LCL filters are widely used in three-phase PWM converter for its advantages of small volume, low cost and inhibition of high frequency current harmonic. However, it is difficult to optimize its design because its parameters are mutually influenced while the value of each parameter for LCL filter has impacts on the converter's cost and size. In this paper, the target of optimization is to minimize the parameter values of LCL filter, and an optimization method for parameters of LCL filter of three-phase PWM converter based on least square method is proposed. With this method, a quantitative calculation of the harmonic component of the converter’s side phase voltage is performed first, and then the quantitative relationship between phase voltage harmonics and grid phase current harmonics is analyzed. After that, the attenuation requirement of each harmonic is obtained by taking into account the requirements for each harmonic component of grid current. Then according to the optimization objective, the objective function with minimum harmonic attenuation deviation is established, and least squares method is adopted for three-dimensional global searching of parameters for LCL filter. Thus, the designed harmonic attenuation curve approximates the minimum attenuation requirements, and the optimized LCL filter parameters are obtained. Finally, the effectiveness of the method is verified by the experiments.
This paper represents the numerical analysis on effects of radius ratio in a concentric annulus with a rotating inner cylinder. The numerical model consisted of two cylinder which inner cylinder is rotating and outer cylinder is fix, and the axial direction is used the cyclic condition because of the length for axial direction is assumed infinite. The diameter of inner cylinder is assumed 86.8mm, the numerical parameters are angular velocity and radius ratio. Also, the whole walls of numerical model have no-slip and the working fluid is used water at $20^{\circ}C$. The numerical analysis is assumed the transient state to observe the flow variations by time and the 3-D cylindrical coordinate system. The calculation grid adopted a non-constant grid for dense arrangement near the wall side of cylinder, the standard $k-{\omega}$ high Reynolds number model to consider the effect of turbulence flow and wall, the fully implicit method for time term and the quick scheme for momentum equation. The numerical method is compared with the experimental results by Wereley and Lueptow, and the results are very good agreement. As the results, TVF isn't appeared when Re is small because of the initial flow instability is disappear by effect of the centrifugal force and viscosity. The vortex size is from 0.8 to 1.1 for TVF at various $\eta$, and the traveling distance for wavy vortex have the critical traveling distance for each case.
The harmonic components of grid voltage result in oscillations of the calculated phase obtained via phase synchronization. This affects the security and stability of grid-connected converters. Moving average filter, delayed signal cancellation and their related harmonic elimination algorithms are major methods for such issues. However, all of the existing methods have their limitations in dealing with multiple harmonics issues. Furthermore, few studies have focused on a comparison and evaluation of these algorithms to achieve optimal algorithm selections in specific applications. In this paper, these algorithms are quantitatively analyzed based on the derived mathematical models. Moreover, an enhanced moving average filter and enhanced delayed signal cancellation algorithms, which are applicable for eliminating a group of selective harmonics with only one calculation block, are proposed. On this basis, both a comprehensive comparison and a quantitative evaluation of all of the aforementioned algorithms are made from several aspects, including response speed, required data storage size, sensitivity to sampling frequency, and elimination of random noise and harmonics. With the conclusions derived in this paper, better overall performance in terms of harmonic elimination can be achieved. In addition, experimental results under different conditions demonstrate the validity of this study.
The evaluation of the indoor environment of the Assembly Hall in the University, which is designed to be a large space, requires efficient design of its heating system that takes into consideration natural convection and the characteristics of the occupant's spaces. Indoor thermal environment was measured in the field and simulated with CFD code. The estimations of temperature distribution and indoor airflow distribution must be carried out simultaneously, as the thermal stratification is induced by natural convection flows. In order to simulate the even distribution of factors affecting the indoor environment, including temperature and airflow, Phoenics is used. The turbulent flow model adopted is the RNG k- model. The inlets and outlets of the air-conditioning systems, material and thermal properties, and the size of the test room ($35m{\times}18m{\times}10m$) are used for the simulation. Since the Assembly Hall is symmetric, half of the space is simulated. A Cartesian grid is used for calculation and the number of grids are respectively $60{\times}45{\times}35$. The results of the computer simulation during winter conditions are compared with the measurements at the typical points in the assembly hall with the heating system. After evaluating the results of the computer simulations, the methods of the heating system and layout are suggested.

