the problems such as power limits and complication that general RF sensor system including IC chip has, the principle of inductive coupling is applied to model sensor system The model parameter is rearranged for applying RLS algorithm based on mathematical model to the derived model using inductive coupling principle. Time variant parameter of rearranged model is estimated using forgetting factor, and in case measured data is contaminated by noise and modelling error, the performance of RLS algorithm characterized by the convergence of squared error sum is verified by simulation.

  • This study presents an analysis of the human body channel as an electric signal path using body impulse response (BIR). The human body communications (HBC) has recently emerged as an effective signal transmission method to create wireless body area networks (WBAN). We provide body channel characteristics based on measured BIR in a proper experimental environment for the HBC using capacitive coupling with a customized channel sounding device, which can be applied as a guideline for the HBC system design. The frequency response of the BIR, extracted by a customized signal processing for the measure signals, shows the channel path loss (CPS) between 0 MHz and 100 MHz with an average CPS of approximately 46.8 dB. In addition, the relative noise power distributions can provide estimations on the signal to noise ratio at the HBC receiver in terms of capacitor and resistor values in the measured frequency band and the frequency band lower than 3 MHz considering the baseband signal detection.

  • Contact electrodes pose threats like inflammation, metal poisoning, and allergic reaction to the user during long term ECG procedure. Therefore, we present a novel noncontact electrocardiographic electrode designed through microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) process. The proposed ECG electrode consists of small inner and large outer circular copper plates separated by thin insulator. The inner plate enables capacitive transduction of bio-potential variations on a subject’s chest into a voltage that can be processed by a signal processing board, whereas the outer plate shields the inner plate from environmental electromagnetic noise. The electrode lead wires are also coaxially designed to prevent cables from coupling to ground or electronic devices. A prototype ECG electrode has an area of about 2.324 cm2, is very flexible and does not require power to operate. The prototype ECG electrode could measure ECG at about 500 um distance from the subject’s chest.

  • This paper propose an advanced circuit for fingerprint sensor signal processing. We increased the voltage between ridge and valley by modifying the parasitic capacitance eliminating circuit of sensor plate. The analog comparator was designed for comparing the sensor signal voltage with the reference signal voltage. We also propose an effective isolation strategy for removing noise and signal coupling, ESD of each sensor pixel. The 128${\times}$l44 pixel fingerprint sensor circuit was designed and simulated, and the layout was performed.
