콩단백질과 고기단백질 식이가 인체내 단백질과 칼슘.인.마그네슘 대사에 미치는 영향 : 중기간 급식 효과 (Effects of Soy Protein and Meat Protein Diets on Protein, Calcium, Phosphorus, and Magnesium Metabolism in Young Korean Adults : Mid-Tern Feeding Study)

  • A 44-day metabolic study was conducted to compare the effects of soy protein and meat protein on N, Ca, P, and Mg metabolism in young Korean males. Meat protein diet(MPD) and soy protin diet(SPD) were provided for 3 weeks each. For MPD, meat protein Supplied 50.3% of total protein and mean daily suplies of Ca, P, and Mg were 33.28mg, 1013.01mg, 226.81mg respectively. For SPD, soy protein supplied 51.8% of total protein and mean contents of Ca, P and Mg were 737.86mg, 1261.76mg, and 451.3mg. Mean daily fecal and urinary excretions of Ca were 350.6mg and 113.3mg for MPD and 515.0mg and 118.3mg for SPD. Apparent absorption rates in MPD and SPD were 4.2mg in MPD and 700.4mg and 475.1mg SPD. Apparent absorption rates were 65.6% in MPD and 44.5% in SPD(p<0.01). For Mg, fecal and urinary excretions were 144.8mg and 81.2mg in MPD and 292.4mg and 65.5mg in SPD. Apparent absorption rates were 37.5% in MPD and 35.2% in SPD. The correlations between urinary Ca, P, and their balance were significant (p<0.001) in MPD, but not in SPD. Urinary Ca was significantly correlated with urinary N, P, Mg(p<0.001) in MPD, but not in SPD. From these results, meat protein seems to increase the excretions of major minerals compared to soy protein.

하품녹차 열수추출물이 흰쥐의 지질대사 및 칼슘흡수에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Late-harvested Green Tea Extract on Lipid Metabolism and Ca Absorption in Rats)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of late-harvested green tea extract on serum and tissue lipid contents and Ca absorption. Sprague-Dawley male rats weighing 200g were fed high fit diets containing no tea(control), 0.5%(0.5LG), 1.0% late-harvested green tea extract(1.0LG), and 1.0% early-harvested green tea extract(1.0EG) for 4 weeks. Though daily food intake of experimental groups showed no significant difference from that of control group, daily body weight gain and food efficiency ratio were lower in all groups fed green tea extract. The contents of serum triglyceride of 1.0LG and 1.0EG groups and the content of serum total cholesterol of 1.0LG group were significantly lower than those of control group. The values of serum HDL-cholesterol in groups fed green tea extract were higher than that in the control group. LDL-cholesterol and atherogenic indices of all groups fed green tea extract were significantly lower than those of the control group. The contents of total lipid and triglyceride in liver were significantly lower in only 1.0LG group. For epididymal fit pad, the contents of total lipid and triglyceride in 1.0LG and 1.0EG groups were lower than those in the control group. The contents of total lipid excreted in feces were higher in groups fed diets of 1.0% green tea extract. There was no significant difference among experimental groups in Ca absorption. These results suggest that the administration of late-harvested green tea extract decreases the contents of fat in the body without reducing Ca absorption.   • 석회를 대치하여 돌로마이트를 $SO_2$ 흡수공정에 사용하는 경우에 대하여 돌로마이트의 조성에 따른 생성물질의 구성 변화에 미치는 열적 효과를 열역학적 산정 방안을 적용해 검토하였다. $SO_2$의 수중 용해 시 흡수공정의 산물인 $CaSO_4$$MgSO_4$의 형성에 직접적으로 관련되는 반응은 $Ca^{2+}/Ca(OH)_2$ 평형반응과 $Mg^{2+}/Mg(OH)_2$ 평형반응, 그리고 $H_2SO_4$의 2차 해리 반응인 것으로 고려되었다. 돌로마이트의 조성 대비 $CaSO_4$$MgSO_4$의 구성비의 변화에 미치는 온도의 영향을 파악하기 위해서는 이들 평형반응에 미치는 온도의 효과와 함께 $CaSO_4$$MgSO_4$ 생성 반응의 엔탈피 변화를 조사할 필요가 있을 것으로 사료되었다. 온도 증가 시 Pourbaix Diagram 상에서의 $Ca(OH)_2$$Mg(OH)_2$ 의 안정영역은 증가하였으며 $Ca^{2+}$$Ca(OH)_2$ 간의 평형반응은 $Mg^{2+}$$Mg(OH)_2$ 간의 평형반응에 비해 온도의 영향을 더욱 크게 받는 것으로 파악되었다. Ca와 Mg, 그리고 $H_2SO_4$의 수중 평형반응들에 대한 열적 특성에 의거하여 온도가 상승함에 따라 $CaSO_4$$MgSO_4$의 생성량은 감소될 것으로 예상되었다. 돌로마이트에 포함된 칼슘과 마그네슘의 조성 대비 $CaSO_4$$MgSO_4$의 생성비는 동일한 온도 조건에서 더 큰 값을 보이는 것으로 파악되었으며 돌로마이트 중의 칼슘 함량이 증대될수록 온도 상승에 따른 $CaSO_4$$MgSO_4$의 생성비의 감소는 상대적으로 작아지는 것으로 검토되었다. 또한, 돌로마이트에 포함된 칼슘 성분의 함량 증가에 따라 돌로마이트의 조성과 비교한 생성물질의 구성비의 변화정도는 감소되는 것으로 파악되었다.

