대지전위와 통신회선 잡음.발생에 대한 고찰 (A Study on the Generation of the Earth Potential and Communication Line Noise)

  • 본 논문에서는 전기철도에서 발생하는 대지전위와 통신회선의 잡음에 대한 실험적 증명에 관한 것이다. 대지전위차가 발생하는 곳에서 전력유도잡음전압과 케이블 평형도 등을 측정할 경우 계측 오차가 심각하게 발생되는 것으로 나타났다. 측정결과, 고속철도 인접한 곳의 통신케이블은 시스층에 지전류가 많이 흐르는 차폐 케이블보다 일반 케이블을 그대로 사용하는 것이 잡음피해를 보다 줄일 수 있음이 실험 결과로 확인 되었다.

  • Conventional flame retardant cable using PVC or CR materials generate considerable amount of toxic and acidic gas (HCI etc.) together with excessive black smoke during a fire. The newly developed halogen free materials have dissolved the problem of halogen acid gases. This paer describes the development of this power cable insulation and sheath, using halogen free materals.

  • The role of SVL (Sheath voltage limiter) in cable system is to protect the PVC(or PE) jacket in case of transient overvoltage resulting from lightning and other causes. But, in Korea, there is so many SVL failure cases resulting from power frequency overvoltage. So, the paper investigates the phenomenon of failure SVL comparing with other countries' system. Finally, the installation of ECC(Earth Connectivity Conductor) in under ground cable system is presented to remove the possibilities of SVL thermal runaway due to the power frequency overvoltage.

  • This paper describes the surge calculations on cable cores and sheaths when an unit step surge is applied in a cable core. It is clear that the maximum core voltage appears at the ending point and maximum sheath voltage is induced at the sending points. It appears that the smaller grounding resistance can offer results having some trends which larger core voltage appears at the end point and smaller voltage is induced at the sending point.

  • The line impedance is important data that are applied in all analysis fields of electric power system such as power flow, fault current, stability and relay calculation etc. Usually, the impedance can be accurately calculated in case of overhead line. However, in case of power cables or combined transmission lines, the impedance can not be accurately calculated because cable systems have the sheath, grounding wires, and earth resistances. Therefore, if there is a fault in cable system, these terms will severely be caused many errors for calculating impedance. In this paper, the line impedance is measured in a power system of underground cables, and is analyzed by a generalized circuit analysis program, EMTP(Electromagnetic Transient Program), for comparison with the measured value. These analysis results are considered to become foundation of impedance calculation for underground cables.

트레이용 난연 전력 케이블의 화재특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study of Fire Characteristics of a Tray Flame Retardant Cable)

  • The present study has been conducted to investigate the fire combustion properties and fire behavior of an IEEE-383 qualified flame retardant cable. The reference reaction rate and reference temperature which are commonly used in pyrolysis model of fire propagation process was obtained by the thermo-gravimetric analysis of the cable component materials. The mass fraction of FR-PVC sheath abruptly decreased near temperature range of $250{\sim}260^{\circ}C$ and its maximum reaction rate was about $2.58{\times}10^{-3}$[1/s]. For the XLPE insulation of the cable, the temperature causing maximum mass fraction change was ranged about $380{\sim}390^{\circ}C$ and it has reached to the maximum reaction rate of $5.10{\times}10^{-3}$[1/s]. The flame retardant cable was burned by a pilot flame meker buner and the burning behavior of the cable was observed during the fire test. Heat release rate of the flame retardant cable was measured by a laboratory scale oxygen consumption calorimeter and the mass loss rate of the cable was calculated by the measured cable mass during the burning test. The representative value of the effective heat of combustion was evaluated by the total released energy integrated by the measured heat release rate and burned mass. This study can contribute to study the electric cable fire and provide the pyrolysis properties for the computational modeling.

지중송전케이블룡 디지털 거리계전 알고리즘 개선 (An Improvement of Digital Distance Relaying Algorithm on Underground Transmission Cables)

  • This paper describes the improvement method of distance relaying algorithm for the underground transmission cables. Distance relaying algorithms have been mainly developing to protect the overhead transmission lines than the underground cables. If the cable systems are directly protected using distance relaying algorithm developed for overhead line without any improvement, there will be really occurred many misoperation in cable systems, because the cable systems consist of the conductor, the sheath, several grounding method, cable cover protection units(CCPUs), and grounding wire. Accordingly, the complicated phenomena are occurred, if there is a fault in cable systems. Therefore, to develope a correct distance relaying algorithm, such cable characteristics should be taken into account. This paper presents the process to improve distance relaying algorithm which is now used. REal cable system was selected to establish modeling in EMTP and ATP Draw. It was discovered through the detailed simulation during the fault that the large error existed between impedance measured at the relay point and real impedance is due to the resistance of grounding wire in each grounding method. And also compensation factor obtained by the simulation is proposed in this paper. It is proved that the factor proposed can fairly improve the accuracy of impedance at the relay point. It is evaluated that the protective ability will be really much improved, if the algorithm proposed in this paper is applied for cable systems of utility.

154kV 혼합송전선로 재폐로 결정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Reclosing Decision on 154kV Combined Transmission Lines)

  • This paper describes switching surge analysis on reclosing decision in 154kV combined transmission line with power cables. Reclosing should be operated in combined transmission line based on the technical evaluation because of insulation problem of power cable section. If the surge strikes on power cable, the breakdown can occur at week point of cable insulation. Therefore the detailed analysis is required by considering several conditions such as length ratio of power cable, arrester, fault resistance, charging rate and grounding resistance, etc.. In addition, sheath voltage on IJ(Insulated Joint) is analyzed to confirm the protective level. Simulation is performed by EMTP/ATP. Analysis results show that reclosing can be operated without any special problem by the single line-to-ground fault with fault resistance of $1\Omega$ to $50\Omega$ occurred at the overhead transmission section in 154kV combined transmission lines and trap charge of 100% and 110%.

  • This paper describes the overvoltage analysis and reduction methods of insulation joint boxes in underground transmission power cables when direct lightning surge strikes to overhead transmission line. An actual 154kV combined transmission line with underground Power cables was modelled in ATPDraw for simulation. Simulations were performed to analyze the overvoltage between insulation joint boxes, sheath-to-ground voltage according to the distance between cable conductors, cable lengths, burying types, CCPU connection types. The most effective method to reduce the induced overvoltage of Insulation joint boxes was proposed. It is evaluated that the proposed reduction method riven from the detailed simulations can be effectively applied to the actual underground power cable systems.

  • 원거리 통신망의 디지탈화가 급격히 이루어지고 있다. 이들 디지털 시스템에는 경제성을 고려하여 비틀어 꼰 금속도체쌍을 다중화시켜 사용한다. 이와 같이 다중화된 케이블 뭉치를 사용하는 관계로 전송신호 상호간에 누화간섭이 발생한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 다중쌍 내 전송신호가 누화간섭을 계산하는 방법을 연구해서 누화간섭전력에 대한 시스템의 전송오차마진을 분석했다. 마지막으로 1.544Mb/s와 2.048Mb/s PCM 시스템의 상호누화잡음훼손도를 계산해서 동일 케이블내 혼용 방법을 제시하였다.
