마이크로파 소결에 의한 CaO-$ZrO_2$-$SiO_2$계 결정화 유리의 미세구조 (Microstructural Development During Microwave Sintering of CaO-$ZrO_2$-$SiO_2$Glass)

  • 타일의 내마모성과 내산성을 향상시키기 위해 결정화유리가 최근에 새로운 유약 재료로서 소개되고 있다. 신 유약의 연구에 사용된 조성은 $Ca_2$ZrSi$_4$O$_{12}$ 상에 근접하는 CaO-ZrO$_2$-SiO$_2$계의 유리조성의 분말로, 마이크로파 가열 (2.45 GHz)에 의해서 900-120$0^{\circ}C$의 0-20분간 소성되어 평가되었다. 그 결과, 100$0^{\circ}C$ 이상에서 소성한 시편은 내부 결정화를 나타내었으며, 결정상은 미세(5$mu extrm{m}$)한 크기를 갖는 $Ca_2$ZrSi$_4$O$_{12}$가 주 결정상이며, $Ca_2$ZrSi$_4$O$_{12}$, CaSiO$_3$, SiO$_2$의 세 상이 나타났다. 소결체의 미세구조는 사용한 유리분말의 입도의 영향을 받았다. 미세분말 (<38$\mu\textrm{m}$)을 이용한 소결체의 조직이 조세분말 (45-150$\mu\textrm{m}$)의 경우보다 수축율면에서 높았으며 낮은 기공도를 갖는 미세구조를 가졌다. 마이크로파에 의한 유리분말의 소성은 1000-120$0^{\circ}C$ 구간에서 10분 이내 결정화가 완료되는 급속 가열 공정이었으며 CaO-ZrO$_2$-SiO$_2$계 결정화 유리 제조에 균일한 체적가열을 할 수 있었다.

5ZrSiO4-xCaCO3 혼합계에서 CaCO3첨가량이 CaZrO3와 m-ZrO2의 합성 및 미세구조변화에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Addition Amount of CaCO3on the Synthesizing behavior and Microstructural Evolution of CaZrO3 and m-ZrO2 in 5ZrSiO4-xCaCO3 Mixture System)

  • Synthesizing behavior and microstructural evolution of $CaZrO_3$and $m-ZrO_2$in a thermal reaction process of $ZrSiO_4$-$xCaCO_3$mixtures, where x is 7 and 19, were investigated to determine the addition amount of CaO in CaO:$ZrO_2$:$SiO_2$ternary composition. CaZrO$_3$-Ca$_2$SiO$_4$precursor prepared by the mixture of $ZrSiO_4$and CaCO$_3$in aqueous suspending media was controlled to the acidic (pH=4.0) condition with HCI solution to enhance the thermal reaction. The addition amount of dispersant into the $ZrSiO_4$-$xCaCO_3$slip increased with increasing mole ratio of $CaCO_3$, which was associated with the viscosity of slip. Decarbonation reaction was activated with an increase of the addition amount of $CaCO_3$, showing different final temperatures in $ZrSiO_4$-$7CaCO_3$and $ZrSiO_4$-$19CaCO_3$mixtures as about 980 and 116$0^{\circ}C$, respectively, for finishing decarbonation reaction. The grain morphology was changed to spherical shape for all samples with an increase of sintering temperature. The grain size and phase composition of the synthesized composites depended on the mixture ratio of Zrsi04 and CacO3 powders, indicating that the main crystals were m-ZrO2 ($\leq$3 $\mu\textrm{m}$) and $CaZrO_3$ ($\leq$ 7 $\mu\textrm{m}$) in $ZrSiO_4$$>-7CaCO_3$and $ZrSiO_4$-$19CaCO_3$mixtures, respectively.

Thermal properties of glass-ceramics made with zircon and diopside powders

  • Diopside is a ceramic material with excellent physical and chemical properties. However, when it is applied as an LED packaging material, heat dissipation of the LED element is not sufficient due to its relatively lower thermal conductivity, which may cause degradation of the LED function. In this study, glass-ceramics based on a $ZrO_2-CaO-MgO-SiO_2$ system, in which diopside is the main crystal phase, were prepared by heat-treating the glass, which was composed of zircon ($ZrO_2-SiO_2$) powders and diopside ($CaO-MgO-2SiO_2$) powders. The possibility of using the glass-ceramics as a packaging material for LEDs was then investigated by analyzing the density, shrinkage, thermal conductivity, and phases generated according to the amount of zircon powder added. The density and shrinkage of specimens decreased slightly and then increased again with the amount of $ZrO_2-SiO_2$ added within a range of 0~0.38 mol. Even though the crystal phase of zircon does not appear in the $ZrO_2-CaO-MgO-SiO_2$ system, the glass containing 0.38 mol zircon powder showed the highest thermal conductivity, 1.85 W/mK, among the specimens fabricated in this study: this value was about 23% higher than that of pure diopside. It was found that the thermal conductivity of the glass-ceramics based on a $ZrO_2-CaO-MgO-SiO_2$ system was closely related to the density, but not to the phase type. Zirconia ($ZrO_2$), a component oxide of zircon, plays an important role in increasing the density of the specimen. Furthermore the thermal conductivity of glass-ceramics based on a $ZrO_2-CaO-MgO-SiO_2$ system showed a nearly linear relationship with thermal diffusivity.

