  • Camera calibration is the process of determining the coordinate relationship between a camera image and its real world space. Accurate calibration of a camera is necessary for the applications that involve quantitative measurement of camera images. However, if the camera plane is parallel or near parallel to the calibration board on which 2 dimensional objects are defined(this is called "ill-conditioned"), existing solution procedures are not well applied. In this paper, we propose a neural network-based approach to camera calibration for 2D images formed by a mono-camera or a pair of cameras. Multi-layer perceptrons are developed to transform the coordinates of each image point to the world coordinates. The validity of the approach is tested with data points which cover the whole 2D space concerned. Experimental results for both mono-camera and stereo-camera cases indicate that the proposed approach is comparable to Tsai's method[8]. Especially for the stereo camera case, the approach works better than the Tsai's method as the angle between the camera optical axis and the Z-axis increases. Therefore, we believe the approach could be an alternative solution procedure for the ill -conditioned camera calibration.libration.

  • Analysis techniques using stereo-photos of object is used widely in close-range-photogrammetry field. but, there is difficulty to use metric camera for specialist. In this study, stereo images were acquired using metric camera and general digital camera about slide in Youngdong area. And they were generated two DEMs based metric camera and digital camera. And it was analyzed the correlation of two DEMs. Therefore, in research that was presented effectiveness of digital camera take the place of metric camera for slope analysis.

  • This study examines the game balance of the MOBA game genre, which was selected as a model item for the Asian Games. The "bird-eye view" was used for a more efficient representation of 3D modeling. Based on that, statistical analysis was conducted to present appropriate game camera settings and camera balance to match the competitive structure of the MOBA game. A review of the game camera settings reveals that 64° to 70° is the angle that minimizes the difference in vision between the two-player teams the most. Through a one-way ANOVA analysis, we found that the user ranking level and SVB value are closely related. Therefore, the factor of the regression equation using the SVB value must have a user ranking level. As a result of the optimized camera focus analysis of , the camera setting methods were classified into 3 types. For main action games, the recommended camera angle is 64°~66°, and the recommended camera focus is 11.2 mm~19.3 mm. For action and strategy games, the camera angle is 66°~68°, camera focus - 19.3 mm~27.3 mm. And lastly, for the main strategy game, the recommended camera angle is 68°~70°, and the camera focus is 27.3 mm~35.3 mm.

  • In this paper, we developed a network camera for CMOS camera module inspection. The design, implementation details including embedded linux porting and CPLD logics, and performance of network camera are described. The network camera consists of SoC(S3C4530A), CPLD and CMOS image sensor. In order to image data of CMOS image sensor we designed capture logics on CPLD by using VHDL program. Embedded Linux such as uClinux is performed on the network camera to utilize development environment and TCP/IP protocol specification. The application is based on socket communication between GUI on PC and Embedded Linux based network camera. When JPEG compression is applied, the transmission speed was improved enough for this system to be used for an alternative of expensive CCTV or remote monitoring system in a power plant and uninhabited places.

  • Camera calibration is an important and fundamental procedure for the application of a vision sensor to 3D problems. Recently many camera calibration methods have been proposed particularly in the area of robot vision. However, the reliability of data used in calibration has been seldomly considered in spite of its importance. In addition, a camera model can not guarantee good results consistently in various conditions. This paper proposes methods to overcome such uncertainty problems of data and camera models as we often encounter them in practical camera calibration steps. By the use of the RANSAC (Random Sample Consensus) algorithm, few data having excessive magnitudes of errors are excluded. Artificial neural networks combined in a two-step structure are trained to compensate for the result by a calibration method of a particular model in a given condition. The proposed methods are useful because they can be employed additionally to most existing camera calibration techniques if needed. We applied them to a linear camera calibration method and could get improved results.

  • In order to improve a camera rotation calculation based on the bundle adjustment in Chon's camera motion (Chon and Shankar, 2007, 2008), this paper introduces a method calculating the camera rotation. It estimates a unit vector in the optical axis of a camera through the angles between the optical axis and vectors passing a camera position and ground control points (GCP). The camera position is estimated by using the inner product method proposed by Chon. The horizontal and vertical unit vectors of the camera are determined by using Yakimovsky and Cunningham's camera model (CAHV) (1978).

  • The position of a 3-dimensional(3D) point can be measured by using calibrated stereo camera. To obtain more accurate measurement ,more accurate camera calibration is required. There are many existing methods to calibrate camera. The simple linear methods are usually not accurate due to nonlinear lens distortion. The nonlinear methods are accurate more than linear method, but it increase computational cost and good initial guess is needed. The multi step methods need to know some camera parameters of used camera. Recent years, these explicit model based camera calibration work with the development of more precise camera models involving correction of lens distortion. But these explicit model based camera calibration have disadvantages. So implicit camera calibration methods have been derived. One of the popular implicit camera calibration method is to use neural network. In this paper, we propose implicit stereo camera calibration method for 3D reconstruction using support vector machine. SVM can learn the relationship between 3D coordinate and image coordinate, and it shows the robust property with the presence of noise and lens distortion, results of simulation are shown in section 4.

  • The purpose of this paper is to improve the authentication method for IP camera user authentication. Since existing authentication uses knowledge-based authentication method, if ID and PW are exposed to attack by attacker, IP camera becomes defenseless from attacker. The attacker can access the IP Camera and acquire and distribute real time video and voice, which can be exploited as a second crime, and there is a fear of a secret leak when a secret facility is installed. In order to compensate for this vulnerability, this paper proposes a DUI authentication method that identifies and registers a device using DUI (Device Unique Identifier), blocks access to unauthorized devices by subordinating the device to the IP Camera and authenticates only authorized devices.

  • In the past, a mobile phone had only a function of communication. Recently, new functions such as an mp3 player and a camera are added in a mobile phone. For the application of a camera module to a mobile phone, the size of the camera module needs to become smaller than a general Digital Camera. Furthermore, it is also required that the performance of the camera module in a mobile phone be the same as that of a Digital Camera. In order to fulfill these requirements, the camera module should have functions such as Auto Focus, Zoom, the shutter and the aperture. Therefore, we introduce a simple and effective actuator and propose the shutter composed of solenoid.