The mass attenuation coefficient is the primary physical parameter to model narrow beam gamma-ray attenuation. A new machine learning based approach is proposed to model gamma-ray shielding behavior of composites alternative to theoretical calculations. Two fuzzy logic algorithms and a neural network algorithm were trained and tested with different mixture ratios of vanadium slag/epoxy resin/antimony in the 0.05 MeV-2 MeV energy range. Two of the algorithms showed excellent agreement with testing data after optimizing adjustable parameters, with root mean squared error (RMSE) values down to 0.0001. Those results are remarkable because mass attenuation coefficients are often presented with four significant figures. Different training data sizes were tried to determine the least number of data points required to train sufficient models. Data set size more than 1000 is seen to be required to model in above 0.05 MeV energy. Below this energy, more data points with finer energy resolution might be required. Neuro-fuzzy models were three times faster to train than neural network models, while neural network models depicted low RMSE. Fuzzy logic algorithms are overlooked in complex function approximation, yet grid partitioned fuzzy algorithms showed excellent calculation efficiency and good convergence in predicting mass attenuation coefficient.

The numerical simulations on 500-N class rocket engine using 96% hydrogen peroxide and kerosene have been conducted, considering atomization, evaporation, mixing and combustion of its propellants. The grid containing 1/6 part of combustion chamber has been generated and it is assumed that 3 kinds of liquid-phase propellants (kerosene, hydrogen peroxide and water) were injected as hollow cone spray pattern, using Rosin-Rammler function for distribution of droplet diameter. For the calculation of combustion the eddy-dissipation model was applied. Owing to small size of combustion chamber and large specific heat / latent heat of hydrogen peroxide and water the propulsion characteristics were highly influenced by the size of droplet particles, and in this analysis the engine with droplet particles of 30 micron in average has shown the best propulsion performance.

In response to climate change, the world is continuing efforts to reduce fossil fuels, expand renewable energy, and improve energy efficiency with the goal of achieving carbon neutrality. In particular, R&D is being made on the value chain covering the entire cycle of hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and utilization in order to shift the energy supply system to focus on hydrogen energy. Hydrogen-based energy sources can produce heat and electricity at the same time, so it is possible to utilize heat energy, which can increase overall efficiency. In this study, calculation of the optimal scale for hydrogen-based cogeneration and the composition of heat sources were reviewed. It refers to a method of the optimal heat source size according to the external heat supply and heat storage to be considered. The results of this study can be used as basic data for establishing a hydrogen-based energy supply model in the future.
The DTM(Digital Terrain Model) in GIS(Geographical Information System) shows the elevation from interpolation using data points surveyed. In panoramic flat landform, pixel size, resolution of source data may not be the problem in using DTM However, in mountainous landform like Korea, appropriate resolution accuracy of source data are important factors to represent the topography concerned. In this study, the difference in contour interval of source data, the resolution after interpolation, and different data structures were compared to figure out the accuracy of slope calculation using DTM from the topographic maps of Togyusan National Park Two types of GIS softwares, Idrisi(grid) ver. 2.0 using the altitude matrices and ArcView(TIN) ver. 3.0a using TIN were used for this purpose. After the analysis the conclusions are as follows: 1) The coarser resolution, the more smoothing effect inrepresenting the topography. 2) The coarser resolution the more difference between the grid-based Idrisi and the TIN-based ArcView. 3) Based on the comparison analysis of error for 30 points from clustering, there is not much difference among 10, 20, 30 m resolution in TIM-based Airview ranging from 4.9 to 6.2n However, the coarser resolution the more error for elevation and slope in the grid-based Idrisi. ranging from 6.3 to 10.9m. 4) Both Idrisi and ArcView could net consider breaklines of lanform like hilltops, valley bottoms.
Spatial variability of sand, silt, and clay contents on Hwadong SiCL and Jungdong SL was studied by using geostatistical concept. The measurements were made within a $33{\times}14m^2$ area at the nodes of 2 by 2m grids. The validity of all assumptions (stationarity, variogram models, etc.) was proved by Jack-knifing procedure and frequency distribution performed on the original data grids. The variogram of sand content on Hwadong SiCL was different from the linear model and that of clay content of Jungdong SL the linear and the spherical model in calculation of both kriged values and kriged variances in identification of its choice for simplicity.

In this paper, a high-accuracy current sensing technique for three-phase current paths in an electrical switchboard is proposed. Conventional open-style current sensors using magnetic sensors show inaccurate sensing performance with more than 10% error due to undesired magnetic field interference from neighboring paths. To increase accuracy, large and expensive current transformers with large permeabilities have been used, which increased the cost and size. The proposed technique can improve the measured magnetic field by the calculation of magnetic interference effect from neighboring current paths. The relationship between neighboring magnetic fields and the desired magnetic field is theoretically analyzed in a general case. The proposed technique is verified using magnetic field simulations in a three-phase busbar environment.