Ultrasonic Velocity and Absorption Measurements in an Aqueous Solution of Poly(sodium 4-styrenesulfonate)

  • Both the ultrasonic velocity at 3 MHz and the absorption coefficient in the frequency range from 0.2 to 2 MHz were measured for aqueous solutions of poly(sodium 4-styrenesulfonate) over the concentration range from 5 to $25\%$ (by weight). The pulse echo overlap method was employed to measure the ultrasonic velocity over the temperature range from 10 to $90^{\circ}C;$ the high-Q ultrasonic resonator method was used for the measurement of the absorption coefficient at $20^{\circ}C.$ The velocities exhibited their maximum values at ca. 55, 59, 63, 67, and $71^{\circ}C.$ for the 25, 20, 15, 10, and $5\%$ solutions, respectively. The velocity increased with respect to the poly(sodium 4-styrene-sulfonate) concentration at a given temperature. A study of the concentration dependence of the both the relaxation frequency and amplitude indicated that the relaxation at ca. 200 kHz is related to structural fluctuations of the polymer molecules, such as the segmental motions of the polymer chains and that the relaxation at ca. 1 MHz resulted from the proton transfer reactions of the oxygen sites of $SO_3.$ Both the absorption and the shear viscosity increase upon increasing the polymer concentration, but they decrease upon increasing the temperature.

Effect of High-Molecular-Weight Poly-$\gamma$-Glutamic Acid from Bacillus subtilis (chungkookjang) on Ca Solubility and Intestinal Absorption

  • The bioavailability of Ca is currently one of the most important topics in nutrition research and is correlated with gastrointestinal solubility. Thus, to increase the solubility of calcium, this study was undertaken to examine the effect of $\gamma$-PGA on intestinal Ca solubility. The calcium solubility increased when the amount of $\gamma$-PGA was increased, due to the inhibition of the formation of an insoluble Ca complex with phosphate. Therefore, when $\gamma$-PGA-500 (avg. MW 5,000 kDa) was added at 0.5 mg/ml, $75\%$ of the total Ca was soluble. The amount of soluble Ca uptake in the small intestine was investigated using Balb/c mice as an animal model system. The soluble Ca uptake in the mice orally administered with $\gamma$-PGA-500 (avg. MW 5,000 kDa) was significantly higher than that in the $\gamma$-PGA-l00 (avg. MW 1,000 kDa)-administered mice (P<0.05). Accordingly, these results strongly support the notion that the molecular size of $\gamma$-PGA is correlated with Ca solubility. The effects of other factors, such as casein phosphopeptide and vitamin D, on intestinal Ca absorption have also previously been investigated. Therefore, it is hoped that the present observations will help clarify the role of $\gamma$-PGA in Ca solubility and its industrial application as an additive.

탈지분유 함유 식이를 섭취하는 흰쥐에서 칼슘과 비타민 D 수준이 무기질 대사에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Dietary Calcium and Vitamin D Levels on Mineral Metabolism in Rats Fed a Diet Containing Powdered Skim Milk)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of calcium (Ca) and vitamin D (vit. D) levels on metabolism of various minerals such as Ca, P, Mg, Fe, Zn, Cu, and Cr. The comparison was made on the rats that were placed on diet containing powdered skim milk with different Ca and vit. D levels for 5 weeks. A total of 42 5-week-old Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into 7 groups as follows: Control group consisted of normal Ca and normal vit. D (0.5% Ca, 1,000 IU vit. D); Experimental groups were divided into low (0.25%) and high (1.0%) calcium levels; and vit. D group was divided into low (10 IU), normal (1,000 IU), and high (5,000 IU) subgroups. The weight gain and food efficiency ratios of the rats were not significantly different with increasing dietary Ca levels. The absorption rates of 7 minerals (Ca, P, Mg, Fe, Zn, Cu, and Cr) were significantly decreased with increasing dietary Ca levels. Also, fecal excretion of P significantly increased with increasing dietary vit. D levels (p<0.05), and urine excretion of Fe was significantly increased with increasing dietary vit. D levels (p<0.001). The result indicated that higher Ca intake affected on bioavailability of other minerals, due to interactions among minerals in the process of intestinal absorption. However, vitamin D intake had no effect on bioavailability of several minerals. Therefore, it could be suggested that adequate Ca intake is important for balance of the minerals.

