증기폭발 적용 축방향 토모그라피 기술 개발 (Development of axial tomography technique for the study of steam explosion)

  • To understand the complex phenomena performed in steam explosion, the fast and global measurement of the steam distribution is imperative for this extremely rapid transient stimulation of the bubble breakup and coalescence due to turbulent eddies and shock waves. TROI, the experimental facility requests more robust sensor system to meet this requirement. In Europe, researchers are prefer a X-ray method but this method is very expensive and has limited measurement range. There is an alternative technology such as ECT. Because of TROI's geometry, however, we need axial tomography method. This paper reviews image reconstruction algorethms for axial tomography, including Tikhonov regularization and iterative Tikhonov regularization. Axial tomography method is examined by simulation and experiment for typical permittivity distributions. Future works in axial tomography technology is discussed.

  • In this study, we fabricated anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) membrane by two step anodizing process for pH detection. The structural properties were observed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM). Electrochemical measurements of the pH sensor have been performed in capacitance-voltage (C-V) and drift rates. The characterization of AAO membrane exhibited high sensitivity (99.1 mV/pH) at second anodizing time of 4 min.

반구상의 볼바측정을 통한 스핀들 열변형 오차 측정 (Measurement of Spindle Thermal Errors in a Machine Tool Using Hemispherical Ball Bar Test)

  • Improvement of machine tool accuracy is an essential part of quality control in manufacturing process. Among of all the errors of a particular machine tool, the thermal errors of the spindle have a notably significant effect on machining accuracy and have a direct influence upon both the surface finish and geometric shape of the finished workpiece. Therefore, this paper proposed new measurement method for thermal errors of the spindle in machine tools. The thermal errors are measured by a ball bar system instead of capacitance sensor system. The novel measurement method using ball bar system is more efficient, easier to use than conventional measurement system. And also the ball bar system is possible to measure both geometric errors and thermal errors at the same time.

Multiple-Mode Structural Vibration Control Using Negative Capacitive Shunt Damping

  • This paper deals with a novel shunt circuit, which is capable of suppressing multimode vibration amplitudes by using a pair of piezoceramic patches. In order to describe the characteristic behaviors of a piezoelectric damper connected with a series and a parallel resistor-negative capacitor branch circuit, the stiffness ratio and loss factor with respect to the non-dimensional frequency are considered. The mechanism of the shunt damper is also described by considering a shunt voltage constrained by shunt impedance. To obtain a guideline model of the piezo/beam system with a negative capacitive shunting, the governing equations of motion are derived through the Hamilton's principle and a piezo sensor equation as well as a shunt-damping matrix is developed. The theoretical analysis shows that the piezo/beam system combined with a series and a parallel resistor-negative capacitor branch circuit developed in this study can significantly reduce the multiple-mode vibration amplitudes over the whole structural frequency range.

  • This paper presents study of efficiency of wavelet transformation for on-line chatter detection during hard fuming process. From comparison with other time series and statistical methods such as fast fourier transformation (FFT), Kurtosis and standard deviation (STD), wavelet transform is better than others in on-line chatter detection. With using wavelet function with pseudo frequency corresponding to chatter frequency, chatter could be detected more sensitively. And for both force signal from dynamometer and displacement signal from capacitance type cylindrical sensor (CCS), wavelet transform with DB2 function on level 4 could be well used for chatter detection in hard turning process.

  • This paper proposes a grating scanner which is driven by a stack-type piezoelectric element. The mechanism of the grating scanner is based on flexure hinges. Using some constraints, the compliant mechanism is designed and then verified by Finite Element Analysis. The designed compliant mechanism is manufactured by wire electro-discharge machining, and then integrated with a stack-type piezoelectric element for actuation and a capacitance displacement sensor for measuring ultra-precision displacement. Experiments demonstrates the characteristics and the performances of the grating scanner using the terms of working range, resonance frequency, bandwidth and resolution. The grating scanner is applicable to a Moire interferometry for measuring 3-dimensional microscopic surface.

  • 금속 평행판 전극 사이에 주입된 액체 유전체의 움직임에 의해서 발생되는 차동 전기용량 변화를 이용하여 기울기 측정센서를 개발하였다. 기울기 $0^{\circ}{\sim}{\pm}90^{\circ}$의 범위에서 직선에 대한 상관계수가 0.999 99로 분석이 되어 우수한 선형성을 보였다. 센서의 전극구조를 완벽한 3-전극형 전기용량기로 설계하였기 때문에 외부로부터의 전자기 잡음 및 전기장의 영향에 관계없이 기울기를 정밀하게 측정할 수 있었다. 또한 안정된 디지털 출력을 이용하여 기울기의 정밀측정 뿐만 아니라 장치나 구조물 등의 기울기를 원격조정 또는 monitoring에도 적용이 가능하다.

  • Axis of rotation error on rotary system are significant; such as the spindle radial error motion of a aligner, wire bonder and inspector machine which results in the poor state of manufactured goods. In this paper, the simple stage which consists of one PZT actuator and rotary encoder, is analyzed and measured by high resolution capacitance type displacement sensor. As the result of experiment, the paper discusses several issues that must be considered when designing rotary stage driven by PZT.

  • This paper presents frequency response compensation technique, and a self-oscillation circuit for capacitive microresonator with the compensation technique using programmable capacitor array, to compensate for the frequency response distorted by parasitic capacitances, and to obtain stable oscillation condition. The parasitic capacitances between the actuation input port and capacitive output port distort the frequency response of the microresonator. The distorted non-ideal frequency response can be compensated using two programmable capacitor arrays, which are connected between anti-phased actuation input port and capacitive output port. The simulation model includes the whole microresonator system, which consists of mechanical structure, transimpedance amplifier with automatic gain control, actuation driver and compensation circuit. The compensation operation and oscillation output of the system is verified with the simulation results.

고유전율 절연체를 활용한 저 전압 유연 유기물 박막 트랜지스터 (Low-voltage Organic Thin-film Transistors with Polymeric High-k Gate Insulator on a Flexible Substrates)

  • We demonstrated low-voltage organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) with bilayer insulators, high-k polymer and low temperature crosslinkable polymer, on a flexible plastic substrate. Poly (vinylidene fluoridetrifluoroethylene) (P(VDF-TrFE)) and poly (2-vinylnaphthalene) are used for high-k polymer gate insulator and low temperature crosslinkable polymer insulators, respectively. The mobility of flexible OTFTs is $0.17cm^2/Vs$ at gate voltages -5 V after bending operation.