투명 결정화 유리에 관한 연구 - $Al_2O_3-SiO_2$계에 관하여 (A Study on the Transparent Glass-Ceramics On Al2O3-SiO2 System)

  • CaO and ZnO were added to Al2O3-SiO2 binary system respectively as flux, then ZrO2 and TiO2 were applied as nucleating agent to these CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 and ZnO-Al2O3-SiO2 ternary system glass. The transparency could not be kept in CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 system glass, whereas the transparent glass-ceramics were prepared in ZnO-Al2O3-SiO2 system glass containing ZrO2 as the nucleating agent. At this time the optimum heating temperatures for the nucleation and the crystal growth were 78$0^{\circ}C$ and 97$0^{\circ}C$. The sizes of the precipitated crystals in the transparent glass-ceramics were below 0.1 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, and their light transmissibilities were more than 80%.

$Na_2O-CaO-MgO-Al_2O_3-SiO_2$계 Glass-Ceramics에 있어서 Bulk Crystallization에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Bulk Crystallization in $Na_2O-CaO-MgO-Al_2O_3-SiO_2$ Glass-Ceramics)

  • $Na_2O-CaO-MgO-Al_2O_3-SiO_2$계를 기본조성으로 하여 $Na_2O$$Li_2O 0.05wt%, $K_2O$를, CaO에 MgO 12.0wt%, ZnO 6.0%를 각각 치환하여 조성을 선정하였다. 기본 유리조성의 결정상은 wollastonite이고, 치환된 조성들은 diopside, diopside.tremolite의 혼정이 나타났다. $Na_2O$$Li_2O$로 치환한 시편은 열팽창계수가 감소하였지만 CaO를 ZnO로 치환한 시편은 열팽창 계수가 증가하였다. 곡강도에 있어서는 치환에 따라 모두 증가시켰다. 핵행성제로 $ZrO_2$CaF_2$를 각각 1~2wt%의 변화를 시켜본 결과 핵형성제 $ZnO_2$$CaF_2$가 1:1, 1:2인 시편은 $1000~1050^{\circ}C$온도에서 급격한 결정성장을 보였으며 1:2시편이 가장 낮은 열팽창 계수값을 나타냈다. 곡강도는 모두 $1000~1050^{\circ}C$의 결정화 온도 범위에서 높은 강도를 나타내었다. 결정화에 필요한 활성화 에너지는 Ozawa와 Kissinger식으로 plot하여 각각 55.24kcal/mol과 53.05kcal/mol이다.

입도분포에 따른 하상퇴적물의 지구화학적 분산 및 부화 (Geochemical Dispersion and Enrichment of Fluvial Sediments Depending on the Particla Size Distribution)

  • Geochermical characteristics of the fluvial sediments deprnding on particle size distribution size were investigated in the respect of majir, minor and rare eath element chemisitry. Ratios of $Al_{2}O_{3}/Na_{2}O$ and $K_{2}O/Na_{2}O$ of the sediments show the homogeneous valus, and partly positive correlation with $SiO_{2}/Al_{2}O_{3}$, respecively. Characteristics of minor element ratios (V/Ni, Cr/V, Ni/Co and Zr/Hf)are within the lower and narrow range. Thesesuggested that sediment sources may be acidic to intermediate granitic rock, and may be explained by simple weathering and sedimentation. With increasing SiO2 contents, concentrations of $Al_{2}O_{3}$, $Fe_{2}O_{3}$, CaO and MgO decreased, but those of $K_{2}O$ and $Na_{2}O$ increased, Concentrations of Ba, Be, Cs, Cu, Li, Ni, Sr, V and Zr show comparatively normal negative and some positive trends. Compared with the mean composition of granite, concentrations of $Al_{2}O_{3}$, $Fe_{2}O_{3}$, MnO, CaO and MgO in the sediments of the study area were highly enriced. Among some minor and rare earth elements, concentrations of As, Cd, Cu, and V were enriched, but those of Be, Ce, Rb, Sc, Sr and Zn were depleted when compared with average composition of granite. By decreasing of particle size fractions, SiO2, Rb and Sr conterts decreased, but concentrations of $Al_{2}O_{3}$, $Fe_{2}O_{3}$, CaO, MgO, $TiO_{2}$, MgO, $P_{2}O_{5}$, Be, Cu, Hf, Pb, V and Zr increased. From the correlations between particle size fractions and element concenreations, some elements of $Fe_{2}O_{3}$, CaO, MgO, $P_{2}O_{5}$, Cu, Ni, Zn and Zr showed typical trends in the secondary contramination sediments. These trends are typically shown under 100 mesh fractions. It indicates that the fraction of minus 100 mesh is the optimum size fraction for geochemical and environmental survey.