청소년기 여자의 칼슘과 인 평형 연구 (Ca and P Balance in Korean Female Adolescents)

  • Intakes and excretions of calcium and phosphorus were determined for 8 female adolescents(aged 16.3$\pm$0.5y; body mass index 20.4$\pm$1.3kg/$m^2$; body fat 33.3$\pm$2.5%; bone mineral density of lumbar spine in L2-L4; 0.96$\pm$0.08g/$\textrm{cm}^2$) when they consumed diets basal and high in calcium for 6 days each. All subjects consumed a basal Ca diet containing 800mg, Korean RDA level of the subjects, and a high Ca diet containing 1200mg, RDA plus 2 SDs of calcium intake. The diets provided 58% of energy intake as carbohydrate, 25% as fat, and 17% as protein. Food, urine, and fecal composites were collected during the last 3 days of each feeding period. Fecal excretion of calcium was significantly greater on the high Ca than on the basal Ca diet. Hence, apparent absorption rate was significantly lowered from 40.9% on the basal Ca diet to 33.1% on the high Ca diet. There was no significant difference in calcium retention between the two diet periods but it tended to be greater on the high Ca diet. However, excretions and retention of phosphorus did not show any significant difference even though intake was significantly increased from 1,253mg on the basal Ca diet to 1,583mg on the high Ca diet. The results indicate that higher calcium intake than the Korean RDA level is recommended for adolescents to meet peak bone mineral accretion and attain a desirable level of calcium retention. 석탄 화력발전소의 비산재를 이용한 건식 CO2 흡수제 제조 및 특성 연구 (CO2 Capture Performance of Dry Sorbents Manufactured by Coal Fly Ash)

  • 본 논문에서는 석탄화력발전소에서 배출되는 비산재의 $CO_2$ 건식흡수제의 첨가제 및 담체로써의 효과를 검토하였다. 이를 위해 필요에 따라 비산재와 $CO_2$ 포집 유효 성분인 NaOH, CaO 및 물을 조합하여 여러 종류의 흡수제를 제조한 후, $CO_2$ 흡수 실험을 포함한 흡수제의 특성 분석을 수행하였다. 그 결과, 조건에 따라 흡수율과 흡수 온도, 속도 및 탈기 현상 등, 비산재 투입에 의한 다양한 효과를 확인할 수 있었고 NaOH, CaO 및 비산재와 물이 첨가되어 제조된 흡수제에서 비산재 효과가 가장 크게 나타났다. $550^{\circ}C$에서 본 흡수제의 $CO_2$ 흡수율은 비산재가 첨가되지 않은 흡수제에 비해 35.6% 높았고 흡수 종료 후, $CO_2$ 탈기 현상도 관측되었다. 이는 비산재 첨가 때문으로 흡수제 내, 유효 성분들이 비산재 주변으로 분산도가 높고 상대적으로 미세한 입자로 존재하였다. 또한 비산재의 담체 역할이 확인되며 NaOH로 인해 흡수제 내 포졸란 반응이 억제되기 때문이다. 탈기 현상도 비산재 첨가로 인한 현상으로 NaOH, CaO가 비산재와 물리, 화학적 결합을 형성하여 Na와 Ca에 포집되어 있는 $CO_2$의 결합력이 약화되기 때문으로 판단된다.

  • According to previous studies, the effect of intrinsic motivation related variables such as cognitive absorption (CA) on the use of information technology(IT) should be mediated by the conscious intention. However, CA, which is a thought of previous emotional experience, a deep involvement with a software, may be one of environmental cues stimulating the use of IT independently of conscious intention. The objective of this study is to show the direct effect of CA on the automatic use of IT. For this purpose, as well as the relation between CA and use, two relations, CA-intention and intention-use, were also suggested as hypotheses, which will show that conscious intention would not fully mediate the relation between CA and automatic use. Moreover, for seeing the effects of CA as time passes, the proximal effect, which is short term and transitory effect, and the distal effect, which is long term and lingering, were simultaneously included in hyptheses. Finally, the effect of past use was also suggested as a hypothesis which aimed to show that automatic use would be controlled mostly by habit rather than not only intention but also CA. For the empirical validation of the hypotheses, 174 users of 'Cyworld', one of most influential social network services, were longitudinally surveyed, which showed that the hypotheses were accepted.

Chelation of Calcium Ions by Poly(${\gamma}$-Glutamic Acid) from Bacillus subtilis (Chungkookjang)

  • Many studies have clarified that poly(${\gamma}$-glutamic acid) (PGA) increases the solubility of $Ca^{2+}$, suggesting that PGA enhances calcium absorption in the small intestine. However, there has been no report on the specific interaction between PGA and $Ca^{2+}$ in water. We studied the aqueous solution properties of PGA calcium salt (PGA-Ca complex). The chelating ability and binding strength of PGA for $Ca^{2+}$ were evaluated. The PGA-Ca complex was soluble in water, in contrast to the insolubility of poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) calcium salt, and the chelating ability of PGA for $Ca^{2+}$ was almost the same as that of PAA. The globular conformation of the PGA-Ca complex in water was estimated by SEC and viscosity measurements. The chelation ability of PGA for $Ca^{2+}$ was examined by $^1H$ NMR. The present study showing the characteristics of the PGA-Ca complex will provide useful information about the calcium absorption by PGA in vivo.