  • 저열팽창 특성을 갖는 난소결 물질인 LAS($Li_2O-Al_2O_3-SiO_2$)계를 고상 소결로 제조하였다. LAS계의 ${\beta}$-spodumene($Li_2O-Al_2O_3-4SiO_2$) 조성에 소결 조제로 $CaCO_3$를 첨가하였고, 강도 증가를 위하여 $ZrO_2$를 첨가하였다. 첨가제의 양의 변화와 소결 온도의 변화에 따른 소결 특성, 미세 구조, 기계적 특성 및 열팽창 특성에 대하여 조사하였다. 0.1 mol%의 $CaCO_3$을 첨가하였을 때, 치밀화가 증진됨을 미세구조 관찰에 의해 확인하였으며, $ZrO_2$의 첨가로 강도가 증진됨을 확인하였다. Dilatometer로 측정한 열팽창 계수는 선택된 전 조성에서 값이 $1.2{\sim}1.7{\times}10^6/^{\circ}C$임을 확인하였다.

TiAl 합금의 CaO 도가니 유도용융 및 정밀주조 (CaO Crucible Induction Melting and Investment Casting of TiAl Alloys)

  • The main objectives were to investigate the suitability of CaO crucible for melting TiAl alloys and to develop investment mold for investment casting of TiAl alloys. TiAl alloy specimen were prepared by plasma arc furnace under argon atmosphere. After melting of TiAl alloy using CaO crucible, the results showed that there is little contamination of oxygen in the TiAl bulk. Conventional vacuum induction furnaces can be readily adaptable to produce cast parts of TiAl without high skilled techniques. The determination of optical metallography and microhardness profiles in investment cast TiAl alloy rods has allowed the gradation of the relative thermal stability of the oxides examined. The molds used for the present study were $ZrO_2$, $Al_2O_3$, CaO stabilized $ZrO_2$ and $ZrSiO_4$. Even although high temperature of mold preheating, $Al_2O_3$ mold is a promising mold material for investment casting of TiAl alloys in terms of thermal stability, cost and handling strength. It is important to take thermal stability and preheating temperature of mold into consideration for investment casting of TiAl alloys.

투휘석-Devitrite계 복합용융체의 핵생성 및 결정성장의 최적화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimization of Nucleation and Crystal Growth in Diopside-Devitrite System)

  • This study seeks to find optimum conditions for the heating schedule of the Diopside-Devitrite system, to find the amounts and the kinds of nucleus which effect the crystal growth and forming nucleus. Generally, crystallization in the glass depends on the number of nucleus growing in the internal system and the rate of crystal growth. In order to obtain homogeneous polystalline phae, Diopside as MgO source and $ZrO_2$.$P_2O_5$, $TiO_2$, NaF, $CaF_2$ as nucleating agents were added to the $Na_2O$.CaO.$6SiO_2$ glass. The results obtained were Summarized as follows. 1) Optimum Batch Composition of base glass is 76.82 wt.% $SiO_2$, 5.84 wt.% CaO, 4.54 wt.% MgO and 9.80 wt.% $Na_2O$. 2) Best heating schedule.140$0^{\circ}C$(Melting)coolinglongrightarrow95$0^{\circ}C$reheatinglongrightarrow$1100^{\circ}C$coolinglongrightarrowRoom Temp. 3) The optimum amounts of $ZrO_2$.$P_2O_5$, $TiO_2$ and $CaF_2$ are 3wt.% and that of NaF is 4 wt.% as a nucleating agents.

고투자율 Mn-Zn 페라이트의 첨가물 효과에 따른 자기적 특성연 (Additive Effects on Magnetic Properties in High Permeability Mn Zn Ferrite)

  • 기본조성 52.5mol% $Fe_2O_3$, 25.5mol% MnO, 22mol% ZnO로 구성된 Mn-Zn페라이트에 $Bi_2O_3$$CaCO_3$을 각각 0.02, 0.05wt%첨가한 시편에 대해서 $Ta_2O_5,ZrO_2$$SiO_2$의 미량 첨가한 따른 미세구조와 자기적 특성변화를 조사하였다. $Ta_2O_5,ZrO_2$첨가에 따라 결정립 크기가 감소되었고, 전기시 균일한 입자로 형성된 미세구조를 가진 재료를 얻었다. $SiO_2$첨가에 따라 결정립의 이상성장이 관찰되었고 소결밀도, 전기저항, 초투자율은 감소하고 고주파 영역에서 상대손실이 증가되었다. 본 연구결과 초투자자율은 균일한 결정립에서 최대의 값을 가지며 0.02wt%$Bi_2O_3$, 0.05wt%$CaCO_3$, 0.1wt%$Ta_2O_5$ 첨가시편의 경우 10kHz, $25^{\circ}C$에서 초투자율($\mu_i$)은 6260이고 상대손실 계수(tan$\delta /\mu_i$)는 $4.2 \times 10^{-6}$ 인 높은 투자율과 낮은 손실 특성을 가진 자성재료를 얻었다.
